I am beside myself with joy as I am finally getting my big DT girl! (well, her body anyway). Today I bought the 13Y body in oriental skin from a lovely member. Now to finish saving for my Elysia head and I will be in DT heaven. (As if I'm not already) And can contribute in this thread. Finally.
theresa , looking forward to seeing her when she is all together … Don’t you love it when it all works out
Oh Theresa I am so pleased for you!!! Good luck with the saving for the head now!!! And Virginia I have sent you a FM
Little help …. these are the first pictures I got of my Amy at the spa .. what I need to know is do you think she needs Eyelashes ? … OH and OMG I just love her …. I love this Picture … http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc129/marypev62/DTAmy-3_zps32624973.jpg
Oooh she is magnificent. Is that Sally Chandler's work? My personal preference is yes for eyelashes, however, if you love her she is beautiful just like this. What an incredible sculpt Amy is. Wow.
Dollstown Amy by Lilygami, on Flickr Peppa, here is a Lilygami faceup with eyelashes. Either way she's super!
Danadollz , thanks so much for the photo , I like her with the eye lashes , but I love the look she has with out them .. so l think I will leave her with out …
She is just divine! I love her without the lashes...really has that "les Mis" look that is so cool. Congrats on your wonderful new girl! But a fair warning, one DT is not enough :-)
I know that I personally always prefer my dolls with applied eyelashes but she is your doll Mary and you have her how you love her best, and she is beautiful Huge congratulations
The great thing about BJDs is that you can enjoy them with one look for a while and then change them if you get bored. It is what draws me to them!
Hi everybody! I haven't posted here in a while but I just got my shipping notice for my 15 year old boy body, and I'm so excited!! I couldn't decide on a head, and you all might think that I'm crazy but I'm going with an Amy head for now. Can't wait to have my first SD sized boy!!
thanks everyone , Now I can’t wait to get her home … Penny you don’t have to tell me, she so far is 1 of 5 and 1 head …
Oh *yippee* I am so excited to see him. Have you seen the new male head in the making everyone? http://www.flickr.com/photos/dollstowngallery/ He/she has very much smaller eyes than the older sculpts but I like the look of this new head very much. I can't wait to see a face-up on it.
Theresa, congratulations on getting the 13 yr. body. How exciting. I just received my Amy from the spa and she's so beautiful. And finally I got an ensemble finished for Lucille. Amazing how beautiful they are all dressed! It was a long time coming. I am so enamored with the DT sculpts.
I forgot to say, I love Lillygami's work and the two shown are wonderful. She looks great without the lashes and with. I guess it might depend on how young you want her to look.
Thanks, Jane, I can't wait to get him! I've seen the new head, but I'd like to see it with a faceup to have a better sense of it.
I think this new sculpt is less androgynous than the Soi head sculpt…….to me I only see male at the moment. What does everyone else see?
After taking a look at the new boy head, my first thought was Soi also, but he does seem to have a more masculine look. I too would like to see him with a faceup.
I can't wait to see him painted too..........and I notice that I call this head 'he' even when I am writing about it. It will be interesting to see If I keep to that view later this year! I also notice that the back of the head (I can't call it a head cap really because of where it is) will need strong magnets to keep it in place!
Happy news! I ordered my Elysia head from DT. I am wild with anticipation and all ready for her. Eyes, wig, clothes and Connie Lowe shoes that I dyed using Connie's instructions. 006 by terridoll2, on Flickr[/IMG]
I am excited about the new boy sculpt, too! I am waiting for the one that speaks to me. (literally...lol) Pretty pink shade, Theresa!
That is brilliant news Theresa she will be home really soon now!*yippee* Do you have a face-up artist ready to paint her yet? I am so excited for you!!! And I love the colour of her boots too! Lucky girl to be coming home to such a lovely outfit in fact!
Theresa, those shoes are so pretty, and congratulations on the imminent arrival of your Elysia! She is one of my favorite sculps, and on my wish list. My 15 year old boy body came today, and while I quickly snapped up a shirt and pants from the marketplace, I really want to save up for a Dollheart steampunk outfit. Question: does anyone know if the SD17 clothes will fit? Thanks!
