I just ordered the following and while I love their dolls I am now nervous. I need this sculpt for My favorite Marvel character LISA (26F CLASSIC MAXI - 65CM) - SPECIAL PACKAGE × 1
I'm at 2 years 8 months for one order (which has been missing in transit to the dealer for six of those months), 2 years 2 months for another, and 2 years 1 month for the third. My advice? Stop giving Dollshe money until he gets his shit together and runs his company like it should be run, instead of using his customers as a source of long-term loans for his other projects that have nothing to do with the doll orders he owes. If you do order, then don't wait until PayPal protection runs out. Cause Dollshe will string you along and promise your doll will ship in "4 weeks". 4 weeks turns into 4 months, with more shipping soon promises, which turns into more months of waiting, which turns into years of waiting.
I don't know if that doll has even been printed/sculpted irl for them to make the casting molds. You might want to start looking at sculpts from other companies as a back up plan for when you're 3 years still waiting and haven't gotten what you ordered from Dollshe
After 3 years of waiting now UPS is holding my doll hostage due to "severe weather" with no delivery date available. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday...I feel like I'm never getting this doll.
At this point, I will add my advice: if you're thinking of ordering from Dollshe, don't do it. I honestly feel like I got scammed and will never see the doll I ordered. The 3D prints that were shown as proof that the size I ordered would be available in a reasonable time frame seem to have been a cruel joke. If I had not seen those 3D prints, I never would have ordered. After three years, it doesn't even look like the size I ordered was ever worked on past a 3D print to convince potential customers to part with their money. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm wondering how long I will hold out until I give up and ask for a refund from BJDivas.
Exactly. I will say once more: can we all just PLEASE STOP GIVING MONEY TO DOLLSHE. the longer this ridiculous and unsustainable backlog situation continues to build, the more likely it is that the whole crazy mess will finally implode and NOBODY gets their dolls. falling for these "sale" offers and ESPECIALLY giving him money for products that only exist as a computer rendering only helps the whole shitshow to drag on, and it is more likely than not that you will get nothing but stress, frustration, and at BEST an eventual refund out of it.
I also ordered my Amanda in April 2020. Back then, I really had a hope I would get her sooner. Today I wrote an email to Dollshe about my order. After reading here about the awful situation with Dollshe, I'm really anxious at the moment. I hope I will receive some respond from him.
Some things never change it seems. Back in the day I bought a Rosen when the Pure Body debuted. Rosen then was the closest thing to Hound and Dollshe was offering a half price layaway. I was poor but ecstatic-a Dollshe boy I could afford! 13 months after he was paid for (and after at least 3 strongly worded emails, the last requesting a refund) I got my doll. He was beautifully boxed with custom dyed elastic, but what I had to go through to get him put me off ever ordering from Dollshe again. I feel for everyone who sent him money and is currently waiting. Things have obviously gone downhill, give that he is shipping parts loose in a box now, and people have been waiting years for their dolls. I have to wonder if there is some way to get his government involved, some sort of fair trade commission, given that he's scamming people all over the world.
@light_hearted I highly suggest emailing him a ton reminding him that he promises 50-60 days and then threatening a Paypal claim close to the end of the paypal protection period. Lisa is not likely to be produced since she's still only a 3D model unfortunately, but you can still try to get him to finish her. Just don't let your wait get past the protection period or your refund could theoretically disappear. Somehow he's still in business but I wouldn't count on that being the case during your wait. @Isabeau I have already filed a report with the US FTC, but haven't heard anything from them. It might have something to do with me not being a victim or no one else reporting. I highly suggest everyone who is a victim take every action they can to stop him. Everyone in the US can use that link and I'm sure many other countries also have a similar government agency. Our warnings in this thread are clearly not enough to dissuade everyone from giving him more business. We can repeat "do not order from dollshe!!" over and over yet people still give him 2 year interest free loans. It is nice that he's finally shipping some dolls to Divas, but the fact he's shipping cancelled orders instead of giving Divas their refund is incredibly scummy.
