I just wanna say how much I love the DZ body...It poses so easily for a single joint one.

 

Athenril: Thanks. The temp wig i had on Sylar is a Doll Chateau wig from the Alberta fullset. I have two of them but one was made wrong so it has what I call a puffy top in sense too big lol.

Elve: lol Im sure they enjoy the attention. Sylar knows hes cute but will never admit it.

 

Thanks, elve! xD All my dolls are pretty sweet/natural looking, so I wanted one that would be a complete opposite! Plus, I can go all sorts of crazy with his outfits.

 

Sooo - the next discontinuïng round has started - 11 msd´s this time. I think I finally have to get Aaron. Does anyone have some Aaron spam for me?

Lol - I have an Aaron on my wishlist and maybe either a reiko or a Lola. They will look amazing with my SD Clovera and Beetta. Though at the same time they might be too much of the same? So maybe just Aaron. BUUUTTT - should it be a boy or a girl??? Who can help me choose?
Can anyone spam Aaron? That would help!

 

I believe MoC mentioned a while ago when they got back from their visit with DZ last month? or the month before... gosh I don't remember everything is running together now lol that they would be discontinuing MSDs next. I'm not surprised since, being a small company, they are probably trying to lighten their load with all the old sculpts they don't want to make anymore or aren't making them much money. Making room for all the new stuff they plan on doing. I'm excited to see what new babies will come out of this.

Though I am also sad because this will potentially bump sales and thus continue their epic-long wait times. It's like every time DZ might potentially catch up (or at least get back to 3 months instead of 5 months waiting) they do an event to put them back.

NOOO, I have an AImi and a Dorthy on my wishlist and can't afford one much less two right now! . Might be time to bring home more blank heads. When will I ever finish the dolls i already have at home XD.

 

oh no I want about half those sculpts!.... No really I don't want any more midis....But just those ones!!! I've always liked Lola and Reiko - like you say Cyador, they have a resemblance to Beetta and Co. And there's my lovely Jake - should I get a twin for him? And Aimi and Luke....and Dorothy's cute, like Hal....And Kimi.... But no I don't collect midis any more - although I would like Raphael, having said that

 

I'm surprised Shoyo isn't on that list. She's way older than Dorothy. I'm seriously considered just getting the blank heads of Aimi and Dorothy, which I can get for about $130 and put on layaway so it's only like $23 a month. Oh also some Kimi spam since she's being discountuined now it looks like all my DZs besides my Shoyo will be discountuined molds. Oh also if I do go ahead and get the heads I'll probably throw some 1/4 string in there too, Airi's strings are 4 1/2 years old and probably need replacing soon.



But no seriously, DZ needs to stop all this discountuining. I haven't even finished the dolls I brought home LAST time they discountuined MSDs.

 

Man what else is Dollzone going to throw into the pit. I liked Aaron but I just couldn't justify him ever x.x Luckily I really am not keen on the rest of the MSDs. I doubt they are going to cull Carter any time soon. He's a popular boy

 

I should stop going on Mint on Card cause it's making me really want to order those heads. Not sure how long I'll hold out. Probably just till like morning . I'm very weak willed when it comes to doll purchases. I am however sad that DC is getting rid of their conjoined twin body at the same time DZ has listed this 11 dolls as being discountuined cause it REALLY wanted a Conjoined twin Hal, however I can barley afford two blank heads at the moment so a $400 body is totally out of the question. So it looks like I might have to give up my hybrid conjoined twin idea cause I've never seen any other conjoined twin bodies. If DZ keeps this chopping block up though I'm afraid of how many floating heads I'll have. I'm hoping Hal and Ro are safe for awhile. They're the only of DZs on the wishlist.

 

there's no news on dollzone's website about the discontinuation - or in the company news thread on DoA......?

Angelesque and MOC put them up - so the company must have let them know. They are for sale until the 30th of june - but are discontinued after that...

 

I must be blind - I can't see it on angelesque I am wanting a head for that PINK 1/4 body I got for my OFFWHITE Freddy head - but I think dz have changed the resin again? I'm wondering if bobobie 'pink' will be a better match for it? I can't see the point in trying to sell it, as nobody will have a head to match it

 

I know Resinsoul color matches if you send them a body part of the resin. It is pretty neat. Mean while Gabriel and Sylar are off in the distance plotting something. I don't know what... not even sure if I want to know.

