Hither & Thither I hope these are helpful! Let me know if you need any others. I really like the fit actually and am considering keeping my girls heads swapped!
I'm glad it worked ok! I tried to just post a couple here but I messed it up somehow... I was pleasantly surprised myself!
@sahoma She's absolutely beautiful! I received mine back from getting a new face up today: 20220708_141821 by OneEyed Juliet, en Flickr
Pull the elastic up and clamp above the neck opening. Then remove the S hook. Change heads and there you go. The trick is being physically able to pull the elastic up far enough to clamp and leave space for the S hook. Good luck!
So nice to see such lovely Dianas ....as my wait continues...two years and four months...and counting...
@Girrl - Oh dear...you too? I do hope "someday" she will ship and your order also. I ordered mine through BJDivas....and they don't even work with Dollshe anymore...though they told me my order was still good and in process. So time will tell. I expected it to take over a year....but not over two years! Not for a sculpt that already exists.
oh man, same exact story for me. I'm really curious about the number of dolls that are actually being cast each month. You'd think he'd want to fill long outstanding orders as quickly as possible so he has less justifiably frustrated/angry/distressed people warning potential customers away from his business Fingers crossed that we get our dolls soon, I'd so much rather be discussing stuff like where to find shoes that fit, or what shops have the cutest clothes that fit these girls
Oh so true! He should be pumping out the dolls that just need casting for heaven's sake! What's the LONG hold up for that? It seems like our orders would be the easiest to get out of the way. Why oh why indeed! And yes...I'd much rather be finding wigs and eyes and shoes for Diana... My fingers are crossed...that we both recieve our dolls....sooner rather than later!
Well, it took 3 years and a buttload of shenanigans but I finally got my Dollshe girls over the last couple months! Because of all the problems, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the dolls, but they are beautiful. It makes me so sad because I want more Dollshe dolls, but the hassle is just too much. I got my Erica Snow head through BJDivas, so yes, Dollshe is still shipping to them, for anyone concerned. I have one last Dollshe order through them (a King Corey) and I'm hoping he'll show up this year but my hopes are totally ughhh. My Amanda Beauty and Ausley Love were a re-order because my original order through BJDivas was a disaster (it was all just crazy) and then my direct re-order with Dollshe only worked because I used Paypal to force them to give me dolls or give me money back (Also all crazy). Anyway, I have not painted the ladies yet, but they have eyes and wigs now at least! Slowly figuring out what I want to do with them. Oh, my Erica Snow is on a Dollstown 18yr body. She and Ausley have the TEENIEST heads I have ever seen, lol and the Dollshe body has beautiful but HUGE feet. They are like the same size as the Rhythmos boy feet, which were giants, haha. Amanda: Spoiler Ausley: Erica:
Hnng! Your Erica is gorgeous! I actually ordered a complete Erica Snow, and a Diana head. I couldn't make up my mind between the 2 sculpts, and not really into the Diana body, so it seemed like the best way to get the doll I finally decide I want (and I had planned to maybe get a Dollstown body for the head that doesn't get the 26F body) but I suppose that's all pie in the sky planning until I actually have the resin I ordered in hand
ha! Twin orders! I'm also planning a dollstown body for the second head, when and if I receive the dollshe order <_<
@karlyl - First congratulations on finally getting your dolls! They look lovely! You have a nice variety of wigs for them too! Secondly, thanks for letting us know that indeed BJDivas are still shipping Dollshe orders. It's nice to have that confirmed by someone who actually got something from them! Hopefully your King Corey will ship soon too!
@Girrl Thank you! Erica was the one I've had long enough to plan out her look totally haha, just have to finish her. She felt like she needed a very bold look. I haven't seen as many Erica's out there, so I'm glad I managed to actually get her lol. And yeah I feel you -- I got the Erica Snow head because I had seen someone with their Amanda head on a Dollstown body and I loooove DT bodies (I have an 18yr old boy and an elf body for a Dollclans Vezeto and a BlackCherryDolls Xiao Yu, respectively). I wasn't a fan of the Diana body so I'm excited to see her on a DT body when she manages to get here! I know how aggravating this wait is, so fingers crossed for you! @luluna Thank you!! And yeah always glad to share info, I know how hard it has been to wait with no real deadline in sight. Couple more Erica pics, can see her proportions to the Dollstown body a bit more. Her head is very tiny, it's going to make you think that she's too small for a 70 cm ish body but as soon as I put a wig on her, it suddenly works. It's some weird magic, lol. Spoiler
I just ordered Erica Snow size 65 cm! Two more years wait, at least. I just got my Diana + pose oriental skin home four days ago! Love that girl, but have problem with a very kicky bust. How do yo make her stop glide? I going to buy moldskin and maby wire her , but I do not think it helps?
Doing my best to slowly get my Erica Snow on the Dollstown body finished! She has a face, yay! Now, clothes, the thing none of my dolls have at the moment, lol. Spoiler
I have not been up on the DoA board in ages - seems as if life has gotten in the way. Dollshe makes my favorite dolls and it is lovely to see some new ones on their site.
Finally got my Dollstown 17 Vision body for my Dollshe Erica Snow. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. The proportions are beautiful. She finally feels complete after a 6+ years as a floating head. I have purchased a Dollshe Diana 16f body. Would anyone know a compatible heel feet by chance?
