DollZone mini 43cm Discussion Part 14

What heads are they? I have a Fenyo on one of DZ's wide hip bodies and she fits fine. (I have a Megi and Yuri on the original single-jointed, and a Mo on one of the newer bodies)

 

I have a Mo head and a Shoyo (on the old body). And I'm looking at both the "normal" double joint girl B05-012 ( www.doll-zone.com ) and the "moe" one B45-017 ( www.doll-zone.com ).

...and then I saw that freaking Scarecrow Hal 2 and she is everything I'd wanted my Shoyo to be and I have feels. (...I also saw the Special 1/8th dolls and those are definitely what I'm buying first. Goodbye what little money I have, hello volunteering for every extra shift at work and side job I can find)

Neat! The only thing I'd consider is the style difference between an older sculpt and the newer bodies. The "normal" would look fine, imo, but dunno about the "moe". (I now need that body, thanks!)

Hal is so cute! I wasn't going to go in on the Daomiao event, but ended up having to because they announced they were discontinuing a bunch of stuff on my wishlist... That and it was finally an excuse to get a Hal, so I ordered him in tan. I kind of regret not ordering him on a girl body, but that might be a future purchase, depending.

 

Noah is finally getting a story along with my other MSD's I have as character shells, so a new more fitting outfit for her was crafted. Thigh high tights, fingerless gloves and the dress. (The gloves were really fun to make, I didn't use a pattern but there's a thumb and pinky section on the gloves)

 

Where is this list of what they’re discontinuing? I don’t want to miss out on anything. Thanks in advance!

 

@Beetle I believe the dolls have already been discontinued as the notice was put up back in June. But here's the notice on DZ's site, www.doll-zone.com.

A little progress on my Cole, made him a jumper and wig~ The wig isn't perfect, but I still consider myself a beginner and think I did okay seeing as I have no idea how to cut hair haha

That Mo makes me so jealous! (If it's between Megi and Mo, I legit can't decide. I want a Mo so badly!)

 

I think the wig looks great! His hair in game is pretty shaggy. You won't be able to tell as much once you get him wearing his fancy hats.

Wow, Sugarstitch, that's a great jumper! People like you make me wish I could knit or crochet, but I already do everything else, so I think I'll leave the needlework for the people who are actually talented in it.

What kind of fiber is your wig? There are ways to tame the puff.

 

Aw thank you~ I know what you mean haha, I have so many crafting hobbies (honestly one of the main things that drew me to dolls in the first place) that it's hard to set aside time for them all. Especially when there's so many new ones I want to learn~

I'm 90% sure it's alpaca. I work in an op shop, and found an unlabelled bag of it in the craft section a while back. It's definitely animal fibre, I know that much haha. My friend is a hairdresser and said he'd bring something to tame it next time he comes over~

Hi all! I just ordered The Lovers through BJDivas. According to their measurements their heads are MSD sized, but I've only seen discussion on them over in the 60cm and 70cm thread. Is this the correct place to talk about them and post pictures?

 

The two new demon girls are released! I am putting a brown Neruga on layaway

 

I love the new girls! The brown skin is beautiful but unfortunately I'm not going to be able to put one on order for a while so I'll probably miss out on that. At least I'll have a while to choose which head and horns to go with. Can't wait to see what you do with yours @LuckyXIII!

 

Right now I'm picturing lots of gold markings on her. I think it will look really pretty on that dark color. Not sure about anything else.

The dark brown is gorgeous, but I think I might order a white Snow Fulai after Christmas. I love her cute face and horns.

 

Oh, good. Alpaca can be treated just like really fine human hair, so that ought to work great.

it's not alpaca, it's a kid mohair, that is the wool of a young ewe. I bought such a fiber for wigs)

I snagged a brown skin Neruga Im so excited, she’s so cute and the wings and horns look amazing!
I have no idea what I’m gonna do with her tho, a succubus seems suitable or a dragon since her tail has a scarily look to it

 

Yay for another brown Neruga! There are only thirty of them being made so it will be really interesting to see how everyone does their girls up.

 

Oh, fair enough haha. How do you tell the difference? (not doubting you by the way, just generally curious so I can tell in future aha)

 

Alpaca is thinner, straight and matte. But a goat wool (I did not correctly write to you first about a ewe! it's goat wool!) is more wavy and has harder fibers)
But also suitable for wigs, it can also make a styling with of boiling water, or forceps for styling hair)

Does anyone have any resin comparisons to offer for Dollzone Pink (and Peach, although that's such a new color I don't know if anyone would have any examples).

The hybrid (head) I'm trying to work with should be similar to:
Resinsoul normal (very pale pink)
DIM normal pink (supposed to match very well with Resinsoul normal)
Dollshe Fresh (although Fresh is slightly more creamy/yellow).

I would ask for Dollzone WS comparisons as well, but I think it is pretty stark white/creamy white.

I'm going to ask in the Mini Dollzone thread, too, since I'm considering one of the 1/4 bodies, but I thought I would check here as well.

Also, is DZ pretty consistent with colors? I'm planning on an Alice's Collections order and thought I might add some of the DZ 1/4 hands in normal pink and peach just to see an example of the colors before buying the body, but if the colors are likely to change a lot between batches, I'll save the money.

Hello all!

I just had a question for those of you with a Dollzone Hal. I recently ordered him and on Alice's Collections, it says that his eyes are 14mm. My friend that owns one, says that 14mm is too big and that she uses 10mm because they fit perfectly in his head. Can someone please let me know what you use? I just want to be sure.

I want a second Ben head to make an alt. face for my current one and I need a DZ boy body for a head on order ... it works out perfectly.

I am thinking of getting a Doreen, does anybody have a Doreen they could show me? I'm super interested in the shape of her lips especially, because I can imagine what I might do as a face-up if I decide to go for her. She doesn't seem to be such a popular choice though, I've hardly seen any pictures of her around!

 

Hello everyone, it's been awhile. Most of you probably don't even know who I am but I like to stop by every once awhile and post some spam of my older DZ dolls. I used to be super active in here back in the day, but I slowly stopped as Doll Zone changed direction with their aesthetic and I lost interest. Anyways, that's the past.
