@lorenav6661 @sno4wy by reading all of you I don't have any hope to get my dolls in less than at least one year so I don't know if I order or not, but prices are really attractive... I wanted to know, I can't see if I order an Amanda beauty classic 26f, she will come with 3 busts and the 3 pair of hands ?
From what I understand, she comes with one bust but three heads and all the hands. Also, honestly, if you can steel yourself to expect the long wait and understand that people who ordered the same doll after you may get it beforehand, then you should just DO IT. My dollshes are some of the most absolutely beautiful dolls I own, just their hands alone I'd wait forever for and still be happy. (that said, I want my dolls T__T)
oh yes I see ! three heads it's just written I'm so stupid haha I didn't see the other heads before so I didn't understand lol I owned an Amanda like 4 years ago that I had to sold, I remember that I was so impressed by the hands, that's the most beautiful dolls hands I ever seen
I absolutely adore the hands - and the feet are lovely too (and the rest of the dolls as well lol). Worth the wait in my opinion definitely.
This. So much this. This is so important, not just because it's 100% true of Dollshe, but also because it expresses so much good sense that I can't applaud you enough for writing it. I saw some really senseless drama in a Dollshe FB group just yesterday where someone was throwing a tantrum regarding this very matter and accusing a dealer of scamming them because of Dollshe's Dollsheness, and no one could talk them down from it. It was super frustrating to see, especially since the dealer was attempting to help them but they were having none of it. While I wish that Dollshe would fix themselves, I've pretty much given up on that ever happening. There's just been so much senseless nonsense with the pandemic going on, and I've seen or heard so many similar craziness from my friends who work in retail who are frontline workers, that I can't express how much faith in humanity your comment has restored for me. Thank you.
Thank you I'm very glad that I was able to restore at least some bit of faith in humanity for you! I work in an "essential" retail job, and I had to finally just take a two week leave because of all the stress and BS going on right now. I'm on day two of my leave and stuff is going well now. I've actually gotten a chance to CLEAN. Hopefully this means doll photos shall follow too. Anyway, back to the subject of the wait, yeah we all wish Dollshe would get his act together, but we still order because the dolls are so AMAZING. People go into it (most of the time) knowing things are gonna be slow as molasses in January, so it makes no sense to get upset when things are slow as you expect them to be. A little frustration is normal (and I think for the most part on here people have been good about it even when they're frustrated) but some of the drama in some places . . yeah nooope. And it's not just Dollshe right now, like you're saying, it's regular retail places too, mail order and brick & mortar both. I am babbling though now. Back to cleaning.
I agree with you guys, most of us already knew Dollshe had long wait times before ordering, I didn't know it was so bad for some though, but I still ordered another doll from them (And thinking about another one help) because they make gorgeous dolls! I think we all agree that they should deliver dolls in the same order they were bought (which really makes no sense to me) but we honestly don't know what they're going through, we all need a lot of patience and empathy right now. I've made a bjd in the past and working on another one and it's honestly no joke, and i'm sure if you guys have done it you'll agree with me, I have so much respect for all bjd artists and even if I have to wait 5 years for my dolls I know it's gonna be worth it, also @TatterPunk, please share box openings of all of your dolls when you get them, i'm so jealous!
I definitely will! I'm hoping I can finally get off my butt and get a youtube channel going by then so I can do box opening videos and reviews. I'll at LEAST do regular box opening photos though if I remain lazy (which let's face it is rather likely.) Or at least I think I will. . . who knows what will happen that far in the future!? I definitely need more doll storage space. . for the dolls themselves AND for the props I'm getting for them 0__0. Cleaning is making me realize I have WAY too much stuff though.
I'm glad you finally had time to do some cleaning, it's so satisfying to have only things that spark joy, yep, I Marie Kondoed' all my apartment and I'm feeling good, I already have some space reserved for my dolls I would really enjoy that, I feel like there's not enough box opening videos on YouTube for Dollshe dolls!! They'll be my second and third bjd's so I get really excited when I watch them, I wanna record a box opening as well but I don't think I'd have to patience to go find the camera and set up a place to record in if I have the box there waiting for me, but yeah, who knows how things will be when they get here I might have many more dolls by then
I was gonna make a joke about youtube not being invented yet when lots of people ordered their dolls, but I'm too tired to make it make sense. I love Konmari-ing things. I'm gonna go through all my clothes tomorrow and see if I can get some closet space figured out. Right now I'm trying to figure out shelving. At the moment all my dolls (10 right now) are 1/4 size. . . but I'll be getting some 1/3 dollshe's and one off topic fellow who is 1/3 size. . . soooo I'm gonna have to find space for a big doll piano for my Arsene, and an easel. . and the dolls themselves 0__0. I live at my parent's house right now (no rent yay) so I've got everything confined to one room. I need more shelves.
It's so effective!! Oh wow!! They will need a lot of space! Arsene with a piano, that sounds lovely!! I'm so in love with that sculpt I'm excited to see your collection!
He's gonna be a sort of phantom of the opera-y character named Gabriel who is somehow linked to my Diana who is to be an albino vampire (named Mina).
