Dollshe Waiting Room 12

Mar 12, 2020

    1. Hi! Waiting on a Dollshe Owen since around mid-May. Then splurged on a sale for a Dollshe Saint special package SEVERELY marked down, last week.

    2. Woohooo! :celebrate I was ready to wait patiently for a year or two (or three) for my girls,... and, and... now i noticed my December order's status changed from "processing" to "packing". It seems that my (Fashion) Amanda could be on her way home pretty soon. :dance I really hope it's not a mistake.:eusa_pray

    3. Ah, Dollshe, no one believes him. The boy who cried wolf. I sure hope your packing is real!

      • x 4
    4. I won't believe it until I see the tracking number... and even then (fingers crossed it's for real), with all the Covid border restrictions, it may take at least two months for the package to arrive.

    5. Is anyone else having difficulties logging into their account on Dollshe’s site? I have tried two browsers and it’s not working.

    6. I just checked on my cellphone and it worked fine.

    7. Thank you!

    8. No problems here. Did you manage to log-in?

    9. Hitting the one year mark in a few days waiting for the closed eye david head and glass holding hands. Almost forgot about it at this point >_>

    10. yeah, that seems to be the best way to deal with the wait times! I've been waiting on a fashion Saint and Kahn since March 2019 (both paid in full) and I've almost completely forgotten about them! Oops lol.

I feel stressed about it though, cause I wish I would have gotten the SD size instead of MSD. I recently got my first SD dolls and I had no idea how much more I'd like them than the smaller MSD sizes! I LOVE the bigger size. Ugh. I wish I would have waited till I was a bit more experienced with BJD before purchasing both these guys. But I think I'll still be happy with my fashion sized guys...if they ever show up lol

    11. Who did you order from and how long ago did you order? You don't need to answer that, but depending on what the answer is, it might be possible to change the size. I don't remember in what thread it was, I think it was in the previous iteration of this thread, but people have talked about changing the size of their orders in the past along with colors, so if you're able to pay the upgrade fee I'd encourage you to inquire about the change. :D

    12. Yes! I ordered through BJDivas and they asked Dollshe if i could change my order, I actually changed it twice but this was within the first 3 months and both changes were upgrades so if you didn't order too long ago and are changing them to bigger dolls they might be able to do the change, ask them! :sweat

    13. I didn't change my order, but I did add the two other bust sizes six months in. It generally seems that Dollshe doesn't even start on the order for many months, so there's no much harm in changing it.

    15. :XD::...(

    16. *also twiddles at 15 months*

I was told my boy should ship this month...but I'm not holding my breath. And absolutely no update on my 7 month boy.

    17. I’m probably a crazy person for this, but I already have a Classic Maxi Saint and Arsene on order. From April, and now I just put the Fashion Maxi Saint, Bermann, Bernard, and Aramis on layaway. :shudder

What can I say? I wanted more MSD boys and the sale really got me.

    18. This is my fourth Dollshe order & I waited over a year for each of the others. I guess I’m a glutton for punishment. I’m waiting on fashion maxi Arsene. I was told by bjdivas that shipping was expected ‘in three months’, that was last month. So...

    19. *flops for 23 months*

Pretty sure I’m waiting on my doll to make a long and convoluted journey from Korea to my little hovel in the southern US at this point...

      :hamster:

    20. Finally got a shipping notice for the doll I ordered a year ago. Was hoping to get my Amanda along with it but I guess not. Time to forget about my order for awhile----best way to deal with semi-impossible waiting times.:huh?:

      • x 4
    21. Just got another package from SartoriaJ - Korea to UK, EMS, 8 days from the day it was despatched. Definitely an improvement! :-)

      • x 1
    22. Yay!! Definitely better! I am hoping it will be the same for the U.S.! Thank you!! :eusa_pray:3nodding:

    23. Hmm....I wonder if it's time for my monthly 'Poke Dollshe' email. I'd messaged and they told me 'we'll ship mid May', messaged again beginning of June and was told 'Thank you for your email, it prompted me to request your dolls be made by the replicators'. :/ I wonder if it takes this long for them to mold/sand them? *sigh * I just want my two boys in. P misses her bf badly.

    24. Apparently I'm insane. I'm now realizing I want a second Diana to be the character that my Amanda was gonna be, and Amanda can be a different character. . . I've gotta consider this though. need to see if I want the pose+ for the second one or not. . .

