Welp looks like we all got moved to a new thread. I managed to get outside today and do some photos in the snow with Morgen.
He didn't disappear in all the white! (and it wasn't as much snow as we had before but ah well)

I originally had it for a minifee that I recently got rid of but it fits and suits him rather well.

And now I am jumping through financial hoops to buy a body for my Freddy head, Ellis - It's very slimming being a doll-addict - normally I've spent a ton on luxury foods by now this time of year - and I eat most of it myself too LOL (well my son's always out - can't waste it!) We have treats this Christmas, but only a modest amount - I would rather buy resin, and Ellis needs to preserve her dignity and get off Erica's skirts and into her lovely outfit I've had MONTHS now!

Took a break from packing to find we've been moved to a new thread.
I'm really excited to share with you guys that I just ordered my Ro, who's name will be Rowan! I'm getting him blank in the normal pink because I'm going to mod his eyes open a bit more when he gets here but I'm really excited that I finally got him ordered. I've been planning him for awhile and I think Ian was getting impatient for his bf. lol
I'm also getting one of the event Eudora's, I just couldn't resist getting one once a name popped into my head.

I thought to pop in and show the progress im making on the megi head I have. He's going to be something for sure different. Hes going to have a blue theme for his ears and face up (when ever I get to it). I feel something is missing from the head besides color. I can't put my finger on it.

 

I am really liking the new 42cm B45-012 girl body that Ina and Gill are on. Hopefully when people start getting them I could ask for a comparison between the posing abilities of the 012 and the 010. Also I am hoping that DZ comes out with some MSD heads that are slightly more mature looking.

 

today I noticed 'Fush has been very quiet' So you've been busy then - he's looking very interesting! I never even think to mod my dolls - maybe I will feel braver in a few years time....

 

Elve: lol yes i been working on a few things for a swap i joined and working on the Megi head. I feel something is missing from the head. some kind of addition. I want to say horns but i have no idea XD.

I wanted to ask if anyone has a picture comparison of the new boy body (the bigger one) which is i think the 09 one and the 03 boy body. I been thinking about it since Sylar needs a bigger body then Gabriel. I don't want to go into the resin match unknown region. XD

 

maybe he needs a 3rd eye - in the middle of his forehead....

 

Elve: a third eye is kind of out of my range of modding at this moment since i don't have the right tools.

 

could you stick a flat backed acrylic one to the resin, then build up like folds of skin around it with sculpey or whatever? Maybe one of my dolls needs a 3rd eye!

 

Elve: I could but i think it'd look quite big and only flat backs i have are 16mm so way too big lol I will stare at him some more. I just might throw horns on him lol.

Gabriel wanted in and to try out the Scythe i been working on. its not done yet but its getting there. its fun to see what I have in my house to make doll props out of.

Elve: lol thats funny. The scythe isn't finished yet. i added to it. but yes that is funny. Sadly only image I think of when i think of Death is Julian Richings from Supernatural.

I figured out what my megi head needed. He looks really good with this kind of mod so far. Horns and ear tips will be blue themed and his make up will be blue also... I decided as a imp like thing he needs to have a doll leaves body which is shorter plus resin match isnt too bad. I been calling him Little Imple. So that must be his name lol.

 

Is it me or is Dollzone's new direction just using a LOT of reds? Especially around the eyes.

 

Arlo: I just looked at the new dolls and I have to say yes but my freddy doesnt have red on him oddly enough. just a lot of black.

 

oh I like those cute little horns on him Fush! What do you use to make such things - I have no idea?

Arlo I think it depends on the sculpt - they vary in style - and you can request an alternative faceup as I did with my Una - the default was black, but I asked for faceup like Randall, which was more natural coloured - I'm really happy with it!

Funny you should mention it though as I've just been looking at photos of Raymond, with all the red around his eyes - I really do not want my Raymond painted like that, but I can't really see an alternative which would suit him either....

 

Elve: Thanks! I use Polymer clay where I mold it then bake then stick it back on with super glue and sand around the area as seen needed. It really easy. The clay comes in many colors. That color is all I have on me right now and just as well im going to be painting it anyways. I use a art knife and my hands in general so (and nails lol) it might be something to look into. you can carve the clay even after its baked before painting to make sure its all good.

