I have just ordered a Seola7 head in freshskin... I have no idea yet on what body she will end up, but I am just in love with her...

 

My elf body has shipped!
Its only been about 5 weeks.

 

Only five weeks? :O I hope they ship out the 18yr dolls that quickly. I finished my layaway early and am not just waiting on their manufacturing time.

 

Okay, so I made the last payment for 18yrs body and Hwan yeaterday. I'm hoping that they'd be shipping out the first preorder in april or may, because that's when the next preorder starts.

 

My Seola has been shipped!
I have chosen the 7yr head and the 5yr body in freshskin (because there was no 7yr or elf body avalaible right now or in preorder... and I like small dolls with big heads anyway... blythe addict here ^^)

 

How exciting dolls are coming home!

I am new to this thread, but a long time admirer of dollstown dolls and am finally about to order an elf body. I do have some questions though...how long is the preorder period? It looks like it is going on now for the elf body in fresh skin that I want, so am I safe to wait a few days before I order? Also, what is the deal with the extra hands?
Should i order them too?

 

I just payed for Seola7 on 7 years old body in oriental. So she would arrive in a week or so. Also waiting for Amy on 13 years old body, also in oriental, and still have to pay off my new 18 years old girl (one payment to go). So, i've been pretty crazy with ordering DT girls. For some reason they have great appeal to them. Love everything about their sculpts, from faces to their bodies.

 

Yeah!! My 15yo boy came today. What a wonderful body - now on to the face up.

 

My paletan soph b on elf body just arrived yesterday. I am totally in love! I want to order a 18 year body next, still deciding on head, but unsure what color. I have two paletans which are probably my favorite, but also like the paleskin. At least we have awhile to decide

03/15/12 - I paid the first payment of my layaway for order Mui head and 15 yo body for him.

 

My Amy on 13 y.old body arrived two days ago which was a total surprise for me. I already gave her a face up. I love her.
Still waiting on Seola7. She should arrive very soon.

My Seola will be on 7 y.old body (oriental) and she was shipped yesterday. So, if everything will be okay, i'll see her in the few days.

I've been gritting my teeth and trying not to ask about a shipping schedule for the 18yr dolls, but I finally broke down last night and asked. An Jong Hak had good news!!


Hi, The reproducing center is reproducing other dolls(some 7yrs and 13yrs doll, and 18yrs doll ordered at February) now..
and I received already few 18yrs doll, and I will ship the first 18yrs doll from next week.

and for 18yrs of the preorder at June..
I will order the new reproducing of 18yrs dolls at 7 June to the reproducing center. so the reproducing ordered at June will be completed at August~September.

Great news St James! I hope you are in the first batch. I missed out on the first order, but I'm ready with $$$ for the June order. I am really looking forward to seeing the new owner pictures of the boy and girl 18yr bodies.

 

My Hannah on elf body is on her way home after less than 5 weeks! This is one of the fastest BJD turnarounds I have ever experienced! I must say I am very surprized and delighted!

 

Thank you for good news, St.James. I ordered 18 y.olg girl in the first preorder. Hopefully i'll see her soon. I have to check for the website for the shipment notice, maybe she is shipping already. That would be neat surprise.

Does Dollstown do emailed shipping notices now? I haven't bought a doll from them since '09, but I'm pretty sure we still have to check our original post on the order board to get a tracking number.

 

This is the first time I have ever ordered from them, so I do not know. I think the person I was talking to on the board said I would be emailed the tracking, but I cannot recall for sure. Regardless, I know I will constantly check both.

 

Just checked with DT about 18 y.old girl body and my oriental was not in the first batch that arrived. Estimated delivery one month or more.

 

St. James: It's true I got an email notice with the tracking number from An Jong Hak when he shipped my doll last January.
I think that with the growing popularity of their dolls, the order board is moving so fast that it is maybe becoming too hard to find your original post to check for updates?
Anyway, I was very happy with the new service - I felt more confident that I wouldn't miss their shipping notice.

 

Great! Thanks zozolala! Now I can check the site less obsessively. Dollstown is a PITA to navigate on an iPod touch.

 

I got my Hannah on her elf bod today and she is as nice as I expected, graceful lines, nice solid resin quality, and plenty of character. For those of you who are first time Dollstown buyers, the customer service was impecable. I got very personalized communication direct to my email.

I was surprized DT does'nt supply a company box, certificate, or even eyes. I did get some eye putty and a strip of wig velcro which was nice, but kind of odd.

 

My DT18 girl body is on her way! Just checked my emails and there was one to say she had been shipped, I am surprised as it is only a couple of days ago they told me she would be about a month. Just hope for a short stay in customs (or even slip past them altogether).

I managed to put in a layaway for the 15 year old boy body before the offer period ran out (my 3rd 15yr old body @_@ ) as they are great posers and are perfect for Minimee heads @aheartbea

 

Well, Tristesse is a boy, but I bought the 18yr girl body. He is supposed to have been castrated, and I am going to try to mod the body to look like that. However, I plan to take some photos of it before I start mods. ^^

 

I received my Mui on 15 yo boy body and sent him to the make-uper. 3 days ago I placed another order - Deogi on 5 yo girl body.