      • x 3
    25. Bwahahah!!! I mean, we're all mad here, but I think it comes down to those darn prices. They're too good to pass up for the quality and beauty of the dollshe sculpts. So we're all like "Mneh, what's another decade? I can wait... And while I wait let me just order a few more..." :wiggle

      • x 5
    26. That is painfully accurate. I'm waiting till my birthday next Wednesday to do it, but I did a test sketch and the character looks lovely as a Diana. She's a snarky redheaded tattooed moderately immortal psychopomp, so she can look like a college freshman rather than a grad student. It'll just be more awkward for the grumpy scientist.

    27. I ordered my Rey Lewis a year ago this April. Every time I check my order status, it says Processing.. This is my third DollShe order and it’s been the worst in terms of delays. I got my other dolls about 6 mos. after ordering. After reading some of the comments on this thread, I am resigning myself to the fact that it may be 2021 before I get him.

    28. *late night thought while browsing other forums* I wonder how much quicker things would be and how much more work both Dollshe and BJDivas would get done if people stopped poking them for updates every other week, especially before the 12 month mark? This isn't regarding anyone here, btw, but a post from a buyer in another forum that got me thinking. And I sort of got curious because they seemed to have been aware of the very long waittimes, but to ease their impatience they STILL kept prodding. Do they not realize that this makes it take even longer not just for them but for the rest of us too?

Also: This is not to throw shade on those who keep asking, just wondering how much of a snowball effect it has? Like: Dolls are late - people inquire about where their dolls are - more dolls are late because of time spent on answering inquiries/finding dolls in production - More people ask - and so on and so forth. And in turn, how much time would Dollshe save on being up front about long productiontimes on their site?

    29. I think there's a happy medium to asking after an order. Anything that goes over a year I feel you're allowed to ask after. Obviously if you're aware of the long waits but keep emailing and email often that's unreasonable.

But here's the thing. Even if you're getting 30 emails a day, casting resin has some down time. I've had responses from Dollshe and seen what others have gotten. There's not much time lost replying to inquiries in DollShe's case. No don't needlessly waste the company's time, but I highly doubt that's what's slowing down this specific situation.

Anyway...I came here to say my doll sat in Korea for 10 days before finally getting on a plane. Hopefully he enjoyed some food&beverages on his vacation.

    30. I agree that we shouldn’t be harassing for updates. I also realize BJDivas has little or no influence on production time. That being said, Mr. Dollshe has not been behind for the past five years because he’s answering emails.

    31. I ordered from BJDivas...over a year ago. My Saint was in May 2019 and Kahn was in July 2019. Idk, you still think it's worth a shot to ask them about changing up the size? I mean the pricing would be all different, too. I don't even know how they would charge me for that.

    32. I think it's worth asking! Can't hurt to in any case. :) I can't help you with the other stuff though but I do think it's worth asking especially so you can get the doll you want. :)

    33. Oooh, I'm not saying this is down to people asking where the heck their doll is because 99% of the time it's a very valid question when it comes to Dollshe XD And you've got a very good point in that it's probably unlikely there is time taken out of production to go look for specific dolls judging by the replies people are getting. 0:) So yea, probably doesn't do much either way in the end as long as you're not spamming for updates. ^_^

    34. I mean, he could have been lying to me in his responses. When I was curious about my orders (two fashion boys, two different order numbers) I asked BJDivas for my order numbers so I could email instead of wasting their time going back and forth for me. Each time I got a response from Dollshe (I've emailed....twice I think? Crap...I think it's time for another) he gave me a response. First was that things were delayed and they'd be finished by mid May. June rolled around and that email came back with 'Thank you for emailing, I've just sent your doll's requests to the replication office'. Like...ty? Would you guys have not done this if I hadn't asked what was going on?

It's been a month and a half....right now I'm wondering if I should just wait until August to email again to see if they get in to Divas.