@nyaaain Does the US FTC cover international fraud or just domestic? I wonder if Korea has something similar. Probably wouldn't hurt to hit both if it does.
@Shai Ahhhhhh he's so pretty ;; I hope you'll post pics when he's painted. (I see a cute kitty, too! ) Makes me wish my Rey Lewis would show up. But he's been lost in the abyss between Dollshe and Divas since July 2021 with the rest of our first order orz
@LupusDarkmoon She made herself comfy in his box and I don't have the heart to move her, lol. I wilsh you a speedy arrival! We're still waiting for the other half of our order so I feel your pain... I will definitely share pics when he's all done!! :3 They're so darn big, I didn't expect it to be honest. Like I did, but I didn't, lol.

Like I did, but I didn't, lol.[/QUOTE] I have the same problem when cats get in the boxes XD Thank you ;; So far, we've gotten two out of five from that order and one of them was from someone else's canceled/defaulted layaway orz I hope you get the rest of your order soon, too! And I'm excited to see him when he is! lol I totally understand that. I was definitely surprised by my first 70cm and he was slimmer than the 28 boys XD
@LupusDarkmoon Ahh my quote got so messed up and I didn't even notice. Fixed it XD;; Same! My boy was from someone's defaulted layaway. But, yes! He's going to be a bunny boy, I'm so excited. XD I have 70cm dolls so I was really surprised with how...thick? These boys are, lol.
It happens lol. I'm totally subscribed to the thread, though. Have to keep track of all the bs lol. Yay for defaulted layaways, I guess XD That sounds adorable, though. The biggest bunny I definitely know that feeling. We've got some big beefy boys in the house and it's just like "how do you even wear pants with that booty??" The answer: they're all pantsless right now XD
Today I finally received ONE of my dolls from BJDivas. I've been waiting for this saint for more than 3 years. I was worried that I would be upset and want to sell him. While I am angry at Dollshe, I am glad to have my boy and hope that I will get the others this year as well. I had asked for a refund for All of my purchases (7 total I believe) but BJDivas gave me the opportunity to buy this guy because someone else had defaulted on their layaway. Dollshe said they had finished my Hound as well, and he will be sent out soon. I really just want my dolls at this point. And NEVER want to order from Dollshe ever again. They used to be my favorite company. I adore the sculpts especially the old classic boys. But this is just ridiculous and has been so aggravating. I hope everyone continues to receive their dolls or refunds. I'm not out of the hot water yet ...
@LupusDarkmoon Hehe yes. And OMG, the outfit I bought specifically for my SO's doll (the one we're still waiting on) we tried the clothes on today and even those pants don't fit! I'm so not happy because even though I contacted the artist...it's been two years, I doubt anything can be done. They were made specifically for this doll...apparently.
We got an response from the webmaster email! The order is "processing," go figure, but it (somewhat surprisingly) solved the composite problem we were also having of "hey this is the paypal receipt but we never got a confirmation email, nor an account creation confirmation, so hey wut is afoot here apart from abject dollshe tomfoolery," (to paraphrase, lmao). At a 9-month wait and counting we are way at the bottom of the list when it comes to wait time worries compared to everybody else, so I'm really hoping that these newest fulfillments are fair to you guys!!
Well, I just got an email from Dollshe that my order is done... I'm sure it has to have been a cancellation order. There's just no other way. They're asking for more money for shipping. Of course. Except I paid $65 in October 2020 so his dates of January and June 2020 shipping rate rises are doing *nothing* for me. >.> I'm feeling oddly spunky concerning all this.
Have you got any of your Dollshes yet? Arsene? Diana? Maya? I ordered 4 Dollshes last year and hope to se Dollshe deliverings ..
I've been here for going on two and a half years and there are many people that have been waiting even longer. At this point, you should absolutely expect that it will be longer than a year, I'm sorry to say.
