DollZone mini Discussion Part 15

I'm in love with the new girls, particularly Venus Halo. She's so beautiful. I love every last detail and plan on purchasing a fullset. I know the wait time will be quite long but will be so worthwhile. I haven't fallen this hard for a doll in a long time.

 

I really liked the new girls, especially Mist Strayer!

 

Mist Strayer is distressingly tempting. If they're not limited I really need to cool it for a while, but that plug tail they both have is absolutely adorable...

Oh, no, why did I go look? Now I'm in love with that new boy, Rory, and I wasn't going to get any more mini boys. I have no money and so many other dolls on the list.... Does anyone have that B45-018 body yet? I'd love to see some owner pictures.

It’s a beautiful body, I ordered it for my Lance head which sadly doesn´t fit, DV Vine fits nicely on it but i regret not being able to bond with male dolls...

I have just ordered a Mist Strayer and a b45-012 body in old white for my Lance head...
I’d prefer Mist grey with face-up and blush, but the price of the fullset is above my psychological limit.

 

@thessalyrose I have Cole, my Ivan on the 018 body and love it~ He's got lovely long hands and I adore the overall ganglyness of him aha

Hello all! I’m considering buying a Dollzone msd girl body for a hybrid, and I was wondering if anyone had experience with the 012 or 017 bodies?

I was particularly wondering if the 012 could fit into MiniFee sized clothing since the measurements seem similar but in pictures the body looks much more curvy.

I’m leaning towards the 017 because i think the neck size would work better for my hybrid (DiM Flowne) but if the 012 can share clothes with my MiniFee then it would be worth it to figure out a neck solution.

 

Thanks, guys, those are great photos. I have a tall mini boy already and I wanted a shorter, younger-looking one. Looks like Rory will be younger-looking but not shorter. Hmm. He's already telling me his name, guys. I'm doomed.....

Are Dollzone likely to bring Tan back? I really want a Tan Hal! I wanted him on the now discontinued 009 body but sadly that'll never be an option.

EDIT: Nevermind, saw a post it was DC'd permanently. That's a shame.

 

DZ has discontinued tan before and then brought it back, so it could happen again in the future. But you may have to wait a while for it.

 

They say that, but it's never true. I ordered a tan Hal last summer, and was hoping that they'd release it again this year, but it ended up being old white.

Just keep an eye out. That's all.

 

My dear deceased fairy, Bellamorte, a Dollzone Tarot the Star on a DC body (inspired by the book “Lady Cottington’s Pressed Fairy Book”) got a new outfit.

 

@PoeticSoul Your Bellamorte (awesome name btw) is so relatable in this picture, if I may say so. I need to just collapse on a comfy sofa for a few years or so, she looks so peaceful... XD

Does anyone have a tan doll from the recent tan event they did (just realised that'd be unlikely due to wait times!)? Or a very recent tan doll before they discontinued it? There's a dealer that seems to have tan skin dolls in stock, but I don't want to get a doll that's overly orange as some of them have been a few months back before they ended the skin colour.

 

@Rinoa I don't think enough time has passed yet! I did order a tan doll in that event but I expect to wait another three months for it.

 

@Rinoa If the dealer has them in stock you could ask them to take a picture in daylight or even a comparisson picture with normal or white skin ^.^ I know Angelesque is always willing to do so, so i'm sure other dealers will too if it might help you to buy that doll!

Here is a quick shot of my Rory who just arrived!
It lists 14mm as recommended eye size which is a dirty lie Luckily they sent him with some 12mms.
Does anyone have recommendations for shoes for these newer boys? Theyre so slim that regular MSD shoes look like clown boots.

 

I can't wait to see him painted, Cydril. How does he pose? How long was the wait for him?

 

He is a bit floppy but overall hes a great poser. He can hold a pose touching his face and sit kneeling and indian style. The wait was shockingly short! Just three months through ACBJD. I know other people in the waiting room are on 6-7 months.

 

My brown Neruga is currently at BJDivas! Not sure when i can bring her home (she's not paid off yet) but she's so close! I haven't seen any in the wild yet so I'm super excited.

And the eye size they say the dolls have is pretty much always one too big xD I always wait with buying eyes for my dolls until i have them because of this, so i can meassure their eye size myself xD

I'm really hoping they release at least human versions. Both girls are really cute.

 

The dealer didn't have tan in, typical with Taobao dealers! They have options listed they can't fulfil. I may have to settle for yellow skin, but I'm worried about DZ's inconsistency and it not being what I would like.

 

It's typical for any dealer to have options listed that they haven't had time to go back and fix. They would have mentioned to you if they couldn't fulfill like now. Why are you trying to place an order off of Taobao and not with the other dealers that deal with English?