 

elve: It's under the Dollzone section, Discontinued items. I'm personally glad they're discontinuing old/unpopular sculpts, means more new ones in the future! ^^

 

SInce I don't like the direction DZ has started taking their molds getting rid of the one's I like just means I'll be moving on from my DZ obsession soon. In other news I now have a Dorothy head and a Yan head on the way. I changed my mind about Annie after taking another look at her and decided Yan would work better for the character I had in mind and since I needed my order to be over $100 so I could put it on layaway I went ahead and bought Yan too even though she's not on the list...yet that is. I haven't seen many Yans around so I'm worried she's next on the chopping block anyways if they've already put Dorothy on there.

 

that's good to know Fush (about resinsoul - not about devious plotting!) I hope they're not planning on eating Pag and Olga when they arrive

thanks Athenril - I'll check it out I like both the old and new sculpts - I love my Jake and my Flora! Jake has a really sad look on his face today - I think he's mourning all his unborn brothers

equine-aurora I look forward to seeing your Yan - she's really cute I think too - although not going to be discontinued, so I guess you applied 'dolly logic' to that decision? I'd be lost without dolly logic - probably still only have 3 dolls in fact

 

Hehe yes, I applied Dolly Logic LOL. Like I explained earlier I needed my order to be over $100 so I could spread the payments out a bit and Yan also isn't very popular so I wouldn't be surprised if she is next to be discontined. Both of them are just going to be blank floating heads for awhile though. Though I'm hoping she's not too different from Airi in coloring so maybe I can pop her on Airi's body from time to time. They're both NS-P but Airi is 4.5 years old and yellowed a bit and from my understanding DZ has changed their NS-P since I ordered Airi anyways.

 

they've changed their pink 3 times since 2012 equine-aurora - Is a real nuisance as I now have a PINK pink 1/4 body which nobody will be able to get a match to for a head (bought for my Freddy head) - They have toned it down again now I think, I guess I was unlucky to order when I did - tis the luck of the draw with resin colours....

meanwhile, in spite of my crummy new camera, some Jakey spam to tempt everyone (I hope!) He is sitting with nude, very grown up now, Miss (sex) Kitty - but " it's not what it looks like!!! " - yeah right!

 

Kind of sad that the single jointed bodies will be discontinued. I love my SJ girl almost more then my double jointed MSD...But at least it's not the sculpts that I was worried about...Annie was a sculpt I really wanted and I don't see her or Yan thankfully on the hit list. I wanted to always get them as a pair one day because they felt like sister sculpts. XD;

 

yes Arashi Uchiha - I have an old single joint B&G doll (found on ebay) and it's so easy to pose compared to the double jointed dolls I have - she's nice and solid and no surprises with limbs twisted back to front etc!

 

Elve - Plus they just seem to be more well...Trust worthy as far as standing goes. My SJ girl has been standing posed with her knee popped slightly for three days now solid as a rock.

 

I was holding my breath when I saw DZ was discontinuing 1/4 sculpts. But then I was relieved that Elsa wasn't on the list. Yay! XD

 

Oh no! I have always had a really soft spot for Jake, but you never think about the company discontinuing something until it happens…dunno what to do…thank god they are giving us some time to decide, maybe I'll do layaway?

 

Artemos Jake is much more gorgeous in person too - his company pics really don't do him justice, as they have a great faceup artist now! He has the sweetest face - his eyes pull you in This is an older shot of him in a different wig, after I'd removed his giant eyelashes!

 

Jake is sweet! Seeing how much I still regret on missing out on Fei and am now going to go for an Aaron, I would recommend to at least get the head. You can always sell it later, but it is not that easy to find it if you do mis out...

This is the current look of my Jake, he is yellow skin 2012 (darker and less pink than the current one) and on the OO9 body without the thighjoints


He dropped from the table last month and broke a finger... I ordered new hands, but they will never match this almost tan yellow skin...

 

Now I will have to decide whether I buy or not Kimi... I have been doubting for some time >_< Ah... decisions, decisions...

 

that's great advice Cyador - Just get the head if nothing else Hybris - I know I regret not getting a Beetta head before they were discontinued - and another Clovera head - I wasn't really keen on hybrids back then, whereas now I think they're the perfect solution to the problem!

