Dollshe Discussion - Part Fifteen

Nov 28, 2018

    1. Can anyone help? I’m looking for places to buy clothes for the 70cm dollshe male body. So far I am ordering iplehouse and dollmore, but the SD17 stuff on ebay looks a bit small. Looking for a jumpsuit in particular. Thanks

    2. @Shire13 congrats! Did you try to contact mr. Dollshe via email? He might be helpful: when I was looking for discontinurd Orijean faceplate he was so kind to sell me one!

    3. Julian to decorate the thread.

    5. @golo check out SartoriaJ. they actually sell through dollshe's website but shipping's cheaper to buy from their etsy store. you can also search ebay for terms like "SD17 70cm Uncle" for clothes and especially shoes. also alice's collections 70cm clothes fit dollshe's Pure and 32s bodies, idk what dollshe's current line is like but acbjd has a measurement rubric on all clothing. (however their girl stuff unfortunately doesn't fit any of dollshe's female bodies)

    6. @Zest thanks for the recs! I especially like SartoriaJ but they are all cool options. May you get some karma :)

    7. @golo - There's also Freedom Teller, though they are a little more on the haute couture side of things.

    8. @Quiet and Insane I was just looking at their shop, and certainly the quality looks amazing. I think if I bought one thing from there, i'd need the matching pants, scarf, bag and so on... very slippery slope. Thanks for the suggestion :D

    9. Although the summer heat has not abated, I thought to get a winter top for the cosy season coming up.

    10. @golo - I have one of their three-piece suits and it is the most amazing quality. :D I highly recommend them if you've got the money to spare (crappy conversion rates, bah!) Your Arsene is so cute. He'll be nice and cosy come winter, that's for sure!

    11. @Quiet and Insane it’s good hearing word of mouth feedback, I have one of their striped shirts in my wishlist now. They have such a sense of romance in their designs. And thanks! :) I hope I can resist wanting another dollshe mould.

    12. OMG!! :love All these photos are amazing, makes me want to consider getting one of these sculpts (my wallet thinks otherwise)

    13. @golo - They really do! Heh...when I first discovered DollShe it was a Saint that did me in...though I bought David first, then the Saint, and a Grant (and floating body) a couple of years later. Half of my big guys are DollShe...oops... :sweat

@amnesiaweeb - They're definitely worth the time and the money. Saving slowly for these guys (and gals) is never a bad thing.

    14. Dollshe does make very beautiful dolls. One of the first dolls I saw in person was a Saint and I thought he was gorgeous (and totally out of my teeny-tiny dolly budget). I own an Orjean and Saint now. Only the Orijean (Wu-Tyr) is in-house as I'm still waiting on my classic mini Saint in espresso ebony *sigh*. Every now and again the crazy idea to get one of the 1/4 sized boys rolls through my head but the wait times are killer. Unless, of course, I happen to come across one that speaks to me 2nd hand........

I'm both a little nervous and excited for DollNorth this year as last year someone had one of the 1/4 boys for sale in the MP there so it's possible that I might see one there again for sale. My wallet is glaring at me right now.

    15. @Quiet and Insane I recently noticed the adonis mould and it really is my cup of tea, amanda is also really nice too but i’ve barely gotten off the starting block with my new doll so those plans are far off into the future.

@Iron_Dog our wallets may give us the side eye, but the joy of shopping and getting parcels makes up for it :)

By the way, does anyone know of good 70cm doll stands? Saw some on ebay, they looked slightly small and also i’d prefer a fairly sturdy base to avoid toppling. Luts have some that are currently sold out. Thanks in advance.

    16. @golo I use this dollstand for my boys: Dollmore.net :: Everything for Doll & more
Average lifetime of this dollstand is 2 years, but they could be easily covered on photos, they're light and pretty helpful.

Also you might be interested in such type of dollstands (sorry for off-topis picture):
I have one - quite heavy but useful, and has special features for using on non-perfrct surfaces, check the photos.

    17. @golo - Adonis is really handsome. ;) They're both good idea for future. Enjoying the doll you have right now is the main part - figuring out clothing and wigs and building a character are some of the most fun parts that go into bonding with a new doll. :)
As for stands, I like the saddle stands from Ringdoll. Though they can be a little awkward when it comes to Dollshe...junk.

    18. @Rook_Sever oh that’s just what i’m looking for, thanks very much :) Your info has been very helpful. It’s a good size too the dollmore one.

@Quiet and Insane yes, i’m very happy to focus on the here and now! Appreciate the feedback on those stands, it’s good to know the various offerings. I like the slim mystic body silhouette and thought it would be interesting to pose it standing.

    20. Belated Valentine's Day photo of Uriah and his girlfriend. I think he's making her listen to a demo but trying to pretend he doesn't care what she thinks. :XD:

    21. Wow, she is really amazing. Great job : )

Hahaha, that's hilarious! She almost looks real...both of their eyes are amazing.

