DollZone mini 43cm Discussion Part 12

Thank you, Jigarkhvar. Someday I'd like to buy a DZ BB and make a younger version of him.

 

What white hair? my Shoyo has never had white hair. This is a new wig he's sporting but his old one was dark blue. So I'm not sure which doll you're talking about having white hair.

Ordering anything from DZ is such a hard choice right now. It's like, do you want to wait 6 months or not? Maybe you could find a body on the MP?

In other news my girl is finished. Here's a preview of Airi's new face-up. I'm SO EXCITED that she finally has a proper face-up. She's my oldest doll and when I got her painted the first time I didn't know what I was doing and her face-up was not the greatest and faded quickly. I've also decided it's time for both her and Reino to get glass eyes. The only reason she has kept her defaults for so long is because I LOVE the color of them, and I was a newb when I got her and couldn't see her as anything but her promo pics. She and Reino are now my ONLY dolls that still have acrylics and I've been realizing lately just how dead looking their eyes look in pictures, especially compared to my glass eyed dolls. So her and Reino will be making the upgrade finally lol. They both just got new face-ups. Now it's time for new eyes, I'm also downsizing them to 14s from the 16s DZ used to use as defaults. I was actually happily surprised when I got my recent heads to discover DZ has switched to glass 14mm defaults. Anyways, here's the preview.

Shadowedforce. I love her to death. Airi makes 4 of my 11 dolls that have face-ups by her now. And at some point in time the 5 blank dolls sitting around will go to her as well. (I'm not sure where 5 blank dolls came from, I swear. my wallet has a mind of its own). Reino, pictured above is also sporting one of her face-ups. Then Roxana here is painted by her as well.



Number 4 can't be shown here as he's not a Doll Zone lol.

I have a question. I want a Dollzone Elsa but I don't like too much default body B45-008 the sculpture is really beautiful, I love big hips...but it has not the thigh joint. I prefer B45-012 but this has a 6cm neck and Dollzone Elsa is for a 6,5cm. Can she see bighead? T__T

love your cuties equine-aurora - Airi's new faceup is stunning! I agree with you about acrylic eyes too - a couple of my big dolls have them and they're just not 'alive' in the same way as glass eyes

 

I just got my Aimi back from the incredibly talented Abel here on DoA. I just love her new face. She did an amazing job

I had originally planned on blonde or a yellow brown haircolor for her, but I find the red really striking. I may try a strawberry blond too, but I'm not sure yet. She is borrowing my tan girl's body again, but hopefully I can get her a body of her own pretty soon

I'm waiting for the fur wig I was planning on her to use... but I bought some Monique Gold wigs I found semi cheap... I am in Love!
I even switched her back to her Dollzone body my other girl stole. This is why I am so tempted to buy another body! * 0*

Tehkiwi106 I love her look even without a faceup those eyes are just piercing and the wig is wonderful.

Jeeryama's Christina is in HK so I guess no one is manning the shipping department, so I have to wait until after the 3rd now. Poor Jamie (HID) get to sit on the shelf a little longer. I suppose I could make some clothes for him while I wait.

yeah they are a little bit >3
but they are sitting far away of each other normally.

Also water does not harm them. i put the clothes of and let them dry. also the dolls. The myth the strings are damaged by water when drying without being loosen is wrong...I never pull out the elastics of my underwear when i put them on the clothing line to dry and they are also a little streched then, because it dries better...

so no need to be scared of water. I don't let them lie there for days or hours.

 

Looks like it was fun photographing them. I'm glad they don't have to sit together and glare at each other.

I guess I wouldn't worry too much about fresh water and the elastic but I live on the coast and seawater could corrode the s-hooks.

 

yeah okay because it's salty. that I understand.
but it was just rain and I don't live near the sea ^-^ just near mountains (still 2-3 hours with the train, belongs to where you like to go)

for the series I packed my stuff super quickly and rushed out into the rain. when i set up everything it did not rain anymore...kind of frustrating >D cause i wanted raindrops on the ground

 

fantastic photo Jigarkhvar I was surprised to find the head hook in my doll chateau doll had gone rusty, just from sitting in a damp room for months! I think so long as the doll dries out in a week it will be fine though - I have moved my dolls now, and all the others seem fine with no rust anywhere

took a pic of my still-naked Lola - but the light was terrible - I need to set up a lamp next time as it needed tweaking in photoshop forever, to get it looking realistic

Your boy looks great in red. The snow looks great too. We don't get snow down here on the southern coast of Texas very often but in 2004 it snowed on Christmas eve and the 8" snow lasted 3 days. It was amazing and brought everything to a standstill. No one knows how to drive on snow down here. lol.
My HID will be white skin and I am making him a custom wig of pink and peach. I'm deciding where I want the slash of peach in the pink or do I want pink in the peach. He is going to be a colorful guy.

