I hate to be a wet blanket, but the discussion is very quickly steering away from DZ dolls and more into Propmaking.

That's what I LOVE about Hids! They have a very versitaile face without need of modding

Who else agree's the wig looks ridiculous but the eyes actually look kind of cute.

I kind of want another Kimi now to wear those eyes, or maybe I'll go with Aimi this time lol.

Hey guys, can anyone post some spam of their dolls for me? i know a lot lately have been putting up more photos, but its really wet outside to take iksel out for a photo shoot, and I've been feeling really down about all my money issues and what not lately... thank you.

I wanted to post a different picture, but I've reached my 200 photo limit on Flickr. So, instead here is one of my favorite pictures of Akio:

 

AHAHA~ the wig itself is kinda nice, but it does look pretty silly on Airi. The eyes are cute too, but they don't really go with Airi's lashes.

 

I think that wig Airi is wearing is the one I use on my AoD boy Robin. Is it from DZ? It looks totally different on her than it does on him, that's for sure, but I think it's the same one.

Renton's off for a face-up now so I can't take new photos, but here's an old one I don't think I've posted before:

 

Made the mail room lady giggle because when I saw his box I go " HE CAME!?!" XD Well Eurwyn is here now and despite having to lose his boyfriend body so soon after getting here I only hope that Kal's new body and a 'complete' Farhad come at the same time. Momo loves him enough though, as she should he is her older brother XD Here's a bittersweet pic of the new couple. box opening vid and pics will come later probability next week during spring break.



and yes, first male Demi *SCORE* I swear if I keep editing this post DoA's system is going to kick me out XD But I just got an emal telling that Kal's new body will be here next week at the latest with a floating head Farhad XD

 

thanks X3 but is it me or is the demi head HUGE XD I swear taking pictures is the hardest because it's like look at that huge head vs a Mo head XD

I w as going to say free balling but I totally did not say that XD on another note I think Demi's heads are just rounder it was a real pain to put his wig cap and wig on because of the shape

 

LOL, none of my boys have underwear right now. Their pants fit better without it!

Dollmore stuff looks awesome. I kinda want to get Haruhi some things, but I'm too cheap for now. ^_^;;

 

DFS Yeah i picked her up and she was like "I want my pants off" I was just like "ok, what ever you want lol. And her underwear is from dollmore.

Solitary She has underwear because she wears skirts and dresses quite a lot, and i just don't bother taking it off when she's in pants.

 

Yeah, it definitely makes sense to have them for dresses. Don't want any inadvertent flashing going on.

 

My boys totally don't have undies either...neither do my girls xD I guess I should make them some, but I'm lazy!

 

Yea Iksel is going :coughcommandocough: I was able to go out today and do a small photoshoot, only thing is the sun is too bright right now, but i did get a good shot of him in his new strait jacket I made



I reaaaaally want his face-up done xD!

 

Hmm...he's a cutie! I can't wait to see how his faceup ends up!

btw, next time you take him out for pictures mid-day, put him in the shade and change the metering setting to centered or spot metering. It should help out.

 

hehe ^^; Not sure if my camera has that sort of adjustment on it, but yea i was too bright when I went out the first time. I'm gonna try again later today for more photos. thank you for the tip!

Sooo since I had to send off Kal's body today I decided to take of Eurwyn's head and see if it was bigger and this is what I got XD



Eurwyn sure has a noggin XD but also to my surprise is that he has a different head cap than Kal. Is DZ using a new head cap style or is it gender based?

 

O_O i havent seen a cap like that one yet o-o! might be new

 

My boy has one like the right and he's fairly new...

 

that's really weird because Kal is only a month and a half old ^_^; Even Momo has the same as Kal... hmmm... It might be for bigger noggins then XD

 

moonlight I'm fairly certain that's a new head cap. Airi is female and has the same head cap as Kal and even Kilty's Demi has the same head cap as everyone else. Kal might have been one of the last to get the old head cap. I wonder why they changed it? I did notice a slight difference with Machika's and Airi's. Machika has like a small divot in her's. The new one looks similar to Yuuma's though, only reversed. Yuuma's magnet it in the back and the little latch thing is in the front. Yeah i don't do well with these kind of head caps. I had had Yuuma only a few months when I dropped him and that latch broke off. His head cap has been wobbly ever since.

 

Now I'm all kinds of anxious to get Sascha home: I wonder what headcap system he'll have. It's very similar to my WITHdoll boys' headcaps, though their latch is a little more...discreet? Less awkward-looking, it's more like a hook/groove thing.

 

Haruhi's headcap looks exactly like Farhad's, so it's not gender-based. It might be purely sculpt-based. Demi might just be the exception to the mold.

...Or maybe not, since kiltyascharged apparently has the old head cap on her Demi. What an interesting head cap!

 

So just for the heck of it I pulled all three of my dolls head caps off.


From left to right: DZ late 09/early 10(she was ordered late 09 but didn't arrive tell late Jan of 10), DZ late 08/early 09(Not sure exactly how old Machika is), and Fantasy Doll 09. (you can see where his latch should be).

You can see the only difference between Airi's and Machika is that divot. No clue why it's there or why the got rid of it.

 

Lol. You guys and your fancy headcaps! both my boys have S-hook headcaps. It took me until my 4th bjd until I didn't have a S-hook headcap

 

fanfics Bluefairy as an S-hook headcap. it's the most annoying thing ever.

Oh, I've never seen a headcap like this one! Inside the headcap,there are two magnets?Or there is just one?

 

There is one magnet towards the front and one magnet towards the back, so two magnets in the headcap to go with the two magnets in the actual head.

Awww! It's all I ever knew for like two years. My friend's HID had the magnetic headcap and I was always so envious, but you get used to the struggle after a while. I just recently tightened Akio and it was hell to get his headcap on, but I wouldn't have it any other way xD

 

I have 4 with S-hook attached like 4 with magnets and yeah Lol i like the head-control with hook attached to top

 

yea I agree, though my fairyland dolls look up better. Overall, I like the intricate positions I can do with S-hooked heads

 

that headcap with the little nub thingy kind of reminds me a little bit of the way they did the headcaps for the off topic babies which had a notch/hook thing.
personally I'm happy I ended up with a magnetic headcap, not sure I'd be able to get Lena's headcap on/off if she ended up with the hook kind -weakling-

and here's a picture of all my girls together just because.

Lena looks crazy yellow in this picture, the lighting was really bad though and I had to up the contrast to Pandora's (the pukifee) face wasn't completely washed out.

 

wow Eleanor you can really tell the difference between fairyland and doll-zone WS right there. Pandora's like "HI I'M WHITE"
and Lena's just kind of like "yeah, she's way whiter then me"

 

That's a real big difference in white XD It was like DZ was thinking we want our dolls to look alive not ghosts XD But we are talking about china vs korea here and there thoughts on how white skin should be vary greatly ^_^ ...

anyway...

I was thinking about the head cap changing and it maybe DZs new way of preventing broken head caps (like my poor Alec who's head cap is missing a nice chunk)
