I wasn't sure what colour she was.........I love orientalskin and have more DT dolls in that colour resin than any other.
Thank you so much! She's getting a boyfriend. I ordered a LittleRebel Seven head and am thinking about putting it on a DT 15 yo boy body. I'm just waiting for it to arrive so I can see the resin first. Wiske, your Siuan is so pretty. She has a quietness about her that is lovely.
I use Volks 17 body. it looks better than his own 15yr body, and proportions are pretty good! I recommend it.
I received my little rebel heAd but it's way to small for my Ariel. She'll have to wait on a boyfriend. In the meantime she can have a secret crush on Hue!
Well, I can sort of join this thread, but not really. I just put a Dollstown 13yo hybrid on layaway. So I'll be stalking the thread for clothing and shoe info and inspiration.
I'm not sure this is the right place to ask; but how would a Dollstown 13 yrs girl fare standing next to a 69 cm boy? Would the 10cm difference have a big impact? What if they were to be brother and sister? I'm trying to make a twin boy and girl, but still hesitating between the 13 yrs and 18 yrs girl. Any info is really appreciated!
Catherine is ready for spring. I am so sad that I accidentally scratched her eye makeup when I was fixing her hair. Any suggestions please? IMG_5357 by terridoll2, on Flickr[/IMG]
I am sorry Dayme I can't help as I don't have any tall lads Opal has your doll arrived yet? And that is a lovely photo of Catherine with the crocus Theresa But I am sorry about the scratch *sigh* I would contact the face-up artist (Sally wasn't it?) and ask her what can be done.
Gosh this thread had dropped so far back...I think it was on page 4!!!! So in the interests of just adding something to keep the thread alive and kicking I ask a question......what do you all think of the new DT13 body that DT are making at the moment? https://www.flickr.com/photos/dollstowngallery/17528252375/in/dateposted/
I think she will be slightly slimmer and taller Theresa from what I can gather, but I agree not a huge difference (except for those elbows!)
I was hoping they would get the legs stabilized and it does look like it is standing solid. I like the way double jointed elbows look so I probably better try and start saving up since my DT 'problem' seems to be flaring up again
I'm really excited about the 17 year female body and its make equivalent. They will be perfect for some dolls I need to shell!
allurose: Yes it will be interesting to see that DT17 body.....it is significantly taller than the DT13 one isn't it? bajib: Happy saving to feed your DT 'problem'! LOL! I do like this new DT13 body but I am not a fan of these elbows (at all) I much prefer the clean lines of a single joint. And I found I still needed to wire the arms of my DT15 male body with elbow joints like this, so I really really can't see the point of them! *grump* I do like the overall look of this body though and I hope to add one to my collection one day.
If you have any face-up supplies (pastels, Mr. Super Clear) and you do face-ups, you can easily fix the scratch by just adding some more color to the eye shadow, may have to add more on both sides to make it even then add some more light coats of MSC over the entire face which should not change the look of your original face-up much. The person that did your face-up did a lovely job and may be willing to fix the eye make-up for you for a minimal charge if you cannot do it yourself. Good luck! Your girl is lovely!
Question for the people who own the DT15 old boy body: is the body able to sit without leaning back too far? It's really odd, because I have a boy on this body, and it has all the chest joints, so technically he should be able to sit at least 90 degrees. However, I think his huge thighs might be propping him up too far in the front, because he can't really sit without leaning back. :/
My old 15 boy sits at 90deg if you slouch his chest joint forward, and it's easier if he's got a chair back to lean against.
My lad is on the old DT15 body (from when it was cast by DT themselves) and he can sit at 90 degrees with no issues whatsoever Could your lad just be strung too tight? And the old DT15 does have huge thighs, but I only complain about them because of difficulty of getting trousers to fit!
What does everyone think of the 13Y Remi head please? I am thinking that it's different and very nice. Does it look more like a boy? I have a body that may need a head and maybe Remi will work.
I really like the look of the head sculpt Theresa ....there seems to be a hint of a smile on her too. I can't wait to see her with a face-up. And I hadn't thought boy before, but I see now that it easily could be.
I would really like to see her with faceup too Jane. She would be a girl for me. I have another Co SD head, but I really would like a DT head for her body instead. Would fit so much better with my 'family'.
Thank you, I just tried shifting his upper torso more forward and he sits a lot better with his weight distributed to the front now. I don't know why I didn't think of that!
Does anyone own the old and new/current 15 yr boy bodies? Are they the same height/overall size? Are the necks the same width?
I own both versions of the DT15 male body The newer body has a slightly slimmer neck ....it is 9.8 cm on the old body and 9.2 cm on the new body. It may seem a small difference on paper but in real life that half cm makes a big difference. Overall the newer body is slightly slimmer and very slightly shorter, but it is much much easier to find clothes to fit it......especially trousers and jeans as it doesn't have the thunder thighs of the older body. I like both versions of the DT15 male body but they are significantly different in real life to me I see the older version as more of a man's body and the newer version as more a youth's body.....but that is entirely a personal opinion
This is great, thank you so much! I have the old body (which I love to death) and was thinking of getting the new body for a different head, and I was hoping for slimmer, so that's fabulous.