I asked BJDivas for an update on my November and December 2019 orders that Dollshe said would ship in four weeks in November 2021. Apparently Dollshe has shipped and they're just waiting for them to arrive. Fingers crossed they don't get lost in the abyss like our other order orz
That’s good news. I asked for an update on my order from October 2019 but BJDivas had no news. But it’s a good sign that others are getting theirs. Maybe it’s the colour and resin type that’s delaying mine.
Yeah I've noticed its been mostly normal colors here, and none of the Honey shades. I just want my slightly translucent grey doll
Ahh yes I sadly agree with you. I swore to myself that I wouldn't give this guy any more of my money, but I had a major weak moment and that ridiculous sale got me. It's exactly as you say...we're giving him interest free loans! I'm definitely going to keep an eye on my refund window for PayPal. The whole thing is just so frustrating.
Just waiting for the refund alone is even more frustrating!! I am done with Dollshe, even if he gives them away FREE I am not falling for that trap!
I finally got a message that after waiting 2 years for Rosa, she was ready to ship but needed another payment since shipping had gone up. I asked for a refund instead, and then after another wait, they said they would pack differently and ship but it wasn't ready yet after all. Why???
What even.... that's either bad organization or they were trying to bilk you for extra money when they shouldn't be????
He's probably only asking for extra shipping money because he knows he can get it from most people. He has no right to be asking for more from anyone at this point. All orders have already paid for shipping from him and it's his problem he's shipping years late and the prices have gone up. He can deal with it. There's also like no chance he'd rather give you back your money at this point if he's already made the doll so I hope everyone says no.
Yeah, I mentioned in my email to them last Thursday that I would prefer the doll assembled but that I wouldn't pay more than $25 extra dollars in shipping based on current shipping estimations using the EMS Korean site and what I've already paid for shipping. I got the doll on sale, so a little extra isn't bad, but for those of you waiting for years and years plus paying full price I'd be like 'heck no'. Last email they said they would assemble it and they were 'sanding the doll and inspecting it' and that they'd notify me of tracking number as soon as it's packed. But they haven't invoiced me for any differences in shipping cost yet. *shrugs*
April 2019 ordered a fashion body. No word from Dollshe or BJDivas. I keep getting the next month email and that has been going on since December 2020 so yea
I emailed asking about my doll (Adonis, honey Diamond Grey) and was informed that "In the case of modern gray, the delivery was delayed due to the infrequent reproduction" I emailed back asking for correction and clarification, but no word yet. Not optimistic.
Yikes. That makes me nervous about my Honey skin Cocoa Tan Adonis. I asked BJDivas if changing to a regular resin would help, but their reply made it seem like it didn’t make a difference. I’m willing to switch it if it means I’d get the doll. I was hoping that Dollshe just hadn’t gotten around to the Adonis dolls yet and that was the delay. But I think I knew deep down that it was the resin smh
I refuse to pay more at this point. I agree that it is his fault shipping went up during the years of waiting. Last message said it is being sanded and inspected and not ready to ship yet after all.
For what it's worth, it seemed to have helped in my case. I ordered directly and when Dollshe posted about discontinuing honey resin due to production issues I emailed and asked if it would speed things up if I switched to normal resin. They said yes, immediately refunded me the difference and I got the doll within a few months. Still, not super speedy, but...
haven't other people received dolls in honey resin somewhat recently? I'm not especially interested in changing my order from honey to pure resin simply because there's not really an equivalent to the color I ordered (raspberry) Besides, it's not as though the resin itself isn't available, DollShe just doesn't want to cast it anymore - which is totally his choice to make, but I gave him money for a specific doll in a specific resin and I shouldn't have to settle for what he feels like making instead years later
All my dolls are ordered in Honey resin as well. And I may even be getting one of them eventually - Dollshe did ask if I wanted to switch the order, I sad no and a few weeks back they sad my doll is ready... Problem is I wanted her to be shipped properly assembled - I did not wait this long to get a "construction kit", so I payed extra for shipping and now I'm waiting for them to put her in the box... It has been two weeks since that happened So it's still the same old glacial scale... I do have some tentative hope thou... And she is in raspberry as well, so they do cast Honey dolls... Eventually.
