I adore him personally, he looks just like an original character a friend of mine has, so I loved him the second I saw him

 

I ordered him too even though he wasn't even on my list. He'll be my first doll in 4 years. He's darling. I can't wait to see him.

 

I've ordered one too. He has such an unusual face -I just had to get him. So far, I have not seen many owner pics. Mine should be arriving this month.

 

I love everything about Dollzone Benjamin, but his nose. I just wish it was a little smaller, less pointed. I want him so much but I'm not skilled enough to do a mod on his nose. I think It could grow on me though.

Do any of you own this sculpt? What do you think?

 

I really like that it's a non-traditional face it would be nice to see more varied sculpts!

My Benjamin won't be coming for a while yet. Doll zone forgot to make my order. Oh well.

 

I ordered one as well! I never expected my first bjd to be a 1/4 scale doll, but I saw those sad, deep set eyes, upturned nose, and slight underbite and just knew I couldn't pass him up! As someone who isn't into the cutesy-child-like dolls, I really love Benjamin's unique mature (?) face.

 

I actually really like his face, his nose might be a bit to pointy but you can Always sand that down, he seems like a perfect horror character to me, and i love those kind of dolls since they usually look different from the rest.

 

How easy do you think it will be to sand down his nose? I'm scared I'll mess it up. Would you just use an ordinary sandpaper block? How would I make it smooth?

 

Personally I adore him I don't really see him as ugly at all, quite the opposite to be honest! I may order him at some point as his aesthetic would fit in quite well with my eclectic looking group

 

dolly holly -I think it would be pretty easy to sand down his nose with sandpaper. To get it smooth you would need some 600 grit sandpaper. Also a must have is a face mask as the resin dust is toxic. Another option is to send him off to a modder and let them work their magic.

 

Thanks for your reply, @kurogane ! That sounds simple enough I think. I'd like to try doing it myself as I think I'm capable, but I'd just be so nervous! And I'd definitely get a mask too

I've decided, that he's definitely my next dolly purchase! I can't resist his little face. I might even get used to that nose of his.

I LOVE dollzone Benjamin, and his face is really cute. I tend to prefer very expressive and different sculpts. When you get him, could you tell me if he comes with both a hammer arm and a normal arm? I ordered Dollzone Vita-2 in November with the Scorpio event doll, and I hope she comes in soon!

 

Hi @Len11999, Congrats on your Vita-2, shes so lovely. I thought about getting her myself!
I think for the Benjamin, the hammer arm only comes with fullset. If you order him nude you wont get the hammer arm, just the normal body. You can order the arm separately though - for extra £20 unpainted!

So I am actually pretty pleased with their new "Noel" boy looking like a revamped version of Mo. I have a Mo head on a DC body and have been pretty nervous about what I will do if he ever gets damaged since they discontinued Mo's sculpt. Noel is close enough that he could be a decent replacement if I ever need.

 

@Alaia I was thinking the same thing. He does look a bit like Mo

I was pretty surprised when they discontinued Mo, since he has always been one of their most popular sculpts. But seeing Noel I wonder if maybe it was because they wanted to update his look some to match a bit better with how their dolls look now.

 

I'm really liking the Noel head, it's a return to the older style for Dollzone.

I love the new minis Dollzone just released---their aesthetic reminds me of some of their older sculpts I adore . Won't be buying either but I look forward to popping by this thread to see how other owners customize them!

 

I was wondering why he looked familiar. You guys are right, he does have a Mo/Megi vibe going on. I am kind of tempted, but want to see which body they are using first. My Mo might like a brother!

 

Alices reckon it's the new 014 body quidam Noel, 45cm Doll Zone Boy - BJD Dolls, Accessories - Alice's Collections What I really like about that is the neck is small for a midi boy - so it will fit the Angel of Dream midi girl body just fine I think - would make a super-cute girl too, and that is a lovely body I used to have it for my Pandora head ^_^

I'm not super familiar with the newer bodies, but that one looks decent. The last time I looked at the bodies was at the first new batch release when they had big hips. The 014 seems to have less of that.

Does anyone have the 014 male body and can speak for how it poses? Does it fit decently in standard clothes?

I wanted to share my Carter - and make a confession: I have had him for about a year now and this is only his first face-up! (I did it today). So he has been sitting, patiently waiting for me to pay him a little attention - All year long - in the back of a bookshelve (in a darkend room).
Shame on me! He is so cute. Bet nobody else has been this neglectant with their bjd?

Mine sat around for 6 months with no faceup, I finally gave him one, then another six months on a shelf never being touched. Then he went to one dollmeet....came home and became this.

amazing faceup on your Carter Cyador - well done! I'm a terrible one for doll neglect, but that's why i prefer dolls to pets - they don't mind neglect!

She is lovely Heavenlywater - I've not seen a side profile pic of Gill and she has such a cute face! As to your question usually it's best to get head and body together, although I did get very different shades of pink for my separate Lola head and her body, a year or so ago, but she had a very pink coloured faceup, so she looked fine on the very pink body, even though her head was paler. So really if there is a difference, the faceup can hide it

As far as neglect goes....I've got heads and full dolls that are 2+ years old that either still don't have bodies or face-ups. xD

 

But you have this sculpt?! Both in the closed and open eyed version. It is worse - I had your battle damaged Carter open on Flickr on my screen while doing my boys face-up! Not a copy as you see, but as a constant reminder that I can try for lots of colour and the result will be marvelous!

How do you mean that your boy came home like this? Did you do the face-up there?

 

If it makes anyone feel better I haven't taken photos of Morgen for like 2 years now lol but I still love him ; u ;

I've finished my layaway for my tan Benjamin, and I'm sooooo excited.
I don't know if anyone else has a Benjamin in tan, as I haven't seen it before.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if he'll fit in slim mini clothes?
I'm going to go for a super pastel look for him and all the cute clothes I'm finding on etsy are slim mini.
I'd like to start shopping around for him soon.

My Benjamin is still waiting for his DC body. Four months, not so long, lol.

I had the DZ body he came with and I don't think the thin msd cloths will fit. The hip and butt area is quite wide. I got some msd clothes from Dollmore and they fit, but I had to struggle to get the pants over the hip.

One other thing that bothers me is that the pants and shirt sleeves are too short for the DZ body. I guess the arms and legs are longer than most msd's?