    22. Anyone else having trouble accessing Dollshe's site today? I want to check up on my order and this makes me a bit nervous x)

    23. I came here to ask the same. I have trouble to access the site since yesterday.

    24. Hi guys! We've received some questions about Dollshe's site and we've contacted Dollshe about it. We haven't heard back from Dollshe but we did talk to Fifth Motif, who has regular in person contact with Dollshe, and Mr. Cho believes that Dollshe forgot to renew their hosting. Apparently they've been moving offices.

    25. @Havra - Ahh they both look fantastic! I hope Uriah's demo is well-recieved ;)

    26. Thank you @BJDivas! I wouldn't have been too worried if I couldn't get the site to work - it's Dollshe, after all :) but it's good to have some explanation.

    27. Hi everyone, the site is working again. I just checked it out today.

    28. What's up guys, Salinger got eyebrows and a change of eye placement. :p he's waiting impatiently for some mannish clothing.

    29. @golo - I think he looks rather cute in pink. :)

    30. @Quiet and Insane I agree, there’s a beautiful pink loose jacket on freedom teller that i’m mulling over atm. I get paid on Friday :)

I apologise for talking so much, but wanted to share some clothing musings - Dollmore's glamor model sized shorts don't fit the mystic body at all, in case anyone was wondering. I also got a top from there which mostly fits although the armholes are quite tight.

    31. I have a question for you all.
I bought an Amanda Beauty in Strawberry Honey skin, and she arrived last April.
At the time I had concerns, because I seemed to be having an allergic reaction to her, (along with a few other concerns as she was my first BJD), it was suggested to me to wash her, and let her air out.
Well, it's been 10 months, and it's safe to say I still can't handle her without some sort of an allergic reaction.
I have two other dolls at this point that I have no problem with, (although they are relatively older).
I also have a "new" Dog head from Dragon's Shell Doll, which I again have had no problems with.
It leaves me wondering if maybe it has to do with the ingredients of Dollshe's special Honey skin resin?
Has anyone else experienced sensitivity with this specific resin type?
I've sadly given up hope on bonding with her at this point, but it would be nice to figure this out for future doll purchases.
It would suck to buy a new doll from another company and go through all of this again.
Thank you for your time. ^_^'

    32. I just love how his teeth turned out. Color is so colorful. :blush

    33. @Birdydown - that does sound like sensitivity to the honeyskin. It's a different resin mix plus UV protection and some Mr. Kim special sauce.
Do you have any Iplehouse glow resin? It feels and looks similar although not the same. I imagine it has the same ingredients to some degree.
It's not worth the illness hassle (I'm allergic to life in general some days) so I urge you to sell her and avoid that resin in the future.

      :pout:

    34. Thanks for your input. <3
I don't have any other "special" resin dolls to compare unfortunately/fortunately.
Hopefully I can avoid this happening again. :sweat

    35. @Birdydown I hope it all works out eventually!

Boring saturday night here, so I gave Salinger a haircut. I was deliberately going for nineties :D

    36. Thank you! :)

    37. Hi all, I couldn't access the Dollshe website. Does anyone have the same problem?

    38. Same here. It seems to be unavailable quite often.

    39. I see, so this is regularly happening for Dollshe website. The first time it happened to me was last Sunday. The site ain't still working!

    40. @Katushka_Nitok - Oh how dramatic! :D I love their body language! They're so well posed.

    41. The drama is strong, very well done; and their costumes are gorgeous.

    42. Quiet and Insane

Thank! They both tried to convey emotions! I rarely photograph in pairs, so I want to share such achievements ...

    43. Does anyone know if shoes for 28M Classic body type would fit on 18M Classic body?

    44. Definitely not. The classic 28M body has feet around 10 cm in length, and the Pure body (one of the classic 18M bodies, ask for the other bodies as I am unsure) has feet around 7 cm in length.

      • x 1
    45. I believe the one I ordered is 18M Classic Mystic Body. There is no stock of shoes for 18M Classic but there are shoes for 28M Classic. I thought I was almost taking my own risk to purchase the shoes for 28M Classic. Luckily I have asked. Thank you so much for the info.

    46. Mystic bodies have the 10cm feet.

    47. @SteamWitch do you sew? The clothing looks amazing!

I sewed the top and bottoms here and i've been learning since the doll arrived. It's good to have options outside of the existing shops, and I like the idea of picking colours and the like.

    48. Yeah, I sew a lot of my dolls stuff, been sewing for more years than I'd like to admit, started with Barbie clothes but sewing for these big guys is easy in comparison.

    49. SteamWitch, amazing what incredible fantasy images create from this mold!

    50. Thanks, I will order the shoes for 28M Classic to put on my 18M Mystic body. I hope they will fit!

    51. Ah the Mystic. I still see that as a new body as opposed to one of the classic older ones. I can't help you there.

    52. When we are on the topic of shoes, where do you buy shoes for your Dollshe big boys? I wasn't really able to find many shoes which would fit the 28M body.

    53. Most of mine are from Dollmore, glamor model size.

    54. I assume that they will fit for both sizes because the feet length and wide of both body are so close.

      28M Classic
      Foot length 105 mm
      Foot width 37 mm

      18M Classic Mystic
      Foot length 100 mm
      Foot width 38 mm

    55. I order directly from Dollshe website. They sell many shoes for 28M, but none for 18M
