Dollstown Waiting Room ~2~

Mar 19, 2011

    1. And my payment is made... Mr AnjongHak said he'd do the faceup once I'd paid and then ship the doll...so...

      *squee*

    2. My Jea and Deogi 5 year old head in oriental skin came today.

Took 17 days from ordering to delivering for in stock items. Really happy!

    3. congrats to youuuu! please post pictures <3

    4. So, today I ordered and payed for 18yr boy body in fresh skin. Now the waiting begins. (But I kinda expect that I'll have the body sooner than the head it is for. The head was ordered 3 months ago, so it should have a headstart, however it's Dollshe so... I'll be happy if this headless body gets its head in 2019 :XD: )

    5. Just made the last payment on my Elf Girl Jun! A little bummed that he wasn't available in the skin tone I wanted but I'm just happy to have ordered the doll at all before it was discontinued. I'll probably have a resin dye party once he comes home. Dollstown said they've received the doll and are ready to ship, so he should get here very soon!

    6. My little Deogi is languishing in customs...don 't know how long it will be till she is released on payment of the ransom... *sigh*

    7. Ordered a 18yrs girl body today for my Edria head that just shipped. Now in for the wait!

    8. Deogi Arrived yesterday, so I'm out...it's been 6 months or so between ordering and delivery - I did have a layaway, but the last couple of weeks before she was sent, Mr Anjonghak said he was busy...

    9. Mr Anjonghak must be very busy indeed, because I ordered a Luna Elf whole doll on December 25th, paid in full, and only towards the end of March did my order status change to processed, despite the fact that the doll was marked In Stock on her sale page. It's my first time ordering from Dollstown, so I'm not sure what his status categories mean. Does Processed mean "I have your money, now I will start to make the doll" or does it mean "the doll is finished and will ship soon"?

    10. Well, I also ordered first time from Dollstown, but my order was marked as processed almost immediately. (I ordered 18yrs boy body in colour which wasn't in stock at February 26th this year.)
So I don't really know what does it mean...

    11. It sounds as if my order also should have been marked as processed immediately. There must be a glitch in his computer program.

    12. I decided to ignore the fact that my Elf Luna hadn't shipped yet and sew her a dress. I finished the dress Wednesday--all but sewing the snaps. I need to fit the dress on the doll before I do that. On Thursday I received an email that Luna would ship on Friday. Now I'm waiting for the tracking to update, because she should have landed in New York several hours ago.

Elf Luna has arrived (April 15, 2019). No photos yet, as I'm waiting for a warmish day without precipitation to do her face-up. I'm having trouble finding her a wig. So far LeekeWorld size 7/8 seems to be the best fit.

    14. Hello I'm curious if anyone is experiencing longer than normal wait times for dollstown? I'm curious because the waiting for dollshe is very long and I wonder if it has affected Dollstown at all?

    15. I was wondering this too. I ordered my first doll from them a month ago so I don't have a previous order to benchmark it against

    16. @vermont chick: Your Elf Luna is gorgeous. I love the soft, feminine face-up you gave her!

    17. Thank you so much @tokidolls. I had a lot of fun painting her.

    18. I just got my shipping notice, and I placed my order March 13th-ish?

Tbh I wasn't expecting her this early :? I figured I'd be graduated and be working my first job lol. Oh well, hopefully I'll get some graduation money so I can buy her things!

    19. Put in an order to day for elf body in fresh skin for my Seola7 floating head :) Sooo excited! My paleskin Seola7 elf will get a twin :celebrate sort of. Sister. Cousin!

    20. For those asking about DT wait times:
My other experiences waiting for dolls or bodies or heads from DT have been anywhere from 10 weeks to as little as 3, for pre-order items. Fastest was my last Seola7 head, Dec 2018, took only 3 weeks, longest was my Seola13 on 18 year old body in 2015, 10 weeks.

    21. Two days ago I went to save my DT 18yrs boy body from customs office. I am so happy. I'll share some pictures later. I was quite surprised how light it is (but maybe my only other doll body - Dollshe 28M pose+ - is just really heavy).
      I was waiting 3 months.