Well, I just mean, the 4 new girls they've released all look like they're a bit unwell, with their red eyes D:
I never order dolls with face ups anyway, but I just noticed this about the girls haha

 

I think this weekend i will start on his face up since the last mod i need to do is after his face is done which is a earring I found lol it was stuck in my laundry machine was using at the laundry mat. its a blue beaded earring with a nice blue feather. It will go well on him. Just one but a guy needs just one or he will look off.

I need to finish these items lol and hope i can beat the Christmas mail rush while sending them out. Im truthfully afraid of the mail right now. things take forever or get lost.

 

yes I need to sell some dolls to raise funds too - but I'm waiting till the mail has sorted itself out, hopefully in January sometime!

Arlo I think dollzone are going for the 'dying of consumption or laudanum' look at the moment LOL - they don't look very healthy that's for sure!

 

I think my dollzone order im going to make i hope today or tomorrow will be possible. I just looked at their site and not all the options are on there so i really don't want to make it hard on the dealer to go bartering with DZ about things. I only seen Aaron's fullset outfit for sale alone is on Mint on Card. so surely any dealer can order it if requested right?

I think im going to wait till after Christmas to mail anything. I don't trust anything. Not even till middle of January truthfully. right it gets so bad it takes over 4 weeks to go across a state boarder XD

Poor carter is my next doll im ordering. in this case im stealing his body for Sylar which is the new boy body which is taller then the body i currently have lol. And Carter's body will come from Resinsoul since they offer the cheap option for what I need (i don't have to get stuck with doll parts I don't need) so yay. Coral and Eudora is coming home too. The main concern is the clothing situation.

 

I'm not sure about that outfit Fush - Dollzone don't list it for sale seperately so I guess a dealer has to make a special request as there's no listing code for the order. As for postage etc. I really could buy (at a squeeze) Ellis' (my Freddy) body next week, but I am guessing what with New Year's and then Chinese New Year's holidays, it will take twice as long as normal! So I think I'll leave it till February - poor Ellis....

Although I discovered mirodoll's new 1/4 size girl body on sale today! Looks so much better than their old one, although no stats so I've no idea how tall it is - Hopefully they'll make a better boy body in that size too soon! Even so I think I might prefer to spend a bit more and get an Angel of Dream one....

 

The outfits are usually one a couple of days later. I don't know why either?

I would like it if Mirodoll offered a somewhat taller msd boy body, I just bought a Megi head - and there is no nps body for sale on the marketplace A new one won't do, for this is the 2012 nps.

So today may be my birthday. Sorry I'm posting so late in the day, been busy, but I was wondering if I could have some older Mold spam? Like the molds from about 3 years ago and older.

 

Elve: Yeah I poked the dealer and they told me they can order it. Sylar getting a 009 body with that outfit. And then in exchange of his floating head i get a floating Carter head lol. Maybe because its cheaper to buy the heads with a body for a future plan? and Coral and Eudora is coming home too. I'm quite thrilled that my twins will be finished soon. at this point all I need is to order Gabriel's outfit from AC who just added Dollzone to their list so yay! I was wondering when they'd add it. And send Gabriel off to get his face done with a certain artist i know

Elve: I had a plan already for Carter's head. Now he just needs the body XD Why is it so easy to get floating heads in this hobby. I see an endless pile of them XD That Wheel chair i was working on. it was for him and his character who is a mental patient. So I'm happy I am able to be getting things done and get what i want. Gabriel outfit is till in the future. At least he has a body and clothed whole Sylar is looking at me from his place on the desk.

Tristen: Thanks! I made the ears and horns out of Polymer clay. They are just add ons. Then baked it seperately since heat damages resin then I glued the ears on and sanded it to look better and more normal.

I am curious why Mint on Card shows items that were either not available on the Dollzone site or they been discontinued. Any ideas on this?

 

Either because they are still in stock for Mint on Card, they are able to get it for you from DZ, or because it was once stocked and they have not had the time to remove it from their website yet. Especially being a busy time of year for them they may forget. I once had to mention to them that their listings for the MSD bodies were wrong and they fixed it within the hour. (This was about a year ago). Those are my guesses anyway, you'd have to ask them to know for sure.

 

Beeprince: yeah i will ask them about it thanks. also how big is that doll Morgen is holding? I been wondering how big of a doll that would look correct in MSD size.

 

Oh, the little bun is about 3inches just his body and 4inches if you count in his ears. Hope that helps!
