WOO! New thread. Wow, 12? I've been here since like thread 2. *feels old* Of course my very first DZ making the discountuine list also made me feel old, I mean she was a fairly new mold when I bought her......4.5 years ago....LOL. It's been quite a journey with her. Spam from her first year with me just for old times sake.

 

He is so cute, I just want to hug him!

For the new thread have more Renton Abernathy, Pretty Princess. (Yes, he's still wearing this... I think he might like it.)

 

After over a year, new pictures finally. Apparently dollar store batteries only last about 5 minutes in my camera, but I got a couple that didn't need too tweaked. Here's Aria and Annica for the new thread!

I'm more of a fan of DZ's new sculpts, but I must admit their older ones are very charming.

 

I like both the old and the new. It's nice that they are keeping some of the older MSDs available for now. Of course some , like Mo, don't seem to be losing popularity.

Ballet- is that a Xi?

 

I got a ringdoll's outfit for my tan carter I have in the plans. It seems it wont fit any of the bodies except the newest body they have for the boys since it seems to match up the best with the ringdoll's body sizes. Sylar tried it on and could not sit and a snap wouldn't work due to the chest being a little bit too big. Sylar looks awesome in it but the hat that came with the outfit doesnt fit due to his horns so Gabriel would of worked lol. Plus his whole arm came off when i was trying to get his hand through XD so i have to restring him on that part lol. It was an adventure. So if you want a Ringdoll outfit be prepared that you may need to move snaps around to make it fit because the normal placements will not work.

Heres a picture. I was only doing a dry run to see what body the outfit would fit so I hope I can change Carter's normal body out for the new body that does not have the steam punk wing on it. and please ignore the clutter XD my laptop became a dressing room lol.

Another note. In that outfit he cannot sit. which is good if you dont plan for him to sit. Hopefully this helps anyone. I know the boy 009 body will not fit this outfit. he has too long of legs and too large of a chest and as we all know the butt area is waaay to big.

 

That's unfortunate about the fit, Fush. Really cool outfit, I'm imagining it would look awesome on a tan Carter!

My Freddy's clothes finally arrived, so pleased with the quality! Apparently the pants I bought are actually sheer, whoops. xD Wrestling him into the clothes was an adventure, I'm never undressing him, ever. Oh and he can't really stand in the boots and they look pretty hilarious on an MSD. Still, I'm very happy.

 

Anthenril: It is saddening but that is why i think the newest MSD boy body will work best I will need to inquire about that to my dealers XD I just hope it wont be that big of an issue since its just a body change. They do it for the other ones. Plus yeah when I first saw the outfit on ringdoll's site. It screamed tan Carter to me so I got it since I have one body sculpt and expecting the other one and I know which wont fit. Bodies... they are an adventure of pain x.x

Oh I love your freddy's outfit. the pants look good truthfully and he looks happy. I know how you feel about undressing and dressing stuff. my two boys take turns being the victim for outfit try ons. This last time taught me that I need a better system or get them new hands as those large square hands do not work lol XD i need to find my "stringing" ribbon to put his arm back on.

 

yes those big square hands are a pain to get through sleeves Fush - He looks great in that outfit though - you could buy a doll stand for him maybe

equine-aurora that is Kimi isn't it? She's so cute I love the older sculpts but strangely, in spite of saying 'no more midis' about a month ago, I seem to have got 3 more since then! Seriously ....NO MORE (no more room on the midi futon!)

Even though she's not being discontinued, I'm afraid my Flora isn't the most popular of sculpts, so she may be for the chopping block next, who knows? I will have to start a 'Save Flora' campaign! Although my rubbish camera doesn't help matters....

 

Thank you, Fush! Yeah, I had to take off both his hands and it was still troublesome, because the sleeves are super tight and the shirt is super tight...luckily it's his only outfit so I don't have to undress him for ages. xD

I hope you can get the bodies switched, I don't see why they couldn't do that, considering the current wait time is um...5 months? An adventure indeed, I hope it works out!

Edit: And thank you, elve! He would trip on his massive boots and fall over. xD Flora is a lovely sculpt, I doubt they would axe her any time soon. Her lips are so pretty! DZ has so many beautiful sculpts, it's really difficult to choose between them. A good problem to have, I guess?

 

Oh god Freddys.

I really wanted to get a Freddy-1 head from the 2013 summer event when I ordered my first doll but..
I ordered from a dealer and ended up not getting one.

They even mentioned the event but said they couldnt acces the site and... Thats that.

 

Kyle they come up for sale quite often - plus sometimes dealers have them in stock too, so don't lose hope!

thanks Athenril and yes I guess it's good to be spoilt for choice! I really like all the midi sculpts I think....but really I don't collect midis so..... maybe I should change that rule?

I don't think there is a specific database for JUST Carter in the usual database thread area. There are some for DZ dolls in general but, this is the only thread that is Carter exclusive currently and it has very few posts in it.

One of the reasons why theres so few posts on Carter as there are not many Carters in general really. I know Carter is gaining popularity but even then hopefully we see more action for him. I know I'm dying to get my Carter XD And work on his amputations as I have no idea how that will work lol.

