Thank you. She had no horns or even mods to allow horns. Its weird that when I googled Dollzone Lilith it kept showing me results for Doll Leaves Lilith. I will try Pandora and see what shows.

 

Hello! I just ordered a Dollzone Mo head I bought off of Ebay with his COA and original box - the owner never ended up giving him a body or a faceup, so it's like he's brand new. I always liked his sculpt and I'm excited to get him home! She's actually going to be a girl, as I plan to attempt a hybridization with my Doll Leaves girl body type 1, as they're both WS and have both yellowed in a way that I think they'll match nicely. I'm very excited! Happy to join this thread with my hybrid in a few months (it might take that long because the first owner is outside the US)!

 

@Ru-chan Heartfelt congratulations on such a great find! I’m really looking forward to seeing what you do with this hybrid girl once she arrives.

 

Update on Snow Fulai. Since I last posted I have stripped the dye from the hooves, wings and tail and redyed them to match the rest of the body. Unfortunately, the pretty blue-grey must have been a fluke in the dye lots because it was impossible to replicate outside of that one bottle, so I have to just settle for the purple-grey instead for my gargoyle's stone skin. Got a start on some of the sueding on the joints, so hopefully that will remedy some of the standing pose issues I heard about with this sculpt. Ordered a super strong magnet off of Ebay tonight, so when that arrives I can use it as a stencil to mark the size of the recess I need to carve inside the bust piece, so I can glue it inside the back and hopefully this bish should be strong enough to hold the damn wings up. Need to purchase stronger magnets for her horns as well, since one of the unfortunate side effects of dyeing a doll is that I run the risk of the high water temps cooking the strength out of the magnets (yay...science). Overall, I am just happy to be making forward progress again. Been almost a year since I last attempted anything with her due to the dye conundrum last time around.

Oh lord the mini s-hooks on those Snow Fulai hooves were a nightmare to restring! I had to pinch them closed onto the elastic just to keep them from falling off when I tried to loop the hooks onto the hoof pieces. Why so smol DollZone?! WHY SO SMOL?!! *ahem* That aside, I have the legs restrung now and a chopstick holding the elastics up outside the lower torso piece. Waiting on the magnet I ordered so I can mod inside the upper torso, but Ebay estimates it won't be here until March despite already having shipped (...yay for ordering from China.....). I guess I could go through my eyes and try to decide on a pair for here in the meantime? Not sure what else I could work on. Still haven't gotten a feel for her attire/accessories yet. I suppose I could also shift my focus back to Anson and continue building her outfit. I don't feel confident enough in my paint skills to do her head and arms yet.

 

@Spectrum_Rhapsody Why not remove the magnets from her horns before you dye them?

 

I didn't learn about the heat damaging the magnets until after I had dyed her the first three times. So by the time I was aware, it was already too late.

After so long my little death reaper Akumu (Dollzone Neruga) is complete. I am so thankful to everyone that made this possible but specially "airimirofgondor" from instagram who did the amazing body dye and airbrush job. I couldn't be happier with her and now I can share her with all of you.

@gaiboiozz Oh how amazing she is! What a gorgeous job on her coloring…airimirofgondor really did you proud! I love the shape of her wings, and their color really shows them off spectacularly. She’s a fascinating addition to your awesome crew.

 

Nice! Your Neruga turned out wonderful! I love the faded dip dye look. My Neruga is still in pieces in a shoebox. It is lovely to see a finished one. You should introduce her when you're ready!

 

Hi guys, I have fallen in love with many dollzone sculpts lately but I have heard that yellowing can be a bit faster compared to other companies. Is that true? If so, would you mind sending me a pic of yellowing? I heard that white skin can turn lemon yellowish while peach turns to a natural colour, just a bit darker.

 

My ws is about 4/5 years old and a mellow creamy color. White related, but not a white as it was, but not lemon, either
But they do mellow fairly quick, all my dzs were starting to mellow after 6 months and significantly different around a year
I hear dz changed their white again though just recently

 

Leliana is a hybrid on a DZ body. I've had her over 10 years (LINK) Yggdrasil was already 4 years old in the picture below. As you can see, neither of my WS DZ dolls is "lemon yellowish" even though I've had both of them for years

 

I found the pink changed quicky (several months) for a couple of my DZs/DCs, so I've been ordering peach instead. Peach is almost white, but I'm hoping it mellows to a light natural tone.

DZ used to be a white-white, but then changed to a creamy white. They did end up having a limited ordering period for old white a few years ago. Not knowing the change had happened when it did, and getting the creamy white and was thinking they sent me yellow instead was weird.