Both my orders hit the one year mark, and since I've placed them a lot of things happened. I received a Granado Michael, two Rainman heads, a second-hand Iplehouse Rexy and I have a Fog Gray Elf Luthien on shipping... just to say. And my Dollshe orders were before all that. I am not sure I still want these dolls because at the time they were the best options possible for my characters. Well, now not anymore. I don't know if I could ask for a refund, but I really would like to turn the money I've paid into something different... like the new BJD he's going to put in production very soon, although I am a bit disconcerted about Dollshe's priorities and working schedules. So the new doll comes before Leo, Theo, Maya, Lisa and the other sketch dolls.... Ooook. Why time is relevant? Because during the months that took Dollshe to ship old orders, other companies like Sartoria have done really much, like releasing new sculpts, new face up styles, new sizes... Just because they got a better schedule and organization. So from now on I'll stick with them.
Do not order something that is preproduction from DollShe. It won't get finished. That guy has the attention span of a gnat.
Yes! Arsene arrived April 2021 after 22 months and Diana arrived in December 2021 after 18 months. Maya still doesn't exist so no sign of her yet and I'm at 16 months wait, I also did go ahead and order Leo who hasn't arrived and we're on 14 months for him. I'm patient though, I adore my Arsene and would wait two years for him again.
I emailed him the other day and got an almost instant "One more month" and it's been a year and a half. I went with Fresh Skin so I at least don't have that as a reasoning.
I love that people on Instagram are commenting on Dollshe’s newest money grab. That they have yet to receive their dolls which were promised. One person even referred to it as a scam. I wonder what the total amount of orders that have not been filled.
my growing certainty that I will hit the 3 year mark this July and still not have the Arsene I paid for is pretty damn depressing...
I am not waiting on a Dollshe doll, but I'm so aggravated seeing what everyone is going through with little to no response from DollsheCraft. I saw some users comment on his new IG post for his new LE doll... and I was happy to see people actively speaking out, but also disappointed to see he is still completely avoidant and deferring everyone to go talk to CS team. He even has the nerve to tell one user to 'be silent' and keep their comments to themselves because his IG page isn't a "DollsheCraft" page. But totally ok for him to advertise the next new Dollshe product, when he has a crap ton of outstanding orders and angry customers. Yeah, can't imagine why anyone would complain? /s These past weeks he's been updating constantly on this doll and seems to be hell bent on getting it done and marketed asap... and yet not a peep about anything else. Guess he's just not that "excited" to work on any of the other dolls....But remember everyone... according to Dollshe, you're not being scammed if he eventually gets around to giving you a refund!
Yeeeah, refund. More like oh, your doll is actually done and will ship soon so we're not going to give you your money back. I'm sure he's only so adamant about this doll because he needs money. There are plenty of already ordered dolls he could be making, like most of the sketch orders. I think Leo is the only one of those that's even been produced? Even though Carl Mars was the first one released. At least he has a physical prototype of the new guy lmao. Though, not sure why he's being offered in Honey resin when they said that resin was being discontinued. We're still waiting on several dolls, but they're all supposedly in transit to BJDivas. Asked for an update on the order mom did (that was shipped in July 2021), so will see what Divas says. Hoping they'll be found, but we're not really holding our breath. And I figure I'll wait til around March to ask about the two orders I did, since they shipped fairly recently and mail has been slow. I just want everyone to get their dolls so we can all put this bs behind us :/
I personally LOVE the new guy. He's right up my alley (except for his magnum schlong hahaha). But I would never in my life give more money to Dollshe. It's a shame for sure. I'm asking monthly about my Diana (18 months), and I'm going to ask Divas about my Khan (25 months) next month.
