DollZone mini 43cm Discussion Part 12

I've wanted Hal twins for awhile but the past two 6 month waits have put me off DZ for awhile, and now I've gotten into iplehouse and been spoiled by 4-5 week waits. I've been keeping an eye out for in stock at a dealer or the MP but no luck so far.

i like the folded hands. which brand are they from. I just know fairyland had them... or did DZ have them too?
sadly I dunno about the tan. my tanned boys are handtanned >.<

I got a pretty good shot of almost all my DZs at a meet-up. today, just the two blank floating heads are missing. Please ignore whatever their arms/hands are doing. I forgot to fix their poses before snapping the picture.

I'm worried about the tan being orange too. Really want a tan Hal but not in orange tan. :< I may just settle for Yellow or Pink skin.

 

The Character I Have Fits Ha[ Perfect But He Has To Be Tan So All I Can Do Is Wait Till They Make A Less Orange Tan.

I understand. My guys talk to me all the time and say yay or nay on their look or actions. They definitely have a niche in my brain that is exclusively theirs.

also, this may be the dumbest dumb dumb question, but is dz tan environmenal resin now? i heard it was, but i just wanted to check! i wanted to put a body on layaway soon, but i didnt want the environmental resin...i saw some new arrivals over on facebook in a group and the tan is looking lovely this go around, so i wanted to get in on that before it turns orange again! TIA

 

DZ said their tan is not environmental, it just appears translucent in some photographs. Of course every month it seems the tan looks different so it is unclear if the tan being received now will be the same as what people get in 4 months.

Oh Oh! I have a tan Dollzone on layaway. I didn't know about their tan turning orange ! Yikes! Is there a thread somewhere that talks about it? Now I'm worried because the doll I ordered is a SD size! Well, I'm planning to blush her entire body so my fingers are crossed.

 

It's been talked about in various places so I'm not sure if there's a thread specific to it. Basically for the past couple of years DZ has been unable to keep a consistent tan colour. It's varied from so light it looked normal skin, to very dark, to very orange, to a translucent looking tan. Because of their 4+ month delay in orders it's obviously very difficult to know what tan will be the tan you get.

Someone may get an orange tan doll this month but in 3 months when someone else gets another, it could be a light tan. It's basically a huge risk right now since they've been unable to keep it to one colour.

 

I'm doing a similar treatment to the body I get, covered in tattoos...but yeah, it doesn't turn orange do much as it just comes that way sometimes.

Thanks, yeah I'm really debating...I just adore the body though and it's gotta be tan fir the head I'm putting it with.

I was looking for a sculpt to shell an Igor and I think he is perfect for that...
I am just wondering if he would look best on a DC or a DZ kid boy body and if the scars are sculpted or only painted...

 

I zoomed in and the stitch right by his eye looks painted, it is flat with no depth at all. I think it's a faceup.

 

Yeah, I agree the scars are probably a faceup. It wouldn't be too hard to replicate if that's what you wanted, though. I kind of wish I had some money to spare right now. He's definitely make a fun looking character of some sort! I do wish the head were sold separately from the egg, though. I really have no use or interest in that.

 

I was tempted to offer one egg to my mother, since she collects them... but they seemed a little expensive for what it is to me, if there is no choice but to buy one with Benjamin at least I know someone who would be happy to receive one as a gift

 

Goood i don't collect eggs and that the design of bejamin is not my taste XD

 

Love that new head! He looks like he's got a lot of character.

I wanted to pop in with some resin comparisons of the new tan, and I got the body in for my hybrid as well.

They are pretty dang orange. Good thing they work for my purposes (orange pumpkin head and all), but I'm not sure how other people will like it. :/

Jimminy pete, it's sad to see the tan so orange. I loved how consistant Dollzone's old tan was, it's disappointing to see it's changed so much. I wonder if they're just doing it this way to kill enthusiasm for tan all together? They obviously don't like offering it. D:

I love that new Benjamin though. I wish I could manage money to get him, but I'll have to hope that maybe they re-release him later. I don't like the faceup, but I love the expression on his face like he gives no sheeps about anything.

 

I love the demon egg so much *0* I'm not the biggest fan of the Benjamin head, but I really want to get the egg as it seems the perfect solution to house one of my floating heads~ Here's to hoping I can manage to scrape together the money by the end of the month

The new Benjamin head is cool, But he looks like the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

 

With S&M finally reopening I was able to get Reino more wigs finally and so I can finally do what I was originally planning with him and change his hair color on a regular basis. Rock now he's rocking green, but I also go him purple and red and of course he still has his two blue wigs.
