Nat17 I love your girl ....you must be over the moon with delight to have her home at last! And Martha thank you so much for the comparison photos and your thoughts about the new DT15 male body. ((hugs)) I will be honest and say that I am quite shocked at just how much younger it looks than the older one! I really wasn't expecting that. I still very much like it but I have to adjust my thinking now and think much younger! And Bake_Neko I have only ordered if a body/head is in stock so I am sorry I don't know about the pre-order option in the drop down menu. I have bought head and body at different times too (once with over a year's difference between buying them) and the resin match in each case has been consistent. And I can't remember about bills ......PM-ing you about that
Bake_Neko, preorder means it takes a little longer. I've had preorders come in a month and two months. I've never had it take longer than that. They don't put an invoice in the packaging if you use PayPal (I've never ordered any other way).
Jane & Danadollz~ Thank you for the help! The guy is ordered and first payment was sent... so now I wait and try to pay off the remaining part quickly. This is actually exciting! And it's also a breath of fresh air to finally deal with a company which doesn't have thousands of orders all at once and can reply/ really listen to your questions.
Bake, I know what you mean. I love dealing with DT. I've even had Mr. A email me personally a few times. So nice compared to some of the other overseas companies with complicated web sites and ordering systems.
Been meaning to post a photo of Monica (Seola, face-up by Jay) in her outfit I made a few months ago, don't know why I didn't try making tights before, buy a pair of toddler ones for £1.99 and chop them up! Also I am going to knit her a winter jumper so will be taking her out of these clothes soon.
Oh gosh Avril ! She is gorgeous in the paletan....really gorgeous And I love how you have dressed and styled her too....and well done about sewing with stretchy fabric too! Off to look at Monica again!
Avril, thanks so much for posting your Monica! She is so pretty! Love the violet eyes and the smattering of freckles. The outfit is very nice, too! You've done such a nice job with fabric and texture choices! Love the chair. Di you upholster it or did it come like that?
Hi Dana and Jane thank you for the nice compliments, the chair was a wing chair I picked up at a doll fair, I took the wings off and used an off-cut of fabric left over from when I re-upholstered a human size chair (I did 3 years training as an upholsterer).
Avril, you did a super job on that chair. You were lucky to have on hand a small print upholstery fabric that fits so well on your doll chair!
Avrilpaeony , she looks fantastic , and like the others the chair look great … Just got my shipping notice my Amy 13yr is on her way …so looking forward to her
Peppa, congrats on your Amy! My girls came back from the spa today and I couldn't be happier! The best days are dolly package days! IMG_2807 by Danadollz, on Flickr
Oh Dana!! This is like Christmas Day!!! Huge congratulations again! I love your two new girls so much......no worries about the paler resin now, I'll bet! And I know I have said on Flickr already, but I love your girls dressed like this with the same fabric but each with a different style of dress. So clever!
Thanks Jane! It is exactly like Christmas, complete with anticipation! Order in May, get them in July, sand and send to Jay in August, get them back in September! I now understand why You Tube is chock full of doll box opening videos! Lol. Before I understood the process I used to think, "how silly!". Then yesterday I actually considered making one, it was that big of a deal to me! I also think I was nuts for being nervous about the WS. But seriously when they came they looked like Caspers!!! I wondered how Jay would possibly be able to make them into anything but Vampires or Ghostly beauties. But she did exactly what I wanted and they turn out to be just beautiful Southern Belles! Tory doesn't mind them being so white, either! She likes to stand out! Lol
Amy arrived today ..Need to share …the more of these girls I get the more I want … Now to find her a face up artist …
Huge congratulations on Amy's arrival Peppa Do you have any idea about what face-up artist you might like to use yet? And I so agree about these dolls being addictive!
Thanks Jane , l can’t believe how better the 13yr body poses compared to the 18yr , she stand's very well without all the knee drama , well there is a little but not much … as for the face up artist I have found a few in Australia , which is good , as the travel really worries me … so hopefully she will have her face done soon Just one more …
Yes I have heard that getting the larger dolls to stand is "an adventure" at times! LOL! And I would guess that a quick glue sueding would help cure that kicky knee issue you have on this girl. I love the DT13 body so much. You will find shoes a lot easier to find for this body than the taller one too I would imagine! And I totally understand about the fretting that goes with sending dolls away for a face-up I prefer to send to artist's in my country though I will use European artists as I love the work from them so much. But I fret when the head is out of the country. And thank you for the extra photo
Oh wow Dana! I love how you have dressed her too. I think you have another girl who can wear many different outfits and make them all seem as if they are the one and only perfect outfit each time!
Another outfit for Monica , I actually made it for another doll but decided to try it on her and as usual it suits her more!
Sometimes I expect the DT girls to break into a smile when they put on a great outfit or go outside or whatever. Like I would be so happy to see Monica smile over getting to wear such a great dress! Love the flower and heart buttons, b/t/w. any hints where to find them? Love the boots, too. Where did you get them?
