I just finished knitting a dress for my Fine, Amity She's so glad to have something new to wear.



Now to accessorize and save up for some cute heels

ETA: speaking of heels, has anyone tried any Angell Studio heels on their Eve's heel feet? I'm really eyeballing a pair of houndstooth pumps from them, but I'm a little nervous about fit.

Also, I think I'm going to have to restring Amity (for the millionth time ugh) because she's way too loose (I think!?). Does anyone have any recommendations for how I can tell when I have the right tension? I'm scared to break off the hooks on her feet, which is probably why I didn't go tight enough last time :/ But she's pretty much like a rag doll right now and I can't stand it anymore. Going to (finally) suede her torso soon as well, so I can do that while I've got her apart.

 

She's really pretty! I love her wig...great job on the dress!

Y'know I've never really thought to worry about the feet on mine, I just yank the string up through the head and re-knot when they're really tight. I keep mine TIGHT because they're easier to pose IMO.

I was just redressing two of my Kara Klums last night for a meet this weekend and damn, are they floppy >.< The worst part is there isn't much give left in their elastic so I guess it's time for a restring instead of a tightening. Bleh. I don't know if I have enough string! Or any string! And they would both pull this at the same time right before I really need them to pose well. Jerks.

the jeans fit a bit odd but it did say they fit Adam's as well as Eve's, so that explains her having the same issue I do (waist is smaller than the jeans are cut for). ... Yes that is my epic crap "5 minute shirt" ... Or it would have been 5 minutes if I was using a machine anyway. It needs work, like I should have checked and left slits in the hip area, so it would fit over.

 

uh, wow, has anyone noticed Dollmore discontinuing their dolls?? Some of the Kids are gone now, and most of the Adams. I can't tell if any Eves are missing, but I didn't look that hard.

 

Oh wow, yeah Miso and Ray are definitely missing from there. And Claudia Neel too! Oh how sad, I always liked her and wished more people had her. Guess they just never sold.

Claudia Neel...I was going to buy her. Then Fine came out. It is sad. Miso is still there though! I checked for her since she was my most recent DM purchase.

What's really weird is the lack of warning. There was at least one DMK I kind of wanted that's gone, now I'm a little worried about the fate of everyone else!

 

Has anybody asked them about it yet? It's so unlike a company to discontinue anything without at least a short stab at getting those last-minute panic dollars!

 

I'm pretty sure someone in the DMK discussion thread did contact them, and they did say the molds were gone. Honestly I'm not surprised....sad as it is people just aren't interested in old basics anymore *shrug*
if no one buys them why keep them around.

I'm really shocked at the number of Adams that are gone. But again if no one is buying them...and there are so few of them out there.

 

That makes me sad! There were a number of them that are really lovely sculpts and so different from what a lot of other companies put out. If I had a tree that grew money I could name several sculpts of theirs I would love to get my hands on.

 

Aw, that's so sad there aren't many more DM dolls that I want, but I'd still like other people to get them so that I can look at their cuteness!
I really don't get why people don't buy more dolls from Dollmore, they are all so special! Many of them got some difficult angles, but that only gives them peronality, at least in my opinion. And the resin is wonderful and the quality great! The posing is natural and very good for a mostly single jointed doll. I don't get it

 

This is really sad news Going to go check and see if the dolls I have on my wishlist are still available!

 

It's been two months and I still haven't tightened or sueded Amity :B She's getting more unwieldy, too, and did NOT want to play model for me this week. I think this isn't the "couture" she was hoping for when I said she could stick around and be a model XD

The mug came from Michaels, they were only $1! I got what was left (15 I think) and gave them out at the meet...
The Jack was donated by the meet hostess who was worried I'd get stabbed in my sleep with tiny doll-sized knives because I forgot to bring his (which is more to scale XD).

I think he liked the big one better anyway....


And hey, since I'm here, does anyone have any Blueblood doll clothes?? Do they fit the Adams??

Damn he's gorgeous. I love that head on the bigger body...I thought since he came out that Sion was too masculine for the tiny DM body. He looks amazing!!

Sean (DM Kara Klum) is off for a new faceup, so Ravis (IH Tedros) is sitting on the shelf alone. Question for those with the Youth Adam body, other than the skinny pants from DM, have you found any nice fitting pants? I've found unless I sew for him, Sean's clothing just falls off his skinny hips.

Hello! After stalking this board for a while ( sorry I'm a weirdo xD; ), I've finally decided to post and ask my question since I'm having a hard time finding answers on the other DM boards.

I'm really interested in getting a DM Adam body but would like to find a different head for him, since the ones DM has available with him really don't fit his character. Does anyone have some recommendations for resin matching and size matching? I was looking at Migidoll heads since they're available in four different tones, but I wouldn't know if any one of them came close to matching the body. Another thing I was worried about was the size of the head looking proportionate to his body, since it's so narrow. I don't want him looking like a bobblehead haha.

