Well I’m joining the hobby officially. Placed my first BJD order on March 25, Adonis (Fashion Maxi) and Khan (Fashion Maxi). Didn’t think I’d be ordering two dolls at once, but those special package deals are lovely. And all those HEADS. Now I have to settle in and learn what it truly means to be patient…
Why did I read on MSN website about a possible USPS mail shut down in June if they don't get the funding from the government?? That means that ALL mail and packages will cease in June for delivery, WTF!!!!! The workers already get $17-20+ a hour as is!!!!! I hope it is not true cause I need my dollies!!!
I know right? What are your plans for the heads?? I'm torn between painting them the same or making totally different characters with each head
At least right now my plan is to paint them the same and just have multiple expression options for the two characters. I just love dolls that have two heads and give you options, so finding those that come with three and four was like a dream come true. Of course if I get them and end up feeling like I'm not getting use out of some of them, I'll start reconsidering whether it's time to look for another body or two and just make some new characters. But I have a general idea in my head of what characters these two will be, so current plan is to give those characters lots of life through expressions!
Oh yes, I've thought about getting other bodies as well, I'm completely lost, I have no idea of who they'll be, I just fell in love with the sculpts haha we have plenty of time to think about it
@Thymeseer That's awesome that you have a plan for them, it sounds amazing! I've loved Saint ever since I discovered BJD, so yeah when he went on sale (with the possibility of discontinuation) I knew I had to get him. I don't normally shell my dolls as I see them more as models for my clothing/accessories that I make for them. But I did get Khan to use as a set with my Saint. I loved how they looked together in some of the sculpt promo pics on Dollshe's website; they had a gray skin pair of them to show the difference between their body types. Not sure if I'll think of them as BFFs or as boyfriends, but either way, I can't wait to see them together!
That's a bummer, but can't be helped. Health and safety is way more important. I just got an email from Dollshe yesterday saying that my doll should ship EMS on Monday, but I replied saying it would be understandable if they need to hold him a bit longer due to the current situation.
Four out of twelve payments done for Khan! I'm eyeing so much stuff for him and I wanna start buying it, like, right now even though I know he won't be home anytime soon
I'm in the same boat for my two Dollshe boys! I just finished the last layaway last month and now I want to buy all the things! We will see how long I can hold out
I'm hopefully gonna get my current layaways all squared away this weekend. . . then I will likely pop a classic Arsene on layaway and be done with the dollshe buying for the year. . . (or at least for the next few months >__>) THEN I can start buying things for the new ones. He'll need a piano of course. . and the big ones will likely need a nice sofa. All my stuff is Fashion/MSD sized T__T.
3 out of 7 payments complete on my Diana! I also just messaged BJDivas about a 6 month layaway for a 18M classic Aramis in Oriental on the mystic body as he works perfectly for my oldest OC.
Can't believe I'll be coming up on a year here in a couple of weeks or so. I keep hoping since most of the March 2019 orders seem to be filled that mine might be soon but that seems to good to be true, especially considering that the order that they're filled in is so seemingly random. I think I'm one of the only Adonis orders too. Why is waiting so rough?
It's my year wait anniversary today. ...yay. I want to order another doll but I haven't even gotten the first one or the 2nd so it seems foolish to go for a third... Maybe I'll get the courage up to send them another email and see what they think of my hesitation. I'm sticking with my guess that they process by sculpts since all the Dianas up to a certain order date all went out, and a few others have been going out together too.
Okay, so I got all my other layaways paid for, and thus I just added myself to the list again for a ten month layaway for a classic Arsene. I'm almost at a year for the first one on my list now (that being fashion Amanda). Let's see how much longer I have to wait to see any of my dolls. I think that's pretty much all the Dollshe dolls I need for a while now. Apparently the classic minis are going up for order again. . . .thank goodness I don't need one.