I just bought two of the Dollzone b45-12 bodies (with a Gill head on order). Are they included in this thread? Thanks!

 

I don't know Pony, this is part 12 of the thread. I looked at their website and the boy bodies are either 39cm or 45cm the girl bodies are 37cm and 44cm. So none are 43cm. ?????

Excited! I got my official 'HID has left the building' shipping notice. ~10 days and he will be here! Yay! Better get his t-shirt finished.

 

Yes they are.

The 43 cms comes from the original bodies and the mods just haven't taken it off when they make a new thread. Though with the several body options DZ now has for the minis it really doesn't belong anymore. Any of the 1/4 sized "MSD" sculpts are allowed in here regardless of what body they're on.

Surprise surprise he is here.
He came with his default ruby red eyes. I was almost finished sewing his clothes when he arrived and finished them before I opened his box. I use two wigs and added color from one to the other but now I know which one he looks good in I may add some more yellow in the pink.

I'll have to get used to him being single jointed. I have an SD that is single jointed so I'm sure we will work it out just fine. He stood just out of the box. Strung nice and tight.

Steamwitch: Man He's SINGLE JOINTED? Just how long was he hanging around Junky Spot? DZ has had double jointed bodies for 6 years now. Though the did just barley discountuine the Single Jointed body but I didn't know anyone who actually ordered the Single Jointed body. He's cute though. Congrats on finally getting him home!



P.S. Airi has been home for awhile now from her faceup appt but I'm waiting till her new eyes get her to post pictures.

 

It was Jeeryama's. I've been eyeing him for a while then they reduced his price. Perhaps that is why his pillows looked yellow with age maybe someone forgot he was there and they finally inventoried him or something. He has ruby red glass eyes in his head, like his co. photos, but I was told I could pick eyes out for him. Perhaps they didn't know he had eyes in his head already? He isn't yellowed at all he is still snowy white. His eyes are stuck in with blue tacky stuff not good for a white doll. I'm going to replace it this evening. I find out what kind of damage the blue tack did.
He definitely has the discontinued 45-001 body with the two part torso and single joints arms and legs.
I'm just so happy he is home.

I can't wait to see Airi.

 

Yeah DZ uses that obnoxious blue tack in all their dolls. does his head cap have magnets?

 

Yes, two pair of magnets, the ones on the headcap are in posts that fit into holes in the head.

 

Hmm, he's newer than Reino then. Hmm, It's odd that he has the Single jointed body. I'm not 100% sure when DZ switched their head cap system but Airi is a late 2009 and has magnets. Well then, he could be anywhere from ~2008 to 2014 when they discountuined the Single Jointed Bodies. So Helpful. But anyways enjoy your new boy! I ended up selling Reinos Single Jointed body.

 

He won't be doing acrobatics so I think we will be alright. I know how to wire him if I have to get a pose just so. Right now he and Chael are going over old times (yea, old times for 9 year olds). They look cute sitting together like little boys and girls do.

Edit: The blue tack didn't stain, so now he has silicone holding in his eyes.

 

I never had problems with colored putty for the eyes ^^" but I dopn't like the dollzone putty too because it's not really sticky V_V

I think my ren is the oldest. i forgot to mention, yes she is a dollzone Shoyo, but she has the hook system and all my other DZ have magnets >D
i prefer magnets - because it's annoying when you like to change eyes or small cloothes that don't fit other the head -.-

 

I use a tiny rubber band in Reinos head, though it broke a few weeks ago, need to fix that. Anyways I attach it to the Loop on the headcap then pull it down and attach the rubber band to his S-hook. I'm having problems now with Reinos head since I hybrid him the S-hook on his Doll Leaves body is too small to sit properly in his head so he can't move his head very much. I do agree the old hook system is super annoying though.
