Dollshe Waiting Room 12

Mar 12, 2020

    1. Got a tracking number for my 45cm Leo :celebrate:celebrate

Ordered him direct from Dollshe in 2021. Originally, on the 55cm body but decided to switch it last year to the 45cm because I heard the prototype for 55cm hadn’t even been made yet :vein:vein

Honestly expected him to take longer so I’m pleasantly surprised!:lol:

Just glad he’ll be home soon. :love:love

    2. Just got a tracking number for one of my outstanding 2020 orders. :?

In all honesty, I'd written off both orders long before now and just resolved to call it a very expensive lesson, and instead order the "backup" sculpts from a different company and be done with it! I don't even think I want this doll any more, but we'll have to see when it arrives.

Is it too much to hope that I get another tracking number soon for the other outstanding doll so I can be done with this?

    3. My brain is off today. I'm trying to figure out what exactly Dollshe is trying to say in the blog post "Only the largest size bjd is made". Is he planning to stop making the limited 100 in the smaller sizes? Or all of the smaller sizes (limited 100 and originals) entirely?:?

      • x 1
    4. I believe that is what he is saying but he isn't very consistent. So who knows what will happen in the future. Since I am not planning to ever place another order with him, it doesn't matter.

      • x 4
    5. If he’s saying once and for all that he’s not going to make the smaller dolls he’s taken orders for, then I hope he’ll be fast with the refunds (I laugh the laugh of the DANGED, I am a month away from four years waiting)

      • x 3
    6. I thought he was just not going to sell them in the future. I think he's wrong though! A lot of people want the smaller dolls!

      • x 1
    7. Loads of people want smaller dolls! I’m definitely one of them! The options for 1/6 scale stuff and accessories are amazing

      • x 3
    8. I had a Fashion Mini Arsene ordered when they were first available, but I requested and received a refund last year when it looked like they weren't going to be made. :( It's such a shame as I would have loved to have had him! I love my fashion Maxi sizes too! I can't go over MSD size, it's just WAY too big for me. I have to admire SD+ from afar. I am still waiting for a couple of Fashion Maxi things so I will be watching this closely.

    9. From reading the announcement, I’m believe only the two sizes of superhero David are being discontinued, thus they are on sale, not all fashion sizes.

it may be the case that the superhero mordern and fashion sizes are not really selling well, especially compared to the full size one, and are being phased out.

I wouldn’t worry , unless it explicitly says all of the smaller size models are being discontinued.

      • x 2
    10. @MAITALIA I hope you are correct! You read better Dollshe-ese than I do!

    11. @MAITALIA I am pretty sure, @redmaiko means the statement from January, 28th and not the latest one about David. For the Limited dolls, the modern and fashion line will be discontinued after the ongoing sale for the fashion line. So he still takes orders for them. And also for the regular fashion dolls. But they had also written, the special 26F special package will be out of print after Dec 2nd and it is still possible to order. So I guess, nobody knows.

      • x 2
    12. I read the post again and I agree it appears to be only the superhero David.

I'm not interested in the superhero body in any size! Just not my style!

      • x 2
    13. Quake: definitely possible.

on the other hand, all of the new models, king, emperor, prince, are being offered in all three sizes.
I may be wrong, but that suggests that he is not discounting the two sizes, at least not all of the models.
It’s more likely that he’s phasing out the models that may not be getting many orders.

hence why the 26f smaller sizes are being discontinued, along with the smaller sizes of super hero David.

Plus he could change is mind next week, of course

    14. That is great! Is it a task to find clothing for such a big doll? I mean finding shoes that will fit any large bjd is a lesson in frustration. What is your doll wearing now?

    15. The same happened to me with Marco! Finally on its way since January 2021!! I actually got in touch with DollShe a month ago, as I wasn't sure what the deal was. As soon as I decided to change the size, the process has was pretty smooth. Communication has been very pleasant as well as DollShe answered promptly to all my messages!

      • x 5
    16. Yeah. I’m not giving up. And I hope he doesn’t either. Cause I’m gonna be messaging him weekly until he sends what he said he’d send.

    17. Did you order your doll directly from Dollshe? And did you pay full price or was it one of the specials? Just curious.

    18. Coming up on two and a half years at this point and Dollshe has never responded to any of my emails asking for any information on my order. Am I sending it to the wrong address or using the wrong subject message? Is he just ignoring me? I wonder if he's started to just finish orders in reverse chronological order or what.

I just want my damn doll. I keep waffling on whether or not to ask for a refund or alteration to the order to get it faster or just keep waiting and hoping to get what I actually ordered. I've started considering getting a refund and then buying a second hand version of the doll even if it's not exactly what I wanted.

    19. so I went on Alieexpress and bought some toddler shoes for my Superhero David. (72cm). He has the absolute biggest feet I’ve ever seen on a male bjd. Lol. And shoes make his feet look even bigger. But they do work. He wears a size 21 toddler shoe. These shoes were all of about 8-12 dollars for each pair. I got his socks at dollar tree. They are new born socks. They give baby print footballs on them but I figure u can’t see them inside his shoes. The shoes make his feet look ginormous. Lol but I still love him. I personally love the last pair the most. I think they look the LEAST like baby shoes and more like just regular men’s sneakers.

