    2. Does anyone know the measurements of Arsene? I've been looking all over the website for it but can't find them anywhere. After letting go of Grant I'm considering jumping into the fashion size again and getting Arsene with an extra Rey head but I want to see what the clothes options are before I make my final decision.

@kerri his skin color is so beautiful in this photo!

    3. @AaloriRian These are converted to inches and compared to Tonner Matt measurements. Pants work really well.

    4. @Richie thank you! I don't know where I was looking but I couldn't find them anywhere! :doh

    5. @AaloriRian Let's just say one can save a lot of data over a one year of waiting.:nowords:

    6. Ah! That's great. I was also looking for that and couldn't find it, so starting taking measurements myself. Very handy. My chap is in dire need of clothes. I have brief bouts of searching obsessively for clothes for each of my odd-sized dolls, find nothing, get jaded, and move onto the next one on the list. Da capo ad infinitum  I've just given up on my Chicline Rou again, so perhaps it's my Arsene's turn to be obsessed over again.

    7. I ordered my Bermann in October, and I just broke down and bought an EN head for him. I tried to resist for months but he has such a beautiful serene expression. I have no idea when my Bermann will ship, and his second head will take even longer after I imagine. XD

    8. I do the same. I spent 3 hours just looking at stuff and making a spreadsheet of various doll measurements last night :...(
Fortunately I'm looking for a contemporary style, I don't know what I would do if I was searching for period pieces.

@Richie oh my goodness, have you been waiting a year for Arsene? I was just shy of it with Grant and I think that's why I never took to him although he was absolutely beautiful.

    9. And I am currently making a spreadsheet of possible bodies that would fit my Saint's existing clothes, as I am doing it the other way round this time and replacing him and his body with something that can actually stand by itself but fits the clothes I already have. It's taken me ten, hard years to collect them and I am not about to give them up without a fight!

It can get a bit obsessive, this hobby.

      • x 1
    10. @AaloriRian I ordered Arsene March 6,2016 and he arrived March 21,2017. I had already noted the difference between 28M and Tonner size because of my Rey Lewis. When I saw the 18F measurements, I knew it would be very close to Tonner. Most pants I have are a very good fit, even with the Dollshe Bulge. Shirts can fit well too depending on the cut/style. Shoes are a no go unfortunately.
btw If you do an eBay search for Pevensie you will see a some really nice guy shoes and not too expensive. They make some for 17" but too small for Dollshe and some for the next size up from Dollshe, maybe aGatti guy size. I hope the ones I have will be a better fit on Khan when he gets here. They have really great styles I must say.

An idle mind and a year's time does no good.

    11. Here are a few quick pics. The pants ride up because of the crotch stand, but the length really is perfect.

      ARSENE CLOTHED

    12. Those bits are a great fit. Where is the shirt from and do they do it in white? That's a nice cut and finish, which seems to be not such a thing for fashion dolls as I would like.

And are you saying that shoes for Peter Pevensie size fit Arsene? That would be useful.

    13. @MadamMauMau well at least we're not alone in the madness.

@Richie thank you for all the info! That outfit has a great fit, i'll definitely be looking into more Tonner clothes. I think I have an outfit somewhere that I bought for Grant so I may be able to sew something with similar measurements to pass the wait.

    14. @MadamMauMau The blue shirt is from a Tonner outfit I got second hand. It is not tagged Tonner though. FYI, jacket sleeves can be very tight with a long sleeve shirt underneath on Arsene.

Pevensie size is a liitle bit big. or maybe not. It's real close. 28M wears socks comfortably in them. They should suit Khan perfectly. They make Matt size too but they're mm too small for Arsene. Also do a search for 1/4 msd shoes on eBay and look for Arsene's dress shoes he is wearing. They come in black or white. There are brown or black oxfords also. They fit 28M perfectly, a little big on Arsene. Sometimes there's two fer's!

Also: The "P" shoes are very well made and attractive. I would wear them myself.