      • x 1
    35. I honestly think that the time they waste on replying to those emails is their own fault, they should let people know the truth about the wait times, I know a lot of people wouldn't order from them if they did but it's worse for their business to lie by omission to their customers, I didn't know about the incredibly long wait times when I ordered and it did upset me that it wasn't mentioned before but I'm willing to wait that long cuz I really like their dolls, and I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't mind either if they knew what to expect, I'm talking exclusively about Dollshe btw *_*

      • x 3
    36. I agree. I found out about the wait times before ordering, and though it made me hesitate, I went for it anyway. And technically, Amanda is only my second ever doll order. I'm picky about what I like, so I'll wait if I get a doll I really, really like. If they were forthright about the wait times, they might lose some customers, but the ones they'd keep would all be the patient, loyal ones who keep coming back (like a few of us here:lol::chomp:). It might also reduce their wait times in the long run, or at least decrease the abysmal backlog.

      • x 2
    37. What I think is so frustrating about Dollshe's wait times is the lack of consistancy. Some people wait years, others only months. My Molly came within 4 months which absolutely SHOCKED me as I fully expected to be waiting at least a year for her, while other people's dolls take like.. a year or two.
and it makes me question if I want to place an order but at the same time those prices tempt me nghh.

I keep lusting after a fashion maxi Arsene because he's so dang pretty. Am I crazy enough to get onto the year+ wait list though? Mmmm.

      • x 2
    38. Well, it all sounds reasonable not to pester Dollshe with questions, but once 6 months that I was promised are up I am afraid I am going to be that nuisance and will feel no guilt asking for updates. I specifically asked in an e-mail when placing the order and was clearly given production time as 6 months. And yes, I do think that Dollshe would have saved enormous amount of time on being up front about long production times on their site and in e-mail communications.

      • x 2
    39. Heck, yeah, I t hink it's totally reasonable to once the period of time they told you it'd be done by passes to contact them.

That's pretty much how I handle all bjd companies. I make an order, they say "it'll be x amount of time" and when that time elapses you drop a quick line to say "hey, so how's it coming along?"
I mean, why give a time estimate if you're not gonna stick to it? I get that unforseen stuff happens but what annoys me is how many companies flat out lie and underestimate when they must KNOW it's gonna take longer because it's been taking that long for other customers already.

    40. Greetings to all who are experiencing the Dollshe-wait times blues. I know your pain. I've ordered only Dollshe fashion dolls since 2015. Almost anything I've gotten since then has been Dollshe related. I have one of every body sculpt so far. The last order I made was Order Made Monica Bellucci in December 2017, with a supposed updated 26F body. She was released in September of 2016, so we're coming up on four years wait for those who ordered right away. My whole Dollshe vision revolves around a central female character. I would prefer not to use the present Amanda body, as the other Dollshe bodies are so much more refined. I've started peeking at other alternatives as a substitute. All of my passion and motivation remains in limbo because of the long wait time. I refuse to even consider ordering again until Monica arrives. Having said that, I'm very curious about the 13M and 11F body types. I would have hoped we would have seen them long before now, as they seemed to fit perfectly for my doll plans. So yes, I sympathize. I am not getting any younger!

    41. I ordered via BJDivas back in May 2019, all the 26F ladies ( well, for Erica Snow it's the head only, I'm going to put her on a DT 18 yr body) so I'm trucking along into year two haha. The longest I had to wait previous to this was 5 months in 2012 for my Rosen in pale tan. I think I was coming in after that period where people were waiting a year for their dolls and everyone was upset then too. When I ordered my Pabo and IM Hound in 2013, it was actually 3 months, I was super surprised because my Hound was also in pale tan. I'm hoping it won't be more than a year and half, but who knows. I do send an email to BJDivas, every six months give or take a month, just to see if there is any news (hey, I might get surprised lol), but I knew the wait would be long from the beginning. From my experience, handling emails for customer service actually takes quite a bit of time, so I'm not surprised the responses are lacking from Dollshe or aren't accurate, hand waving, etc. Casting is pretty intensive work, there actually isn't downtime if you're casting multiple dolls because there's prep work, unmolding, cleaning, etc, etc. But the results are sooo pretty. Definitely waiting for my ladies before I order any more of the guys, I've been wanting a Rey Lewis and King Corey.

    42. I'm in the process of organising a layaway for a 70cm Bermann through BJDivas. Judging by some of these replies I'm in for a looong wait ahead of me haha.

    43. 3 years and 10 months? Ouch.

    44. First payment on my second Diana is in! I'll add her into the list now.
That makes I think 10 Dollshes I'm waiting for? -dies- I need to stop. I really need to stop.