    22. Went ahead and placed a DT 18yrs Girl Body in Copper Oriental on layaway with an additional pair of 17yr Girl Vision Feet back on Dec 23, 2018; DT had messaged me on May 28, 2019 to inform me that they were preparing my doll for shipment and to verify if I wanted to change out my DT 18yrs feet with the 17yrs feet, or if I only wanted to have them packaged separately with the whole 18yrs body- I confirmed the latter. I have sent them the final payment on June 21, 2019 and they have confirmed that they have received the payment, as well as verified my new address- I am now waiting on shipment confirmation.

    23. Quick update and sorry for the double post:

Received the shipping notification on July 2, 2019 and received my order on July 8, 2019.

    24. I ordered Rian on an 18yr body, Estella, Soi, and a 13 and 17year old body for floating heads on July 7th. As well as Alina, Shea, Azura, Yujin and Roon heads. All in Oriental. They told me that my in stock items should be shipping in the next week. I'm beyond thrilled as I currently have only one very recently acquired BJD; an MSD 4.3 Soom and unfortunately I didn't bond with her at all. She's just too small for making props and clothes etc. These will be my first SD dolls and I'm beyond excited to get my hands on something, anything SD sized.:eusa_pray

    25. The Elf Body I ordered on May 31st in fresh skin for my fresh skin Seola7 head, changed status from "processing" to "completed", yesterday, Aug. 22. No email as yet from Jong Hak but last time he mailed late and the package already arrived a day later. That time it took about 5 days between the "completed" notice on his website to arriving here at my doorstep so, fingers crossed it'll make it for my BD on the 27th haha! :dance

    26. That's so exciting! Fingers crossed for you!

    27. HAAaaaaaa that Jonk Hak, he is a dear man! :D:D
He shipped the box express and it was JUST delivered!
Opening it tomorrow on my birthday and putting head and body together will be one of the highlights of my day!!

For your reference, time-line for waiting room folks:

DT elf body in fresh skin pre-order:
Ordered May 31 2019 -- went from Processing to Completed status on August 22 2019 -- Delivery in US on August 26 2019.

    28. That's so awesome! Happy Birthday! :-)

    29. I have just placed an order for an Elf body in Oriental (23rd September 2019) and seeing as the body is shown as in stock, I'm hoping the wait won't be too long as her Bimong Dandelion head is already here waiting for it!

I also have another body on order from them since 5th August 2019, this one is also an Elf body but this time in Oriental Copper, which is a pre-order body. This one is for my Black Cherry Dolls Xiao Yu head which isn't here yet either.

Both orders are shown as 'Processed'.

I can hardly wait to get my hands on one or both of these bodies!

Edited to add: there are just 14 numbers between my two orders. I wonder if this means that there really have only been 14 orders to Dollstown in the last 7 weeks? Good for me maybe, but not so great for Dollstown's business

    30. @dambuster01, I ordered an Elf body in Orientalskin on August 22, and at that time it was listed as "in stock", which is what motivated me to do so; a couple weeks before that, it was listed as "out of stock". So far, my order stands at "Processed", and nothing else. My order number is 2272.

The last time I ordered from Dollstown was in 2010, from their old site, and it must have been a fluke, as that one came in a month, and I'd also ordered it with a face-up and sanding, which they stopped doing in early 2011.

I did wonder how much Dollshe affects their schedule, and what's been customary for wait times in recent years. I try not to look too often at my order status, but... I'm curious as to what "in stock" really means, lol! :?

    31. Mine's July 7th, 2248. Some were in stock and others not. They said they were shipping my in stock items back around the middle of August but I haven't received anything yet. Hopefully it didn't get lost in transit, but given I never received a tracking number and my status is still "processing" I'm hoping they just didn't send it yet.

    32. Ah that's a bummer...I was like you @beamlette and thought that 'in stock' meant just that!!!! So it may be longer than I thought then.
My order number for the Oriental Copper body is 2269 and I ordered on 5th August and my oriental body is 2283 and ordered that one yesterday....
When I ordered the Oriental Copper it said that the body was a 'pre-order' and would take about 2 months....which is not for another couple of weeks. Both my orders are marked as 'processed'.
But I really thought my lovely Dandelion would have her Oriental body very soon....oh well!!!!
We certainly have to learn the art of patience in this hobby of ours!!! :D

Oh wow @bsistrunk that is a long wait for stock items but then again maybe they are waiting to send all the items together??
I would say that they'd definitely have sent you a tracking number so I'm sure your parcel won't be lost.
If I remember rightly, many years ago when I ordered my first Dollstown doll from them, they were one of the quickest companies out there...but I guess everything changes. :)

