DollZone mini 43cm Discussion Part 11

Gabriel decided since Peter my incoming Carter hasn't arrived yet but his outfit did so he stole it to try it on.

Here is what he looks like. The outfit is a hospital gown something you'd find in like a Mental hospital. It was custom made and came out awesome! Plus my Grandpa gave me that small baby doll I thought Peter would like it.

I'm not sure if anyone has asked this yet but I'm wondering if Ivan's wing would work on Gill? I don't think anyone but DollZone can answer that as of yet, I don't believe anyone has received one of these beauties yet. I'm so in love with this sculpt and those wings, ohh I wish I could have one of each!

 

Hi everyone So good to be back online after A MONTH with no internet, due to building maintence! Oh the horror - the boredom was so intense I ate far too much cake and chocolate Almost cured me of my shopaholic tendencies - and I downsized my dolly collection drastically just to pass the time (games like 'if the building set on fire - which doll would I rescue?' kept me amused for hours) And I also restyled most of the remaining dollies - including Flora, the only midi I'm keeping So good to see everyone's photos of some of my favourite dolls, including some new faces, and some gorgeous new faceups! Love Gabriel and Sylar playing dominoes Fush - clothes at last, yaaay!

Meanwhile Flora has some new 2-tone eyes I had in a YOSD size doll - I think with her eyes she needs 2-tone eyes, with the dark tone at the top, it looks like shadow from her eyelids - Once I'd removed her over-long default eyelashes, she just looked too wide-eyed with normal eyes in! She really needed eyelashes too, with having downcast eyes, so I found some brown ones from a smaller doll, which were perfect with her soft faceup (default one) - I just love her like this now - her wig is a 1/6 wig from fatiao on ebay

 

Elve: I'm glad to see you back! Thank you! That dominos scene is just a test run of when they get completed which will be soon. Sylar's shoes and both of their wigs are on the way and finally Gabriel's face up which im going to have to do a temp one for him plus this gives me a chance to practice. I will get someone to do his face up for me after my vacation.

Your Flora is very cute! I love those eyes! Where did you get them?

 

thanks Fush It's great seeing a doll come together - you have more patience than me I have to say! The eyes are flat-backed glass ones from an ebay seller - one of the big Chinese shops, maybe dollonline or milkyqueen/liwenjie? Bought them a couple of years ago so I forget....

Elve: Oh nice. I am still looking for Gabriel's eyes. The current ones are some yellowed Eyeco eyes that I got free with a 2nd hand doll. They temp so they work but not perfect. I'm happy they are finally coming together truthfully and ironically a head I ordered from IoS is going to be their father who is the Demon Duke hence where the demon part comes into play with the twins. I have an idea on who the human mother will be but that part hasn't been decided yet. She will come much later. We will have a family at some point XD Thats what im expecting from Soom is the Demon Duke's horns and clothing... then like anyone with floating heads the body issue XD

Fush - you must have a cool story or something going with your dolls to put your Peter in the hospital gown? It sound nice to have a whole story around the dolls.

 

Cyador: Yeah Peter is your insane rejected guy who has mental issues so he lives in a Mental hospital. At some point when I figure out how to make him an amputee. Hes losing both legs from his knees down, a hand, and elbow down on the other arm. I have the bed I want to get him which would fit the scene. Peter is the one who sees giant rabbits that does not exist. I do plan on doing a picture story to show one of his days XD I do plan on adding in the twins to the Photo story because Sylar plays a part in it and Gabriel too. I totally already made a storyboard lol.

I love making stories for my dolls. It helps create them into dolls that are worth keeping. One of the issues I been having with my Winged Hazel is I cannot find the right story for her so she been sitting in a box all in pieces in a closet till her new string comes and when I finally figure out what im doing with her.

 

I finally found the time (and energy) to give my Freddy a faceup. I have modded her; sanded the areas next to her mouth, sanded her chin and removed fangs.

Snow: Omg I love your Freddy! What an amazing doll! Now im kind of hoping that DZ releases something just as epic for their Summer event. What is her name? Sylar would in interested in her lol.

