Dollstown 17 and 18 year boys and girls - Part 2

Hi! Does anyone already received a new DT17 boy body?

 

@xatshe - i got one in November did you need a measurement or certain picture?

@Demiurgo - the 18yr old is very similar fitting to my LLT ballerino, and Ringdoll RGM-3. i think you would want to look at the "uncle" sizes (70cm+) carefully for measurements to match, or choose items that list as fitting LLT.
5th Motif body is slightly larger, but some types of clothing can likely be shared.

i don't have my Dollshe Mystic body yet, but that looks to be very similar as well.

 

Oh, congrats!! I wonder does measurements listed on site are actual ones and also I'm looking some compare with other bodies with similar size i have a head with a specific size, so i'm trying to figure out, will DT new 17 fit or not

what size is the head you want to use, i might have something similar?
about bodies, i can't get to everything right now (packed up), but let me know what you wanted to see, maybe i can help since i still have a few things out.

 

@Grimalkin Thanks! On taobao is so difficult to find something. Either it's Eid or ID75 or popo68. The closest would be SSDF or Loongsoul73, but I will keep my eyes open to see if something regarding LLT or RD comes up!

 

Thanks for your answers! ah, i have a super rare head, i doubt that it would be possible to check it, it's HZBjd - Guhu. It's 22 size, yet the thing is it has not very big face features and the face itself not so big and it creates some difficulties. Currently i use for it TD 68 body, it fits him well, but doesn't reflect the body shape of the character
I tried this head on Dikadoll 72 which has similar sizes and with some mods of the neck it's acceptable, so i do hope it will fit to new DT after mods too. My understanding that Guhu head should be not far from an average Ringdoll 70 cm head. From what i saw, they are has similar face structure like small head, they are not super realistic in general etc so if you have any of 70 Ringdoll head, it would be awesome to see it ^^


May i also ask you about hands for this body as well? what size of jointed hands might fit for the body? (and i also have no idea which company creates jointed hands with colors similar to DT/dollshe, for example in pale )

 

@xatshe - Below, the first number is from the DT website, second number is what I measured. My tape is about 1.6cm wide, so this may account for some discrepancies, than a narrower tape. I also may not have measured in exactly the same spot as the maker, but I tried to use the normal places they show on most websites of dolls. Everything seems really close to me, so the differences are likely just tape placement/different tape measure.

Hand length (not given on website) ~ 7 cm
The hands are pretty small, I’ll have to see if I can get to the box, but I’m thinking maybe Universe Doll jointed hands would work. maybe Legend Doll/DFA or DFH for 65cm dolls, not "uncle" 70+ sizes
Pale for DT = Pale for Dollshe, which is pretty much paper white these days.

About the head, I found a pic of yours, and I wonder if maybe my DZ Apsara is similar since he is also 22cm and stylized features. My only Ringdoll head with me right now is a Senkai who has an abnormally tiny noggin at 19cm so he really looks weird on the RGM3 he was sold on even. If I can get to Apsara’s box, I will try him for you to see. My other 22’s are realistic, but happy to try them too. if i'm able to get any of the other parts out, I will also try measuring again with a metal ruler across the tape, and more bird's eye view.

wow, i didn't know that Ringdoll has such heads, since i saw Red King, Lucifer and some other heads and they were about the same size and style with my head! i've checked Apsara, it really looks very promising, so i'll be super happy you will find time to check this head for me

 

@xatshe i was able to get Apsara out! and a box with some hands, tho i'm not sure the universe doll ones are in it, i need to check the little bubble wrap bundles LOL. i think i have 3 different requests about this body, so i'm going to try to do all the pics at once, but it may take me a few days to get them done and up where i can link them

 

no need to rush, i definitely can wait whenever you'll have time for it

Wondering if anyone can answer this for me. I am in talks to buy a Dollstown Vision 17 year body for my dollshe Amanda. The body looks quite a bit lighter then my oriental head. The body is oriental as well. Will they match? Any info would be awesome before I put money down; thanks!!

 

@Starry City - Dollshe and Dollstown used to use the same resin. I know that Dollshe changed their colors a little some time ago (I believe Copper Oriental, Oriental, and Fresh became pinker and possibly slightly darker). So I think it would depend on when your head and the body were cast.

It appears that the change occurred in 2019 (the page linked below has some comparison photos) so if the head and body were cast before then, maybe they should still match, even though the body might look lighter in photos.

Both the head and body are second hand, so I'd have to ask. If I had to guess, the head is very pink so the newer resin. Meaning they won't exactly match. I'll probably have to ask my artist to do some resin matching. Thanks for your help

 

@Starry City - You're welcome! I'm sorry the resin tones were changed (I have some old Fresh samples and really like the color) but at least it should eventually mellow into a less pink option.

 

I have an 18yr girl body arriving tomorrow, and I'm trying to find out any more information on shoes/clothing that fits these girls. So far I've heard Dollmore Model shoes and some of the Luts Senior Delf shoes will fit, but I couldn't find anything about clothing options. I make my own most of the time, but I was wondering if anyone had any luck with finding things that happened to fit.

I just saw in the Dollshe discussion thread that Dollstown is using a different casting service now. This info came from someone who ordered from Dollstown and they mentioned it, so not an official announcement or anything.

 

It would be nice if they confirmed it officially. And whether it would affect the resin colours.

I usually go for stock or marketplace items whenever I want something from them because of the Dollshe casting worry but them changing caster would be amazing.

 

Oh wow I so glad I came here to take a look of what people are saying. My friend was thinking of ordering DT17 girl. What does it mean “in stock”? Does it mean it’s already ready and will be shipped and there is no need to waiting for it?

 

It does .... well it did when I last bought new/direct from DT

Btw new bodies are being sculpted which look really nice (one has joints like the old 15 yo boy which I love)

 

@Onkani - I've seen other collectors who have bought from Dollstown recently say they are no longer using Dollshe's casting services. On the website some of the IN STOCK dolls have (Out of Stock) written in brackets after that when you look at different resin colours, which is really confusing, but in theory they should send out your IN STOCK DT17 girl straight away as long as you are buying without blushing or face-up.... obviously then there would be a delay for that work to be done.

 

For in-stock dolls, we need the time 1 days for sanding the gate. and after then we can wrapping the doll.
But we need 1~2 weeks for it when we have a lot of orders. we can sanding mostly the dolls in 1 weeks.
So for instock dolls, I can ship it in 1~2 weeks now.

 

Dollshe craft casting center stoped meanwhile. but I paid directly the wage to staff for casting DT dolls.
I bought the casting machine from Dollshe craft. and I learn the casting know-how, and received the color data.
And I will open the Dollstown casting center in January. I will cast myself DT dolls.
Color will be same with Dollshe craft dolls.

Since you purchased the machine from Dollshe how is he going to cast his dolls now? Does he have another machine? Will Dollstown cast his dolls now? This doesn't seem like good news for those of us that have been waiting for our dolls.

 

I bought one casting machine. Dollshe has still two machine. He can cast his dolls. Don't worry.

@V chan - presumably the cash injection from AJH buying one of the machines will also help Dollshe work toward resolving his issues, so all round win! Fingers crossed Dollshe can catch up with orders and save his business too.

 

I don't sure about tan and evony skin now. I can know about that after I cast first doll. That skin is available to cast first from the new silicon mold.
