I wish I had spam to get second post... haha My husband needs to hurry with his ideas so I can face up his guy!

 

I haven’t taken or posted photos of my DZ Mo-wen in two-years,
I feel terrible. XP In my defense, I am terrible at sewing and making
smaller clothes is such an ordeal for me. Ayway, I just got new eyes
for my Mo-wen, named Mideel and I thought I would share (for a change!).




The color is not exactly what I wanted for him, but I love the small irises. (:

@Enzyme: Those eyes look stunning! The iris size is great and they don't look gappy, either! Where did they come from?

 

Designedforsmiles, they are gorgeous in real life as well, a bit more vibrant than they show in my photos!
They are Dreamingtreestudio eyes. They leave very little gaps, as opposed to all the glass eyes I've tried in him,
that leave massive gaps (and most have huge irises as well, which I'm not very fond of). Hope that helps. (:

Oh yes. I mourn missing her ordering period or I'd have gotten 14mm small iris eyes for the Mo we have. I tried 12mm glass and they were gappy so I ordered 14mm glass. They are a good fit but the iris is too big for my taste. Oh well. She'll be back January so I'll wait and order then.

I took lena out for pictures the other day 'cause she got a not really new "new" shirt that I thought was pretty awesome. and also I realized I hadn't taken any good pictures of her with her camera since I'd put the strap on it.

the camera is a takara tomy pentax keychain that I modified to attach a strap
it borders on to big, but I think it works well enough.

 

I always order from Captured in glass, you can do custom eyes 14mm base with the iris of 12 or really whatever size you prefer

I should be getting some from her for my Megi maybe this week.

I just notice, even though I've been here since what thread 2? That Denver Doll isn't on the list of places to buy. While they're not my favorite place to buy from they should still be on there, and featherfall.

Anyways wow, thread 5? I feel like one of the oldies now and i've only had a doll-zone, heck a doll for that matter, a year and a half.

Silver: haha, I remember, we just have some enthusiastic new DZ owners who love showing off their dolls, I remember being like that. Heck I'm still like that when I get a new dolls, *points to all the spam of Reino* But I've also stopped spamming as often as I used to, I'm trying really hard to only spam when asked or when I have something I want to show y'all, like Reino getting his own shoes.

Hyper: did you see the spam of her at the end of the old thread? One of my favorite pics of her b/c it shows her with a bit of personality.

Ashes28: OMG, she's sooooo cute.

 

equine: I sure seen it! One of the cutest pics of her, and I LOVE the little story that goes with it
Sigune: Great job on the cloak! How did you manage to sew the hood?

 

Hypercurve, I used a pattern from UndeadThreads. The hood is made separately and then stitched to the collar of the cloak; finally you seam the whole thing in one go. This is my very first machine-sewn garment, which says something about how easy this is . The pattern is for an SD-sized cloak, but I scaled it down with a photocopier (A4 to A5) and it's a perfect fit for a 45 cm Dollzone boy. I did choose the large hood though (there's a small and a large hood in the pattern) because Gwalchmei's wig, um, needs some space.

I have a lot of DTS eyes, they are very nice for the price (and the fact that they
can be customized as much or as little as you want). I definitely recommend them,
that is if the artist makes the paperweight & full-globe series again, after her break. (:

Haha, I remember my first attempt at using a sewing machine....it did not turn out well. My machine broke anyway so I have to hand sew everything now. But sigune, that cloak looks great!

Will be posting Errol spam soon because his new purple eyes came in and I'd like to show them off. =D

Yuuma's currently on his was to MD and Airi only has one eye at the moment so she's out of commission for a bit so no Airi spam for a while. And you don't want me sewing, I can't even make a proper eye-patch for Airi, I tried and failed.

 

Oh dear! What happened to Airi's eye? :0

 

The white part on her right eye's been chipped for awhile and I'm finally getting around to getting it fixed so I can move Airi's eyes around to change her expression. Nyco is repainting the white part for me because I don't trust myself to do it, I don't have a very study hand.

 

equine: Hope Airi feels better once her eye is fixed.

Capistrono: I got my sewing machine yesterday! I've seen my mom struggle with one for so many years, I had developed a mortal fear for using one of those. But guess what, I LOVE my new little machine. It's real easy to use and it sews like a dream!!! I started sewing 5 minutes after I got it out of the box ... and made a little summer dress for Philippa within an hour!

