Dolls Party in LA 2015 Tea Party!

Aug 3, 2015

1. I just contacted Volks about the price tags on these beauties and they replied (super fast actually) that they'll be available at the event, for anyone curious!

2. These really are an amazing selection, but I think that I'm safe. I'd really love an Alice, but the charity auction is sure to go high. I could bet all my funds on her, but then miss out on the standards and/or one of the Best Selection and still not get her.

I can't remember, but is Lorina the same head mold as Alice in a different skin tone or is she slightly different like Lieselotte and Charlotte?

3. I THOUGHT that Yosd Lorina and Alice were the same sculpt with different skintones. I'm not sure about when they got translated to 'adult' sizes though.

4. Alice and Lorina are the same sculpt in different skintones. Charlotte and Lieselotte are completely different sculpts. :)

5. Gah, how do I decide which one to enter for when I love several of them! I'm safe from the main event dolls, though.

6. I wish I was as positive as you guys about this stuff...but if these are all the one-offs...Volks didn't really try, or didn't have an interest in investing in the doll department. There will be a large number of people at the Dolpa rest assured, outside the Tea Party and inside. So far we have 20 Best Selection dolls, which are available through lottery to all attendees, which will be quite a large number of people, probably at least 300-500 people I think (please correct that number if you think that estimate is wrong). So everyone's chances are significantly reduced for those dolls. Then we have the Tea Party offerings...6 dolls will be offered, all fairly popular sculpts yes, but a fair bit fewer than have been offered in the past, and for an event who's attendance will probably be 150-200 people. All the dolls present look as if they are the same dolls offered in the past, the best selection literally the exact same dolls that were left-over...or saved if you really think so, then the Tea Party one-offs maybe new runs of the same dolls offered before, but they are wearing the exact same outfits they once wore, literally as if someone just pulled them out of storage and put them on a newer doll.

For those interested in going to this event to see old friends or meet new one, this is the event for you! For those of you wanting to buy new clothes, okay...maybe, there is a pretty good chance you can at least get something! For those of us who were interested in getting dolls...don't hold your breath probably, you are looking at a very small percentage of chance at winning one of either sample group offered, and if you wanted Little Alice/Lorina or White Rabbit: an even smaller chance as I suspect these may be in the top 3 dolls wanted out of the group. Just good luck to whoever is going for dolls, I genuinely hope that those who apply for the lottery get a fair chance at something they really wanted!

7. Technically there could be a bit more of one-offs, I don't think Volks usually posts them all, but it's usually in Japan... so, I'm not sure but we may hope.

8. That's what I am hoping for too! It seems like such a small selection of one-offs ...

9. Well, so far I am safe. Shinku is tempting, but she isn't very high on the need list. The rest...well I already have on my need list... (oops) I would feel bad bidding on a one-off of Alice when there might be someone who doesn't have her yet, but darn is she gorgeous!

10. So far I am rather shocked at the low number of dolls available to be split between everyone. I'm both disappointed and relieved to think my wallet may be safe. XD

11. Thank you! Hm, I may be in trouble after all...

12. Alice is so pretty, and I just love her nail polish!

Shinku looks very sassy as the Cheshire Cat, and Suigintou looks fabulous too. Good luck to those who are trying for them!

Now for those of us who didn't even get into the Tea Party, do we get a chance to see these dolls, or will they be in the Tea Party room where we can't enter? I would love to just take pictures of them and gawk at them.

13. And yet, those are still better odds than a Japanese Dolpa. At a Japanese Dolpa you have 20-30 one off dolls for 10,000+ people with a stack of guidebooks. I mean a literal stack. And yes, you can enter multiple times, if you want to pay for another guidebook which are around 2,000 yen a piece. When Volks puts a Shinku on as a one off, they usually have to put 2 ballot boxes. Your chances of winning are literally next to nothing. And you know people are feverish (and just a bit crazy with too much cash) for Volks items, when Volks auctions of Dolpa posters that get bided up into the hundreds of dollars (for a poster) and some charity dolls reach $20,000. It's mind boggling. But to each their own happiness. So competing with a couple hundred people with chances that not everyone is going to enter for something or the item I might want? I'll take those odds.