 

Thanks! I was very pleasantly surprised when they released these event heads. I hope they keep doing things like this.

This is going to sound like a silly question but I can't seem to find the answer. Is the scar on Hid part of his face up or is it actually carved into his skin? All of the pictures I have found have the scar or have hair covering that part of his face.

Hey. Sorry I haven't been on. Moving countries on your own was tougher than I thought.

My poor girl, Lacey isn't taking it too well. I wasn't able to pack any of her clothes than the ones she wore, and her wig got smushed and crazy tangeled on the flight, so she's bald at the moment. She's been having a sook.

I have photos, but I don't know how to upload them from my phone.

 

Kinda new to the party, but I figure I'll jump right in with Sid. He's a megi with the most unruly wig ever, but apparently the 'cousin it' look is his thing. He's also very, very freckly, so I figured I'd include his knees 'cause I love them.

I did just order my future Tan's carter's outfit so I can figure out what body it fits on. I figured my Future tan carter will be named William. He's a Military type. Uniform and everything. I never seen a Tan Carter in here truthfully.

On the other hand Gabriel is being prepped for his face up which will be one by me in a couple days. I think all of you will enjoy it even Elve

meanwhile after a 4 month wait, my Freddy's body came in this morning (girl body) - And of course by now I knew there was no way going to be a match of resin colour. BUT it is a lovely body, really beautiful resin, well strung, nice and squeaky Just a little problem of it being headless! This is a pic of my Freddy head in Summer 2013 'pink' compared to the hand in the background (November 2013 order) and the 1/4 body ordered in December 2013.....who knows if this is the same 'pink' as they are doing now though? It's a lovely colour I think - I don't really have a preference as I like them both, but I do wish it was consistent, so that I could order a head for this body and be sure it would match! But as I discovered putting my white miss kitty head on an AoD body, a faceup can disguise a colour mismatch - blush that chin! Oh and I am pretty sure that the pink has faded in both my Clovera and my impldoll pink - it does improve over time nicely.

 

Elve: So do I XD its only temp since he needs some kind of life on that poor blank face of his till after July. I am going to be taking them for a Park stroll and shoot. They may not have wigs but if anyone asks they are sporting the bald fashion for summer XD lol.

 

@ELVE thank you! he needs more clothes, but he's gonna have to wait on them. I kind of want to get him some band shirts, but I'd probably have to make some iron-on transfers or something.

Oh gosh you guys, Plum took a tumble recently from about hip-height, straight onto the mini plastic crate I keep faceup supplies in. Her wig and headcap flew off, and she landed right on both her hands. I stood in shock for about a minute staring at her, and all I could think was how I was never going to find replacement hands in her color now that Dollzone's completely revamped their tan. I picked her up, and nothing was broken! I am so thankful, my sweet Plum!

It wasn't shocking enough to get new spam of her, sadly. All my dollies got moved to the side where they didn't need a blanket over the heads of the dolls closest to the window. I dropped my Dollfie Dream and nearly my Super Gem as well, and I spent another length of time standing in shock worrying about their default faceups. However, I do wish even more I had some potential replacement hands to keep just in case something tragic happens to either Plum or Lock. I'm going to need to do some research.

 

Hi guys, does anyone here know if the current normal pink skin would match the one made in 2012?

I have a Dollzone girl I got in late 2012 and her skin color is a perfect match for my Souldoll heads. I want to buy Dollzone bodies for those heads, but really want to know if the current skin color would match as well...

 

It will match the 2012 skin when you have let it yellow a bit. I think it is a good match for the 2012 pink skin as it was when the dolls were brand new. So if you buy it now it will match the 2012 pink skin in about a year... I do not know about souldoll. I think it might be a reasonable match. You could go to Think Pink and look at the ones they have in stock now. BUT there is no garrantee that Dollzone will keep the current pink skin.

