I saw you got Mayu on the minidd discussion thread congrats I'm glad someone got her here. I really love anime styled face sculpts but I can only get minis or smaller due to space limitations. I wanted to put in for Ayu but had to decide Lin or Mayu and I really loved Lin

I'm so happy I got a Shinsiya. I was trying for the cocoa jumper set for her. I hope I can get it in the US after event

 

I've been refreshing for about 5 hours too, but while I was able to get the shoes & outfits that I wanted.. the rose Princess dress has not been back in stock. I guess I'll try my luck on the Volks USA site.. if they carry the dress.

I'm still refreshing for the hopeless Reisner too..haha..
but I was too stupid to miss the chance of getting him directly from volks all because I overslept...when I finally woke up it's already 13mins passed..
13 mins makes a big difference ..

Quick question, do they send out confirmation emails at all if you win the outfits or dolls? Or send an email saying when they'll ship it?

 

I feel so totally pathetic... 9 hours after the AE, and I am still refreshing in the hopes of getting Reisner.

 

I was trying to get that dress too. I wanted it really bad but had no luck at all. If anyone knows of one for sale please let me know. I stayed up all night and my cart stayed empty. Sniff. I tried to also get the MSD pj's and the MSD black or white cat outfit. I saw some pj's on the marketplace but I I want the DD dress the most and now I know if I find it I'll have to pay a premium price.

Sounds like some people had pretty good luck at the AE. YAY for them!

Has anyone gotten charged yet for their items yet from the VolksUSA lottery? I haven't and I'm wondering if I did something wrong.

On the order page, it says the order is on hold. I will have an heart attack if it says its canceled!!!!

 

Volks USA has charged my card, though it still shows up as pending and is scheduled to go through on the 29th.

I totally missed out on the AE though, I had so much stuff to do yesterday and today I just couldn't stay up so late. Though it's just as well I suppose --I was REALLY trying hard to resist Rin, so problem solved! I wanted the MSD cocoa sets but I'll just have to wait and see if I can snag them when they make it to Volks USA.

Congratulations to those of you that managed to get what you wanted! And big ((hugs)) for you guys that missed out, I hope that you will be able to give a new home to any DP17 dollies that aren't bonded with!

 

Thank You time-ashes and Dolly I checked my order page and it says nothing really, not even "hold." Could it because I used a debt/credit card to place my order payment. I know it works for VolksUSA because I've used this method for payment before. I guess I just feel anxious.

DO you have DD sized dolls? I think some of the outfit will fit them??

Hi Anthony *waves* I have been trying to find this out for months! I wrote to Volks USA about the brown maid outfit from a couple of Dolpas ago.

"As for your inquiry about if the Long Maid Dress
would fit on Amelia, we are sorry to say that it
will not fit on Amelia.

SD16 body is larger than Dollfie Dream body,
and this outfit is made to fit Dollfie Dream, so
it seems that this outfit is too tight for Amelia."

But when I try to compare measurements it seems to me that it MIGHT work if the outfit in question is not super form fitting. The SD16 body is larger thru the bustline, especially across the back. Her waist is also a tiny bit larger.
I wish someone here had both dolls so they could actually try the fit (anyone???).
The DD outfits I love and are long enough to work for Maddy (not a miniskirt person) are SO expensive that I haven't worked up the courage (impulsive insanity??) to buy one money be damned. WISH they would fit, but alas that is probably not going to make it happen.

I went to my first AE yesterday. Though I was hoping to get a bad number (knowing my lack of self-control) I did not expect to get the worst number. I was the very last person in the queue!
People were all over the place scabbinb clothes like crazy by the time I finally set foot into the store. What a scene!
Thanks to my friends with good luck, I was able to buy a yo-sd outfit!

I think, next time if I really want to buy something, I should try my luck on the internet instead!

 

The very last one? *OUCH!!!* But you can now say you've been to an AE in person. Congrats to being able to get at least the one outfit.

The only difference between a store AE & an on-line one is it's less crowded.

 

I would definitely try VolksUSA! Part of the problem is while the dresses are super cute and look well designed, maids are a huge fetish among male Japanese collectors which makes demand higher for cute well made outfits like that.

During the AE you are competing against Japanese collectors who don't live near a Volks store as well as people internationally. VolksUSA will just be people here.

I'm so sorry to all the people who lost out on their dolls. I know this sounds bad, but personally I would wait until closer to the next Dolpa/another big Volks release as people seem to sell off dolls to make room for new dolls then. If you look in the marketplace there are a bunch of Lunas much cheaper than what she was going for in March directly after the Dolpa, so don't give up hope!

