@Alice80 I love your Ariadne (Arin) on the elfbody too, it is perfect combination. And how exciting that you are going to get Darla on the DT5 body too *yippee*

 

I just wanted a five year body for some swapping her, three kids will have to be my limit as I just don't have the space considering I will have five guys over 65cm tall plus the eleven other dolls here. So unless daughter in law takes the one big guy can't think of adding a fourth kid.

 

@animemom: Marie I never can remember just how many of the DT mini dolls you actually have at home and how many are future plans.
Could you remind me please.....thanks.


And space! That is always a bother for me...................and I ran out of it about 10 years ago too! LOL!
I still reckon I could make room for another DT mini though.

I hear ya! But since I soared past 50 bjds, I have lost all sense of proportion and they just keep coming. My husband swears they order themselves...

 

I didn't have any minis from Dollstown for a couple of years, then I bought the Maru head, bought an old Elf body I had before, an Irrealdoll Ringo head and had to then buy a 7 year girl body. Maru went on 7 year body and Ringo got the Elf body. Bingo I went from no Dollstown to two, then bought a third DT second hand that would be my Daisy Boy on the 15 year boy body. Now we have three. On order from Dollstown is a elf body for a head from Russia, as well as Deogi head and her body. A returning Soyu on the Elf body, and I also have a head from Supia that will go on a 17 year boy body, as well as Arin Head needs a body. Oh and was able to get a Bandi head so have to order her a body so my first 13 year girl in over two years I think. So far planned is nine Dollstown either full DT or hybrids, but all DT bodies. On top of that is two from Fifth Motif, one from Dollshe, one large Bishonen House guy, and then we have Eddie and Zoey. Oh and a pet Fox for them. So if I could get rid of some of granddaughter's toys from my doll room would for sure have room for one more kid.

My husband doesn't mind how many dolls I get as long as pay for them. We had horses for several years, and they need get care, carrier appointments, as well as they eat and keep you close to home. Dolls can stay put, they can come on trips; limit for me is two on a trip. They also don't need to eat, a couple of outfits is good, and they break something it can be fixed or hopefully replaced. Plus they make me very happy.

@Alice80 good luck in getting the funds together in time for the body going on sale.....I suppose you could wait about the head.

@animemom thank you for the update. What head would you put on the DT5 body?

 

Would give it to Deogi so she can be a little sister to my Maru boy, then the floating Arin Head would get her body and he'd get it modded like Kaito's. Then two MSD boys and one girl.

 

I like how the sculpts can be used as either girls or boys depending on the face-up.

Well!
Turn and turn around since I saw the latest photos of Dala on Flickr..............I very much doubt I will be getting this sculpt now.


And why?
Because I keep seeing a boy! Dala 5yr head
And I would like a girl..........................so until I see this sculpt as a girl I can't see me getting Dala just yet.

 

Yes, they really did help.......they underlined that it was a boy I was looking at. I still really love the sculpt but just at this moment I can't get 'boy' out of my head.

 

@Jane could be the make up. Dollstown generally doesn't do more then one look on the kids, while the older sculpts get two looks. I would say since they have their anniversary sale in March where they take 15% off dolls, wait and see if anyone posts their Dala on Flickr and decide then if you can see her as a girl. I do hope so as I know if I decided to get one my Momiji would love a little sister like Kaito has. Fingers crossed.

 

I see her as Robin - 5yo. Not sure if male or female at this point as the name can go both ways.

And amazingly enough it was the 'Arin episode' that came back to my mind so clearly as I looked at each photo on Flickr. I was just seeing a boy!
And how many years have you had Arin now?
It really was like a blast from the past

 

I guessed it was about 10 years too as I know I was still working when you were deciding if he was a boy or a girl.

What a fabulous parcel arrival that must have been too

 

I have always seen a boy with Arin and with Sia. Maru is a boy here, but I am sure others see girl more strongly.

 

If I remember correctly........I think Sia was originally sculpted to be the male counter-partner to the female Seola.

But the face-up makes individual dolls into either male and female.....and that is the best part of these dolls isn't it.
We can all have what we as an individual see.

Get ordering those DT5 bodies if you want one because if the rumours are correct (and the rumours are that DT are working on a new DT6 body) then the 5 year body might not be there for much longer!!!
Great that you can get them a sale price too.

@animemom: good luck in getting the funds together. What colour did you decide on getting?

@Teddy: did you manage to order, or you still figuring out funding too? A 20% discount is a good sale price isn't it.

And I am now on the ordering page...Deogi has beaten out Dala sadly...so I won't get the 20% off. But once I looked at the 2 of them on the same page, Deogi won out - she's been on my wishlist for so long and I can get her painted, that it's a no brainer of which to choose...

 

You would still get the 20% off the body if you wanted a DT5 doll............and then you could spread the cost by ordering first one and then the other as funds allow.

Wow, 7? Actually I was counting my DT gang and I have more than I thought...it's the elf bodies that I forget about as well as the fact that they aren't all in the same grouping...

I heard back from my enquiry to Dollstown, and he says he thinks that the sale should continue for a month or two...so that takes the urgency out of it for me, but then when I was on the site looking at things, I noticed they do layaway, so you can pay 20% to start the casting process...

That's me sorted then!

Deogi on the DT5 with the company faceup...perfect!

 

I ordered Dala. Head only as good sense won out. She has already shipped so if the match to the old body is bad I should still be able to get one.
Bad sense keeps thinking about twins—a boy and a girl.

I really don’t. I think she really could go either way. Still a Robin though.

So it looks like the sale of the 5 body is ending today. I made a layaway order for Deogi on the 5 with a faceup after debating long and hard...but since she's been on my wishlist so long, I thought I had to do it. I think I've got a couple of months to save up for the balance, although it did say both body and head were in stock so I don't know..? Anyone have experience of this?

@Alice80 if you put your doll on layaway, it won't be shipped until after you have paid your balance. Anyone who ordered and paid in full would be sent the doll from in stock supply.

Hi all! I have a question please. Since I haven't ordered from Dollstown site in a few years, I was hoping that someone would be able to tell me at which point in the checkout process does the option for layaway come up. Is it after the 'place order' page. I would appreciate any help. I am thinking of taking advantage of the sale going on.

 

It's actually on the sales page. Once you select the skin tone, the second drop down box comes active and it's for either pay in full or 20%. Once you select the 20% the price drops down to the amount of the first payment. Then you just checkout as normal.

It does say that you're supposed to get an email to confirm the payment, but I haven't had that, even though my order says Processing if I log in. So I guess it's ok..?

does anyone know if Dollstown will ever offer the Honey resins again?

I needed to order a peach fresh honey resin DT7 body for my old 'Oriental French resin' Narindolls Dandelion to use... the 1st version Dandelion head is too small for the elf body but looks great on the 7. She's been using my Seola's Oriental Pure body for about a year, but it's too pale an too opaque to really match. I was thinking about buying the right body for her soon, but I noticed the Honey colors are gone from the menus. Have I missed my chance completely? :c

 

Sorry but if you want to have them cast a body in a resin they no longer offer you will need to ask them. I have found them great about certain requests. Keep in mind this could take a few months at least four. But if they can squeeze one in while Dollshe gets some done who knows.