That turned out super cute! Mmm I need to figure out what is malfunctioning with my Machine >> I think something jammed up e.e; Lazulli needs clothing

 

What a cute little dress, Hypercurve! Yay! I think modern sewing machines are much, much easier to use than older models. Mine practically sews by itself - all I have to do is tug at the fabric if there is a bump somewhere because of a seam or something XD. And I've never touched a sewing machine before!

Gwalchmei has shoes now. And a new wig (not that I'm doing away with the other one, mind - I love it).





I'm going to sew him a tunic/shirt next...

 

Me and Vulgar have had an AWFUL day, but I'll just rant about what happened to him.
I was at Red Lobster with my family and I had Vulgar sitting on my purse next to my chair. Everything was going ok until my mom knocked over one of the glasses on the table, making everything poor out onto my phone, my purse, my lap, and Vulgar. My phone is pretty much done, but I was able to switch for an old one. And Vulgar got his wet clothes taken off right away when we got to the car to prevent any staining.
He's got some sticky residue on his face from the drink (was either tea or lemonade) and I'm hoping it'll just come off with a damp paper towel and not damage his faceup or anything.
I just want today to be over now.

 

Poor Vulgar! I'm always cautious with dollies and foodstuffs, especially when there are liquids involved. When I take dollies out to eat with me, I try to make sure they have their own seats, and any cups have lids. I don't often do fine dining with my dollies, so... I guess that doesn't really help. I hope you can get him cleaned up without any trouble!

 

I got him cleaned up and he's looking ok, but I can tell he's just upset.
I think I'm just going to let him calm down (naked and bald orz) until tomorrow when I'm hopefully over all this stress and depression.

u.u; Miguel's new eyes haven't reached the states yet.. Kinda bummed about it I was hoping they'd be here by now >> it's been 5days since they left Hong Kong

Capistrono: Thank you. I think tomorrow we will both be feeling a bit better, I really hope so. Emi and Die are even a bit moody, too, so that makes Suzu sad, too..

Hypercurve: Thank you. Yeah, I really wouldn't want to redo his faceup. I'm low on MSC and what I have coming in now is for his new back tattoo and commissioned faceups only. But I am thankful my boy is all ok physically.

 

quidam I agree I sew that way too ><; I'm just terrible at it... half of my dolls have nothing to wear or I just dont take pictures because I am ashamed of them e.e

 

My hand sewing sucks majorly, but I'm much better with a sewing machine...which I don't have with me atm.
My boys need so many more clothes, though. x __ x;

Faceups are the only thing I can do XD

 

hmm let's see can't sew to save my life and have never attempted a face-up and honestly I'm scared too. my artistic skills stop at photography. So yeah all my dolls clothes are bought or donated from kind souls that can sew and all their face-ups are default or commissioned. So I frequently get jealous of people that can sew or do face-ups, or both. Having some sort of artistic skill with my hands would sure save me money.

 

I love sewing little clothes for my boys, but I bought a machine and got frustrated with it on my first try. So for now I'm still handsewing everything. Plus, with handsewing I can amuse myself by watching TV, which I couldn't do with a noisy machine. I find it relaxing. :3

I draw all the time, but I SUCK at faceups. I'm happy to spend $30-$50 for someone else to do it and just give them a really good description of what I want. ^^;

 

I did a photo shoot with Emi a bit earlier and it told me he's lonely and want someone, even if they won't be in a serious relationship or anything. He just wants someone there. :c
I have a doll character, Kohaku, that I've been planning out, but just need a mold for, and recently I've been imagining how he would to with Emi, and I think they would be a good pair for nothing serious, just some fun.
So I went a'lookin' for a mold and I think that DZ Shoyo is the mold! I'm thinking I'll just get him on a female body and have Porcelainsmorge de-boob him since she's good with mods.
So now I have a DZ Aimi and Shoyo on my dolly list!!

 

Why don't you get him on the male body gr8story? &#8203;the males aren't that much bigger then the females, there's also pleanty of us that could do comparison pics of the two if you're interested.

 

equine-aurora: I'm still debating on the body, really. I'll have to play with Porcelainsmorge's girls and compare them to Emi again. It's been I think a month since I saw them. orz The character is pretty slim an feminine so the female body would maybe work.
