Dollshe Discussion - Part Fourteen

Greetings, I just made an order. Maybe the gods will be merciful?

 

I have some questions about the larger-sized heads that were available for Amanda and Ausley at one point. Are they still available? If a 26F head is ordered now, is it the older, smaller size, or is it the newer, larger size? Would the larger sized heads still fit the old bodies? Have any of the larger sized heads been made yet, and does anyone have them yet?

I'd love to order the larger size Amanda and Ausley heads, but am not sure from the website if I'd be ordering the larger or smaller size if I put in an order for a head now. Also, if none of them have been produced, the wait time might be daunting. I have the same concerns about the Classic Mini and Fashion Mini sizes. They really are appealing.

 

I think the biggest ones available are the same as the originals, and it's just the three smaller sizes that are all the new ones. But someone may need to correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I ordered a Classic Mini in the first offering of them (it'll be 6 months at the end of October/beginning of November). I am still waiting for any sort of progress update or whatnot. I honestly don't expect to hear anything for a while yet because Dollshe. I'm praying regularly to the doll gods to NOT join the 1-year Dollshe club for this boy.

 

Bjdiva's says their order is coming in on saturday/monday if anybody wants to claim what is unclaimed? I know they have fashions coming in, unsure about full-sized.

 

It's good to hear that Dollshe is getting orders out. Hope springs eternal that I'll get a shipping notice in a reasonably soon time to say my boy is on his way.

 

How do you find out what stock they are getting and/or make a claim?

 

Messaged them on facebook, they updated me. I messaged them about their wait period and they said they had some unclaimed so I claimed their 44cm rey lewis

@BJDivas is usually around in this thread (unless the thread randomly dropped them *rolls eyes*). As much as my wallet would hate me like burning to say so, I bet some of us would be interested in "orphaned" dolls....

BJDivas will post 'in stock' dolls on their site. I found my fashion Arsene that way & a doll buddy bought the big version.

Yeah, the perpetual problem/temptation of available/in-stock dolls. Do I be the responsible adult and NOT spend or do I be the resin addict and get my fix?

I believe all the girls Amanda, Erica and Ausley now have new bigger heads in all the sizes. When Dollshe announced the bigger heads he didn't mention anything that the change would be limited only for the smaller dolls. Also, he then created the new EN and SA heads and all the heads including OE head have been modified to have new eye and internal structure. All the girls are now being sold with OE head + EN head + SA head and those are the new modified ones. The body is still the same as before so the heads are the only thing being changed.

The heads are so new that no one has them yet and knowing Dollshe's production times for completely new items it'll be a long time before anyone will get them. I have Fashion Amanda and Erica on order with the new heads myself and waiting patiently to get them home.

may I ask which resin colour match (or close to) luts ns, is it the pure fresh or oriental.
how about luts real skin brown, is it oriental or cooper oriental?

AnnieStar, thank you for the information! That's very helpful. I really like the idea of a larger head size. Not sure if I should wait until the new heads are actually produced before I order, or save up to order them now. Decisions, decisions.

 

Someone else will have to answer about luts ns, but I have luts real skin brown and it is not similar to oriental nor copper oriental. Luts real skin brown is an actual brown colour, oriental and copper oriental are not. Hope this helps.

Hi, just a clarification about the "unclaimed" dolls we have incoming: these are dolls we ordered specifically for our stock. We did wait a long time for some of them but when they arrive we'll put them up on our website for sale.

Is he Orjean? And did you add the horn too? He looks so cool. May I ask who made the hands and do you like them? I've been wanting bj hands for when I have my doll, but I'm still unsure where you get em or which is a better brand for the size doll I plan on getting (dollshe Mystic and 28M in the 70cm size). He's somewhere in the Mystic proportion so I'm curious what those are. Thanks for your time and inspiration!

 

Thank you @Jaedalena. Yes he is Orijean and I added the horn and pointy ears, though you can't see those at this angle. Those are Doll Legend bj hands for 70cm and they are really nice. I think I have 6 pair of them, some in SD size too. I've head really good things about Soom bj hands but you have to put those together yourself, I don't think I'm up to that right now, plus they are more expensive. Granado bj hands are nice too, with thicker fingers though. I like the slender fingers of these, which is why I have so many pair.

 

Hi all. I've been away for a while for various reasons but I've been checking in lately and enjoying all the new dolly faces. And so comforted that some things never change with Dollshe. Sigh. I'm glad I don't have space for anymore dolls and no patience for another long wait - I've been in this hobby nearly a decade and 2 of those years were spent waiting for my Pure Body Bernard and Grown Berman.

But neither of them are getting any attention at the moment. I brought out my Old Hound body IM Hound (that was an uncharacteristically short wait). This poor lad hasn't liked any of the names I've tried on him. So here's Ol What's His Name, a technomage.

@SteamWitch Thanks for the reference. I'll definitely look into them. There's something really endearing about bjd hands that I can't seem to get away from. Not that I want to either lol, they really add a lot of character and emotion to dolls. I especially like the range of motion that I think your pair has with the extra joints in the hand. ^_^

Hello Dollshe BJD Lover
I'm having some trouble posing with my now 1 year old 18M Classic body from my Johnny Depp. If you lift the body on the larger lower torso so the upper part moves by itself forward... Or the lower legs "jump" by themselves backwards. My new 18M body delivered with a Bernard last week behaves significantly "tamer".
Has anyone found a way to bring more "peace" to the joints of an 18M?

The Mystic body, right? Did you get the pose+ version?

He might need some modding - elastic wants to take the way of least resistance and wants to go straight. Is there a part on to op that lower torso piece inside the body that guides the resin? Making it or adjusting it should solve the upper torso slipping part.
Try real suede first.

In the knees it is the same problem:though the sollution might be in the hip sockets or in the knees - or both. I am going to get 3 of these bodies, but I am still waiting...

Hello, both colors have their appeal! The vampire Khan or human version? When I think of vampires in Brooklyn - why not honey coccoa tan? Come the "catches" to the validity

 

Wires are inside with silicone at its tips, it's not risky and if you ask for solutions, this is one, my dolls are also expensive, Venitu in Cooper oriental as well and I didn't that because I don't think it need it if not it won't be problem. I'm sure other users will help you with other options

On Khan I pues I guess the most face I would use more would be the human one, in case of vampire I guess grey match better but you are right that cocoa is ok too, why not black vampires!?

 

Blade (of comic fame) is black. Technically, I believe he's a Damphir (1/2 vampire) though but whatever.

Wiring is not uncommon with dolls. Possibly if your boy is too "kicky" he's strung a bit too tight. You could try putting him in a fetal position and leaving him that way for a few weeks to stretch out the elastic a bit. Some have had success with this but I can't cite personal experience as I've never had to do that with a doll of mine.

Does anyone have recommendations for suits specifically made for the mystic body?

@Cyador Yeah I have loads of stuff from them, but none of it fits the mystic right. He's thinner and longer of limb than any of their models. It's workable for now, but I have to avoid showing how badly cut the suit looks on him. I think I'm gonna have to commission someone.

May I ask what type of wig you're using for him? A long time ago, I'd commissioned a short men's style wig from eclipse21, and it cost more than I like to admit I'd paid for a doll wig. But since eclipse21 is no longer doing commissions (or making wigs at all it seems, she appears to have just sorta disappeared), it's not like I could get a replacement one even if I wanted to pay with my other arm and leg , so I'm in need of other options.