Thank you so much! The big dolls are all from this year orders so they'll probably show up next year or later (sooner if lucky). I'm hoping one of my fashion girls gets over here soon at LEAST so I can get my character Myrrh shelled. She's gonna be a fashion Ausley. Eventually. One day.
How is she gonna look? How long have you been waiting for the first one you ordered? I kinda want fashion Diana or Amanda, they're so gorgeous and I feel like they're gonna be super cute in that size!
The first one I ordered was a fashion Amanda, It was a year at the end of April. I have Myrrh's head already (though I have another Ausley with both the SA and regular heads an a body for another floating head ordered too) Myrrh's pretty gothic looking. Her signature outfit is knee high flat boots with a bit of a point and buckles, black leggings, a black mini, red and black striped top and a black leather coat. I need to make the coat, I had the boots commissioned (they're eternally shipping from Russia now) and the rest of the outfit is almost done. Her eyes are cypress green (I actually managed to find some even CALLED cypress green for her - or rather had them made by Dreamingtree studios) and her hair is white with black ends and short in an undercut. Usually her makeup is black smudgy eyeliner with red eyeshadow. She's one of my older characters - like from 2001 maybe.
Can't wait to see her, she sounds cool!! I just looked at your Flickr and I love your Amanda!! I gotta be strong!!! Your collection is a dreaaaam!
Thank you so much All my Dollshes I CURRENTLY have are from the second hand market and bought during my wait lol. I can't wait for my Dianas especially. I've got a Fashion one I ordered in October and the Classic I ordered in January this year. I just really want all the pretty ballerina dolls darnit!!! I want to make pretty pancake tutus for them! I'm also really looking forward to Mina, cause I'm wanting to do the EN head as the biting head with a little blood and stuff. Also cause I reeeally want to paint a doll that doesn't have a teeny tiny head for once.
Be patient my friends, I watched box opening on Youtube and some doll collectors told that their dolls (from others brand, for example Popovy dolls and Loongsoul or Dollzone) also had suffered the same long waiting time as Dollshe about 6 months ~ a year. Besides, Mr. Dollshe said that reducing the price yet still keep amazing doll quality is one of the ways he managed to prevent recast dolls. As you guys know many famous artists lost their doll cast for Chinese recast factories because customers expect they got the dolls as soon as possible. So, let's support and cheer him up better than an anxious mind. Love you all.
I think we have too much understanding for Dollshe. When I asked for the delivery of my Saint (ordered in August 2019) they lied to me two times! They assured me to ship him in February, of course nothing happened. I still have no doll. I was very understanding, but now I think they should be told that the way they work is no longer acceptable - at least not for me! I threatened to withdraw my money. After 9 months of waiting they should be able to send a doll. Even in times of Corona I got dolls from China earlier than theirs! I will definitely not order at Dollshe again. I swore this to myself a while ago, then fell for it again. This time I will keep my promise. This is just too annoying...
Yea, I could somehow understand your anger. I used to think like that. It's too bad when someone didn't keep their promises. I wish they’re faithful with their shipping schedules and tried to hire someone to arrange the production time then we could be less wondering. oh gosh, I wish all the best. I hate quarantine
I'll be honest, I'm probably going to keep ordering dolls from Dollshe despite the bad business practices. It's going to continue until the prices stop being this good, or until I have all the dolls I want (so... not counting the current layaways, only 4-6 more, plus a body or two). I waited 19 months for my fashion Diana and I think it was worth it. I only really got impatient to have the doll once she was actually shipped Also, thank god for BJDivas, I honestly feel more comfortable paying in small increments, knowing my dolls are already paid in full by them and just awaiting their turn to be cast. That being said... I have so far resisted the call of fashion Saint. Will I continue to resist? Who knows. Not me.
Yep, same. And I'm so far resisting the call of the big Adonis and Saint. . . but who knows how I'll feel once I've got my Arsene paid off >__>. I am also SO thankful for BJDivas.
I just don't think about my classic Adonis and Arsene much. I will be a member of the one year club in 4 days. I am insane once any doll ships though. I'm going through it for my first LS doll right now and I am glad to be in quarantine with how crazy I feel. No one should see me like this! Haha.
I knoooooooow!! I love the ballerina aesthetic as well, would you make them punk ballerinas? hehe i'd like to see that @DeanDynamite yeah, the way they treat their customers is not fair tbh, but as long as they keep making those crazy sales they will keep attracting more customers, they should stop doing that and finish our orders but I don't think they will do that soon. @Melkore I know, it's really hard to resist and with BJDivas I feel really safe, I'm frustrated but at the same time i know it'll be worth it and i'm still thinking about getting Amanda or Diana, if I order them soon they'll be here sooner... that's my logic
Mina will likely be dark gothic ballerina mostly, as she's a vampire and old af. Not sure on the little one yet. I guess it just depends on what I'm feeling in 8 years when I finally get her lol.
Just sent in my last payment! I'm glad I was able to change the resin color of my order on such short notice but it's disheartening to hear that it's been a full year and my order isn't even in production yet...
