DollZone Mini Discussion Part 2

I'm interested too, their jeans look awesome. I have a jacket that I'm assuming is from their "punk suit" - it has the same patch in the same place - and it fits my DZ mini but is a bit snug when buttoned. Not so tight he can't wear it, but if he was a real person he'd definitely not button it. It doesn't really suit him anyway, though!

 

I always love lurking and seeing such lovely pictures...

Quick question for DZ owners: does anyone know how DZ NS Pink compares to recent batches of DOD resin? The few links I found searching all had broken images. I'm not interested in making a hybrid, but I own a DOC and don't want to choose NS Pink for my future!Jake if it looks too similar. I prefer some contrast.

My humble apologies if there's somewhere else that discusses this. Please point me in the right direction.

Thank you. I really like those blue eyes in her too. We tried every color in the house on her. They were all pretty, but these seemed to suit her. (Though the browns that zouzou sent with her were neck and neck.)

We've been looking through the gallery now that she's here in person to compare her to the Feilians and Binlis, and she's really a Binli. Her profile is a dead giveaway, now that I've seen it. Her eyes may have been very slightly opened, but I really don't know. So that explains why she reminded me so much of one. I'm just super happy with her.

Quick question for anyone with experience sueding a DZ MSD, do you have any recommendations for suede that isn't too thick. I'm sueding my SD girl anyhow, and Chantal could totally use her ankles done. (Classic DZ ankle roll, LOL) Hotglue just isn't for me from experience; peels off too fast. So I was figuring I'd do Mirai and Chantal at the same time. I'm just wondering if the smaller MSD sockets will need a thinner suede than the SD.

 

Ryoko11: are you talking about to protect the joints? if so, you can get the little disks from the DZ store, they make them for 1/3 and 1/4

i might just not be that good searching, but which company's cloths fits the 1/4 dolls the best?

 

It's not to protect the joints. It's to provide more traction in the joints so that they pose better. People glue a little bit of suede into the socket of the joints so that the ball rubs up against it and doesn't slip around in the joint so freely. I found a bag of suede remnants at Michael's today, and it's full of white suede in a variety of thicknesses. I'm going to try the thinnest in Chantal probably tomorrow. I've got her apart for a thorough cleaning (gotta take her body out of the peroxide bath now), and I might spray her with some UV cut before reassembling her. I'm thinking about blushing her breasts, so might as well seal the rest while I'm at it.

I'll check how she fits in the Dollmore clothes that I got my DM girl and tell you how those do on her. She is definitely thinner, but that might not matter much with dresses. I'm curious about the pants.

 

I'm loving all the spam (new dollies are always a treat ^__^) but does anyone have some FEI spam they'd like to share? I'd really love to see owner pics!

I just got Chantal and Mirai back together, and the sueding was a success. Both girls pose much better now. My fingers are still kinda sore from restringing though. It's usually easier for me than that; guess I need to up the weight training.

Tachiik, I can try DM clothes on the female DZ body for you after finishing up dinner.

 

LolaWants... - It's kind of sad how few there are out there since she's such an adorable sculpt, but I don't mind to much because it just means that our few are more special and unique ^_^

ryoko11, your Chantal is totally gorgeous! I saw the sales thread for her and thought she was just beautiful. I'm glad she went to a good home. You're right that she does look a bit like a Binli. I've been waiting for a Feilian from Denver Doll Emporium since January. They let me know that it could be up to an eight week wait and I'm starting to get very impatient now that I've seen your pretty Chantal.

 

landlocked mermaid: are you getting full set? I saw Feilian at the shop. she was really cute they had her sitting down haha so the default cloths looked like a giant laced hankerchief. but she photos very pretty

 

Man, Dollzone keeps sucking me in even when I'm trying to plan for other companies' dolls. I saw a shop picture of a Meilin and she was so cute, and those Yumi girls are really nice too! And then I still want a girl Hid, so now I'm really in trouble if I ever start making money again.
Now I'm on the Chinese language website and there's another doll there I want. Once I find the English I'ma gonna figure out who that fellow there is and want him too! O_O

No, just getting the doll by herself. I think she will be able to swap clothes and wigs I already have for my other MSD-sized dolls. I ordered her with a default face-up but after seeing some of the cool pics of her on here with custom faceups, I'm thinking of getting her a new one.

I took Lena outside Friday evening for pictures, but I've been so busy with work this weekend that I've barely had enough time to sleep let alone get online and post pictures.
It was ridiculously windy, and I was sure I was gonna lose her of have her fall over if I didn't go inside when I did, so I didn't get a whole lot of pictures the first time I went out; then I ended up waiting to long for the wind to subside so by the time I went back out it was to dark to get many good shots.
Anyway, on with the Aimi spam.

MikaRen - HALLO! ^-^ Wibs~! I just came back myself, so don't feel bad.

 

I didn't think I'd be able to make undies for my girl because I'm pretty horrible at hand sewing, and my machine would eat anything that small, but I managed to make some that are not by any means perfect but they get the job done.
I bought pairs of knee high stockings at the store (you know, the cheap kind that you can get in a bubble gum machine ball for like 25cents) and I cut the band off, then sewed across the bottom opening that I'd just cut with my machine, then cut leg holes. And there you have it, instant undies.
They have unfinished edges, so they will fray eventually; but Lena has been wearing one pair for about a week now, and even though her hip joints keep trying to eat them they're still in tact. They don't fit perfectly 'cause I didn't cut the leg holes quite right, but at least she's got something.

 

Ara* - sorry I don't have a photo of the scar on my Hid, none of good quality anyway. I was pretty unimpressed with the scar, just looked like a scribble of reddish lines...so I removed it and did my own version instead lol

[cause my pp has some issues XB] I consider buying those fancy fancy ones, ya know, with the bras, and costs like 5o, 6o+ per set? My string from Volks came today, I was finally able to restring my Tamar, and now shes not floppy at all, it's great. Her new eyes haven't come yet though and I don't have any spares so I'm waiting on those I'm hoping to take pictures of my Mo this weekend though.

 

I have a Digital SLR, is that what you mean? It is really nice, but I'm still learning how to use it. Gotta find my SLR For Dummies book...

bulletsBANQ: He's on the new DZ body. I just really like the MNF hands...eventhough they are too small. lol And, I own an entry level Olympus. It's an Olympus E-410. I think I have reached the point in my life that I am ready for a higher end camera (aka upgrade). But, you don't HAVE to get a digital SLR to get this look. Bridge cameras work well. That's what I had first, then I upgraded when I wanted more options. I think you can probably find the Oly E-410 really cheap now though.

Hello!

Man, I've just started using my point-and-shoot and Photoshop together to make nice pictures. I've been a little lazy to pull out the tripod, get the lighting all fancy, then edit the heck out of the levels and curves. I made some really nice pictures of a few sculptures of mine this morning, so now I can't wait to try the same thing with my Plum sometime. I am thinking of upgrading my current camera to an SLR in the fall, so I am going to try to improve my photography, which I hope will lead to a ton more Plum spam in the next few weeks. X3
Also, I'm still trying to get my sister in here with a Feilian.