    15. Are these the shoes in the he-meife shop on eBay? I have been bothering them for shoe sizes and becoming rather self conscious about keep doing it and not buying anything! So, if you have any measurements, or stuff that fits either 28M or Arsene, spill the beans. I still need shoes for both.

So, the ones I know the size of are these, which are 6.5x2.5cm exterior, which isn't even going to fit Arsene.
And these, which are 7.2x2.6cm exterior, which should fit either.

Now, there seem to be those boots also in the Pevensie section. I might ask what size they are. In fact, I might ask if they can put exterior sizes on all their listings, as it would really help us identify which are going to fit and which are not. They are very nice shoes.

ETA: OK. I have just messaged them to ask if they would put sizes on all their listings. That would be very helpful. If not, we will have to keep bothering them to get the tape measure out and build up a list here of the responses. And perhaps the short boots I have asked specifically for might fit either of my titchy chaps. Let's see.

    16. @MadamMauMau Here's some quick pics of "P" shoes on the 28M foot. AS I said, they go on comfortably with socks on. I'd say there close to the perfect size, just a little 'roomy" inside, like maybe for a meatier foot.
Arsene's shoes are <M-Style>DB-043 on Ebay. Tight fit on 28M but perfect size. I think they work well on Arsene too. IMG_20170609_122658

    17. Hello there, i have just ordered my first Dollshe, an Erica and was wondering about eyes size. I would really prefer an realistic eye so was thinking of going with a 6mm but what iris size would be good... 3mm or 3.5mm?
Any help or advice would be wonderful. Also i have done some research on Flickr etc but not many people mention what eye size their girls are wearing :)

      • x 1
    18. You have become my go-to for Fashion shoes! Thanks for that. I have messaged that seller above about other shoe sizes and got no response. I suspect they are sick of me now!

@Dove, the boys look most realistic with irises around 2.5mm, so I suspect the girls wear even smaller than that. But wait and see from someone who actually has one and knows these things.

    19. @MadamMauMau Sharing is caring!

@Dove Rey and Erica wear 6mm/2.5mm iris eyes. So Does Arsene but there's gaping at the corners. Might bother some. Ancient Tales on Etsy is having a little sale on them. They're very clear and realistic. Love em'.

    20. While the thread is on the subject of eyes, I'm gonna ask...does anyone know the best eye size for fashion sized David?

Also, does anyone know the best place to find wigs for the fashioned size boys?

      Thanks!

    21. Thank you MadamMauMau!
Richie, would you have any pictures of Erica wearing that size of eye?
      Thanks both!

    22. Oh she looks great with those! Hard to imagine just how small they must be.

    23. I forgot I would have to look for tiny eyes again :doh I need to keep my eyes peeled for EnsoEyes to have some more or perhaps start trying to make my own again.

Now I'm torn between the Arsene body or perhaps going with the Mystic body...I like them both. I just don't know, do I go for the more developed ab muscles and width of the shoulders of the Mystic body or the slenderness of Arsene? I don't really have a character in mind for this guy so it's making it harder to finalize decisions. Has anyone seen the mystic in fashion size yet?

      • x 1
    24. I am really enjoying the Arsene body in fashion size, if that helps. The engineering is as good as I would want it and it is a nice shape. I find the Mystic shoulders to be too broad and high. But, personal preference. I don't think anyone has received a fashion Mystic yet, as the full sized have only recently started to be sent out.

    25. Ok, thats good to know. I think it's a safer bet to go with the Arsene body. I like both of them but at least I know the Arsene one is finished. Who knows what's going on with the fashion mystic. Though with Dollshe even though Arsene is finished my order still may not show up for a year XD

    26. Who knows?! After vowing I was out of this game, I am ordering a Grown Saint head (full sized). And then I will forget about it! Only way to do it.

      • x 1
    27. I'm so bad at that T__T I can usually make it 3-5 months but after that I start getting antsy which is ridiculous of me in this hobby but I can't help it.