 

True, I thought about getting only the head in white skin, it's a good advice also because I like less the body ^^
What are nice bodies for DZ minis from other companies? if you know of any with rather short neck it would be appreciated, I hate long long necks.

 

If you go for a white head, you'll get a paperwhite resin colour - so any paperwhite resin will match. And it is easier to make a white head match with a white body that is slightly pink or yellow - easier than matching a pink skinned head. I like bodies with longer necks so I can not help you with that...

 

RS white is paperwhite too if that's any help.

I have a WS DZ head/Doll Leaves body hybrid and the match is excellent, the DZ WS is from Oct of 2012 though.

This is the only picture I have at the moment but I have taken some nude shots of her and just not uploaded them to photobucket or even gotten them off my camera now that I think about it if you'd be interested Hybris.

Well after much deliberation and searching for owner-pics, I've decided to order Lola's head from Alices Collections - NO EXCUSES (Cyador!) I just want her Always have - but 'I'm not collecting midis any more' .....of course....until dz discontinue them!!! Plus I do have that spare 1/4 girl body going begging, since it doesn't match my Freddy head (and he has fallen out of favour anyway poor thing) Of course my new Lola head will be yet another shade of pink *sigh* but never mind.....she can wear a scarf around her neck

Question: does anyone own an Aaron? I want this head on a girl body, but I am unsertain which body to order. Can someone please she this head on any of Dollzone girl msd bodies?

I'm really sad that their discontinuing Luke because I don't have the money for him. I had him set as my Paris and now I have to set another doll for that spot. Luckily I ordered the full set of Jake in February so I will have my Romeo.

Solitary agent - your Luke is cute! It helps when people post the dolls that will be discontinued . I 'll try and do a photoshoot with my Jake this month.

 

I was considering buying DZ Rosen for a while now and I was really lucky to find her at a local 2nd hand website. She is so beautiful and she poses great! I don't have any clothes yet for her, but the bunny came in handy.

Brooke is beautiful DirtyPinkTales I was thinking today about how similar she is to dz Aimi, which is being discontinued and was on my wishlist - I thought never mind - Rosen is just as pretty - I can get her instead! Not that I am getting any more midis of course......

 

Thank you so much elve I saw the announcement too and yes, indeed she actually does look a lot like Aimi. I'm glad they don't discontinue Raphael or Carter. I would love to get one of them (not sure which one ). That will be for not that near future though

 

I know people keep bringing up how they're glad Carter isn't being discontinued but I don't think it'll happen anytime soon as he's only from last year. Most of the sculpts they've been retiring are old ones so they can make room for the new.

 

BeePrince I don't think that stands entirelly true, Dorothy isn't that old either...

 

I believe Dorothy and Hal came out around the same time? (Since he's Scarecrow Hal) Which must have been long enough ago that they feel she's not popular enough to keep around. While Hal is. Carter came out in October of '12 and is pretty popular so it wouldn't make much sense to discontinue him. Like I said before it seems like they're only getting rid of old sculpts or sculpts that aren't bringing in enough money/aren't very popular.

But who knows maybe they'll just scrap them all in the next year.

 

I am also guessing they're discontinuing sculpts that do not get them a lot of money, I do not know if it has anything to do with how new or old a sculpt is though...

Anw, we'll just have to wait and see........

 

I'm sure it's at least partially a factor. Considering it seems like they're going in a new direction in terms of style. They probably won't get rid of anything old that's making them a decent amount of money still but like every company I'm sure they're reviewing the numbers and considering how old some of their sculpts are and wondering if it'll be worth it to keep making them. None of us can really know since I'm sure even if we asked we'd just get the 'Look forward to new products~' answer lol

Good luck to everyone hoping to order the discontinued items before they're gone, I hope everyone can make their purchases. And hopefully we'll be seeing even more new sculpts.

 

I saw a brief mention for spam of the molds being discountuined, I did post a picture of Airi, my Kimi on the other page right after I saw the news but here's another picture of her. And I also think it has more to do with popularity then age. Because they're getting rid of Dorothy but not like Mo, Megi, and Shoyo.

Yes, that's what I actually think too. They are making new bodies and I guess the new heads will be coming soon. I would love them to keep their mini line more mature though. The last 2 sculpts looked too childish for me. I loved the way the body looked though.