4 months waiting, time sure flies. I try not to think about it except when I have to pay my layaway XD Glad I only like 2 Dollshe dolls, and considering I already ordered one of them, will just have to find my 2nd one probably on the market
WAY sooner than I expected, my Rey Lewis Fashion Maxi arrived in the mail yesterday! I was a little freaked out about the delivery though, because the postman insisted I sign for it in person, and I had not gotten face to face with someone in well over a month due to the pandemic. I had a mask leftover from when I mow the lawn (I have grass pollen allergies), so I put that on just in case. Then I washed my hands really well after touching the keypad. Unfortunately after all that, I was feeling way too anxious and emotionally drained to actually open the box.
I told the delivery person to sign for me (through a glass door) a month ago. He was very willing. You are protecting them too.
I asked if he could sign for me or if there was any other way to handle it other than opening the door. (We have a glass storm door, so I was able to talk to him with that closed.) He told me no. So I put on the mask first.
Well, I purchased another Dollshe, this time being a Classic Maxi Diana. IMO I think she is the prettiest Dollshe female sculpt out there! I ordered her March 16th, so who knows how long it will take! My Arsene only took 8 1/2 months. Here’s hoping!
I'm wondering if there's a way to email dollshe and check up on an order placed through BJDivas? I know that they're moving and all that other stuff, so I don't want to bother them with asking them to make contact. -__- I'm just really wanting my fashion Aramis and Arsene boys......
Please let us know if you find out a way to do this. I wish I could check on my orders but I ordered through bjdivas too.
When I checked on my last order, I asked divas for the order #, as dollshe will need it. They were more than willing to give it to me and I forwarded the number to dollshe. Since it's a bulk order, you need to give as much specific detail about your order From divas' facebook, they've gotten moved and are mostly in the settling, unpacking, and such phase and a bit behind on responses
Just ordered a Diana fashion maxi 38cm - my first Dollshe! I couldn't resist her or the price, but am very nervous about the wait time . Thankfully I have other dollies to keep me entertained. I was thrilled to see pictures of a Diana fitting in nicely with Iplehouse FID and MInifee.
wooo congrats! I didn’t even realize he was taking orders for fashion Diana again! :O I don’t even collect that size, but I’m obsessed with Diana so it still tempts me
So ..... I caved in, again. Amanda Fashion Maxi (December), than again Amanda... this time Classic Maxi (February).... and now Diana Fashion Maxi. It's official, I have no spine. ... damn those never-ending sales and gazillion extra parts
You’re not alone in this. I got hooked and PIF for a maxi Diana, put a maxi Arsene on layaway and then PIF for an Angela. In TWO MONTHS. I still want to pull the trigger on an Owen. SMH!
As someone who just received the first of SIX Dollshe dolls on layaway, this last one taking 13 months, they are totally worth it! as long as you can withstand the wait... P.S.im a survivor of multiple waits since 2011 and never been disappointed. Once I came to terms with the interminable wait as a fact of life on obtaining these treasures. the best advice I can give is to try and forget about them, at least after first few weeks post purchase high, and to try to not have any expectations as to when the doll will reach you. that kept my peace of mind , mostly. except for when I get the shipping notice: then it’s the longest 3-5 days ever!
Heya! New here, but I just put both Arsene and Saint on Layaway. Very excited for both of them as I really love both sculpts. Trying to mentally prepare for the impending excessive wait.
Welcome to BJD Purgatory. Personally, I've found that working on projects unrelated to the doll helps with the wait. (Currently I'm making absurdly poofy harem pants, which I will wear as pajamas.) Then again, I've only been waiting 3 and a half months. I might find my patience wearing thin in another few months.
That's really dangerous to say!!! hahaha you've pretty much convinced me to think about getting more dolls! But you also gave me some peace of mind, it's so hard to try to forget about these dolls specially if they're the only ones you're waiting for!! In my mind they'll take over three years so if they arrive sooner it'll be a really happy surprise, BJDivas already told me they're taking over a year at the moment though. Share pictures of the doll that arrived please!! Welcome to hell! hahaha I'm excited to see that you're waiting for the same dolls as me! They're so freaking gorgeous, i'm still so excited to get them, I'm almost done with my Arsene's layaway and just started Saint, what size are yours??