I just bought a doll table set that has chairs too... I hope it will work out for my boys its the perfect table to play games on or even have tea. I will show it when it gets here. Its due to come tomorrow some time (just so happen to be on my birthday which is the 3rd lol) I think at this moment for my birthday I just want Peter's (DZ carter) shipping notice XD

 

So I've been given a job offer in Washington, only problem is I have to go asap and my parents can't take time to help me drive cross country right now so they're flying me up so I have to decided what I want to take that can fit in one suitcase that has to be under 50 lbs. I don't want to leave me dolls behind so I'm thinkthing they might be getting unstrung and well secured/coushined in my bag. I have too many now to take them in my hand luggage.

Sadly my hope to post my dz pandora/dc k-07 body hybrid is totally down the drain. Recieved the body last saturday (ordered it in december but dc was really busy) and today I put het together, just to find out how incredibly the skin colours mismatch. The dc pink is so much more darker then the dz pink, really a moment where I just want to sit in a lill corner and not come out of it for the next few months -.-
anyone with the same problem between dc and dz latelly ?

 

Mademoiselle Grymms dollzone cast doll chateau bodies - I had the same exeperience last month when I FINALLY got the dollzone body I'd ordered for my Freddy head! Last year's 'pink' (which Freddy and Pandora were cast in) is barely there - more like almond white! People complained about it, and dollzone duly added more red to the mix! Unfortunately they didn't do that until AFTER many people had ordered a body from them for the F&P heads - which of course is now a really bad mismatch. My dz body is PINK it's like a shrimp flavoured sweetie sitting there on the futon with no head LOL - Rather recklessly I have now ordered another dollzone head, hoping that this one will match it - but they (and consequently doll chateau) will maybe have changed the 'pink' yet again - who knows!

If you want a good resin match for F&P or any paler 'pink' 2013 dz or dc head, then Angel of Dream 'pink' is a good match.

equine-aurora that sounds exciting - I hope it goes well for you and you enjoy the new job! Maybe just take a couple of dolls now, leave the rest with your parents, and take some more next month?

 

I won't be coming back for awhile and my parents don't really like the dolls, and I couldn't possibly choose between them. No I'm thinking at the very least I'll unstrung the MSDs and maybe my YOS, not sure I want to tackle unstrunging/restringing my Tiny. She's small enough she'll take up less room then the MSDS unstrung will lol.

 

@equine-aurora: even if your parents don't liek your doll you could still keep them in a well secured box or somethig where your parents cant accidenltly break them or that they are in the way, I do hope you will manage to fly over your dolls tho!

@elve: I did hear about dz making the pink darker again, (they did say they would not change a thing now tho so I think your safe), all th I did prefer the almond colour.
It does feel like i'm being mocked for not waiting for a pandora in ws but grabbig the first pandora head I could find >.< I will be stubborn and try to blush the parts together, was planning a rotting blue blush but geuss I will have to use some pink in the head then and some very light yellow/white for the body.

 

Mademoiselle Grymms: I know how you feel, I had so much headache because I didn't get my Freddy in WS. Luckily elve recommended AoD and their resin matched perfectly. I hope you can get it to match better with blushing!

 

I Need Help Finding Pants/Shorts That Fit The B45-009 Body

 

Equine: May I suggest you mail your dolls up there so they will be there when you arrive. I would do this if I was moving... I wouldn't leave any of my dolls behind since I dont even trust my parents with anything of mine.

 

Just got some bad news that I'm not moving actually. It's complicated but yeah, looks like i'm stuck in texas a bit longer. Though about the shipping thing Fush. I have 7 dolls, it wouldn't be cheap to mail them and I would trust them to be safer in my bag then in the mail.

 

Sorry for the double post but guess who finally has wigs! The base isn't as black as I thought it would be, it looks brown in sunlight, but i'm still happy with the wigs. I've gotten used to Jay being bald so it's actaully a little strange to see him with hair lol. I was hoping to get a full body shot to show the length of Roxana's but the full body shots where turning out badly. But basically her hair goes down to her knees and will be worn tied back most of the time.

 

Agh, Equine, I'm sorry to hear your adventure was cut short so soon. D: But those wigs look really good on them! Where did you order them from?

So I'm pretty excited to go pick up the tan Jade I got off the second hand market tomorrow~ Sort have plans for him and I'll attempt to do a box opening post if that would be okay for me to share (also wondering what size wigs would fit Jade's head best)

 

gaiboiozz - dollzone do their own pants to fit these hippy boys, if you can find a dealer who will order them for you - problem being the order will go in with a bunch of resin the dealer's ordering, so you won't get them for months! Alternatively a dealer may have some in stock if you're lucky? What style are you wanting?

wonderful-world Congrats - I look forward to seeing your boy wig sizes vary according to brand really, so it's hard to say for sure - I have midis wearing YOSD size wigs, and midi wigs, and one wears an SD size wig!

 

I was wondering if any one on here has the 1/4 Kimi doll.