      • x 3
    45. @TatterPunk OMG! You really love these dolls. (I could use 10 Arsene bodies myself.:lol::lol:)

      • x 2
    46. They're gorgeous and worth the ridiculous wait (though I do wish it weren't so ridiculous >__>) I'm still considering possibly getting a full sized Adonis as well, but I REALLY need to wait till I get at least one of these dolls to order anything more (So realistically, if they still have the sales going on in a few months I'll end up caving and getting him lol).

      • x 1
    47. I decided I won't be ordering more dolls until I get my four home... but it's so hard not to. I'm not a reasonable person with money unfortunately, even less so with dolls, and I love Dollshe. Even with the ridiculous wait times. I'm currently "in need of" two classic maxi Mystic bodies and a few fashion maxi dolls (Saint being in the forefront). I don't know where I wanna fit all that in my tiny room, but that doesn't matter!
(Life was so much easier back when I was a MSD-sized only doll collector)

That being said... 7 months in for Adonis and Amanda, 6 months in for two Dianas. Layaways are paying themselves nicely ;) I feel better paying in increments than throwing all the money at Dollshe at once, but that might just be me.

      • x 1
    48. Totally agree about the layaway thing. And yeah, I have NO idea where I'm gonna fit all these dolls either. And props. And clothes. 0__o. Oh well!!! We'll figure it out when they get here!

      • x 2
    49. Well happy first birthday to my Dollshe order; it's been a year today since I placed it. I honestly regret doing so. I have seen and handled Dollshe dolls in person several times, and I own a wide variety of dolls to compare them to. And though the Dollshes are very nice, they're not, in my opinion, in some Completely Different Category from all other BJD, so far above and beyond all others that these ridiculous waits are somehow warranted. They're really nice dolls, sure, but no better than really nice dolls from many other artists who can manage to take my money and actually send me a product in a reasonable timeframe. I get that there are a number of my fellow Dollshe customers who feel like the dolls are worth these waits, but for me personally? I just feel like I gave Dollshe an unsecured, interest-free personal loan of several hundred dollars, which he maybe, possibly, might someday pay back by sending me a doll, at some undetermined point in the future, when he feels like it. Not cool.

      • x 12
    50. @thedarkeststar13 I'm feeling the same way. I've waited a year for my Arsene and 11 months for my Adonis, I was really excited at first and now I'll most likely be selling them both when they arrive.
I really want to like them but due to waiting for so long, resenting them seems more likely.
I was very lucky that my first Dollshe took less than a year to come home to me, that should be the norm, not the exception.

      • x 4
    51. EXACTLY. Under a year should not be the exception. You get where I'm coming from. I know what you mean about not even being sure you want the dolls after all this nonsense. Even if I keep my Arsene, I will not be ordering again just on principle-- I'm not going to enable these crappy business practices. (Also, we must have ordered our Arsenes at the same time!)

    52. I got lucky and has very short waits for my David Kuncci back in 2015, but I have been waiting a whole year just for a head and a hand. oTL

I also kind of wonder if Dollshe's many many sales is going to drive down secondhand market prices or if the market prices will stay higher because it's like "yo do you wanna wait a whole year?" I was in the middle of a layaway for an in-stock dollshe lady at BJDivas like right before the sales on 26F started so I'm a little "dang I paid more" but also the wait was not a whole year.

I'm tempted to try fashion size since my big boy collection size is making space more of an issue, but I'm also like uuuuggggggggghhhhhhhh do I love this enough for the insane waits? and it's so far a nope. Maybe I'll try out a different company's fashion size.

Dollshe fills me with some mixed feelings because I love them artistically, but as a business, not really...

    53. I'm in the Arsene club too. A year in May and Adonis a year 2 days ago. I really just want the bodies since I got an Arsene last fall. Although it will be interesting to see if I sell a head or make twins. I am looking forward to seeing what I do to Adonis though. It still will reshuffle my hybrid plans to get them (A fun good thing) but I'm doing pretty nicely without them.

    54. @thedarkeststar13 We must have!
I definitely will not be ordering from them again, I don't want to go through all this stress!
I'm so despondent about all of this, I haven't even bothered buying anything for them.

    55. I'm just really happy that I only NEED Arsene :XD: I would like Diana but I probably won't be getting her

    56. I'm dying for a mini Diana in pale tan but the wait is nuts. I already have 2 orders with them I haven't got yet. I'm trying to convince myself not to but I'm scared I'll break. :sweat