    33. Yes, everyone says they send a tracking number so I'm trying to not worry and just let them be and make their magic. :-) I ordered instock together with preorders so I'm in agreement with you that they are probably waiting. I've heard they use Dollshe for their casting so that's probably where the holdup is. I hope you get your elf soon! :-)

    34. I'm so thrilled and thankful! My dolls are finally shipping! So excited! Just in time.

    35. That is good news @bsistrunk !

    36. A day or so after I posted here, I got the shipping notice email from Dollstown, and my Elf body arrived today safe and sound; *whew*! Glad to hear that bsistrunk’s order is on its way, too :)

Interesting that DT no longer uses inner doll boxes, just careful bubble wrapping and lots of those sprocket-y foam packing peanuts! I’d heard about the no-doll-box thing, but was curious to see how that worked.

    37. About half of my dolls arrived yesterday! (These were the in stock items only I think.) I was so excited and spent so much time with them I forgot to post. LOL The rest, my preorders with the exception of the 13yr body, will be shipped next week. It's so nice to finally have some SD dolls in my hands! The dollstown bodies are so incredibly beautiful and I adore the elbow jointing that allows for realistic posing. I'm so thrilled with them. :-)

Mine was also in regular cardboard boxes, carefully bubble wrapped with the sprocket packing peanuts. The 7yr and elf bodies were enclosed in a second interior cardboard box. They taped all the doll boxes together into one larger package shape.

Horray for the arrival of your dolls too @beamlette :-)

    38. That's great to hear @beamlette, I'm glad your order has arrived safely.
In a way if that is the case with boxes, I'm fine with it as we've recently downsized and now I haven't the space to keep the boxes, but I feel guilty about getting rid of them too! :D

That's great news too @bsistrunk and also that the rest of your order will ship next week.
What I cannot understand though, is how they state on their website that 'in stock' items will ship in 1-2 weeks and yet they obviously didn't in your cases, or am I reading that wrong? I really was hoping that 1-2 weeks really meant just that, I hate floating heads :D but then that's my fault for not liking the body my Dandelion head came with! I just hope it won't be long till they do ship though because I'm having my orders sent to my son in the UK and hoping to get in before brexit.....!!!!

    39. Who knows about wait times... Dollshe is around a year now. At least Dollstown has better turn around times. I'm in for a wait on Arsene. I noticed that a lot of items on Dollstown's website changed to in stock in the last month or so... fingers crossed for you that you get them in time. :-) I also ordered Oriental skin tones. I think that Fresh is a lot more popular, so maybe my different skin tone and combining in stock with out of stock has to do with the time difference.

    40. You're right @bsistrunk, their wait times are so much better (I waited about 7 months for one of my recent dolls)....I think I'm just so excited to get the bodies for my heads that I'm getting really impatient. I've been in this hobby for 13+ years now, I really, really should be used to the waits!!!!! I also have ordered the less common colours, Oriental Copper and Oriental.
I got some patterns the other day for the Elf body so I am going to have to concentrate on making her some clothing to wear....that should keep my mind occupied during the wait!! :D

    41. I was feeling so stressed about it all the time. These were the first dolls I have ever ordered and as a newbie I had no idea that the wait wasn't going to actually be 2 weeks or so. I guess you learn by trial of fire in this hobby. I didn't even have Den of Angels then.

That's a great idea on the sewing. I should have ordered patterns. At least I could have started sewing things and modifying the patterns. I want to make my own clothing designs and I do a saran wrap and tape mummification process to get their patterns started. I started doing that with the felted animal characters that I sculpted and it worked out great. For me the sewing process is very much organic on the doll/animal kind of thing. It's like I need the doll in front of me to work creatively on it.

Oriental Copper sounds absolutely lovely! I'm so happy with the Oriental. It's got depth to it and is a lovely base for the face-ups I'm doing on them. :-) Please do post your clothing items. It would be fun to see them. :-)

    42. Wooohooo just got the email, my later order, the 'in stock' Elf body is shipping tomorrow! So Dollstown have been spot on for my order, their website says 1-2 weeks and it has actually been just 10 days in total! I'm really excited and impressed!
The body won't arrive with me for a little while yet as it is going via my son in the UK but hopefully he'll get it sent on to me really quickly once it arrives with him!