But I get you. This is not the Dolpa we hoped for or one that we have gotten in the past. Maybe this is the end of the Golden Age of for us in the west as far as Dolpa was concerned? I think in the past events, we got lucky, very lucky, in that western Dolpas were mini versions of a Japanese Dolpa except we had much, much lower numbers which made it better for us even if they weren't dolls that you wanted. And I do wish a lot of this information was known months ahead of time so people could make a comfortable decision if they wanted to spend the money and make the commitment to come or not. But that wasn't the case. Also, there is something else to consider and that this is Hideyoshi Shigeta (GM of Volks USA) first run at a Dolpa. LA Dolpa 2007 was run by a different set of people who were likely more experienced. The NY Dolpas had a very seasoned Pat Henry and her team guiding those events. This is not the case here. I think this is Hideyoshi Shigeta's first run at a Dolpa. He managed the store closing and has brought Volks USA to other venues like IDEX but I suspect this is his first time organizing an actual Dolpa. Does this feel like a Dolpa to me? No. Not really. It feels more like Volks brought the store to the Marriott and added a few items like some previously released dolls and a few one offs. I'm also wondering if there isn't some big production issues that happened because at the last Dolpa in Kyoto, Volks mentioned having some problems. But alas, speculation. Like everyone else here, we're just guessing on what has happened. Or how we got to this point.

I can't (and refuse) to tell anyone else how to feel or what to think, but I'm going to go to Dolpa with my usual expectations which is to see some friends and walking away from this empty handed. As much as I would love to go home with some sort of Volks souvenir, I expect to come away empty. The hotel is booked. My plane ticket is paid for. Wishing for changes, or wondering what might be at Dolpa is useless at this point. Volks has their secret play book for Dolpa and they alone hold the decoder ring to decipher it. I'm going to go and see what the weekend brings. While I am not positive or overjoyed by what this Dolpa is shaping up to be, I am doing my best not to be gloomy. If I go to LA being sad and disappointed right off the plane, then my feelings will only get worse. And that would be a shame to bring down others. So I refuse to do that.

However, I suspect that this may be many people's first and/or last Volks event. :sweat Maybe after the event is all said and done, we should organize a letter (or individual letters) or something to offer Volks polite suggestions on what we would like to see in the future? Like more boys dolls and boy clothing …

Very true but I'm not holding my breath. I also still believe that we will see another Alice/Lorina release in the future. These dolls are just too popular worldwide not to be released again.

14. I think part of what I am really getting at with my post is that, all of this would be offset, in similar style to Japanese Dolpa, with a limited offering. A limited release will have much bigger production numbers, and definitely now that Volks is going to preorder method for Dolpas, there is just an overall better chance to get a doll when you have people more interested in trying for a Limited Release, rather than going after a one-off (which typically still have many more in number than what we are being offered). I totally understand what you are saying though, and I acknowledge we don't really know what it will be like there, but I also anticipate that there will be far greater numbers than what I stated above, I was simply playing safe. Now, will it reach 10k, nah, but could it easily reach a thousand? I think so, and with that many people, your hopes of getting anything are pretty much dashed, probably even in the cute clothes department, which will all be snapped up quickly, so I guess if you are like me and hoped to have a chance above the third percentile to walk out with a doll, then nah, don't bring that jazz here, because it isn't likely, but if you have experience and you know what this could be like with them playing it safe, then yeah, you're gonna go home not unhappy or let down (cept maybe that tiny nagging feeling like you should have gotten something).

Honestly, when I said I sent them a long letter talking about our hopes for the Dolpa, I truly was nice and literally sitting there talking about sincere hopes that we had for Dolpa, and yet are getting something so different and lesser than what we had before. I laid out plans for them, and gave them as much incite into the US community (from reading everyone's posts) as I could, while also linking them to these threads in hopes they have a rep here. I didn't ever receive a reply, but I also wasn't expecting one, nor did I really want the throw away reply we often get of: "Thank you for your continued support" blah blah blah, delete. I hope that letter made it to them, and that it met them with hopes and dreams rather than negative crap like I spew here at times when I get disappointed. I fully support further contact with them, possibly a survey put together by us to give to the staff after we each fill it out, or the petition you guys were talking about, though I think petitioning would be a tad strange maybe. I will help in any way I can!

15. I seriously doubt that even 500 people will be attending this Dolpa. There will definitely not be a thousand competing for the 30ish dolls total. Only 600 people have even read this thread and only 89 people have stated that they are attending on the Volks official Facebook page for this event. At the previous LA event, there were one-off dolls that got zero entries and were taken back to Japan. Compound that with the doll theft in NY and I'd expect them to be a little gun shy about bringing too many. The dolls they did select are some highly desirable sculpts; no doubt there are Japanese fans seething over the fantastic odds for a Shinku, and no one here is going to bid even 10000 for that Alice. As much as this is not our fantasy Volks event, it's still a pretty big effort for such a small attending fan base.

