Dollstown Waiting Room ~2~

My boy got his wig and some clothes today....almost fully dressed now!
I wonder how long it will take my Amy to arrive?

 

My Mari and Ganga both have arrived at last! They are oriental skin, but they are not pink, they are light-light cofee, may be. Please, anybody who has a doll with oriental skin, could you, please, let me know, if it is OK or not.

 

My Hue is orientalskin, I'd say it was sort of a beige tone, but definitely not pink .

 

Solymar, all of my DT dolls are Oriental skin and I would agree with Treehugger and describe the color as very light beige, even ivory, but with peach undertones.

 

Absolutely... oriental is a very, very light beige...with slight peach undertones. It is a beautiful color... but of course, I love all of their resins.

 

Dollstown... grrrr! Looks as if a few months before considering an order. I don't have the money to lay out to way 2-3-4 months. I'm sure they are upset as... they can't be bringing in as much money as they would like to. Hope they keep right on sculpting new sculpts. Anybody have any luck with their heads on other bodies other than DT?
Oh, about the DT 13 girl knees... I have found that hot glue sueding helps alot. Otherwise... criss cross/kicky wicky.

 

So quiet in here.. no one got a boy or girl shipped in the meantime?
I ordered my Yeondu at the end of September, so it might take another while :P Keeping myself from checking the DT order board.

 

I'm waiting patiently for my Amy, I ordered her on Oct' 5th , I check the site at least once a day and wish I would have a message to say she's been shipped

 

Hi All...my poor Amy sits headless awaiting her 13yr body. I thought that perhaps it might arrive early like all the others I've ordered from DT, but I guess they are really busy. Hopefully it will arrive by the middle of December.

 

What sort of wait times have people been experiencing? I *just* ordered my first DT Girl - a Seola 7 in Oriental Skin. I'm so excited that the wait is *already* killing me!

 

Congrats Red_Delerium, you will be hooked now after seeing your Seola , DT dolls are so addictive...as regards the wait, if it's a pre order then at least 6 weeks to 2 months is about average, I don't think you will have to wait much more than that unless there is a promotion on, when I bought my 15 yrs girl body it took 4 months of waiting because Dollshe do the casting for Dollstown and there was also a promotion on with Dollshe pure bodies at the same time and it really slowed every thing down for months, in fact it's still a bit slow even now, and I think when they start to sell those 18yrs bodies it will be chaos ,Lol...there's been lots of people eagerly awaiting to order the 18 bodies

 

When I ordered my Seola and Ganga (early 2010, long before they started doing preorders), it was only 2 weeks - so I'm a bit spoiled

I ordered Yeondu/13 at the end of September, so I will drop a note on the DT order board in a few days, to find out if they have an estimate for shipping yet. I really, really hope that my girl will be home for Christmas, but I don't know.. Dutch customs is known for delaying everything with another 2 weeks, too

 

Thanks treehugger & zozo! Yes, I'm expecting a wait of about 2 months - or maybe longer - but we'll see! zozo - I would LOVE to know the response you get from DT - it would definitely help to gauge how long my wait will be. I'm crossing my fingers for you!

 

I just got a reply from An Jong Hak, and he said it will take another 2-3 weeks more.. He's still waiting for some of the 13-yr bodies (ordered in September) to arrive from the reproduction center.
*sniff*! So my girl will definitely not be home in time for Christmas. But she will make a great start of 2012

 

Awww - what a bummer, zozolala. But I agree, she will make a wonderful start to the new year! Thanks for posting your wait status, too - it really helps me to gauge what sort of wait time I'll be dealing with.

 

I also got a reply from Anjonghak and it seems there is a delay *sigh* I was so hoping to have my Amy in time for Christmas, but doubt it now

 

Oh well - If the September orders are delayed I bet my elf body ordered in October will be too. My poor Arin will have to keep floating.

 

It's so frustrating waiting for preorders, I won't be buying another for a long time, I'm all waited out this year! Lol

I hope DT will catch up.. but with the new 18-yr heads and bodies coming out soon, I don't know.. Are they still dependent on Dollshe's work schedule? Anyone knows?

My mom is getting me some really cool 1900-1940 fashion books for Christmas (had to buy them myself, lol) so I think I will have lots of inspiration to dress my young lady. Looking forward to that very much.

 

I'm waiting for elf body in fresh skin. I ordered on October 1st, so hopefully, i should get it by the end of December.

 

Has anyone had news of shipping yet?....I'm so fed up now with waiting, also I asked if I could change the Amy head for a Yeondu head and Anjonghak said it would be OK I don't know why it is taking so long

 

I've heard nothing either. My order was placed for a 13yr body on Oct. 2, and they said it would be two months. I keep checking the board to see if there's anything and sadly there isn't. So, I guess there's nothing we can do but wait...sure isn't fun, though!

 

Nope - nothing here, either. But I placed my order pretty recently - just a couple of weeks ago. I don't expect to hear anything for a long time...

 

I placed my order for a 13yr Yeondu on 5th October, and I'm checking the order board more than once a day....I wish they would hurry up....it would have been nice to have her home for Christmas

 

I'm also waiting for an elf body - ordered October 1. Hopefully it will be here by Christmas. My little Arin is tired of floating.

