Oooooo, I can't wait to see what you do with the second one! Mine are still in the same state they were last time. hahaha
Ooh, a new flower. Sounds exciting! ^__^ I finally got a nice doll case and Freyr is taking up one of the prime spots. Hehe. I haven't been able to work on him more, but hopefully soon. At least he'll be less dusty now...
heh heh heh I always feel baaaaaaad when I have to dust a doll off! It happens all the time.... *innocent whistle*
You...don't even know how many times I've cleaned spider webs out of his head petals... I took a photo once...
heh heh heh The spider found the fanciest place to put its home! ....I haven't checked mine for webs. Perhaps I should....
I was a little embarrassed but Hana Shonen's head is looking a lot like the picture @Lady Ravenswood posted. He needs a dip & scrub, poor little guy I haven't picked him up in a while
Hahahaha, maybe these guys really are little lords of nature and just attract beautiful wild life companions?
...and now I have a picture to go with the funky old dance music that's been in the back of my head all day... lol I'm kind of afraid I'll find a host of spiders living in my two flower kids.
Hehe. Spider daytime disco? My flower boy is still happily standing in his new case slot. Less dusty, and more admiriable...but not really any different. My poor flower girl is still disassembled and stored away...awaiting inspiration...and time...and...many things.
Yeah, I have plans...oh yes, many, many plans for my second Anson that has now arrived and is safely stored away in her box for now. And like Lady Ravenswood, it's all about the time issue. That, and the need to stock up on multiple cans of MSC before I begin. I have a few smaller doll projects to finish before I can move onto this monumental task, but I'm hoping to start on her sometime over the holidays.
Hehe, yes! MSC becomes quite a consideration with these guys. ^_~ Can't wait to see what you have in store though. ^__^
Oh how exciting! I've always been utterly impressed and fascinated by the work you've done on him already. I can't wait to see what comes next with this gorgeous guy! Your theme for him is absolutely amazing and those patterns are so beautifully artistic...it's such a brilliant and original take on this sculpt. And I still have to finish up some other bjd projects before I can focus working on my 2nd Anson, but I have purchased 3 new cans of MSC in preparation and that counts for something, right? I'm calling it progress!
I'm impressed he has PANTS! ^_^ These guys are a little more of a challenge to clothe. I look forward to seeing progress on Freyr!
Hi guyss, does any of you still have any of the anson/moment, fullset outfit? :O i would lovee to see some of them
Hehe, I'm afraid the ONLY clothes my little flowers have are the pants seen above. At some point Freyr is going to get a crazy outfit! Just...hasn't happened yet...
@Lady Ravenswood Always happy to see updates on Freyr. He is one of my favorites in this thread. Please post more of him. Hana Shonen still hasn't been worked on & now he needs a bath because he has dust & spider webs. I am such a bad dollie dad
I'm sure my Moment has quite the layer of dust as well. lol I finally gave up on my Anson and sold her. After four years and all I had done was take her apart and spray her... it was time.
Oh man! That sounds like my Anson too... ^.^" Only...I've just taken her apart...and not sprayed her... :: hides ::
I still havent been able to find my Moment but ive been slowly working on Orpha! Did some eye mods on her, and i love her even more. Body blushing on human bits done, but im still finishing the galaxy design on the petal bits for her arm. the back of her head needs touching up as well.
That eye mod is lovely! And you did an amazing job on her body blushing. Bravo! Well, I now have my stockpile of MSC so I'm finally ready to start on my Anson #2 next month. She'll be my February project since I'm sure it will take the entire month to complete her. I still need to purchase a few more art supplies and wait for some of the special things I've ordered for this project to arrive, but I should have everything I need by the beginning of next month. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I didn't just want to do extensive artwork (painting/drawing) all over those petals like I did on my first Anson, Bohemia Rose. I wanted to think outside the box this time and go for more of a multi-media approach. Since I've never done that type of art before, even on a flat surface, it's a gamble...but fortunately I'm pretty fearless when it comes to creativity with my dolls, and what's done can always be undone if need be, so I'm just going to go for it! All this has spawned a brand new character for this doll which I'm very excited about. Her name will be Ephemera (which is a big clue as to what I'll be doing, art-wise.)
Ooooo, yes, sounds exciting! I've wondered about wiping my boy and re-doing him, or doing something else with him. But... I shudder at the time it would take to wipe him down. lol I'd probably lose all my energy for the project after that!
What a delightful family! They look absolutely amazing together and give your Moment a decidedly cute edge.
I am so sad that I missed out on these beautiful sculpts during my time away from the hobby! I imagine these lovelies were priced in the four digits when they were available through DZ?
Nope, they were pretty reasonable priced considering. I just went and checked my old order on MoC and I paid 460USD for my Moment. I even got a free head since there was an event going on when they were discontinued. I have no idea what they'd go for now though second hand.
