DollZone mini 43cm Discussion Part 13

Well since it was the last post in the old thread I'll repost the picture to make sure it gets seen! First Post!

With S&M finally reopening I was able to get Reino more wigs finally and so I can finally do what I was originally planning with him and change his hair color on a regular basis. Rock now he's rocking green, but I also go him purple and red and of course he still has his two blue wigs.

Moving again at the end of the month makes it way too difficult to find any time or space to get Morgen out but since there's a new thread and some other Carters joining the fun, here's one of Morgue. Everyone's dolls look amazing!

 

Yess Carters! And thank you! I will have to try, I am so picky when it comes to what photos I'm okay with posting! And Beeprince, Morgue is such an amazing doll, love his faceup! I always look forward to seeing photos of him.

Urgh, I'm so conflicted about my Dollzone Shoyo. On the one hand, I find her cute, but even after a year I can't figure her out!

Half the time I think I should just sell her, and the other half I think I should commission a new faceup (because stylistically she doesn't match my Aimi and kid delf) and buy her new clothes and try again. I worry, If I sell her I will regret it. But if I sink a bunch of money into her and she I'm still not completely happy with her.... *I need a hug*

I understand that. Well, she's really cute now but there are always a ton of options when it comes to faceups of course, and wardrobe. Sometimes, over time, I've found that sculpts I initially enjoyed, might not fit in aesthetically if I've started to shift tastes. You'll figure it out! /hugs

 

I had the same problem with my Shoyo
but after I got her a new face up i started to like her. before that she had that strange ganzing look...i did not like it X_X
i hope you figure out something with her, because she's a cutie

I'm not a big fan of box openings, and there wasn't really much to see, since he came nude, without any extras.

 

I'm also not a big fan of box openings... I made box opening only for my first doll. I'm too impatient. I must right away, immediately, to get into doll... xD

Another golden oldy here. Elmer Hawthorne, my DZ Megi finally received the wig I wanted to make him. I learned how to early this month and now I have this latex & Wensleydale locks wig to show . I went for wild and green, like the canopy of a tree!

new thread huh? I have been gone so long! Lola is my only dollzone midi now - just gave her new eyes and wig, and I love her new 'barbie-doll' look! ^_^ Yes I know she looks far too snooty to be like barbie! Not sure how to dress her though....

Reino got some new Bracelets this weekend that he's super excited to show off. He used to have silly bandz that he wore all the time but I lost them so he's had naked wrists for awhile now.

I understand the problem you're having with your Shoyo. I had a LeekeWorld Mabel that I just never bonded with. I tried everything but ultimately I traded her for a Luts Honey Delf. Yup, a MSD for a tiny! But I'm glad I did. the Honey Delf has tan skin and I want to work on face ups with her for an incoming DZ Minas in tan. So it was a good trade though the price difference hurt.

You might want to try different wigs and even go with styles out of your comfort zone. Maybe something on the wilder side might just give you the spark you need with Shoyo. Maybe try different eyes like a pair of the Mako Moon eyes or steampunk eyes. And then turn the eyes in the socket so they look at you from the corner instead of straight on. If you like the changes, then follow through with some outfits that are also out of your comfort zone. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a doll you might not want to keep, then force yourself to think out of the box and find something interesting laying around your house to make a wig and hat out of before you invest in an outfit.

For example, feathers Or torn up and frayed rags with bits of mohair sticking out for a wig or a bottle cap as the base for a steampunk hat.

A drastic change may be all you need! Please post pictures of any changes you make! It'd be cool to see the transformation! Good luck and hugs to you!

And at last an update from me:
I have the Carter head, it's still at my penpals because he's doing a repainting job on my Minimee boy (nose chipped) buuut I also got an offer for the heart body yesterday and I surely bought it at once
so my boy will be completed as soon as I get the heads back - I can't wait for my very own Carter.

I already have a name and a story for him. So he will be a mechanical Human...a living doll so to say. - He'll get a multicolored eye the other one is not visible because of some super cool scar mods the previous owner made. I'll try pastel goth stuff on him but i am sure he'll go with steampunk in the end, because I'd like to swich both styles from now and then. (For his "father" [maker] I plan to buy a 90cm doll from AOD/LEE-EL dunno yet, but he will def. be steampunk)
My little Carter will be named Neji which is "screw" in english. I think it fits as he is not a real human.

and sorry for long spamming about my new boy. but i am so happy I got him so fast!

I don't mind spamming about a new boy especially a steampunk mech boy like Carter. Love the name Neji and what it means, fits the steampunk genre perfectly. He will be tiny to a 90cm but it sounds so cool. Hope to see photos.

 

Hey guys, I have a Gill coming in the next 8 weeks or whatevs. Wondering what size eyes is best? Angelesque says they take 16mm, dollzone says 12.

 

I just realized I forgot to introduce my new doll on here, she's a Dollzone Luke. Just got her back from the faceup artist. I call her Yomi for now, but I may change it, her body is male at the moment but I'm planning to fix it...

Chamalam, I don't have a Gill, but 16 cm seems so very large I think it must be a typo. Normally I take one size smaller than what Dollzone recommends XD...

Thanks she doesn't really have a story as I usually don't do characters, she's based on a manga and most of her look is due to that

I'm actually changing it a little though, the original Yomi had brown hair and didn't have those face cracks. I just thought cracks looked cool XD

She also is on a male body so she'll end up looking more androgynous than girly, and since she doesn't have legs this is even more interesting.

and it does not matter if she has the boy or girl body ^^ as long as you are fine with her
i think the DZ msd boy body is not too male and it also works for a flat female ^^

and guys my body came in today. it's soooooo beautiful
i am in love. can't wait for my head!

 

She's on a minifee body actually, that isn't a very good match, I'm still in the process of fixing it.