 

Okay, update on Snow Fulai! Discovered she has a heart that has shown up under her breast bone. I dunno if it was someone at DZ being cute with their sanding since it was a WS doll and they thought no one would ever see it, or if the dye just happened to disperse in such a way to create it. It is hard to see in photographs, but I tried my best here.
The super strong magnet finally arrived in the mail and wasn't any stronger than the one DZ sent with her, so I did some research and stumbled upon your Neruga's back mod, gaiboiozz! So I decided to take a stab at it tonight and the glue is now curing. After I get home from work tomorrow, I will test out the hold and see if it was successful!

In my experience, the yellowing of the DZ isn't super bad. But all my DZ sculpts have been secondhand, so I can't say how long or what version of white resin it was. It just has more of a mellow tone to it.

 

My DZ Shoyo from 2011 seems kind of ivory colored, the photo in the profile is from 2-3 years ago and the pic I use for my avatar is from around 2016 or earlier- so a lot depends on lighting tbh, she looks paler in bright daylight at least. I hope that helps give a sense of her yellowing, though if the resin is somehow volatile perhaps she was just a good batch. It's been a while (over 10 years!!) though so things have probably changed a lot in that duration, whether for the better or worse idk.

I've been looking into a DZ Rory hybrid with a Dream Valley body, since I've seen at least one resin comparison where it looked fairly close and that's important for me w/ hybrids, but I'm actually a little concerned that a. it may have been old DZ white I saw in the comparison or b. the possibility that the new white from DZ is the one with the rumored yellowing issues. I did some figuring out around 2016 or thereabouts that the (now old) DZ/Doll Chateau white matched Angel of Dream and therefore Doll Love white, which is how I got my last hybrid put together, but I know next to nothing about the new DZ white so, *shrugs* I guess I need to find more information? The character planned will have a fairly complex full body tattoo so yellowing is definitely something I want to be prepared for.

 

Hmm, has anyone else had joint and neck snapping on a fullset doll? Snapping like you try to pose it and it just always kinda slips like the stringing was too tight?, I guess

 

My DZ dolls haven't had too much trouble with stringing. I usually always suede my doll's joints for poseability and loosen the stringing if it seems super tight, that way the tension on the resin is reduced and the joints are cushioned to protect and help grip for posing. Even if the stringing doesn't need loosening, I'll usually suede just because it helps me get to know my dolls. Snapping may not always mean the stringing is tight, it could just be lack of grip. Some dolls just have really smooth resin. To check the tension, gently tug on a part of the doll to see if you can separate to see the elastic. If this happens easily, the stringing is not too tight (may be too loose). If there is a reasonable amount of resistance, but you can still accomplish it, the stringing is likely where it should be. If you are struggling to the point where you absolutely cannot expose the string without assistance or fear of damage, it may be too tight.

 

Well, I happen to have several different types of fabrics and leather around so I'm gonna try sueding her and see if it'll help. Would be nice for her to be able to look forward without me keeping a hold on her head

 

I ended up ditching the hybrid idea and am planning to get Rory on the 42cm girl body from Dollzone- I have to save up a bit but I'm very excited!! Still waiting to figure out resin color, I'll probably watch as dolls are made with the new WS and owners post pics, though... given the wait time it's just as likely that I'll have the funds before then... barring threat of discontinuation, I'm willing to wait a bit (and focus on my project to have an off topic vinyl doll cosplay as the same character ^w^ ) but I'm still hoping to put together my plan for this beautiful doll.

 

Had to share my $5 Etsy find for Iris! I know I need to work on painting her and getting her eyes/wig/clothes finished...But I can't help but buy her cute props. I did make her a choker and some ankle wraps (since shoes aren't an option because hooves).

 

Love, love that choker! The lace ankle wraps are clever, not something I've ever thought of doing for my own hoofed girls

@mangameow The dragon Chuan re-release page had a picture of the whole dragon doll in moon white (along with peach white). It's no longer on ACBJD but maybe it's archived somewhere. I myself have ordered a DC Eunice in that skin color because based on the dragon promo pics it basically looks like a grey tinged white.

 

oh you're right! thanks for mentioning it, i was mostly uninterested in the dragon dolls so i skimmed over the release announcement so i never saw them. i found the release archived well on bjdivas (i'm unsure if i am allowed to link it since they were banned? mods please feel free to remove the link if not!) so the pictures are still out there! i've pasted a few of them below for future reference.

the moon white is really gorgeous, i'm hoping they do another release of it because i'd definitely like another doll in this colour. :'D i actually think i've ended up wanting to swap my little snow onto a DC body so i hope both dc and dz did well with this even LOL

What clothing fits the b45-017 body? The measurements make me think slim msd on tops and regular msd on bottoms.

Not sure if this will help but I have the boy body, and most shirts fit pretty loose, I'd say slim msd shirts fit the best. As for the pants regular msd size pants work well. Hopefully someone with the girl body will be able to help you better though!

She's up at both Denver Doll and Alice's Collections, and I'm planning on getting her. I figure she can wear MNF clothes, where midi skirts turn into mini skirts, and leggings into capris. I think I'll have to get the flat feet, too, since her regular feet don't look like they would fit into any shoes.