I ordered from the light tan event but I got 3 dolls with fullset and 2 with body blushing. So I'm in for a long one. lol Can't help you in that regard with the tan skin.

I also ask for pics when I bought my Neruga and Snow Fulai in special brown from Jeeryama before purchasing. It never hurts to ask to see pics from dealers if they have them in stock.

If you want, you can buy white/peach skin and dye it tan yourself or send it off to a dyer.

I recently took a *daylight* photo of my Tintan! I only just redid her faceup, but I'm thinking I'll be redoing it again since I don't feel totally satisfied... She's on a newer yellow skin body, which perfectly matches the yellowing of the OLD OLD normal skin.

 

@Haruhi, it’s such a delight to see an older Dollzone Tintan sculpt! She has such a unique charm!

 

Oh boy is she old! I think she's at least 10 years old now!

What size elastic should I be using to re-string? Tintan is way too tight to even think about changing out her eyes without at least 2 people home.

Not really an answer to the stringing, but with my old school Megi I just don't put the s-hook in the headcap. It's too difficult to mess with that way, so I just use tape or putty.

Sorry I only saw your reply just now, it's because they have some limited items in stock, so I was hoping they had ordered some extra tan dolls to sell and had a tan Hal in stock, I was told straight away they didn't. None of the English dealers had tan as an option in stock. I was just trying my luck and hoping.

 

No problem! It's uncommon for them to stock tan and/or other colored resin since it's not as popular. They don't want to risk inventory but there are some who do. It's just luck at this point. lol

I wish you luck waiting for a tan Hal. I'd love one myself.

Honestly I kinda wish I got him in the old yellow skin, it's a beautiful colour! I did email them asking if they could add that colour as another option but they never replied.

 

I asked them a question and never got a reply too. It seems like they don't replying too much to questions not directly concerning an order or something. Odd.

Maybe ask through a dealer to ask on your behalf? I did that and it seems to work better. lol They did old white skin, don't see why they can't do old yellow skin as a promo period.

 

The did the old yellow skin as a promo period a couple years ago (not long after they initially discontinued it), and I got the impression they weren't keen on offering it again. I ordered a Carter head and Sawarieda to make a siren and asked about replacement parts if anything got broken and was basically told not to break anything (she actually arrive with one of her petals broken in transit, so that response was very helpful) Speaking of Leviathan, I should probably get cracking on finishing her up.
@Rinoa I totally agree, the old yellow skin was really a gorgeous color, and if they every brought it back again I'd get Leviathan a second head (probably a Carte-1, just to change things up a bit)

OKAY, my fav doll is a Fairyland Sircca head on the modded body of Dollzones Mirai, so it’s been nice to look at clothes labeled only msd rather than hunting for minifee clothes. ANYWAYS, the Mirai body’s feet are flat and I couldn’t find heel feet for this body, has anyone tried bjd heels that would work with a flat foot?

 

I did email them about the old yellow and possibly adding it as an option like they did with peach, but I think I sent it to the wrong email. Perhaps if they get a few email requests for it they would consider it? Or at the very least, offer it in an event every so often.

I may ask Jeeryama also if she could forward this info on, as I have a layaway going for a body with them currently.

 

Hello ladies and gents. I've been long dormant in the BJD hobby, all my dolls boxed up to prevent yellowing. But then I checked my old email and saw I had a bunch of promotional messages from a vendor I've used before. So I thought, what's new in the BJD world? Lets take a peak! And then I saw Doll Zone's Kerze. My heart sped up. She is beauty. She is slightly eerie with a dash of adorable. I love her. I need her. The Canadian dollar is TERRIBLE atm so she would end up costing me way too much. (About $600 including shipping after the conversion) So I tried to forget about her. But she keeps creeping back into my mind.

Does anyone have any owner pictures of her? I've been searching with no luck. Any pictures would be much appreciated!

 

What I really wanted were a green skin DC Irma human boy hybrid. It were a very important character in the current BJD family that I have been working on. I did the biggest mistake ever, forgetting to pay attention the DC notice board. I had dolls at the time on my list that I felt I had to prioritize. And I figured that after I had finished saving up and ordering some of those dolls I could move forward to ordering my Irma hybrid next. Then when I were ready I found out that the Irma sculpt now are on the discontinued list. I lost my chance to get a doll that would be based on an OC that I used to have, really sad about that as this character is something special to me

I thought that the next best thing then would be to order a gray skin DZ Carter, so that's what I've done. I ordered the head and body separate so that I could order him on the 47cm boy body. I'm disappointed about the Irma sculpt but I'll do what ever I can to make the Carter sculpt work as well. Looking very forward to getting him home despite of my disappointment.

 

I think Kieren is old enough for his very own BJD. What do you guys think?