    28. Well after being out of the loop for a few years I come back to find dollshe has released a new Bermann... IN MINI. This was my shortest decision period so far lol, I ended up ordering an en Bermann on mystic pose in copper oriental, and a pale oe head with plans to maybe make a body for the pale head.

I'm still agonising over the color for the full doll though.. my first bjd was a tan hound and I loved that shade so much, does anyone know which current color is closest to the old tan dollshes? Its so hard to tell with photos, sometimes owner pics make pale tan look most similar, other times copper oriental. Though I suspect pale tan is darker, and copper oriental not dark enough.

    29. @crowtree - you're exactly right. I have 2 dolls in the old tan. I have a honey caramel & had a pale tan. neither are like the original tan. ditto copper oriental.

I went for honey peach for my mini Bman.

The copper o. is very nice. warm but not tan.
there was an almond oriental. I liked that. discontinued.

      *_*

    30. @petiteballerine, that's too bad, I wish copper oriental was a bit darker but may have to live with it since pale tan is a bit too much for my character.
In honey skin I'd probably get mango since it seems a bit richer, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of transparent resin from photos, it looks blurry. Is it more defined in person?

I may have given it a try if Almond oriental was still available though, that colour looks beautiful!

    31. @ crowtree - the honey resins are too beautiful for words. nothing blurry about them. easy to paint. easy to photo.
I've heard mango is gorgeous, but the early versions were too orange for my taste. I'd love to see good photos of it.
Here's strawberry, espresso ebony and peach L-R

the lighter the color, the more transparent the resin is. they look like real flesh, more organic than regular resins.
I like all kinds of resins, but honey is the bomb.

      ;)

see my sig for lots of honey resin doll photos on my bjd blog.

    32. Seconding the awesomeness of the honey resins. They are absolutely gorgeous and both look and feel so luxurious. :D

      • x 1
    33. I so wish i could see a honey skinned one in person before committing.

    34. @Dove - This is a long shot, but do you live near any major cities or areas that might have ways to meet up with other bjd owners? I guess even then it isn't guaranteed that someone would have a Dollshe doll or in a honey skin for that matter, but it might be worth something looking in to? Just throwing out ideas, sorry. XD

    35. I absolutely agree that the honey resin is awesome. It really does look like real skin! Also, very easy to paint because it's already quite toothy as is without any sealant.

@petiteballerine , I actually own a honey mango oriental fashion Arsene, so here you go! :kitty2
Although (or maybe because) it's photoshopped somewhat, this pic captures the color of mango oriental pretty accurately on my monitor. I can see how you can describe the color 'orange,' but I personally like the it a lot. I don't know if it's changed from the earlier versions, though. He was delivered to me this March. To me, the mango oriental looks like a healthy tan mixed with slight blushing.

Espresso ebony is really beautiful, too! I'm caving in....! :kitty1
Is it pitch black or very very very dark brown?

    36. @eldarling - oh wow! that's gorgeous. very different from the first year.

      your Arsene is so cool.

espresso ebony is super dark chocolate. warm. you want to eat it.
      :wiggle

    37. @AaloriRian Those should be #1. I don't think he ever officially showed #2.

    38. Thank you. I was very confused!

    39. There is a city close to me but very few people in the Bjd hobby and no Dollshes of honey skin. Thank you for the suggestion, it might be that i will have to bite the bullet at some point and see for myself.

    40. @petiteballerine thanks! I had hoped it would be pure black, since I'm planning to make him Anubis and wanted him to have that stone statuesque vibe. But when you put it that way, it just sounds so delicious! :chocoberry:chocoheart:truffle<3

@AaloriRian wheeeee! thank you and welcome back to the wonderful world of fashion size! I'm glad I could help! :dance I was still reserved about this size before I got my Arsene, but now I'm fully dedicated :whee:

    41. Expresso Ebony is the darkest shade of brown before true black that is still humanly possible like a "blue-black" person of color can look. It is beautiful.