 

I patiently waited for updates on my tracking number, but after a week of nothing, I contacted Dollstown. They said they are very sorry, but they gave me the wrong tracking number the first time, and my package already arrived a few days ago. . . to someone else. XD They think I should contact the post office. . .

The apartment office did not alert me that they got a package for me, but I will just hope until tomorrow, when I can check that the new office girl's name is Dallas, and she simply forgot to tell me about the package, and it's been sitting in the office for a few days. Otherwise, someone decided to sign for and keep a large, eyeless, hairless, naked doll they did not order, apparently.

I ordered the DT15 Boy body (orientalskin), just on the last day. Had to go with layaway - THANK YOU, Dollstown!

I've had a head here (DIM), sitting around since 2007. I've tried two different girl bodies with it - no luck.
Finally, back in 2009 I tried it on a DT15 boy body I borrowed from a friend, and loved it. Kept waffling over it though, over the years... Bought other dollies... Finally, Dollstown had to give us an ultimatum! So, I broke down, and asked about layaway. Thankfully, I can manage it, especially considering that it'll probably take yet another 3 months for these bodies to be reproduced, and get ready for shipping.

So, here I am!

 

Tristesse, my Estella is here. ^_^ The 18yr girl body is stunning. It is well made, detailed, elegant, and very, very big. Big O_o I was becoming slightly concerned my plans to make it a boy would not work, and while it is beautifully feminine, I think the sheer size of it compared to my other girls (and boys) will help it be believable.

I am glad I did not buy clothing or shoes for him yet. The feet look like they are closer to typical male sized feet, and the arms and legs are pretty thick.

 

Congrats louiselle! I am really looking forward to your pictures (both before and after mods). How do you like the pose-ability of the body?

 

Thank you, Lace Princess! I will hopefully get to take some photos over the weekend. I like the pose-ability, though if I have one complaint about that, it has to do with the torso joint. There is very little movement in it, and when it does move, it pops out in an unsightly way that shows the gap between the two parts. The flexible toes are really not that flexible, but I think they will allow the doll to wear high heeled or flat shoes (if girl shoes will even fit) I like the posing of the knees and arms. The double jointing is very nice, and the body can kneel very well. It seems like a small thing, but I am also very pleased with how easily the head can rotate and tilt. It bothers me when the head motion is limited (which seems like most of the time with my dolls), so I am glad this doll does not have any issues with that.

The mods are going to be very difficult because this body seems too perfect to take sandpaper to XD I think the mods are going to be lighter on the body than I orignally planned and heavier on the face (I am not sure if I like Estella's nose). I am going to try to take some of the weight off of the breasts without altering the shape too much or making the chest flat, and I will add a tiny epoxy evidence that he is male.

The body is interesting when compared to my other dolls. I thought it might be too feminine and skinny and not work for what I wanted, but compared to my other dolls, the 18yr has a large chest (not breasts, the actual chest), is very tall, and looks big and bulky (kind of the way I would expect a castrato to look) Yet at the same time, the body lines flow delicately, and it is a graceful, soft looking doll.

Yes, all things considered, I love this doll.

I can't wait to get my Hwan. I've never seen a bigger than a 1/3 doll irl, so I can't even imagine what it'll feel like to get the 18 yrs boy!

Does anyone know how Dollstown is choosing who gets the dolls first? I was just wondering, because I was like the second person who placed the order when the 18yrs became available, yet I haven't received a shipping notice. Now I wish that I hadn't checked this thread yesterday the wait is making me crazy, lol.

 

I don't think any 18 boys have been shipped yet. So far the only dolls that have arrived are 18 girls. My guess is that Dollshe Craft cast the girls in the first batch and the boys in the second, so they won't arrive until later.

I just asked Anjonghak, and she said that the 18yrs boys bodies have arrived, but the heads haven't arrived yet, and it will be a few weeks.

So has anyone received a shipping notice for an 18 boy body? I noticed that An Jong Hak told one customer he'd ship bodies first and the head later when it arrived. I was kind of hoping that those of us who just ordered bodies would have news by now, since theoretically those orders could ship without delay.

St.James: I ordered an 18yr old boy body in Feb, then decided to add on Hyun girl head in March. So far I've heard nothing. I hope orders will be shipped before new orders are accepted (within the next 2 weeks) I'm hopeful ^^

Well, he's bouncing from Incheon to Anchorage to LA and back up to SF, so it will be late tonight when he gets off the plane, so I'm guessing he won't be delivered to me until Thursday if customs pulls him aside. Will take photos as soon as I get him home though!

Well, both Zev01 and I ordered fresh-skin, maybe he's working through what he received by color? Or are you waiting for a complete doll?

Hehe actually I think my order was the second... I'm listed right after Gabi... but more to the point, I'm waiting on a full Hwan in Oriental, and haven't heard anything, so I think its just a freshskin batch. Whats weird is they've been sitting on the boy bodies for weeks, if what they told me is true.

 

Well, it is going to take him a couple of weeks to do the finish cleanup and stringing of each doll. Dollshe Craft doesn't do that part for him.

 

Yup, St. James, If you ever see the boxes of new doll parts from the some company's pictures, it is no small task to sort , clean, finish and string. Then they have to pack , address and ship. Some of them only employ a hand full of workers, so a few weeks is not so long !