A bit late jumping in here, but unless I end up with good money and a good enough deal to get a diana and arsene together, I probably won't order again direct. They're nice dolls, but I felt a bit...Disappointed after waiting 14 months for my first bernard and this wait is at 15 months...I thought I'd give it another shot but honestly starting to feel I'll never get him. If I buy again, it has to be a value that I'd be more okay with losing if the time comes when dollshe inevitably fails to deliver If dollshe was honest and was more willing to answer questions and concerns as opposed to just telling us what he thinks we want to hear, then it'd be a bit better. But saying 'it's a six month wait' or 'it'll be shipped next month!' then still not ship for four more months...Or reports he was rude and wouldn't even give an estimate but a rude response...If he was more honest and upfront, I'd be a bit more understanding. I get being overwhelmed, but don't lie to us
This is how I feel with the Classic Diana I just ordered. I'm still really new to the Dollshe waiting game- I just ordered at the end of April and it's my first time buying a Dollshe brand new- but I've resigned myself to the idea that I'm probably not going to think about her too much until I get a shipping notice. I will admit that the wait times made me hesitate at first, but what pushed me over the edge was the fact that I almost ordered the basic doll last year when she was on sale for the same price as the special package is now. I couldn't pass up that price for the doll AND all of the cool accessories that come with her.
Everyone, I can't believe it! I got a shipping number for my Saint. I don't know if I wrote when he was really already far in production or if my threatening worked. Whatever the long wait has an end!!!! (I still don't like ordering at Dollshe anymore xDD)
I hope I don't have to wait until this whole Covid situation is over until Dollshe ships my boy again. It's been now 2 months since Dollshe shipped my boy and the Chinese customs sent it back to Dollshe. He promised me he'll ship him again when the airmail works again, but nothing has happened after that. Other European people have gotten their packages but mine isn't sent.
I have been looking for answers about the wait time, and so far it seems to be between 1 year - 3 years wait..I'm super nervous, I ordered Diana & if I had done better research on wait time I probably wouldn't have :'/ She's technically my first doll, so I guess this will be the test of patience!
Oh no!! Good luck! It really sucks, mine are my second and third doll and it feels horrible to have to wait for so long but everyone says it'll be worth it so let's hold on to that
At least you’re in good company here! I can attest to how worth it the dolls are, because I’ve had one, and I still have one of their heads! What resin colour did you order her in?
Thank you! Cheering you on! Before we know it, we'll have them soon enough~ Ooh, Which sculpt's? That sounds really exciting! I agree, seeing other's posts of their beautiful work makes it hard to resist! Of course! I'm really glad to be in such great company! Everyone is really helpful and kind. Omg! Which head is it? What did you think? I got strawberry fresh - If I remember correctly it takes a bit longer, but since I'm clumsy I wanted something more durable. hahaha
I have a light gray Amanda head, and I’m waiting on a pure skin place Amanda! Strawberry fresh is a really pretty colour
I got Classic Maxi Arsene with the Pure Pose+ body and Saint with the Arsene body, I plan on switching their bodies hehe which one did you get?? I'm honestly looking at other dolls already, I want something to get here faster
Somehow I'm starting to think that Mr Dollshe's promise of 2-3 weeks last month might not have been accurate. Surely all of us waiting here will die of shock. (Of course, there's always the chance she's in the post from him to BJDivas... I can hope, but I'm not gonna start looking for eyes or a wig or anything for her just yet.) 22 months. Place your bets now whether or not I'll join the two year club!
I hope not ^^ Remembering how impatient I was about my first doll. Dollshe obviously not the best choice for the first one. Maybe if you had a lovely bjd at home, it wouldn't be so frustrating to wait for Dollshe ^^ On the other hand, this hobby itself is full of different waiting times: dolls from companies, custom face-up's, clothes, wigs, eyes and so on. Don't be mad at me for the advise, that you didn't ask for. But I think, if it's possible to purchase another doll, while you waiting for dollshe, that would be nice option.
Mine says Packing! Im excited, it would be amazing if my Diana arrived before my Bday in a month. Anyone knows how long packing usually takes?
@pinktezka in my case, packing took between a day and about two weeks. I'm crossing my fingers that it's very fast for you!
Two years I waited for fashion size Diana! She arrived around the middle of this April (2020). That's a ridiculously long time! I paid in full when I ordered her. So the two year wait did not include any layaway time. And like a fool, I couldn't resist the big Diana sale. Please, please not another two years!!!!! Here's my little Diana with the OE head: Dollshe Diana black & white by Jay Searle, on Flickr I love that she came with three heads! I gave each of a mine their own look.
@Jay She is stunning~ I received my Saint and Bermann today after ordering them in Aug last year! Now I just have my Amanda left Here are my boys!
According to Dollshe, my doll is ready and will ship some time next week! What with shipping times, looks like I will have waited almost exactly 23 months. Wow. I'll still have a few weeks without work -- minimum -- by then, so at least I'll have some time to properly devote to getting her a faceup and some clothes and suchlike.
They look amazing! Congratulations! You’re so lucky, you supposed to place the order right at the time he did that batches of doll and that skin color. I guess so.