 

-Happy dance!!- Hello everyone! So I am going to try to be more talkative in this thread, and participate more. BUT! right now I just wanted to show my boys' new hands XD. I have always been confused as to what sculpt he is, he's very old, like no double joints in the elbow old lol. He has yellowed but I don't care, he is my Sam and I am smitten with him and he's just so cool to me XD. Anywho, a very nice person was selling their Doll family H jointed hands, and I jump to it so quickly! I've never had jointed hands before, but I didn't like his big clawed like hands, so we'll see what happens. ^^

Ballet: he looks an awful lot like a Megi but he's eye holes are too big so maybe a modded Megi? Either way he's adorable

Ballet Oh, he's pretty cute ^__^ Perhaps he is a XI - Aleister sculpt. As i know Dollzone has only three large boys heads for MSD. It`s Hid, Rei and Xi.Perhaps there is someone else, but I never saw him.
Well, anyway, I sewed a new costume for Gen ^w^
I have not finished the last one, because I could not find the right fabric. And while I was looking for it, I realized that I no longer want to sew this costume. Х_Х

that's very creative body blushing saylor - I love his little nipples too - so realistic! I'm so scared of messing up my dolls, I barely touch them, which is a shame really as they are little more than very expensive ornaments at the moment

 

Still waiting for my (Aaron, DZ) Tierney's blue wig from HaselsAesthetics on Etsy, and his current wig is starting to look a hott mess. I swear I need to get a toothbrush soon.
But! Some of his clothes from ttyacom came in! SO happy with them holy cow. Such amazing quality.


Both the sweater and the pants are from ttyacom on etsy. The boots are from somewhere on ebay. I plan to replace them with some new boots soon with crochet lace on them. > 3< So excite!

Not really sure how to describe it...Noah weighs about the same as my Resinsoul Song.

 

never weight it, but I think it is not heavy. I don't have other MSD to compare but it is lighter than my Eng. text book (not sure it can help... maybe not )

I'm checking on Mystic Kids' 1/4, they said their doll weight is 560g. (1/4 girl)
DZ may weight about the same since the measurement is about the same

Meanwhile I don't know what to do with the 1/4 girl body I ordered for my Freddy head - with it being SO PINK - seriously pink - But I know pink fades over about 6 months as my impldoll was quite pink when new, but is now a lovely mellow (Caucasian) skintone - So the body is out on a shelf - hoping it fades. But it's been so long for my Freddy and Pandora that I have quite lost interest in them and now looking for another head for this body. I would order a dollzone one BUT of course - I have no idea if the pink will match by the time I get it!

 

I know how you feel, elve. My Freddy has given me more headaches than I ever wished for. xD If you hadn't recommended the AoD body, I'd be in the same boat as you right now, color-wise. If it's any consolation, it looks to me like DZ's 2013 pink gets more intense as it mellows, so maybe after a while they'll match better? And a lot of blushing would definitely help the match, maybe a nice faceup will rekindle your interest? ^^ It did for me!

 

Sid wants to know exactly why I got him girl's underwear as well as his new wrist cuffs and collars. He's pretty slow on the uptake, but I guess that means it'll be a surprise when his new friend arrives, right?

thanks Athenril - I do love the Freddy and Pandora sculpts but they aren't my style of doll at all, although I have tried - I'll keep them to draw maybe - they are so detailed they'd be good artist's models! As for last year's anaemic 'pink' well I have several dolls in that resin and they are really more like off-white - they look quite sickly, poor things! Flora has a very pink faceup though and like you say she looks a lot pinker for it - I have dressed her top to toe so only her hands and face show anyway

 

Today i think is when my thing that measures how heavey packages are arrives so I can weigh someone for everyone to see how heavy they are. Ironically i just put Sylar's shoes and socks on so all they need is Gabriel's face up and wigs

I will just weigh them with the clothing and shoes on because to me there isnt much difference.

 

I just got my first Dollzone boy, a second hand Raphael, and I am in loooooooove with him! His name is Anson, and so far I know he's a big Type-O Negative fan, ahaha!
