I love that photo of them Teddy......and I love how each doll is dressed perfectly to suit their character too. And here is a photo of Edith and Arin together in the hotel grounds
Thanks Sharon. I love the pictures Jane gets of Arin and Edith when we get them together. They don't see each other often but they work so well together whenever it happens. Teddy
Bumping a really quiet thread. Is there any news? New dolls, new clothes, new plans????? I have started a party storyline with my girls
Nothing much dolly related happening here, Jane, but it's good to see your girls at a party in full-swing. I'm still trying to sort out a viable alternative to Photobucket, so I'm not even taking many pictures at the moment. Teddy
Thank you Teresa and Teddy it was fun making this photo work. I have wanted to do something like this for years. Same here Teddy! I have got to totally rebuild my CH website *sigh* but that will be an on-going project for the darker evenings later in the year. I am trying 'Postimage' at the moment for photos as that allows 3rd party hosting even with it's free account. It was so easy to make an account too. I don't want to use Flickr as I use Flickr for more than just random photo hosting, but a Flickr page might work for you.
Ugh! Bad luck with the CH page, Jane. Thanks for the tip about Postmage too. I mighrt being one of the DT kids in to work with me tomorrow - but I probably won't be shareing pictures. Teddy
Does anyone have a Maru head please? I am seriously considering getting one but I would like to see owner photos of her first Thanks everyone
I have Maru - she is on the elf body currently - I haven't completely decided if she will be a 7 yo or elf New Girls by Martha David, on Flickr I'm still working on her look. She's copper oriental.
Thank you so much Martha! I hoped you would have one.....gosh I really like her. If it isn't too much trouble could you take a photo of her with some of your other little girls so that I can get an idea of the size of her head. But only when you have time. I really like the face-up you have given to your Maru
Thnak you so much again......I have just been having a look on your photostream. How would you say her head size compares to a Deogi and a Ganga?
She is one of his smaller heads listed as 7.5 inches compared to Ganga and Deogi (8 inches). That is why she is on the elf body since younger children have proportionally bigger heads than older children and Shea ended up with a younger looking face up. Next to her is Shea (8 inch) on the 7 yo body and then Amy (7.9 inch) on the 5 yo body
Deogi is incorrectly listed on the site.....she is a smaller head too. I have an email from them confirming that somewhere. Maru was originally listed as an 8 inch head too but they changed that one after I queried that too. I am so pleased to have seen your Maru......I really like her but I would like her to work on the DT7 body. And I think she could after having looked at her on the DT Flickr page Freshskin is out of stock at the moment though it seems. I tried to buy one just now but the dreaded red 'out-of-stock' comes up even though the drop down menu says 'in stock' *boo hoo*
They're wonderful, Xiaoli!! Such beautifully attired young ladies. (Love the name Merry Meg Doll, too.)
Oh how kind of you Martha.....thank you so much ((hugs)) xxx And thank you Ann. It is such fun when I can take photos of Teddy's Arin with my Edith.......it doubles the fun!
And now, thanks to you, Arin has a trike like Edith's, so they could go for rides together too. Teddy
I can't wait to take a photo of them both riding their trikes now.........do you have Arin's trike at home now, or is it still waiting for collection?
It came home to me two weekends ago via Fannish Mongol Post. I must get some pictures of him on it to share - but I haven't done a thing about the Photobucket situation yet. Teddy
Do try a free account at Postimage while you do more research.......even if you don't keep it in the long run, it will help you over this period where you have no working photo-host. And .......Fannish Mongol Post???? That a a new one on me!
In this case it was just a one-step process - a friend in Lincolnshire collected thetrike form the seller and passed it on to me when we were both at another frined's barbecue party. But I have had dolls (and other things) come to me via four or five people who passed the doll on from one person to another at various science fiction conventions and other fannish events, until it gets to someone who will be seeing me at an event or gathering. Elfie came to me from teh far side of America via three people, two science fiction conventions, and a historical reenactment event. Luckily, Winnie isn't demanding anything that's difficut to get hold of. She's happy with her dog, so at least one of my DollsTown mini's is easy to satisfy... {grin!} Teddy
Her is a picture of Maru on the 7 yo body. There are 2 more on flickr - just shot with my iPhone but I think she looks good on both bodies. I'm still not sure which she will end up on. Maru on 7 yo body by Martha David, on Flickr
Thank you so much Martha.....I really appreciate this. She looks really good on both bodies. So now I know she will work perfectly on the DT7 body if I decide to get her. Thank you again I also really like her wig.....did you make it?