I do not have this new body, but I have the old one and I buy SD13 clothes to fit as SD16 is mostly too big. So I am going to guess that SD17 would be too big for the new body. But as I say I do not have the new body and I do not have any SD17 clothes at home either. You might have to wait for Marie to come back home as I am sure she will know for sure. And congratulations on getting him home so quickly by the way!
I love the color that the shoes turned out too. Thank you all. I was a little nervous about dyeing them, but all turned out OK in the end. I can't wait to lay my eyes on Elysia. Not 100% sure where she'll go for her spa visit yet Jane, but I hope to send her right out after she arrives to have her back by Christmas? That could be wishful thinking.
Well I am so *wishful thinking* for you Theresa and *wishful thinking* that it will work! It really would be wonderful to her home for Christmas.......good luck sorting it out!
Theresa, you are braver than me to dye the shoes and they turned out beautifully! If you send your head off to the spa I hope that you get her home by Christmas. It is the waiting that is so hard. Thanks, Jane! If the old body is bigger than than the new one then I definitely need to avoid the SD17 size. I really appreciate the info!
Shipping notice! My Elysia is on her way to me. *Happy dance*. And congratulations on your 15yr boy froudfaerie!
I have a pair of Connie's cream shoes as well and am quite nervous about dying them. Yours came out beautifully and the color is great. Congratulations on your Elysia head. Can't wait to see the photos.
My beautiful Elysia is here! She will be going out next week for her spa visit. I have a question: All of my other DT heads have magnets in the headcap but Elysia's head doesn't have one and her headcap falls off when I move her. Is this the norm for all the 13Y heads or just certain ones? Thanks.
Oh how exciting Theresa I am so pleased for you And I tape the headcaps of all my DT dolls as a matter of course.........I simply don't trust the magnet and the head backs are at quite an angle too. On a couple of my dolls the magnet as not stayed in place too.....I wonder if the Elysia magnet has fallen off during transport. I think you should email DT and ask them about it, perhaps they will send you a replacement one. Just an idea
I wrote to Mr. A about my Elysia not having a head magnet and he wrote back to let me know she doesn't come with one. My faceup artist took a rubber band and looped it through the skull hook and then around the S hook a few times so the head cap stays on without tape. But that doesn't help when you want to change eyes frequently!
Thanks for the info Dana. There isn't any indentation for a magnet so I assumed Elysia didn't come with one. Could you post a pic of your Elysia please? My girl is going to Sally today and I will miss her.
It is hard when they are away at the artist........but Sally will bring her to life in no time at all I sure. Could she be back home before Christmas? I hope so ((hugs))
I finished painting my Soi boy! I decided though that his character needed to look older so the head has a new home and the body is being (hopefully) repurposed with a Dollshe IM Hound head.
Dollstown Elysia Faceup by Jay Searle by Danadollz, on Flickr Theresa, I am always happy to show off my girls! Here she is in her glamour shot from Jay. You can see lots more of her on my Flickr page! Virginia, you did a really handsome job on your Soi-boy-toy!
Theresa, I'll tell Jay you said so! I just love her look. I was wanting a 1920's beauty and Jay certainly delivered!
Last week the 13yrs girl body arrived..and I am smashed by is beauty. It is so dainty and well sculpted...I love it !!! So I could finally complete my hybrid and I am happy how it turned out (though the head is sitting a bit too high on the neck...but that's not Dollstown's fault!...seems that the hole in the MerryDollRound head is not as big as it is said on their website!) The only problem I'm having with the body is that the knees are extremly kicky...it's a really hard job to get my girl standing or even get her legs straight !!! Do you think that this is a normal issue with the body? What can I do? Will hot glue sueding be a solution? I am wondering whether I should tell Jonghak An about my problem...Here is a picture of my girl, her name is Moon
Nightflower I adore your Moon She is a perfect hybrid......I have never heard of MerryDollRound dolls I must have a look in a minute. Please what resin colours did you use to get this match? Edit: I have found the site and I see that MerryDollRound dolls use Dollshe Craft to caste their dolls just as Dollstown do........so no wonder the resin match is spot on! It is totally normal and it should disappear after a quick glue suede! It certainly has with my girl and she stands like a rock now.
