DollZone mini 43cm Discussion Part 13

Ok i was thinking of a dz b45-012 maybe with Alma's head. What didn't work? To small? Or gappy?

 

Alma and Lydia have the same neck size.

I said that it wasn't perfect, because the dollzone neck is a tad big for Lydia's neck hole, not that it doesn't work. I still love my Lydia hybrid on DZ 45-012 body and I didn't mod either side of the neck joint, which is a possibility to get a better fit.
It's a matter of taste...

 

They look like a close match. I guess if it doesn't work i can put my Alma head on one of my DC bodies and order another DZ one for ma b45-012 excuse for more nice lovley things.

@Angelfey i know it works (and very well at that!) the others way around: putting a 7cm neck sized head on the 6cm Dollzone girl body. But for example putting a 5.5 cm doll chateau boy head like lance on the Dollzone msd boy body that has a 6.5cm neck might be a bit more tricky. I'd love to know as well if anyone has tried this!

Edit Whoops I was a little late xD @Skimo your Lydia is absolutely divine !! I especially love hers and lance's head!

 

Ugh, this is why I hate (love hate xD) checking flickr, because not only does it make me want more dolls, but makes me feel ashamed of a myself. :P (Ashamed in the sense of I really should be doing more with them, like taking better pictures and styling them better.)

 

Does anyone have pictures of Dollzone tan resin to compare to their normal resin?

 

The tan resin wasn't consistent from batch to batch in the past and sometimes it was blatantly just orange so DZ stopped producing it. If you are referring to the new tan colour, no one will have any dolls in this yet, so you are best to look at this: Event - Doll Zone—1/4 dolls Re-releasing for grey and tan skin or this for a comparison to the other colours they offer (note that they are changing all the resin colours from March orders onwards) Event - DollZone 2016 Two Big News-New Resin and New skins

 

I believe this is the right place to mention this, as I didn't see an announcement for it, but it looks like DZ has released two new BB1/4 girls. Natalia, and Pavlova.

I would love for DZ to do boys in this style.

Well I decided to take advantage of the sale. I bought two lovely boys. I bought Mo-3 fullset in tan from Mint on card. I would have bought the second one from them too, but he was sold out. I'm excited to get a doll from them because I get to save so much on shipping. They are two minutes from my apartment so I can just run down and pick him up when he arrives!! Yay! The second boy I ordered was a Megi-2 fullset in tan from Alice's Collections. I took advantage of their summer event and got their little hamster too. I'm excited for my new guys! I was so sad when they discontinued them, but I feel like it was fate because I always wanted their fullsets anyway and now I can have them! Yay!

I'm not sure anyone will be interested in this or not, but I modded my Carter to have more mobility in his arms. I thought I'd share in case anyone else wanted to do this - I did the bare minimum of work here, and these arms are obviously not meant for this mod, but it does what I want it to! Plus, he's usually way more dressed than this, so you can't ever see it anyway. Aaaaand these were extra arms I had. So his actual arms are still in one piece. Or three pieces. Whatever.

Two things before the pic
Thing 1: He's got his Battle Damaged head on....so, slight gore.

Thing 2: He's not that dirty, I swear. I blushed him with grey and he wears a black shirt a lot...which stained him to holy hell. Then his orange shirt has metal snaps and did a lot of damage to the already-messy blushing. So, he looks horrible, but it's mostly just grey pastel and black shirt dye. I've been dealing with Harley, but he's next on my list to clean up.

Lol it's pretty bad in person. His tie I refused to take off (I either would have had to untie it or remove his head. nope.) hid some of it nicely. And he has a ring around his hips where the shirt is tucked in XD

So I just ordered a Megi-2 fullset in tan and Mo-3 fullset in tan during the discontinued event because I've been obsessed with both of them forever, but I always wanted the fullsets. I just got a message back from Alice's Collections telling me Dollzone is actually soldout of the Megi-2 shoes which are basically like converse type sneakers. I know that Dollzone shoes for 1/4 scale run about 5.5-5.6 cm roughly and the only pair I've found that look similar are by ttyacom and their MSD size run interior 7cm, exterior 7.5cm and they (being ttyacom) think they would be ok and should fit fine. This is according to them though. I'm curious what you all think. That seems like a bit of a stretch to me. Does anyone think that works or know of anyone who sells converse type Megi-2 sneakers? Thanks!

 

My dollzones wear different sneakers from different companies. I think one has some of mimiwoo the other sneakers/ van like shoes are from alice collections. and the 3rd pair I got as a present of my friend
and all of them work perfectly!

 

Mind if I jump in and share Thomas, my Megi boy?

I really need to find the time to go out and take a bunch of new photos

@Meggethann I had the same problem when trying to find the Hid boots. It was a nightmare, i finally found them on LegendDoll who is DZ's Japan Dealer. Shipping to the US was horrendous but so worth it Alice Collections has a few MSD sized sneakers that might work for you Megi-2

My boy wears sneakers from Mimiwoo but he's on the B45-003 body. I know M-Style sells a large selection of sneakers for minis---I'm unsure of their exact measurements, though.

Hello, I've bought a Hal again... I managed to lay my hands on a PS sleeping head - but my old Hal is WS so the obvious conclusion is that Sleeping Hal needs his own body .

I saw around post #730 that there was some discussion about whether older heads fit on newer bodies, but it's not clear to me whether my Hal could fit on a B45-014. Dollzone seems to say he wouldn't, because his neck hole fits a 7 cm neck and B45-014 has a 6,5 cm neck... I have nothing against the B45-009, so if that's my only choice I'll go with it, but I'm rather partial to the 014 because its legs are shorter. Can anyone tell me whether Hal or a similar head will fit on the newest bodies, please? I'be really grateful.

I do hope the new resin isn't going to look to off in combination with a head in the previous resin... But that is another matter.

ETA: ignore my question please - Lighthouse Asylum helped me out on the Photo Reference thread and Hal totally works on that body. Yippee!

 

@Sigune My Hal is on the B45-014 body & it fits fine. I don't see any fitting issues at all

 

I had no idea that cute Hal of yours was on that body, @gaiboiozz ! I feel reassured now... Angelesque, the dealer where I get my Dollzone dolls, doesn't offer that body as an option for Hal, so I was a bit doubtful. But now I know what to order . Thanks a lot!

 

My Hal(s) got a body much sooner than I thought! Problem is...it was the B45-010 that belonged to my brand new Shoyo. I've had dolls steal others' wigs and clothes before, but this is the first case of body-stealing I've had! Shoyo had a pretty bad case of giraffe neck on that body, though, so maybe it's for the best...


(Don't let that innocent face fool you, she's a cold-blooded body-snatcher. Nothing but ruthlessness lies beneath that sweet little Mona Lisa smile.)

 

Awww...how could you possibly refuse Hal anything, just look at that adorable face! I truly love the Hal sculpt so much!

Their normal yellow skin has changed? O.o Oh no, I didn't know that. :-( Is their a recent pic of it somewhere? I will keep looking but, I really didn't know that and wish I had before I placed my order a couple months ago. :-( That's my fault for not researching. *sigh*

 

Hey guys. I don't post much in here anymore. The spam on this page is adorable though. My Doll Zones have been a bit neglected lately, but I did take Roxana to a con with me recently so I'll just drop this picture here. It was raining so I couldn't take her outside for proper pictures.

I feel like DZ changes skintones every 6 months at this point honestly.