Thanks for your complements on the dress - It is one of my creations. I used to make them full size but the girl is now 14 so no more smocked dresses for her. Instead the dolls get spoiled. I did not make the wig - I found it on Etsy. I'm trying to learn wigging.
Oh good lord! I pop into this thread just to have a browse round...then spot several things that make me twitch for another Dollstown mini...I never did get my Deogi on the 5yr or Maru... Your Maru head on the 7 body looks gorgeous, Xiaoli! I'd forgotten how much I liked the Maru head when it was first released but, like Jane, the size was an issue...but she looks fab on either body...and what skin colour is she there, please? Is it oriental or something darker? I can't quite tell...my girls are all freshskin which has been my absolute favourite skin colour from DT... Alicex
I fancy getting a doll in copper oriental one day too but I have a headless freshskin body to sort out first!
Seola awaits her big girl body. A pale elf body is on order, hurray! DSC_0170-copy by Tanja vanprooijen, on Flickr
A minifee active line. I had her cast as a very young child. I'll miss the posability of that body I am thinking, I'll get that body a different head eventually I hope the Elf Body is a decent poser, and I think the elf body scale will look better next to my Seola13 on the 18 yr- body. Hopefully they make a good set of little and big sister!
@tanjalalie I hope all your plans work out well. If you wire the DT body with aluminium armature wire, I don't think you will miss the posabilty if the Minifee body so much.
Thank you Jane! I had to go and google aluminum armature wire right away of course. what gauge would be suitable for the elf body in your opinion?
@tanjalalie .....it is a long time since I wired a DT doll and when I do it is using wire I bought in years ago. I think I use 3.25mm for the DT7 girls but I have a feeling that Teddy used 4.5mm for his DT7 Arin and he poses like a dream! So I would guess 4.5mm for the larger body
It's been so long since I bought it that I can't remember either - but 4.5 sounds about right - It's the same I used for Peddy (with the Elf body) and Nancy (with the DT13 body). I used smaller guage for the 5 and 7 year bodies ast first, but that didn't last long - it quickly snapped at the knee and elbow joints so I swapped it out for the igher gauage armature wire. Teddy
@Tatty....I just adore your gorgeous little Deogi. She is so sweet.....did you give her this delicate face-up?
Merry Christmas from Madame Maus' School for Girls Madame Maus's School for (Exceptional) Girls by Martha David, on Flickr
And a Merry Christmas to you and all your girls too Martha! And oh my goodness!!! This is one of the best group photo of dolls that I think I have seen *gasp* And I don't think I have grasped until now just how many DT dolls you actually have! Wow! Wow! Wow! Are they all DT dolls bar one? And I love their school uniforms.....you have been just so busy!
I came up with the idea November 2016 - It took a year to create the uniforms and create them. They are all dollstown except for the middle elf size - she is a bimong dandelion head on an elf body. My little girls all have their own bodies - the older girls and elf size have to share due to funds and space. Hope all are having a Merry Christmas!
I am not surprised that it took you over a year to pull this together. And I had a feeling the girl at the back was a Dandelion head. If it is not too much trouble, please could you list the sculpts of the little girls in the first 2 rows. I would love to know it I have got them right!
Sure. Row 1: Momo, Jea, Deogi, Amy, Ganga, Momo, Jea, Ganga. Row 2: Mari, mini Elysia, Alina, Shea, Abella, Sia, Mari, Seola, Bori Row 3: Biela, Amy, Maru, Arin, Dandelion, Arin, Hannah, Soi, Azura My goal is more pictures of their adventures since this is the school for exceptional girls.
Thank you so much Martha......I got most right but not all! LOL! And Ia m so looking forward to your photos of them next year. Adventures are always the best of fun
@Xiaoli your Madame Mau's School for Girls is awesome! I love the uniforms and I can certainly appreciate all the love and work that went into creating them! I thought about making school uniforms for my 2 girls and a thought was as far as I got! I find it interesting that your Dandelion head was your single choice among the Dollstown girls. I am awaiting a delivery of my 40cm Narae. I wanted to order the limited 6.5" Dandelion head as well but it was not in my budget! I will have to see her proportions to determine whether she will fit in with my DT girls. She is the new body and I have no idea how she will fit in, or whether she will simply be on her own.