I'm also looking at Penny -- does anyone have her? I haven't found owners pictures anywhere!

 

I'm totally ordering The Hanged Man, I love their weird creepy Tarot line dolls soooo much. I'm hoping she'll look nice next to my DZ Hermit. I can't decide what color to get her in though. Moon white, Moon gray, or plain Gray, the struggle is real.

She SHOULD fit minifee stuff ok. I can fit Hermit into Minifee tops and bottoms alright, though she is very long of limb. I'm thinking Hanged Man will fit them better unless they've made her proportions really thin.

So I leave for a decade and everything changes.

I still have my Megi and Tintan, and my daughter is now old enough to want to make TikTok videos of them with me and I can trust that she will treat them well. But I hopped onto the website to see what was new in the Dollzone world and saw that practically all their sculpts were gone! The Mo I'd always intended to purchase - so many others. All vanished.

I showed my husband, making my peace with missing out, but then my boy came to me the following day having found a Noel for sale second hand and asking me if the price was ok because he wanted to buy him for my birthday. So all of a sudden, after eleven years, I have a Noel coming to me. (Oh my gosh, what am I going to name him? What is he going to be LIKE?)

And since I hate for my dolls not to have a companion, I was looking around to see what had changed at Denver Doll Emporium and noticed that they still have Hals available even though the doll-zone website doesn't? Sensing a need to sneak in an order before something else disappeared - I ordered a Scarecrow Hal 2 female version to be a friend to my incoming Noel.

I noticed that Denver Doll says it takes 8 - 9 months for Dollzone to fill orders with face ups - is that accurate? I don't mind (see above about waiting ELEVEN years - but . . . now that I'm back in this and wanting to make some Tiktoks with my girl - I'm really looking forward to the incoming dolls and fleshing out their characters, seeing how they interact with my established resin loves).

Sorry - wow, this is long - didn't mean to disrupt the Hanged Man discussion too much. She is gorgeous too - both versions, such a haunting creepy vibe. I forgot how much I loved looking at BJDs.

Congrats on your new Dollzone dollies, sweetsknit3. I also came back to discover Mo-Wen was gone, but only after two years away. That was a few years ago now (maybe seven years ago?). My leave wasn't that long, and I already own a Mo, but I wanted to own one unmodified, and I wasn't here to see DZ was discontinuing him (and many more!). I still keep coming back to DoA, after all these years, just to keep my hopes up that DZ will re-release Mo one day (just for me, pretty pelase!). Lol! (:

I know they won't, and I'm probably just trying really hard to grasp at stings, but I really wish I would have known at that time they did massive old sculpt discontinuation. I would have been able to afford just Mo's head and that's all I really want (and wanted for a long time), and they did offer heads separately. So, it hurts more than it should that I missed him -- kind of like a jagged little rock in my shoe, type of bothersome and always there. DX

 

I was away for years too, just rately looking into what was going on. I missed the big discontinuations and now really just hope they'll do an old sculpts event for a birthday some year, they have re-released discontinued sculpts for an event before, after all. Or y'know, wish I come across this boy I missed out on in the secondhand market.

 

Just ordered a purple snow through DDE! I am so sad that carter was discontinued, though... I'd have loved a purple carter girl I also have a NPS snow on order that I placed a few months ago on Alice's, but I'll be using her body for a hybrid... purple snow may meet a similar fate - I've been considering on modifying a minifee celine for the purple body, eventually - but time will tell!

 

I really like the human version of The Hanged Man, but I'm not sure if I want to order one now, or if I'd rather wait. Does anyone know what Dollzone's wait times are like right now?

 

I picked up a DZ Chun and a couple other non-DZ dolls that DDE had in stock. I don’t see a lot of owner pics though? Looks like he was originally released earlier this year, and I just came back from a 4yr hiatus last month. All I know is that he’s an adorable cervitaur/deer centaur.

 

Hee hee! I haven't been around DoA for ages either, mostly to protect myself against buying more dolls ... I have very little idea of what's been going on in the doll world lately. BUT I've finally, finally finished the looks of 3 dolls that I've owned for years! So I actually popped by to show Gaheris, my Dreaming Hal.

Scarecrow Hal was my first ever doll. I still own him and I still love the sculpt to bits. My oldest Hal (WS) needs new clothes, but my second, Dreaming Hal is all done and ready.

 

Hooray for having him done! We don’t get to see the Dreaming Hal that often so this photo is a real treat. He’s truly wonderful.

 

@Sigune too cute, I love hal as well! I have a scarecrow Hal too, but he’s a hybrid on the original doll chateau kid body. He’s my skinny twig.
He’s stored away right now with the rest of my crew but I’ll see if I can dig up a picture of him.