16. I think it is hard for people to understand what happens at a Japanese Dolpa, K, so I will elaborate on the Dolpa situation here in Japan to better convey the situation here.

At this past Kyoto Dolpa in August 2015 there were two lines: Sumika and General Admission. This means there were no limited dolls at the most recent event, but people could enter the lottery for the Best of the Best DD. There was a special Kyoto-themed bento that was ~awesome~ but there was no special Tea Party with dinner. The One-Off Auction doll was a WS SD16 Pearl in kimono. She was stunning. But, people in Japan cannot do FCS for SD16 girls. Only the US market can. So, that auction doll reached a million yen. In the US, you get a One-Off Alice painted by Ciera with body blushing. Now, let's compare the One-Offs between the Tea Party and the past Kyoto Dolpa in August 2015. In Japan, there were some very nice One-Offs but no Shinku and no Sugintou. And, the Tea Party gets them both. And, the Sugintou? She is SD16. The only SD16 girl One-Off offered at the Kyoto event was the Auction doll. Furthermore, if the number of attendees are compared, the Tea Party is limited to a few hundred people if I understand correctly. There is no limit on attendance at a Dolpa. Everyone can enter and there had to be at least a thousand people at the Dolpa event with only nine One-Offs of limited dolls. That said, there were other items available at the Dolpa by Volks. The Dear SD were unveiled (they will be available at Tenshi no Mado and Tenshi no Sato as Coordinate Models in the future so please do not support inflated YJA prices) and those at the event were sold as Coordinate Models. There were also 80 FCS dolls done up as One-Offs also offered up for lottery. Still, there are the Best of the Best dolls as well as Coordinate Models being sold at the LA Dolpa.

All in all, based on the attendance numbers, this upcoming LA Dolpa offers better odds when compared with the most recent Kyoto Dolpa in August 2015. The biggest difference does not lie in the availability of dolls, but rather with the offering of dealer items, in my opinion, and Volks appears to be attempting to compensate for that by offering some dealer items at LA Dolpa from Japan. But, the dealer items are a huge attraction here and there are people who will choose dealer items over dolls evening things out a bit, I think. (Okay, maybe only me? LOL!)

Also, I would like to add something, and it is not targeted at any one person or a critique of any kind. This is more of a helpful hint to better convey to the Volks staff a sense of caring among collectors. This sense of caring is something they have a deep-rooted respect for based on cultural expectations here in Japan.

It is likely Volks will be offering Rei-Tenshi and Sei-Tenshi at the Dolpa and/or Tea Party event. For people in Japan to get one they either have to enter a lottery to attend a private party and win a lottery or win one at a Dolpa by winning Bingo and pulling the "right" string. There are more people than dolls. As a result, there is a rule that people should only have ONE Rei-Tenshi/Sei-Tenshi per person. If you happen to win one at the event and already have one, please give it up to someone else without hesitation or question. This is a very Japanese rule, but it is a rule Volks is very serious about. By giving up the Tenshi you will demonstrate a value highly-valued by the Japanese staff at Volks and make people attending LA Dolpa look good.

The reason I mention this rule is that it appears that Volks head office in Japan seems to be controlling things from a Japanese perspective now. It is my guess based on what people have said here, what is on the Volks USA site and my experiences here in Japan, and those kinds of little gestures could be what defines whether or not there is another LA Dolpa in the future, perhaps even a LA Dolpa with its own limited doll.

-------

Overall, it sounds like a fun event to me! I hope everyone has a great time!! :aheartbea

17. I agree, Volks is probably bringing the amount of dolls they believe will cover this event. There's no pre-reg so they can only go estimate their attendance on those who've shown interest online.
Yes, we don't know the exact number of tea party attendee's but I honestly think the 6 dolls they chose are highly sought after molds in the North American market. Granted, there's no Nono's in this Dolpa, but I understand and accept their apologies.

The Best Selection dolls are also hard to get North American release dolls. They might not be what people were hoping for but I think Volks brought out some great options.