    42. Has ANYONE received an 18M yet?
I ordered Aramis and Bernard in October and have been given three different expected shipping dates.
      I'm trying to stay positive.

    43. If you mean the Grown version then no. They are not done yet, I reckon. The original version on old bodies are shipping.

    44. Yeah, the Grown fashion

    45. We haven't even seen the heads for the Grown Bernard yet. I'm looking forward to that. What will it look like? As there seems to have been a little lull in casting, I wonder if Mr Kim is getting on with some sculpting. Time will tell..

    46. Didn't he say he would be taking casting orders again too?

    47. Thanks for your help :)
Iactually prefer a very solid/marble like skin tone for dolls that's why I shied away from honey skin.. it looks /too/ realistic. But after seeing so many honey skin photos the past days and finding some amazing pics of mango on flickr, and @eldarling's photo, I think I've been convinced! I'd love to go with mango, but sadly this little doll is already costing a small fortune and that would add another $70 to it, so I'll just have to be satisfied with copper oriental for now. Maybe my next dollshe can be honey.

      • x 1
    48. Copper is a delicious color as well. I love them both.

    49. It's very hard to shop for dolls that no one has their hands on yet, but does anyone have any leads on slim fitting jeans that might fit the 18m fashion mystic body based on measurements? Most of what I'm finding is a baggier fit.

    50. Other than the Dollshe girls, has anyone found another female sculpt that fits in scale?

    51. maybe Dollmore's?
      Comparison

      • x 1
    52. @eldarling What do you think of him compared to the FID? I was considering Claude or Rex but they seem so big still. I liked the two of them together in your photos but it is a little anime with the really big muscular guy paired with a slight boyish and short guy XD.

    53. True! It's anime AND cliche. :XD: Normally, I'm fan of neither, but since they are the only two I have in that (arguably) same scale, they only have each other!

FID and Arsene each have their good and bad points, and here's what they are for me:

      [FID]
      GOOD

      - smooth, thick, sturdy resin
      - dependable customer service in case of damage
      BAD
      - wobbly joints ALL OVER
      - big (matter of preference, but I would have liked a smaller size)
      - might look pinheaded depending on sculpt / person (Rex has one of the broadest faces among FID lineup)

      [Arsene]
      GOOD

      - the glorious honey skin
      - very realistic body sculpt and beautiful face
      - perfect size and weight
      BAD
      - lack of choice for ready-made clothes
      - rubber parts in the hip/shoulder joints keep falling out
      - honey skin is not as pleasant to touch as it seems

But in reality, I really like them equally and can't tell which one I perfer. I love diversity in my doll crew, and would like to have no more than one for each type of body. That's what I respect about Dollshe. Developing a new body type is a lot of dedication, yet he does it so often.

    54. Hi guys, I have a 26F Erica Snow and I was wondering if anyone had a comparison for size with the fashion 18M Arsene? I've fallen in love with his face and would like to replace my Batchix elf with him as the elf is just too tall in comparison to 26F.

    55. @eldarling Thank you for that comparison! Yeah, those rubber bits always seem to fall out, soon they will start to vanish too XD. You're right about Dollshe, he doesn't stop creating and that's what makes his company so great but the wait times so bad. Still, not many companies will continue to sculpt new bodies and then make them available in two different scales. Maybe they will get Iplehouse to do the same with their petition and we'll get the fashion EID.

@Nirvaria this isn't exactly what you're looking for but it may be a little helpful, Arsene in the middle and a 26F at the far right. Fashion MSD comparison

    56. Finally my Erica got some hair! I named her Lien, which means Lotus. Now she just needs shoes - if I ever find some that find her flat feet ^^

    57. So, are people asking Iple to make smaller dolls, in the fashion doll sort of range? That would be great! Well, providing they used the current FID heads but smaller, rather than turning to the JID etc children. Not that I need another range of dolls to covet... This is why I was rather relieved that the FIDs were such a weird size. I could resist.