I really regret missing out on them, but at the same time, they'd probably end up like most of the ones I've seen in this thread where they sit around as I work on my idea for painting them. However, I will have to keep my eye out for a secondhand one floating around. What shades of resin were they available in? Or was white resin the only casting option?
Well i tried to post a pic of some anson pics i took, but apparently i still cant figure out how to properly link pictures here. =.=
What photo host are you using? Flikr or Photobucket...? I can talk you through Flikr, but I don't know anything about Photobucket, but I'm sure others here can. ^_^
Ah, Hana Shonen! It's amazing to me, @gaiboiozz, how he has so much personality with no face-up at all. You are absolutely magical with your boys...a virtual wizard of unique and amazing characters! I love how you bring them to life.
Progress on Anson! Still haven't thought of a name. However, dissassembly, oxy bath, reassembly, petal chip sanding and eye opening mod has been complete. Found some beautiful metallic colored beads that will make lovely eyes for her. I want to give her a bright tropical paint scheme. I'll post some mock up sketches and palettes later. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/winged_faith/bjdstuff/DSC_0213_zpsjcmuafgk.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/winged_faith/bjdstuff/_20170408_211628_zpsxqcnkxxj.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/winged_faith/bjdstuff/DSC_0245_zpsq05rnfie.jpg
Ooooo! Love the eye beads. Terrific idea! And that's still a lot of work, you aren't fooling any of us. lol Can't wait to see your mock ups. Sounds interesting.
@Spectrum_Rhapsody, how exciting that another Anson is now coming to life! I can't wait to see more as the work progresses. Using those beautiful beads for eyes was a total touch of brilliance on your part! I did my own Anson in very muted, soft tones so I'm really looking forward to seeing one done in bright tropical colors.
Exciting! Congrats @Atomiczombiephd Hm, nothing much new to report on my own flowers. Whoops. Also, this is not Dollzone...but have you all seen this Impledoll? Thought it might be of particular interest to this group.
@Atomiczombiephd, congratulations on finding a Moment of your very own! That's truly wonderful and we can't wait to see what you do with him once he arrives. @Lady Ravenswood, very, very interesting indeed! Thanks so much for sharing that link with us...that has real possibilities for a future face in my conservatory.
@PoeticSoul I know, right? I...may need her...for...purposes... No but seriously, she would probably look lovely with our flower sculpts. I am very excited to see the finished sculpt!
I love the Anson sculpt! I didn't see this doll until after the fact and I am looking for one to buy but so far I am having no luck locating one. It's truly a work of art!
Been away from home a lot due to work. Still debating on paint colors for Anson. Haven't been able to practice with my airbrush since I haven't been home. Currently hunting down some vivid lashes for the gal. Any suggestons?
Here we are... 4 years later, I can finally bump this thread myself! The WTB doll gods hath smiled upon me; I just got my tracking number for Anson! I'm over the moon and totally stoked. I started playing around with some blushing mockups... I was thinking of making her petals into leaves (as opposed to... well, petals) with things like flowers, and maybe fruit, as external components. I love seeing Ansons and Moments with "stuff" sitting inside their petals. We'll see... my first mockups, I went for red wine colors and a deep blue-green... and she looked less like a fantastical plantlady, and more like chard or beetroot nothing wrong with that, but I think I'll play with veining and verigation and see if I can come up with something more majestic-looking than table greens Her ETA is this Thursday! At the risk of it being just me in this thread: how is everyone else doing?
@Xila heartfelt congratulations on your incoming Anson! I can’t wait to see what you do with her...she’s such an amazing sculpt, and so perfect for artistic expression. My own dear Bohemia Rose has been an absolute joy and inspiration to me for all these years. I really should get around to taking some new photos of her.
Oh! Congratulations! Love your ideas so far! Sounds lovely! My own moment is sitting snug in my doll case. Still waiting for me to continue with his headcap. Life was not kind to his project, I'm afraid. But hopefully some day. I no longer own Anson. So good to see everyone in here again.
@PoeticSoul Bohemia Rose is always a wonder, I revisit her pictures from time to time! I love her comfortable habitats, I would love to rearrange some of my "doll room" to give all my dolls some space of their own (there's nothing stopping me from doing so, apart from the fact it's a mess!!) @Lady Ravenswood it's good to see you!! I love your Moment, regardless of how complete he is. The colors are so unique yet harmonious. these dolls are a great canvas for detailed designs
Friend: haha, i wanna paint dolls again, but i don’t wanna own them. but i wanna paint one!! Me: HAVE I GOT A PROPOSAL FOR YOU. ya'll i'm super excited, there's been FILIGREE and WIG MAKING and there will be MOSS. After owning the poor thing and leaving it blank for about More Years Then I Want To Admit To it's very exciting to have it finished.
That sounds awesome! Can't wait to see @Nasa Hahaha, and the end is also familiar. I've always planned to add moss to my Moment as well, so it makes me so excited to hear about moss on your flower!