18. My thinking on numbers here also takes into account the difference in the number of Volks collectors in the US and Canada as compared to the last Dolpa which was literally 5 years ago, not counting the last LA Dolpa. I figured that now the hobby has grown considerably, the number of people who live near LA who are both from Asia and the US probably increased which has probably pushed the number of collectors up as well. I never use online numbers to justify anything simply because there are collectors who aren't on DoA, or do not post here, older collectors who don't use the internet as much, and also foreign collectors that live in the US who use do use the internet, but probably prefer a forum which is in their own language over this forum in English. 5 years is a long time, and the sculpts being offered aren't all that easy to come by these days, and certainly not a an original price, so I suspect there will be plenty of competition for those things offered.

Either way, I feel as if I should stop posting in here for the time being, as I have now cancelled my flight and hotel room after the latest reveal, and will now no longer be attending. At first I felt a sense of guilt towards thinking on that decision because I did make it into the Tea Party, but now I do not feel that really, as there isn't anyone here who would acknowledge that what is being offered to us isn't anything like we may have expected with the previous experience we were given. Think what you will of me I guess, but I love Volks, doesn't mean I have to support their business practices, and when it comes right down to it, they are still getting my money, they just won't know it.

19. This is the feeling I get as well.

And I also get the feeling that this Dolpa is more like a test for the waters. They have not done something in a long time. They are under new management. They want to see the reception to this event. This is why I want to go, if only because it shows support. We have been asking for this sort of thing a long time, and I don't want them to get the idea that there is not a crowd for it?
If people don't show up, it will change the tone of the event. They may not consider it worth it.

20. Hopefully, you let Volks know that you won't be coming to the tea party, so if possible, they can let the next person in line from the last lottery into the party.

21. I think that just about everyone would be happier with the Best Selection and One-Off numbers if they were offering a limited doll that *everyone could order* for this event.

I admit, I don't know that I'd have spent the money for cross-country airfare and multiple nights at a pricey hotel, if I'd known what the odds were.

I'm still going to go (for one thing, my tickets are nonrefundable), and it's going to be a great chance to see my friends -- but I don't know that I'd have spent months saving to have funds available for a one-off, FCS, or limited doll. (They posted the "no FCS orders" after I'd already bought Dolpa/Tea Party tickets and airfare.)

I don't have a problem with the One-Off/Best Selection offerings, which are all sought-after dolls (although I wish that the numbers for the BS dolls weren't so low.) I just think that all of us would have been happier if they had offered a limited doll release as well, so that we didn't wind up feeling like the odds are good that we'll walk away empty-handed.

Yes, we are used to the odds of previous US Dolpas, rather than Japanese Dolpas -- but, if Volks wanted to put on a drastically different event than they had in the past, perhaps they could have given us more advance knowledge of their plans, so that we could have made an informed decision as to whether we wanted to pay for an expensive trip.

-- A <3

22. You've brought up a lot of good points. Maybe in the end things get 'Lost in Translation'? I dunno. Lots of speculation from me and from all. I think unless Volks comes out and makes a statement, we're all just doing our best observation. The Rei/Sei tenshi thing is again, one of those unwritten rules that I think most people don't know. I know I didn't know it until recently. While I agree with what you are saying, it would be nice if people could give it up, I won't hold it against anyone who can't give up a tenshi. Sometimes it might be hard to think when that moment is put upon you. :sweat

I'm in agreement with St. James, I think there will only be about 300-500 people. The closing of the LA store only saw about 150 people which had sales, orphan limited dolls and FCS plus a lottery tea party to entice people to come. This Dolpa has been wobbly from the start. I don't think we are going to see big numbers here. That's my gut feeling.

You have to make the best decision for you. It's too bad that you've decide to cancel your travel plans but it sounds like this was the better choice for you. You're right. The no limited doll release is odd and let's face it, a big deciding factor for a lot of people. And it's a real surprise. I think every single Dolpa has had a limited doll release of some kind - either Super Dollfie or Dollfie Dream. And even every Volks event has had something. This is a first I think.

I hope you'll email Volks to let them know you aren't attending, not only to see if someone else can take your place but because you were disappointed in how things went. I think that alone may speak volumes to them.

Yeah. This is really odd not getting some sort of limited doll release. Of course, it might have been something that some people were not after. I know if it was an SD16 girl limited release, I would have walked out without a doll. But of course, others would be only too happy to get a doll.

It's too bad Volks didn't offer FCS for people. At least if there was no doll to try for, some people may have at least placed an order for FCS.