Sigh. For my own sanity, I vowed a long time ago never to order from this hideous, unprofessional, uncaring and self-absorbed man again...but I honestly don't understand why others continue to do so. If this thread is not enough to warn people away, I don't know what will. There are lots of his dolls on the secondhand market - even brand new ones from people who fell out of love during their prolonged wait. If everyone would just stop getting starry-eyed and ordering because of his fabulous 'sales' and beautiful prototypes (good luck with those...really hoping he doesn't lose interest after taking enough people's money), then maybe he'd either take the hint and have enough time to get the old orders completed - or fold because he doesn't deserve a shred of customer loyalty. Either way, it could only benefit the BJD community. His obsession with those ridiculous octopus soaps and candles and whatnot was really the last straw for me; nothing like committing yourself heart and soul to a new business venture backed entirely by the money from customers who are still waiting for something they ordered years ago. I guess...maybe everyone who orders thinks that they will be one of the lucky ones who will get their doll in only a year? Pfft. Unlikely. And to keep things in perspective, the last doll I ordered from a truly professional company took a whopping six months...exactly as promised. If people do not boycott him, he will never, ever change his business practices. Really, why should he?
@celga everything you just wrote is EXACTLY what I've been trying to say for awhile now. I honestly find it so depressing every time I see yet another person pop in here and say some version of "I just ordered so-and-so! I know, I know...but the sale/but the dolls are so pretty!" How is it not obvious that a great price is NOT a deal if you don't actually get anything in return for the money? Or that it doesn't matter how pretty a doll is in photographs if it's never cast and sent to you? I ordered for the first and last time in July 2019, (for an order I am STILL waiting for!) before the whole mess really started imploding. It still turned out to be a giant mistake, and one I regret very much. But at this point I can not wrap my head around seeing that he is actively screwing people over and that his queue of unfulfilled orders and broken promises is now stretching out over multiple years, and still deciding to hand him my money anyway. surely a lottery ticket would be cheaper if you fancy a gamble! I've said this before, I'll say it again: why can't we as a hobby just agree to stop funding this lousy scam? It's not like anyone actually gets anything out of giving him money anyway. All it does is allow him to keep preying on the BJD community. Like Celga said, if he stops getting free money even though he's not sending dolls, he will finally get his shit together and give everyone what they're owed, or he will go away and stop scamming doll collectors. Either way makes the hobby a better place. in closing, CAN WE PLEASE STOP GIVING THIS MAN MONEY TO DO EVERYTHING BUT MAKE US DOLLS
I'm thinking I'll wait the month, email him again, and if there is no shipment notice, dispute the charge. I ordered a similar doll for a friend that I'm now relatively sure I will never be paid back for, so I might as well keep her for myself and accomplish the same reshelling. When I ordered, I knew about the long wait times, but I figured with the way I am with the hobby, a year or so wouldn't be a bad thing. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut now I want the new doll body because I can and want to make time for it and I can't if it's not here. @_@
I do not collect male dolls and the new guy doesn’t suit my taste, so I’m safe. I wouldn’t buy a new Dollshe before I receive the dolls, I am already waiting for, anyway. Yet I think, these new orders will be prioritized and will slow down the processing of older orders even more. It might be a short-term solution for him, because they are pricey (at least $250 for an extra sleeping head, you’ve never even seen a prototype of) but not for us. At the other side I wonder, how many people would really fall for it and place an order. Clothing and shoes might be a big problem and it is inadmissible, that there are no listed measurements. And in case, the doll sells well, would he keep his promise, there will only be 100 pieces made? The special packages were also proclaimed as limited to 100, sometimes even to 30 pieces but they have been sold like that for years. I really hope he will (the trophy with the serial number is encouraging), because if I buy such an expensive doll as a limited edition and find out it’s not the case later and it’s even offered in a sale, I would feel screwed. I am patient and can wait more than two years for a doll without getting mad but this would make me really angry.
Dollshe: Too many options causes production troubles. Also Dollshe: So anyway, I made a new giant doll. That takes god knows how much silicone to mold up. He has gone private in the past when the crowd gets understandably salty in the comments. the man really learns nothing.
In terms of honesty and customer relations/service, truer words were never written! But he has learned the one thing that every good conman knows: in the immortal words of P.T. Barnum, "There's a sucker born every minute." And we as a community are responsible for teaching him that.