    20. @comicbookartistboi I like the last pictures with sneakers a lot. Definitely, this is a great discovery to share, thank you! I was worried about shoes but if I ever receive my other two orders first, I am going to buy him. Seems like new dolls are shipped in a better time frame.
Your David looks great! I hope you'll finish to customize him very soon!

    21. This March...it will be three years since I ordered a Dollshe Diana...(through BJDivas)...I expected a long wait but not this long.:sigh

Meanwhile,I caved and bought a second-hand lovely Diana on the MP...in the same resin...with lots of extras to share with my original purchase... if Dollshe ever fulfills his obligation on my order.

Anyway...I made heavy edits to make her being in the buff family friendly. I just wanted to share her as I'm thrilled to have her.:XD:

    23. I heard from Dollshe yesterday. I had placed an order on March 7, 2020 for an Owen doll in elf green. Apparently it is ready to ship and they asked if I wanted to pay extra to have him shipped strung. I opted to string him myself. I have had them ask this question before and it was still another month before the doll actually shipped. So, it will be three years by the time I get him.

    24. I finally receive an email from DollShe!! My 3 dolls (from july 2021), are ready for shipping! ^_^
I asked for the assembled version :D
      Wish me luck! :dance

    26. Is it SD or Fashion size Lisa ? :o

      • x 1
    27. She's stunning! I think it's the first Lisa I see out there in the wild, not even Dollshe has pics of her in his website, lol.

If you don't mind me asking, who did the (gorgeous) face ups? how long did your order take to arrive?

    28. @Almalexan it is the Classic Maxi size.

@Weilansen Thank you so much! I was so excited, that painted her face up almost immediately after receiving her. I even didn't take pictures of the blank sculpt, which I regret a bit... It is a beautiful sculpt, so I went for a natural face up, which emphasizes the sculpt itself. I ordered her at the end of November 2020.

    29. You are so talented! that face up is outstanding. Even though that was a long wait, at least it was worth it :XD:

I went looking for more pictures of Lisa on Instagram, and I was surprised to find out that Lisa wasn't sculpted by mr. Dollshe but by an artist that he commissioned (she also made the Leo sculpt, apparently) :aeyepop:

Here I was, thinking that he personally created all of his sculpts! the more you know, I guess :blush

    31. I cancelled my Divas order in november and just contacted them to get news on the refund.
They replied "we haven't received any refund funds from him for orders since a long time before yours".
Well F***. Kinda wished I'd known that before cancelling. I knew the refunds were also slow to come in, but now it sounds like they're just not happening at all anymore.

    32. Yes. The last pair do look like real shoes. But wow.....they still look like boats shipwrecked on an island! Lol.

I am thinking about displaying my Rey Lewis. I have alot of dolls but short on space. So I have to rotate dolls in and out of displays. Before I unbox Rey, I searched for his accessories and I seem to have misplaced Rey's wig. So I need to buy another. Does anyone know what size wig Rey Lewis wears? Thanks.

    33. Yeah. His feet are already massive. Lol. As are his hands. But the shoes make that even more so lol

    34. Did BJDivas offer that you could cancel your order? Did they specify at the time that you would receive a refund only in the event that Dollshe gives them money? If this was not specified, then they should refund you regardless of whether or not DS has given them any funds. You entered a contract with BJDivas, not with Dollshe - if they offered a cancellation and refund, it is their responsibility to refund you immediately.

      • x 13
    35. They did tell me they allow cancellations for Dollshe.
I believe they used to personally refund customers, but since there has been so many cancellations and so little money back from Dollshe they stopped doing it and now wait for funds first.
I finished my layaway over a year ago. No amount of "they should" is gonna help me if neither company wants to do it.

    36. Diana is such a beautiful doll. I really hope you do receive your original Dollshe order. Three years is.... So long :(

      • x 3
    37. Thank you so much!

Yes, I hope my original Diana will arrive sometime this year! :eusa_prayThere is really no excuse especially since Dollshe has fulfilled orders on dolls ordered much later.

      • x 3
    38. There really is not! A friend of mine would love a Diana, too, but just feels a little tentative about the long process. Hopefully the Dollshe folk pull it together :eusa_pray

    39. A friend of mine who’s new to the hobby saw the Diana sale, and emailed Dollshe to ask for the timeline he’d be able to make the dolls—6-7 months is what he’s quoting now… I remember back in the day, he always used to say 3-4 (and take a year and a half). He was feeling iffy about dollshe’s rep, and being off PayPal protection, and let me know, and I showed him the wait list. It just interests me that Dollshe is quoting timelines longer than the PayPal claim window now

    40. maybe a touch of honesty from DollShe at long last?

    41. I think he's just giving lip service. It would probably help if he didn't try releasing new dolls all the time. If you pay for something and expect it in a certain time frame and it's not being delivered, that's misleading.

      • x 6
    42. It seems as if Dollshe is revealing new concept art for a new doll every week. Outrageous. He will never get a interest free loan from me again. I love his dolls but his business ethics are horrendous.