23. I have never been to a Japanese Dolpa but I have been to the LA and NY one and I think I just got spoiled by the LA Dolpa. I feel very fortunate that I was a part of the last LA Dolpa as it was one of the best doll conventions/experience I have had in this Hobby. I am not going into this one with high expectations but I am looking forward to seeing and meeting fellow Volks lovers ^^

24. I have already discussed my plans to cancel with Volks the moment I thought I may not attend with what information they had given us at the time (about two weeks ago now), they expressed no interest in letting anyone else take my place even after I told them of the possibility, they simply wanted to know whether they would be able to cancel my meal option and to inform me I wouldn't be getting my money back (though I expressed no interest in getting it back). Frankly...the girl that contacted me wasn't very nice even while I was as polite as possible, I think she may have been stressed I suppose :sweat Makes me think I will really want to just email in my future contact with Volks :sweat

As I said...I will still be buying Volks this year, I have replaced all my plans and money into Sato FCS, so...I am still getting my dolls from them, I just wish it had been under the possibility that I was attending an event to do so. I will try my utmost to encourage them to invite someone in my stead, perhaps from the attendees already there, but as I said, they didn't seem all that interested in doing so.

25. Hi Sdink,

Happy to see you are coming!

Hi Artemos,

Would have liked to meet you in person and talk Sato FCS Msd/Sdm. But I totally understand more dollars for dolls.

26. Alas, Artemos! But I understand. I had no idea there was an actual meal involved in the tea party!

I suspect that our friendly new manager is the sole impetus behind this Dolpa. We've been asking and asking and it's his job to try to please his customers despite any resistance from HQ due to the unprofitable nature of US events. It feels like he was told he could have one if he managed to assemble enough stuff without burdening the doll design department, hence the lack of a new limited doll.
As far as I know, they already shipped their huge FCS kit back home so they couldn't do FCS without shipping it all back over here (poor planning, there). That would have been ideal, but they've been burned before when it comes to FCS and perhaps couldn't justify the expense. The previous manager was deeply embarrassed by the addition of sunlight skin failing to generate a flock of in-store FCS orders on the weekend it became available (as if we would all drop everything and run down there that very day).

27. Yeah. I think we didn't realize how good it was until it was gone. Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks! :D

That makes so much sense! Keeping costs as low as possible. Sad but I can see that.

Even the last weekend at the LA store, there was still vacancies for FCS which was luckily because there was a few people like me who were able to do unplanned FCS orders. But I think they expected every FCS time period and staff to be completely full like it can be at Tenshi no Sato sometimes. It was probably a surprise to them that it wasn't completely booked, especially since it was advertised as the last FCS.

28. There's no meal?! Then, why does it cost what it costs (I think it's US$50)? Is it to cover costs? That would explain all the lotteries, I suppose. Well, I guess I should have read rather than skimmed the details. :doh Please accept my apologies. As a point of comparison my guidebook was ¥1500 plus the bento that cost ¥1300.

-------

I cannot comment on LA Dolpa compared to other American events nor can I say it is positive or negative, but it sounds like American collectors received a Japanese kind of Dolpa with significantly better odds for one-offs. Welcome to a Japanese-like Dolpa...?

As a word of caution, I'd be very careful about voicing things that could be perceived as demands. I personally can appreciate and sympathize with the disappointment. But, with the recent negative feedback from collectors in Japan I think it poses an opportunity to make a good impression by being positive and grateful. I get the impression Volks is having difficulties meeting demand and I cannot say if it is intentional or not. Only Volks can know. Want more dolls? Be kind in your feedback as Volks decides what to release when.

29. Why no meal? It says Drinks & Light meal at least ;) And yes, it's $50 per person. I guess it's cheaper at Japan Dolpa because there are a lot more attendees and they don't need to pay for waiters and organizers for example, they do have a lot of their own staff in Japan and salary is the same no matter what work they do, right? Well this is at least what I think.

30. I think you may be misunderstanding her? She said she had no idea that there WAS an actual meal, indicating there is one that she was unaware of. Not that there isn't one. I believe it's not a full meal, but a lighter one, being a tea. But I imagine one of the reasons it's more expensive than Japanese Dollpas is because American hotel food & beverage costs are completely insane, especially in high-traffic areas like California.

I don't recall them announcing the one-offs before at their events, so I won't be too shocked if there actually turn out to be more than what was posted. I was secretly hoping for a Hinata, but won't be terribly surprised if she doesn't materialize. I'm just glad two of the one-offs are Yo size :D

31. Does anyone know the rough prices for various one off sizes from Volks?

32. ^ Follow the link to see the prices of the One-offs from the Holiday Event!

33. Both of mine were SD13 in size, and one was just under $1000 and the other just over $1100, since he was sunlight skin.