It's the one I have wanted for about four years now and I was wondering if any one had good reviews on it, as well as estimated shipping time, and such. I have been the BJD community a while yet I still don't have my own doll, so freaking sad...

 

All I can mention right now is that if you check the waiting room (which I run) here, you'll see the wait time is pushing the 6-7 month mark right now! But, we're happy to say December orders have made it to their dealers and are being shipped out as we speak. Hopefully we'll be seeing the same for January and February shortly.

Elve: The thing I found about Alice's Collection. They order right away when you put in an order. I ordered a Ringdoll outfit through them and it only took them a week to get it to me. So the same would happen with Dollzone and the clothing or any other item that does not include a doll XD

 

wow that's good Fush - maybe it's because they're in China too, so they don't need to wait and do a monthly order like the rest of the dealers, who have huge postage costs to deal with?

 

Finally managed to pick him up from the post office! My next project is probably going to be building him into his character. I named him Corvus after the constellation for the crow who had silver wings that were dyed black

Talking about characters, I think I finally finished Corpus his pedestal, might want to ad some more blush on the heart and eye but im pretty happy with the result, now if I could just manage to bring his sister together I could start my dark hansel and gretel story ;p

Also the table set arrived and it looks awesome with MSDs... Gabriel and Sylar used this chance to start a new game of Dominos XD I have to fix one side of the table so its flat not drooping (Gabriel's side obviously) for anyone interests the company that made the table and chairs is called American Heirloom Collection. So now we know what good stuff to get theres a couple chairs on ebay the last I checked.

So have some still bald twins XD I have the supplies for Gabriel to do his face up but school taken over as finals are happening now and for the next three weeks.

 

I love seeing everyone else's boys and girls, I hope you'll all continue spamming. I'm also hoping that now that DZ has finally started shipping again that we'll be seeing lots of box openings and new dolls in here * u *

Elve: Thank you! Another progression to the perfect Twin's picture... XD two more things in order to do so lol right now im mainly concerned for the wigs i ordered. The person who is making them told me there will be at least an almost two more week delay due to family stuff or something But I will say the wigs will be awesome. So they might not be able to come with me on vacation. Dominos is the Twin's favorite game after all.

Athenril: I was really concerned that the furniture wouldn't work with the dolls and would be too big but I have no idea how lucky I got XD Thank you! I agree it matches them really well. After all they are kind of victorian that been spiced up a little. Ahriman attracted a little bit of attention. Sylar looked over while playing Dominos and saw Ahriman and wanted to say hello. Also he begs his forgiveness for being bald lol.

Athenril I love Ahriman's top - very cool, as is he

my poor Freddy & Pandora heads are sat in a box unloved at the moment, their bodies having been stolen by my lovebirds Jake and Kitty! Jake has stolen his wig back from my tiny dz Nyu, who is now looking ridiculous in Freddy's blonde wig! Jake tried being a lady-boy in golden curls, but really that dark wig looks gorgeous on him - and he knows it! Kitty can hardly keep her hands off him now - and him still being stark naked is not helping I was wavering over Jake, as I'm not really one for dressing boys, but him and Kitty have such chemistry, I can't split them up now! I really love that my doll couples were unplanned - it's so romantic really, like they have actual feelings for each other! I never intended for either of my 2 couples to be together, but the dolls just somehow gravitated towards each other, like it was meant to be I might have to dress Jakey back up in his Freddy suit, just for decency's sake - And once Kitty's white lace outfit comes in well strangely they will look a bit like bride and groom, so maybe he will pop the question? These dolls have minds of their own really they do!

ETA - today's prompt on the flickr group was 'Touch' - so I came up with this one of Flora and the baby (ndoll petit coco - wearing a midi blythe dress from etsy - perfect fit!) It can't be Flora's baby as she's only about 14 I think? But they are inseperable anyway

 

elve Thanks! We put those glasses on him intending them to just be reading glasses, but he looked too good in them so he wears them all the time now.

wonderful-world Your boy is too cuuuute! I'm looking forward to seeing him with a wig and some other clothes on.

Elve, I know what you mean! My dolls don't agree with anything I plan for them. xD Jake looked really nice in the suit, I'm excited to see what Kitty's dress will be like! Doll wedding, anyone? And Flora looks sweet as always.

thank you Athenril I did as you suggest and put Jake back in the suit - he does look rather handsome in it! oooh and Kitty's 'wedding' outfit was delivered today too There is also a kind of half skirt/back to front apron thing to the outfit, but I've put it on another doll as it looked a bit odd on her - Jake and her are most definitely an item now! Dollzone Miss Kitty head is on an Angel of Dream body, with no modification - the head goes side to side but not up and down, as the neck is way too big - her head is sitting on the front of the neck rather than on top.

 

elve I loooove your girl's ears. I hope to be able to get something that pretty for Errol one day.

Here's the new boy! Abel the Luke. The sculpt is absolutely lovely. Such a tiny head though. Any other Luke owners notice that?

He's going to end up with different eyes at some point. Now he's just wearing what he came with.

 

Now that you mention it, wigs do tend to be looser on my Luke than most of my other MSDs.