Thank you for the kind comments, the boots are from rRabit shop, they always have a thread in the news section when new monthly pre-orders open but also have in stock items on their website. I have these boots in black and tan in both SD and MSD sizes as well as several pairs of shoes and have been very happy with everything I have had from them, I find their styles tend to be a little different and more like real shoes. The buttons were a bit of a lucky find as I am very fond of a shop called White Stuff (for me not dolls) and all the labels in their garments come with 3 small buttons on so I have a little collection of them! I have found very nice small buttons though on ebay and etsy.
Any one got any more photos they would like to share especially Amy … Cause I would love to see
Dollstown Amy by Danadollz, on Flickr Peppa, I know you've seen my Amy before but I changed her eyes and wig today and she looks so pretty I had to share. Amy is on an 18 yr so she needs big hair and striking eyes to balance her body, I think. These are Eyeco fantasy eyes and the wig is a Monique Gold Mallory.
Azura recently tried out for the part of "SD Girl" in my home... I had fun painting her but the connection wasn't there. I've got Soi on the way and am hoping for a good match! In the meantime, here's a photo of Azura and I'd love to see anyone's photos of Soi!
You didn't have a connection with Alina either.....perhaps it is just the later Torre sculpts you are not connecting with? (random guess) But so saying you painted Azura beautifully!
Well, I have Deogi and Soyu and I absolutely adore them. But it's probably a bit of the problem I have with larger girls. I like "cute". *L*
Yes and they are sculpted by Anjonghak.......so it could just be that you get along with sculpts from that part of the Dollstown team (at the moment) but as I said it was only a guess.
Wow, I think you're right! I really wasn't paying too much attention to or knew who sculpted those. Do you know who sculpted Soi?
Soi was sculpted by An Jong Hak. Funny, because I am only drawn to Torre's sculpts, which makes me very curious to see the body that Torre has been working on. What sort of stylistic differences will it have from the other bodies?
I seem to recall that Torre is working on the 14yr boy body, but I could be misremembering. Will have to doublecheck the announcement.
Mr. Torre is working on a boy head for the 15yr body. Mr. A answered my question to that on his Flickr feed. I look forward to seeing a Torre boy head.
LLT Little Edria by Danadollz, on Flickr For those interested in heads that work beautifully on DT bodies, here is my LLT Little Edria on a DT13.
OMG! What a gorgeous doll you have there! Ironically, I have been contemplating upsizing my DTelf body that I have my LLT little Edria head on to a DT 13 or 15 body and it is great to see how yours looks scale wise. I would love to see some nude photos if you have any available somewhere.
Little Edria on DT13 by Danadollz, on Flickr I think you can get an idea of proportion from this. The DT13 is not large breasted but Little Edria isn't supposed to be, is she?
Peppa, I knew I really love the LLT sculpts and I read through the DOA LLT threads to see what bodies were possible matches. apparently LLT heads are cast by Dollshe and so are DT sculpts so there was speculation that the LLT heads would work on DT bodies. I took a chance and was pleased with the result. I think Jane may have a hybrid list and maybe others do, too, but I've never seen one published.
Virginia, I love the faceup you've given Azura. Sort of a vintage look I think. The texture of her resin sort of ... glows, for lack of a better word. So beautiful.
Hello everyone ! still feeling new in the hobby I am very excited to make my first hybrid : I fell in love with a head (Fang) made by the Spanish sculptor JinXed from the Merry Doll Round company. Since the MDR dolls are casted by DollShe I thought that a DT body must be a pretty good resin match. So I ordered the 13 yrs girl body in Oriental skin. I am sooo hoping that the measurements given on MDR's website are precise...MDR neck circumerence is 9 cm - DT 13yrs neck circumerence is 8,5 cm...well, I will show how it works when the body has arrived (please cross your fingers for my new girl and me, LOL ) What I'd like to know is whether anybody tried high heel feet on the 13 girl body...and if so, which company do you recommend for matching heel feet ? Thank you so much for answering
Well first I said no more MSD, and now I have 3 all from Dollstown. Now after seeing all these lovely girls I decided 1 SD girl won't hurt. So ordered with a friend to get Bandi before they are all gone as Dollstown is no longer going to make a few heads. Bandi Mui Hue Estella boy SophB Sia Momo SE So if you wnated any of them better get now while the skin tones can be picked.
A funny thing happened yesterday. In the morning I thought of a new character. All day long I mused about his story and POOF! By evening he was there! *LOL* The original plan weeks ago was to make a Soi boy. But I'd decided I wasn't going to keep the old-style 15yr body that was coming to me in the name of "budgeting". Well we all know how that goes. Turns out I'm keeping the body AND the Soi head and my boy already has a solid identity, past, present, and future!
I am so glad that it has all slotted into place for you Virginia that old DT15 male body is amazing.........do you have a Flickr account?