34. Thank you for this link! Since Volks has already offered the US 2 Lorinas, 2 Alices and one each of Shinku & Suigintou, among others, it's not so unusual that we are seeing them again at the Dolpa. I've been out of the loop for a bit, but I had no idea that the SDGr girls were quite so pricey.*_*

35. Thank you everyone for the link! :)

These dolls all look lovely. The Shinku face up is to die for.

36. I was curious about the wonderland theme for the One-offs.

They are cute.

37. Okay, I've been out of the loop, but for the costume contest, do you think they'll mind a slightly modified default faceup? I have a Ruby from 2008 with her lip color repainted to a more natural tone (the bright red was cute, but wasn't working for me.) If I can get this outfit done, I'll put her in either way and deal with it, but what do you all think?

Thanks! :D

38. Were you the one to modify it? Then I would assume its fine. Rules just state it has to be either your work or the default. I would think a modified default would be fine.

39. Yes, it was me who changed it (heck, she's been to multiple Dolpas in Japan, and everyone liked her there, so I'm not too worried) but yeah, pretty much what I was thinking too.

...now to actually make this outfit I have in mind...and I only have a week, and I'm at Anime California all weekend. I blew it this time. xD;

40. I'm having a similar problem. I have patterns made that I've been fine tuning, but I need more practice which I'm not getting. Then, I forgot to order my lining fabric from spoonflower until yesterday. So now it's not arriving until the first. Leaving me little time to finish.

41. I had planned on bringing a doll but wasn't going to enter the costume contest. Is it going to offend Volks if she has a faceup by someone other than myself?

42. If she's not in the contest, and not a hybrid, I should think she'd be OK. :)

43. Can someone direct me to the link of the costume contest? I can't seem to find it. Thanks!

44. The contest details were in an email from July 31. Look on the first page of this thread, post #3, and you'll see the copied email. ^^

45. Ah! Thanks so much! I knew I had seen it but I just couldn't spot where! I felt like I was going a bit crazy! :sweat

Sounds like we can participate too if we have a bought outfit? Not just ones we made? That's the way I am reading it….

46. Yes, I think it can be a bought outfit. :)

47. It's more of a dress-up contest rather than a sewing contest, so either way is fine.
I am going to see if I can pull together some elements, but I really don't think I have anything for the theme.

I really have to get around to digging through my doll clothing. Ugg. :ablah:

48. You can buy the outfit?!? There goes my hours of sewing...

49. Oh noes … :sweat Well if they judge maybe it will be 2 categories, store bought and owner made? I bet they just wanted to encourage everyone to dress their doll in the theme.

50. Perhaps. And I can see that it would encourage people to buy or show off older Volks outfits. I should no longer be surprised at being frustrated by Volks!

51. Same here [emoji19]

52. Try days of sewing -- while having pneumonia. At least gathering ruffles was easy.

53. I'm actually finally making progress after changing my dress pattern entirely so I think I'm going to try to finish it. I theoretically have an outfit I'd originally planned on bringing my doll in that I could add stuff to if it really doesn't turn out.

But, outside of anything else, it's my first "big" sewing project.

54. Hi!! It's been forever since I've posted on DoA, but I'm super pumped for the tea party, since both my and my husband got in :3. I feel like it's been all Volks all the time around my place, I just submitted my DWC faceup entry, and I also just finished an outfit for my SD16 Rinon (her name is Bianca). Is it ok to post pics in here, or discussion only?

55. No reason you can't post a pic in here, since it's what your girl is wearing to the tea party.

*waves hello*
I haven't seen you since, was it the last SF doll convention? Good to see you here~

So I went through all my doll stuff and I have nothing to pull together to fit the party theme. Oh well, Lena will just wear something dressy/formal or if I bring Idris he will be his usual casual hippie self.

56. Was it the last run of that San Fran convention (Dollectable I think) I had a little table there. Can't wait to see a room full of dolls XD. Here's my Bianca

57. Omigawd! Your Bianca looks awesome! I love the details in her choker and hair piece.:aheartbea Alas, I have no talent for sewing, so my Marie will be going in the Volks Classical Lace-Up Lolita outfit in Bourdeaux while my husband's Naomi will be all old school Jun Tachibana. :)

58. I did some crafting and sewing of some items to add to my outfit for my doll but I'm not great at sewing myself either. She will be dressed for the theme though. :D

59. I'm not an Alice in Wonderland fan, so no theme outfits here.