I guess I'm going to have to get my finger out with the sewing then!

    43. Wow! That's wonderful! I'm so happy for you!

    44. Thank you so much @bsistrunk :)

    45. I think processed just means that they have your order. I just tried checking on my order status but I get a message that I'm not allowed to access that info.

    46. Has anyone placed an order recently with Dollstown? I placed three separate orders at the beginning of this month- the first was for 4 heads and a 13yr body- some items were in stock and others were a pre-order so I assumed I would have to wait until everything was available and would be shipped all together which is fine with me. I then placed an order for the Deogi head which was in stock and the 5yr. body which was pre-order but was then sent an email that the body was in stock and I would get an invoice soon and the items would be sent. So despite several emails I haven't received an invoice nor do I get any replies to my emails. Is this normal or is something else going on?

    47. I have placed two orders recently, one on the 5th August for an Elf body that is a pre-order and not shipping yet, and a second order in September which was for an 'in stock' Elf body. The second order should be with me by the end of the week.
I had to change something on the pre-order and emailed Dollstown last week, I got a reply two days later and then another email in response to another question a couple of days ago, so they are answering emails.
It's weird that you're not getting replies to your emails. Are you hitting 'reply' to their emails to you or are you starting 'afresh' with their email address on their website? I'm sure it doesn't make any difference but you just never know.

    48. I did eventually get a reply late last week, three heads- Abella, Mari, Deogi and 5 yr. body are shipping this week apparently, the other 13yr. body came in but had some problem and will have to be recast. The other heads were a pre-order so don't know when I will get them. I guess I was lucky that some of what I ordered was in stock so although I placed 3 separate orders I asked that everything in stock be sent now.

    49. WEll I received shipment notifications this morning so keeping my fingers crossed.

    50. Great news @Fuzzyyface17 ! My Elf body arrived yesterday and it really is such a nice body and looks great with my Dandelion head by Bimong :)

      • x 1
    51. Ordered a 18yo boy bod for my flying head and hope the inevitable waiting will be more or less bearable.

    52. I'm still waiting for my Copper Oriental Elf body that I ordered on the 5th August, so it'll be four months next week. Anybody else still waiting for orders from August?

    53. Ordered an 18y girl body in oriental around 6th December during the sale period and I really do hope it will look great with my planned head. Both me and friend can't wait for it to arrive. :D

    54. I have now been waiting more than 5 months for my Copper Oriental body which I ordered on the 6th August. I did email Dollstown at the beginning of December and was told that it would hopefully ship soon, but nothing happening yet.

    55. just ordered a 13 yr body in oriental... i was real iffy about the price, but the shipping ended up being less than i expected so i just went a head and ordered it. gotta do it for that gorgeous resin colour ya know? here's hoping the head i got looks good on it. it should, measurements wise, but you never know...

i get the feeling this is going to be an excruciating wait.

    56. Dollshe casts for DT, so I imagine that is part of the problem with the wait. Hopefully you will get news of your body soon! I ordered a oriental elf body in November and was hoping to get it by next month, as previously when ordering "non stock" items from DT the wait time has only been about 2-3 months.

    57. I emailed Dollstown last week and the response was that they'd ask the casting company about my order and then they received a box of orders but unfortunately mine wasn't in there.
I also thought that I'd have my body by now because when I ordered it said 1-2 months, but in the case of delay it'd be about another 1-2 months. It's now more than 5 and no sign of it coming this month I guess....so we're looking at at least 6 months at this rate :(

      • x 1
    58. My Elf body has finally shipped from Dollstown. So it took 6 months and one day to ship, which is waaaay over their stated time of 1-2 months or even their possible 1-2 months extra. But hey ho, waiting is something we get used to in the BJD world and the time went quite fast!!! :/ Now the last bit of the wait, the time it will take to get from S.Korea to me in sunny Spain!

      • x 2
    59. oh my, hoping the waiting is worthy, please keep us updated.
I was thinking about selling one of my dollstown girls but now I am not sure, if I want to order another one in the future ohhhh.

    60. Congratulations! I did hear from someone else that they waited about 6 months for their copper oriental elf body too. Hopefully you're enjoying your complete (?) doll!!
