Contest Dolls of Paradise: Doll Fashion Design Contest (Drawing/Design)

I submitted two designs, but the third one still needs the side view drawn out so I don't know if I will be able to get it done tomorrow. We'll see.

 

Did anyone happen to get an answer about what specific time the contest closes on August 7th? Sorry if I missed it ^^;;

I should have asked this earlier, but- were we supposed to get a confirmation that our entries made it before the cutoff? Like, if someone had forgotten something on the form, would someone have let them know rather than just disqualify it?

 

If something was missing, you would have been notified. There were no confirmations of entries sent in, however; we asked that for any contest, you use the read receipt function on the PM to be sure that your entry was received. Thanks!

I sent in an entry for 60-70cm girls and I don't see it posted

 

Not all entries are posted - if you read the opening post, DoP chose up to 5 of their top entries from each category. These entries are considered "semi-finalists."

 

I just re-read the how-to-enter etc post, and I have a quick question - does the voting determine which outfits dop will decide to make, or is that determined beforehand (so its like two separate contest/winnings), regardless if they made it into the top five or not?

 

For me it sound like DoP will make outfits only from the top 5, all of the rejected design have been .... urgh lack of words, well rejected for clothes making I guess. Though I dunno honestly.

 

The member voting is to determine the prizes (different gift certificate amounts). DoP is choosing outfits independently from the member vote... though I'm sure seeing the potential market for each one will probably help them decide which they would like to make!

I'm not sure if they're making one from each category or not.

 

okay, thank you for that! Thats what I thought. I wonder if they'll announce it when the prize winners are announced? So much suspense with the contests this month.

 

They are all so amazing! I am going to have a hard time voting. Congrats to everyone on their hard work and creativity!

I hope DoP creates the white Yo outfit, whether or not it wins. That's one I would DEFINITELY get for any Yo I bought. It's just soooo pretty to me, Blue is the color that makes my heart pitter patter.

 

Oh, I agree completely!!! I would be so sad if they didn't make that one! All the awesome 5th anniversary items have sucked up all my monies, but I get the feeling I would find a way to get the money for that

Me too. It's almost as bad as waiting for a doll. But I'm glad that they gave us an opportunity like this at all! It was really great to enter in.

I actually had two other designs for this contest other than the one that won, but one didn't make it in and the other was finished too late for submission. If DoP doesn't end up making the one they chose I'll likely release them as one-offs later this year. It's a shame the Rose Garden lolita set didn't get in on time.

I really loved the entries that made finalists. The designs for all the girls were so cute! They made me regret that I didn't get a girl for my first doll, but I'm still happy with my incoming boy! And there's nothing saying that I can't crossdress him. >___>

 

Baenclam, I just love your design. I really hope that DOP decides to make yours. I would be first in line to buy it.

 

I have a question that I thought I would share just in case anyone else who is a finalist may also be curious about.

I wonder if it is possible to use the gift credit with one of the US or international DOP vendors?

 

Any news on this front? I really had wanted to get ahold of beanclam's MSD girls' design..... is DOP going to be making any of these designs? Any word?

oohhh something I can enter showing off my skills without my lil boy! I have a few ideas in my sketch book that I was going to make but might as well submit them and see if I can get them mass produced ^_^ Question? Can we submit rough mock up photos of out designs if it will better explain our ideas?