 

I think it is going to be new year when my doll finally arrives

 

I was just wondering if anybody had got a full refund after cancelling a doll order??.....I've been waiting so long for my 13yr old girl I don't know if I want her any longer

 

I just got a reply from AnJongHak a few minutes ago, that there still is a delay. Obviously!
But I know they can't help it.. and that helps me -a little- to be patient. My girl will ship eventually - I just wish they could tell me if it's going to be another week, or two, or another month.

Treehugger: hang in there! If you cancel now, after such a long wait already.. you might regret it later, and have to do it all again - and who knows how long the wait will be in the future? AnJongHak said in his reply that he is waiting for the dolls from the production centre, so at least they are being made right now.

 

OMG! finally!...I asked Anjonghak how much longer it was going to be before my Yeondu is shipped, and he replied he had received my doll today and she will be shipped this week! So I'm sure glad I didn't cancel my order now!

 

Oh WOW treehugger1961 - CONGRATS! How exciting!

Yay, Treehugger! That is wonderful news, and of course I'm on pins and needles now to hear more about MY 13-yr Yeondu I so hope they were in the same batch, and that it also means that all orders from September / October will ship.

I'm hoping that I'll get mine soon, too. I ordered a 7 year Seola in Orientalskin - and I just noticed that on their order page, they are now the "in stock" color, no longer the "available for pre-order color". I'm REALLY hoping this means I'll have my girl soon!

Preorders and a 3 months wait isn't unusual for the doll world, but it is for DollsTown.. Hopefully they caught up and will be able to get back to their normal 2-3 weeks in the new year!

Treehugger: Funny to think that our Yeondus will probably be traveling together for most part.
I really hope Dutch Customs will be easy on me this time, and not keep my girl hostage for another 3 weeks!

Treelore - I'm waiting on an elfbody too. I ordered October 1. The last communication was right before Christmas and he thought 2-3 more weeks. So hopefully in the next couple weeks!

 

It does take a bit of the bonding away when one waits a long time. I have Glorydoll Lucy head with faceup sitting here growing tired.....

 

Well I've been checking the tracking on and off all day and nothing is happening....yet..I also worry about customs! I just had to pay £22 ransom for an Elfdoll Sia head before Christmas, I'd also had a very long wait previously so by the time it arrived home I no longer wanted it, so I sold it on ebay...waiting has it's drawbacks for sure

 

I got a response on the Order Board, and my girl is being sent out today - Hoooray!!!

Now begins the obsessive tracking # checking for the next week....

TreeLore & Xiaoli - what resin color are you waiting on? I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Treehugger: Wow.. that is FAST! My girl just hopped on the plane home earlier today!
But we've had some really heavy storms over the past days, and I know the airport and flight schedules have been a mess. It's all good, as long she's on her way home

 

I've been checking the progress of Yeondu all day and she still hasn't moved from customs! aarrgghh....I hope they move her on soon ...without charges

 

Yeah! My body has shipped - oriental skin elf body. Its on a flight to the US. Usually it takes about 3 days so It could be here Monday. My Arin head will be very happy.

Treehugger: My girl arrived at Amsterdam Airport last night, but I'm not holding my breath when it comes to Dutch Customs.. last time they held my DT Ganga hostage for almost 10 days.. it drove me crazy. So this time I'll just check once a day and try not to get too frustrated :P
I hope UK Customs isn't like that!

 

How did you guys get your tracking? did you can an email sent to you? or is there some place to look on the board. I had problems login into the board so my order is not on there, I had to email it to her.

 

I just kept checking a few times a day, then I got sick of waiting and checking so asked Anjonghak why it was taking so long and he replied he had just got my doll and would ship her later in the week.
zozolala ; I hope it isn't so long a wait for customs to release our dolls....I really hate customs!

 

Ugh - I hope customs is kind to you both, treehugger & zozolala! My girl is in customs right now, too - but it's not such a big worry here in the U.S. I'm thinking that my girl will be delivered on Monday. If not, then certainly on Tuesday.

 

My girl has made it through customs and is in upstate (Buffalo NY). So assuming my husband is home when the mail comes tomorrow I should get her when I get home from work.

 

Well I got a reply to my what's the status email - will be another two weeks.

Congratulations to all of you have their dolls on the way. I've still heard nothing and I ordered 10/2, so I will probably send an email to them if I don't hear in the next day or so. I hope everyone gets out of customs without too much pain!

 

I am considering ordering from Dollstown but reading here has me a little worried. - Does it sometimes takes months to receive your dolls even if they are showing in stock on their website? I am in US. Are there also additional custom fees? Thanks for your help. Lucy

 

If the doll shows as in stock on the website (the text will be in green), then there is no delay. Only pre-orders have the wait for casting. If you are in the US, there are no customs fees.

 

Arin's body made it yesterday.
Cookielucy - I have never had to pay customs fees on any dolls. I have had dolls listed in green come in 2 weeks - those are the ones in stock. When I ordered my body he thought it would be December so it was only a week late.

 

Cookylucy: Treehugger is from the UK, and I am from Holland, where the dreaded European Customs are.. You don't have to worry, US Customs claims no fees on imported dolls.

Xiaoli: Congrats! I'm glad everything went smooth for you, and I bet Arin is happy to have a body

Treehugger: My girl entered Customs on the 9th.. And I won't know what the ransom is before the delivery man rings my doorbell and tells me. That is the worst part, to see them standing there with a big box I can't have yet and to make them come back the next day so I can get the $$$$ first.. I hate it, too!
A few years back it was possible a doll would 'slip through', but not anymore. They've become VERY punctual.