Would you kindly tell me what size eyes you have in your Elysia, Dana? I am trying to figure out if the eyes that I am getting for my girl will fit well. Thanks! I love your hybrid 13y girl Nightflower! What a great combination.
Theresa, they are Eyeco 15 fantasy. The narrow eyed DT girls like Hyun and Elysia look nice with smaller eyes, IMO.
Nightflower , your girl is just amazing … I have to share my Amy arrived the other day she finally has her new face up and 13yr body ..which I love …. I also received my very first Boy … he is Soi ..face up by Virginia , I only have the head for now ..trying to figure out if I want a 15yr or 18yr … http://s213.photobucket.com/user/marypev62/media/DSC07058_zpsd3b23488.jpg.html
Mary I love your new dolls.......Amy is beautiful and your Soi so handsome! I can focus on him now and see he is handsome! LOL! Body for him.....hmmmmm I would guess your choice will be determined by who you will display him with and how easy it is to get clothes to fit the bodies. Check over in the DT18 thread how easy it is to get shoes for the larger body and how easy it is to get it to stand. I have a feeling that the DT15 body will be more stable. And I love how you have dressed your Amy......is this the first DT13 body you have had?
Your Amy turned our beautifully Mary! I love her whole look too. Congrats on getting her together and on your new addition.
Jane ,I’m leaning more towards the 15yr for the boy and I can pair him with Amy , i was seeing if he would look good as a girl but his face just screams boy … Amy is my first 13yr and she won’t be my last , she poses without problems I did suede her while her face was being done, she stands great with no help … Theresa thanks for the comment on Amy she turned out much better than I hoped for , Sally does fantastic work …
I am so pleased you are happy with the DT13 body Mary and I have found it is so easy to find clothes and shoes for if you are not a seamstress yourself (like me) You have to be careful with Dollheart which seems to be fitted to the smaller and more petite Peakswoods body but otherwise I have found almost everything sized for the SD13 girl fits! Dollheart shoes fit my DT13 girls though! I have never had the new male DT15 body, I only have the older one, but I have friends who have the newer one and they all like it and it appears to stand well too. Your Soi head screams lad to me too ......I love that face-up he has.
Vivienne, My DT Elysia by Danadollz, on Flickr Spamming more of my Vivienne in her Christmas outfit. Peppa - love your Amy and Soi. I would love to see what they look like as a "couple". But your lovely 18s will need another boy to fight over, too! I'm holding out to see what Mr. Torre is sculpting for the 15.
She is stunningly beautiful Dana and this a really special photo of her And I am so going to have to look again at human hair wigs......but I have got side tracked with looking at mohair ones at the moment though!
Thank you Jane! Check out Monique Trading Company. They have a whole section on human hair wigs. I really like the Priscilla and the Elizabeth!
I've been eyeing the Dollstown bodies for some future hybrids, but I was hoping maybe I could get some information on how well they pose. Specifically I am curious to know if the new 15yr boy body can bend/slouch forward? It seems like in all of the pics I'm finding that he's either standing straight or leaning back. Also how do you feel about their posing ability and standing overall? Lastly, this is just curiousity really, but do you think they might come out with a new double jointed 13yr girl in the future like how they re-did the boy? Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone (I know a few of you!) I'm new to this thread and I'm wondering the same things that Tsukiyono is about the DT 13yr body. I have an opportunity to purchase a freshskin Lucille on a 13yr body. I'm wondering how well she'll go with my Deogi and my Tessa (off topic). What do you think? Belinda
Hi Tsukiyono I am sorry I don't have the newer DT15 body so I have no idea if he can slouch as well as the old DT15 can. And I have no idea if Dollstown are going to rework the bodies of the dolls......I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Why not write and email to Mr Anjonghak and ask, he is ever so helpful. And hi Belinda....great to see you here and HUGE congratulations about getting a Lucille!!! I think Lucille works perfectly with the DT7 little ones....here is my Lucille (Darcy) with a friends Mari (who was having a strop/sulk at the time! LOL) I don't have a Tessa so I don't know what they would be like together.
dana, your girl is stunning … Belinda , I think I know who’s Lucille your getting and I say grab he she is just gorgeous …. she will be just like a big sister to them Jane love the photo.. New Boy Head ..anyone see the New 15yr boy head begin released 21st dec Yujin … Not bad …