 

I am sorry to hear that you were the last person Banshee, I can't imagine something like that, I have no patience for a situation like that. How many people were there?
I don’t mind the online event so much because you are at home in your own space, it’s not like people are pushing each other screaming over doll stuff. I love my dolls but not that much.

I am out of town at a Convention, woke up at 245 AM Saturday to do the AE. I got LOTS of items, and finally survived a 55 minute trial to check out, ONLY to find out that my credit card had been put on hold due to "suspicious charges" in Japan and from Volks USA.

I found this out when I tried to pay for a plush animal in the dealers room the following morning. I got on the phone with my CC company and raised holy Hell with them. It seems that since it was a newly issued card, they flagged it, due to the foreign transactions. See, my other card was stolen, and canceled, and replaced over a month ago. I have bought from Volks USA and Japan many times, but apparently this HISTORY didn't transfer over to the new account number, but the BALANCE I owe them made it just fine.... Both my Shinn Lottery and AE charges will go through, but talk about nearly having a stroke...

Same exact thing happened to me last AE. ^^ I had my items for a good 2 weeks before Volks finally recharged me ^^; I try to just pay with paypal now instead of my bank card.

 

Nytshaed, I feel your pain. I can't even spend a measly $1 at ANY non-US shop without it being denied. I have to call my cc company as I do the transaction so they will let the charge go through. -_- I'm so glad they accept paypal now. And I'm really glad it didn't mess up your payments so they wouldn't go through! Shinn is sooo cute.

 

I had a similar issue when trying to buy my playstation 3. They wouldn't let it go through because target was coming out as $600 worth of groceries. A week before they called for suspicious foreign charges

This week they keep trying to issue me an upgraded credit card which I don't want to agree to since I have the hold on the current one for Lin from volksusa

 

We had a hold put on our credit card the week after we got back from Japan -- seems it took them that long to notice the charges. My husband even went into the bank before we left and specifically told them to expect foreign charges. Evidently, he was also supposed to call the main customer service to tell them as well, but did they tell him that at the bank.

What I don't get is that if your credit card is stolen, no one is going to hop on a plane and go off and buy dolls in another country. They're going to go to the nearest convenience store, charge something small and get the maximum cash back. That's what credit card companies really should be watching out for.

 

Actually from my last vacation in Prague I found out before going on a foreign country trip it is good to notify your credit card before hand. I my credit cards asking which one gave a better foreign transaction fee and thy told me they'll note the credit card that I will be away so it won't tag as a weird charges.

Kellyhime i don't think they assumed you would hop on a plane and charge foreign items. They may assume someone generated your card via algorithm. I had that happen with a smaller bank someone made a new card with new name and was charging gas with it.

After that I only deal with Chase or Citibank credit cards outside the US

 

Oh, that makes sense. However, it makes more sense to wait for the customer to contact their bank about suspicious charges rather than cut them off in the middle of a vacation. Seems like the banks and credit card companies are more concerned about avoiding liability than serving their customers. *sigh*

 

Non-usage of a credit card then sudden usage also triggers the company to deny charges. I once was out shopping an hour before wrok stopped at daffys, a bookstore, then starbucks. They declined the charge at starbucks.

What I've learned is carry more than one if you can. Also since most credit card companies have a max liability to you they want to minimize their loss they are a business unfortunately not our friend and family.


The problem is by the time most people get their cc statment thousands of dollars of charges could have gone through.

 

I'm a newbie for AE, I've never try to buy at AE.
But.. I love SDC Kaede outfit, and in some pics, I saw the same outfit in yellow. Do you think it was sold in AE? I look for it, but I didn't find it.
Maybe I'm blind...

 

I got my shipment and tracking number for Shinn!!!, I love the fact that when you get the dolls at the after event they ship then right away, I have to wait to the end of june for the ones I won at the lottery.

That dress was only available for sale with SwDKaede. It could not be bought at the AE unless you bought the full doll.

You can check here or Y!J in case someone decides to sell the outfit though or create a WTB thread.

I got my shipment notice for all the clothing and wigs I won at the AE!! (Won, isn't THAT a funny term to use when you FIGHT to pay for something??) I just hope they arrive in time for my guys to wear at Dollectable this weekend!!

Volks charged me for Shinn on the 26th, and my AE stuff should HOPEFULLY be here tomorrow or Friday, it entered customs in SFO this morning. I am only about 20 miles from SF, so it should be soon!

yeah, I'm certain it was "end of June" so there's still a bit of waiting left to do.

 

I can't remember such a painful wait in recent memory T_T... even if I do need this time to get an extra paycheck or two to finish being able to pay XD...

 

I dont know, but for some reason this wait has been easy for me. Maybe because I just had finals and alot of other stuff is making life stressful so I dont exactly have time to be thinkng about another doll coming home... But jeeze now that I think about it, this will be 4 in 6 months O.o