I've managed to acquire a Dollshe body but it came with no silicone kips -- will filling in the holes with hot glue be a suitable substitute or are there any other recommendations?
I haven't tried it yet, but a few people have recommended using silicone sealant to suede dolls in general.
I'm going to echo @ElizabethStiles and suggest silicone sealant - clear aquarium caulking specifically - which I have used to suede a couple dolls. Mostly I use it in place of silicone wigcaps to keep slippery wigs in place (thick ring around the headcap). I've had issues with it peeling up when spread in a thin layer over large joints, but that shouldn't be an issue with replacing the silicone kips in a DollShe body
Hiya, wanted to given an update! The silicone sealant worked out well. The smell was gone after leaving it alone overnight. It was definitely easier to manage after curing than hot glue would have been. Meet Ofelia! She's a series of firsts for me -- first time stringing, first time body blushing, first face up. While these aren't her final eyes (the only spare I have don't fit quiiiite right into the wells...) or wig, and I need to finish the manicure on her hands and feet (I got impatient once this quick wig fix arrived) and I'm still waiting on eyelashes too, I think all the work I've put into her has made me understand the addiction now. Apologies for the crappy phone pics, but I'm so excited to finally have her together after seeing the box of doll parts week after week. Also -- it's incredible what a difference body blushing makes, even if the finish is a bit fragile. Really happy about this head-first foray into customizing! Spoiler
Congrats on getting your girl put together, Momotion! My Ausley Love is finally coming together, yay! Finished her faceup, finally found a pair of eyes I liked (I went through 4 pairs of eyes before deciding on these) and got a wig that felt right for her. Just need to do her outfit and body blushing, etc and then...I may be able to come up with a name lol. Spoiler
This is very helpful, I have two DollShe bodies where some of the kips are worn off. I assume there is no way to do it on a strung doll, you have to unstring it? Thank you!
Beautiful Ausleys! I wish she wasn't too big for me (apparently I can't handle anything over 57cm lol). I love her unique and natural face a lot, though!
Maybe you could try hybriding? It worked for me. I have hybrided mine on an Ariadoll body and put on my Kdoll Kasis head on the Dollshe body. I'm very happy with both hybrids. She only needs a name now... by blablette1, sur Flickr
@Blablette - Thank you for the idea! I don't mind hybriding so I'll keep that in mind! Your Ausley looks lovely - I like the contrast between the pale skin and very dark hair.
She has a narrow enough head that she doesn't look bad on smaller bodies definitely. I haven't really tried my Ausley head on smaller bodies yet, but it seems like she's one of the better ones for hybriding smaller.
Thank you @StellaMarigold I'm really happy about how she turned out. She was supposed to be a red head but she decided she wanted to go darker.^_^ Indeed, @TatterPunk , she looks great with a smaller body than the Dollshe one.
I’ve also done the original tiny Ausley head on withdoll’s ~57cm body, and an Amanda on sooms new supergem body (~58), and had decent results! They made the original heads really small, so they fit a surprising number of bodies!! Think it really depends on the outfit. Anything too tight or tailored is gonna be a no go.I just got a bunch of clothes in from Sartoriaj for my girls, and I can see how they work on my Dollshe girl tonight.
So the bottoms (which have stretch) fit with careful maneuvering. The top was a no go in my opinion. Maybe if someone fiddled with it more. I have the medium bust on my girl but I felt it was less the chest that was the problem and more her shoulders. Took pictures of front and back. Link
Okay I tried an outfit that was sort of the opposite of the first (Loose top and more structured skirt), and the top fit pretty well, and the skirt wasn't a bad fit but it wouldn't zip all the way. I don't have any of the more modern clothes to try unfortunately. Link
I have a Dollshe 26F with petite bust and Sartoriaj historical type dresses (corseted tops and fluffy skirts) fit this doll well. What is the bust type of the body @kagami?
Ahh I have her on small bust so thank you for this info! Thank you for these images too! It's super useful to see how it fits. The dress looks so good.. Unfortunate about the bust size
And here's a photo of the 26F petite bust wearing a Sartoriaj dress. The waist of the skirt is a little tight but it's elastic and not TOO tight. Bodice fits great.
Was this purchased off Etsy back when Jay used to make sizes for SID/Dollshe girls or recently? Cause my understanding is they only make clothes for their own dolls now, but if they still make different sizes that'd be exciting! I thought the Etsy shop was closed.
I am not the first owner but I THINK this was purchased from their store in the last 1-2 years and is in that one size they make. The back of the bodice is entirely laced, and the skirt has an elastic closure, so it's pretty generous. There is a part where the skirt gapes a bit because her waist is larger than intended but it's covered by the overdress: https://www.flickr.com/photos/polyhex/52568336370/
This is an Iplehouse outfit (minus the red robe) and fits my Dollshe girl with the petite bust very well. Miss Snow by luluna33, on Flickr
Ah okay thanks! I was curious cause I have some older stuff from when Jay made other sizes and thought I recognized the dress. I love the dress, and it looks great on your girl, I'm jealous!
I have a dollshe Diana 16F classic maxi (61cms) I've misplaced her hand/wrist S hooks. Has anyone got any idea of what size I need to replace them please? Thanks in advance!