I think Remi looks lovely, definitely a girl for me... just not sure about that deep indent in the bottom lip, could cause a few issues when doing face-ups, but will have to wait and see, we need more photos really. I can't see much difference between the new and old 13 girl body, except her bum looks more girly on the old body... the new one looks like she might be clenching! Or is that just the lighting in those pics on flickr?
That is just what I wouldn't notice and why I know I have to always wait to see owner photos. I am just going to have another look at the head now and see this indent in the lower lip that I had not noticed before! EDIT: Oh yes! It is quite a big indent! Thank you for pointing it out!
Jane, I've wondered if it will be smoothed out a bit more when the finishing is done, might just be on the original before they do the mould. I wish they would stop making amazingly beautiful new body sculpts though, I simply have no money for dolls anymore and just basically want everything I see from Dollstown... so UNFAIR!!!
Thank you from me too for pointing out the indent in the lower lip vonbonbon. I would really like to see her with a faceup, but I am still pretty sure that I will get her! I am also going back for another look at her face. Did not notice the indent either. I have always loves the 13Y body (and all the DT bodies for that matter). I would definitely buy the new one if I was in the market for one.
Ok, I'm still trying to decide if I need to buy a girl or boy body for a head I have - now I'm looking at the (long discontinued) 15yr girl body....I've looked around and I must have missed it - is there a comparison pic somewhere with the 13 and 15 yr girls and possibly the 15yr boy? I was literally about to hit the buy button, but I'm so indecisive about this....
There are some good comparison threads in Photo Reference, and I believe An Jong Hak posted all of the old comparisons on his Flickr.
Is that DTs flickr or a different one? I was on Dollstown's account and they seem to have gotten rid of all their discontinued body photos - or I somehow missed them, but the oldest I could find was 18yr. I've been looking through Photo Refs and still haven't found anything, I came up with one photo of the old 15yr boy and the 15yr girl....but I don't remember if I found it on google or flickr now D: EDIT: Took a chance and went with the 15yr girl! Hope it works!
I have recently bought a Volks SD13 on the secondary market, my first SD, and am loving the size. I adore some of the Dollstown 13 dolls that i have seen and have a wonderful Connie Lowe outfit winging its way to the U.K that would fit one perfectly . Are the Dollstown 13 girls good posers? I had heard that they can be kicky from someone, but wondered if this was true?
I had to dig deep to find this thread @_@ I was wondering what dollstown 13y girl owners did to their girls for them to wear heels? Dollstown doesn't seem to have a heel feet part (unless I'm mistaken). Do you usually swap feet with another company?
My girls on the DT13 bodies wear Musedoll heeled shoes and they fit like a dream My girls can stand unsupported in them too. We are not permitted to add more than one photo to a reply in the discussion threads so you will need to click on the links to see more photos......... Bindi Days Darcy Darcy I also use some rush wedge heeled sandals from Dollmore....they are good too. I have them in both the dark and light colourway options... On holiday Dolly Shelf Sunday: nineteen I hope this helps
Thank you so much Jane! Your pictures were so helpful~ are your girls DT fresh skin to match with Musedoll resin?
I am so glad it was useful and I did not switch the feet at all.........the Musedoll and Dollmore shoes fit the dolls with their original DT feet!
So unexpected :O and also a relief! I was imagining having to put Luts Delf heel feet parts or the likes on the body to be able to wear heels I'm really grateful for the info & pictures~ your dolls are super cute by the way ^^
Thank you! And good luck to you finding Musedoll shoes now. I'll bet the more 'gentle' high-heeled shoes from other companies will fit too, it is just that I don't have shoes from them. Let's hope somebody else will know about Dollheart shoes and Volks shoes etc *fingers crossed*
Hey everyone! I have a Volks DWC03 head that I want to put on the DT 15yrs body. Is oriental the skin color that matches volks?
Thank you for sharing! I love how the shoes fit! Musedoll shoes were so beautiful, now there is nothing on their website in shoes section. I remember those glitter pink shoes, why didn't I buy them then, oh! I've got my new doll Lucille and I have already made her a makeup. I should sew her something nice and then I will be able to show her. This is the first time in my life when I did a faceup the next day I received the head. I feel she's very special for me, pure doll love
Hi everybody! I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a Merry Doll Round head on a Dollstown 13-year-old body and I have a lot of trouble getting her to stand on her own. I tried restringing her but it didn't work. Her knees tend to bend all the time and she doesn't hold the straight leg position. Is this a recurring problem with this body? Do you know if sueding would fix this? Thank you so much in advance!
I wired and glue sueded my DT 13 girls, and that cured the dreaded DT swivel leg for me. I hope it works for you too.
I use a long 'U' shaped length of plastic coated aluminium wire......the wire needs to be long enough to go in at her lower torso and extend beyond each knee. I then *pop* the doll at the lower torso joint and thread the ends of the wire down each leg. Does this make sense? How are you wiring your doll?
I didn't thread it through the hip and I used pipecleaners, so maybe that was the problem. I will try it your way and let you know how it goes