Yes they’re beautiful! And both boys are so different. I got them both in Maxi/SD Wanted to get in on the sale before it ends. XD
i bought them for the sale too but they never seem to stop!! hahahaha awwwh mine are SD too, our orders are the same, that's funny!
One year and 3 months waiting for my Grant does it take longer if you ordered from BJDivas? I don't want to bother them since they just moved and there's a pandemic rn but I got my other doll in just 4mos when I ordered from Dollshe last time, or is that just some wonderdul stroke of luck? About to finish my layaway for Amanda too. Anyone else ordered anything from the Dollshe site? How was it?
@Yangire811 Dollshe can be pretty inconsistent, some do arrive quickly but most don’t. I’m at month 14 for my current wait and my last took 14 as well
hey everybody! i guess i'll be joining this waiting room for a (not so) little while! i tried my best to resist temptation, but in a moment of weakness i placed an order for a fashion maxi aramis on the pose + body! he'll be my first dollshe doll, and i'm not excited for the wait, but very excited for the doll!
...I mean, I've been waiting for about twenty months by now. I think I will ask BJDivas if they have an order number I can use to bug Dollshe directly -- I doubt I'll receive my girl until the pandemic makes postage easier again, but I would like to know if she even exists, you know?
@c4tbus I had to look, I forgot! XD Grant Phillipe. But It's the body I want, not the head (which is why I didn't remember who it was). The head waiting for it I've had for... almost a year. You guys, I haven't even waited a year for this!! I can't believe it. I convinced myself it would be two years at least. I don't know what to do with myself.
*sidles in, gets comfy* I bought one of the Amanda Beauty special packages on deep discount. I'm gonna be here a while.
Guess I’ll join in the fun here, maybe it’ll help with the waiting. Just ordered an Adonis on the mystic body and I’m super excited to get him... someday. Lol I knew dollshe wait times were long before I ordered but reading back over this thread a bit, holy cow. Hope I can be as patient as some of you have been.
Hey everyone! It's my first time here, I just finished paying off my Dollshe Saint through a 12-month layaway with BJDivas! I guess it's another 12-month wait for me from here on out...
I'm definitely celebrating when he gets here! The last time I ordered a Dollshe doll (not counting the one Hound head that took two months) it was a 14 month wait....I was sort of expecting longer this time. Now I'm freaking out. I hope the head fits. I hope it looks good!! This was scary-perfect timing though. I had been good at not thinking about the doll this whole time, but I literally just got re-obsessed with this character last week. I got the shipping notice email while re-reading one of the comics.
Hey folks! Just popping in to see if anyone had emailed BJDivas recently? I got their auto reply saying not to send multiple messages but it's been a week since I sent an email regarding what I think is an error in a PayPal Invoice for my last Dollshe layaway and I'm getting a bit nervous.
Wow....can I say that Dollshe responding to emails is rather shockingly fast. That said, emailed about my orders and looks like I'm joining that in-between limbo of being told 'We'll ship them to your dealer mid-May' and it not actually happening xD
I don't know if they're looking that often into emails. On their Instagram story, they were asking to limit contact to them to Facebook and one other (god help me I can't remember). They respond decently with their Messenger account. Just understand it might be a day or so.
Thanks! I didn't see that story, but IG has been weird with my feed lately (I know, what a shock for IG) I'll try reaching out another way. I don't mind a delay, I know the world is a mess right now, but I also want them to get paid (correctly) and in a timely manner. Hopefully another line of communication works better.
The notice was to contact them through email or facebook and not to on instagram. They're def still taking emails, they're just a bit behind
Thanks @NamelessPierrot I saw that as well once I went to their IG page. I think I'm going to wait another week before I try reaching out again.
They're just really behind due to the move and catching up from that it seems. I put in my request to set up layaway for my Arsene on the 11th and they just today got the invoice set up. I'm sure they'll get to you soon.
There was a post on their Facebook about Paypal continuing to send automatic layaway invoices to people who had already paid theirs off, if that's the error you're referring to. They are already aware and are trying to correct it.