    43. I just finished the hair and faceup on Aquido. My Dollshe Superhero David. I am now starting his outfit. I love my Atlantean Warrior so much!!!

    44. @comicbookartistboi - love what you've done with his hair, especially the shaved part with the fade. His face up is really nice as well.

    45. I've hit the 3yr mark. If you can still file a claim do it now and they will send your doll otherwise not guarantee! I filed a claim and they sent the first 2, the 3rd one I got to relaxed and they haven't sent him and now I can't do a claim. Don't wait! SAVE YOUR DOLLS!

    46. I really want another Leo, but it seems like another 3yrs of waiting… It didn’t took him that long when I first started to purchase dolls from him. It used to take about 8 month to a year which is already quite a long wait… What’s going on:xWHYYYY

All the head modes are super attractive so as the bodies…

    48. Has anyone received a 70cm Mystic boy old school special package type lately? June is 3 years for my Aramis, so just checking the sand traps... seeing if any of the Mystics types are being produced recently.
I'm not sure the html wait list gets updated too much so i thought I'd ask here. thanks <3

    49. Has anyone heard any whispers about Maya?

      • x 1
    50. Hi, I have ordered Maya on November, 2020. And then Marco on January, 2021. While my Marco is "waiting to be casted", I had no news about Maya and probably, production is delayed because there weren't many orders for her.
Both were ordered directly at Dollshe.

    51. I'm sharing this just for information, so we all are aware of people's experiences with Dollshe. Right now, Dollshe owes me 2 1/2 dolls. I have ordered a number of dolls from Dollshe over many years of collecting and I love them. The last one I received was my Natalie Portman, who was ordered in September of 2020 and received May 12, 2022. I am very happy with her. Here's what I'm waiting on:
      1. I am currently waiting on a green Owen - ordered on a whim due to a sale in March of 2020. I was informed in February 2023 that he is ready and his status is "packing". He has been packing for 3 months.
      2. I was also waiting on a Classic Mini Leo, ordered February of 2021. I contacted Dollshe in February about this doll to see if the Classic Minis were going to be made. We agreed change this order to a Classic Maxi Leo. The old order was cancelled but the new order has not been funded by the money I paid for the old order yet. It's been since March 21.
      3. I ordered the Joseon Prince on December 22, 2022, using layaway payments. They promised 4 month delivery. Paypal covers me for 6 months, so when April rolled around and I still don't have reasonable answers for the other two dolls, I submitted and claim for the first $200 payment. Dollshe waited until the deadline to respond, but they did respond, and they asked nicely for me to cancel the claim. I asked nicely for them to ship my doll that's been ready for 3 months and to credit me for the other doll order. They didn't, and I didn't. So, I figure since I got the refund of my first installment, they only owe me half a doll. I am about to file a claim for the second installment.

I don't post much, but since we're all in this together I thought the info could be useful.

      • x 17
    52. Thanks for posting, @siteblock. It is important to hear what others are going through. Good for you holding their feet to the fire. I hope you get what you paid for, or refunds, and soon.

I have been messaging BJDivas about monthly since Dollshe told them my order would be shipped by the end of January, asking that reminders be passed along on my behalf. At this rate, I fully expect to hit my four-year anniversary in July.

I will reiterate, this is not honey resin, nor an exotic colour or 'new' sculpt. It's a Saint, in plain white.

There are no words for the feelings every time I see his latest stupid octopus doodad on Instagram.

      • x 16
    53. Well, it's almost 5 years since I ordered and no update on my order, which was changed to a size that Dollshe reportedly can make, but won't.
So, I've given up and requested my money back. I hope that this will get resolved this year at least.

      • x 9
    54. Yeah I'm on 3 and a half years for a fairly standard order in a standard color. I've basically kissed the order (and my money) goodbye. I didn't expect getting scammed for the first time to be by one of the most established bjd companies/creators.

      • x 10
    55. Those of you who have been waiting forever for a doll - what is Dollshe telling you as to why it is delayed? I had to ask about my Classic Mini Leo, but they were not going to make it and they weren't even trying to contact me so I could change it to something they are making. The order has now been updated to a Classic Maxi Leo, and is probably starting over on the timeline, but at least something is happening.

On the disturbing side, this is a quote from the email I just received from Dollshe about my doll that has been waiting to be shipped:

"#5838 - Completed and in storage. Due to difficulties in paying shipping costs, delivery was temporarily unavailable.
The doll will be shipped soon...Until the doll is shipped, please set the PayPal status as desired.
We will update shipping information as soon as possible."

This doll has been complete since February. Has Dollshe been unable to ship anything since February?

      • x 5
    56. I emailed the naver email instead of the one listed on the website, and got a reply similar to the one I sent 6 months ago.

"We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay in delivery. The doll you ordered is waiting for casting. Casting and delivery schedules are being delayed due to operational issues. We are looking for different ways to solve the problem. We will resolve the shipping delay issue soon. The doll will definitely be shipped, so please give us a little more time.
The more orders are canceled, the more difficult it is to operate. We will be able to give you shipping instructions soon."

Sucks to see how he's actually actively making random things and not any dolls. Did anyone receive the collaboration dolls at all?