I've never put any of my Migi's on a DM body before so I can't say for sure, but the "new" Souldoll Double has the same measurements as the DM Adam almost exact, only they're taller...and my Miho looks great on that body. Some of the heads that look younger, or are technically meant to be girls, might work out ok on it....some of the others might end up looking bobble-head. Owen is a giant head, and probably won't work (I owned one for about 15 seconds). Miho, Jina and Yuri might look better.

I don't think they make a color that's comparable however. A is too pink and B is too Yellow (or at least they were the last time I got one new, which was last year). WS isn't really an option as there were a limited number of the WS Adam bodies made and they're hard to get and whiter than pretty much anything....Though an A WS might work on a NS DM if it's blushed......

I tried a Luts 08 man head on my DM body once, it looked pretty good, and Luts is similar in color to Dollmore. I also put a Zaoll head on one (that was perfect. I'd do that in a heartbeat if I had a character for one!) That's about all I got....

 

Strange enough I just got a Sweet Dolls Allison in the Pale Normal resin - they use Fantasy Doll as the casting company if you want to take a look at the color chart. My Allison and my Kara Klum match near perfect

 

I think Ill buy in the future a Mio's head (On the french market), but before that, I just want to know on what body can I put this head ? (I don't like DM's body).

Why can't Dollmore's Youth dolls come in suntan resin?? I have a DM kid Paran in suntan, but I really think if they started producing the Eves in suntan resin, I'd be temped to switch my collection to larger dolls!

 

I haven't yet posted anything in this thread although I should have done it long time ago! Here's my Dollmore Youth Eve Aileen Her nose was slightly modded to give her a softer look:

 

She's so pretty. I love Aileen, she's one of my favorite female molds.

Some randomness - yesterday I had one of my Kara Klums (the first one) and was putting some different clothes on him when I noticed his knees weren't fitting together right. I had some panic while I was imagining some horribleness like I broke him or he warped somehow or something...when I realized I'd strung his calves on the wrong leg. And he'd been that way for months.

Yep. Five years, and I haven't figured out the damn dot system....

I have heard that her head will fit on the Zaoll body, and I've seen some zaoll hybrids with Dollmore Eve heads. Actually I just bought a Mio head and a Zaoll body with the intention of doing that, I can let you know how it goes.

 

A little late but I have two Eve/Zaolls at home. One's a ftm, and one is a f. I think it works great! I love having the height variation (height is one of the things I seriously obsess about in this hobby).

I'm not sure what else would work, but Luts NS is close to Dollmore.

My Kara Klums are killing me. I have one who's (new) faceup got ruined, and another with no body that I'm dying to put on one. And they're all dressed for a meet so I can't really do anything with them (and as usual they're the only dolls I'm in the mood for). I really need to fix that faceup though, his poor head is in a box I hate having him in a box....

I'm thinking of making an order from Alice's Collections and was wondering if anyone had ever gotten their boy pants for DM Adams?? I'd love to know if they fit ok or not??

 

OMG this calls for a triple post. I've had my DM Eve Fine for three and a half years and the whole time I've had her she's driven me up a wall with her weirdness. One thing in particular is her arms...one of them never straightened out. She would slap all over and could not straighten her arm. Today I really looked at her and realized her lower arms were on the wrong side and so I restrung her arms....I also noticed her elbow piece was upside down, so I flipped it and switched her arm pieces....

SHE WORKS! Her arm straightens!! She can reach up! She's not smacking herself and me! IT'S A MIRACLE!! And I'm a moron who should have restrung her years ago.....but noooooooo I just took it for mold flaw and left it to be annoying....

I just had to drop in and share my amaze\excitement.

My Kara Klum's arm is doing something like that too, except he's just getting his arm suck in a bent position, maybe I strung him wrong those evil little elbow pieces are hard to get right. I'm gonna have to go check that out!

 

They are hard. It doesn't help that I can never figure out which dots go where. I do think they face down now though. It's worth a look! THREE YEARS it took me to fix Isis. That shouldn't happen to anyone lol

I also boiled her spare wig the other day. It looks amazing O.O

I had been getting kind of frustrated with her look....frustration over.

I've got a specific question.

Fit the Youth EVE high heeled feets on the Zaoll body?

 

Hiya! I tried regular eve flat feet on one of my Zaoll bodies a while back and it didn't work:



That curved lip on the Zaoll calf piece doesn't allow the foot ball to sit in the socket.
If you're not opposed to modding it might work, but I personally think the Eve foot/ankle is too big. I have more pics if you want them...

Oh wow she's gorgeous!! I always loved Hwi ki, she's such a pretty mold. I can't wait to see some completed pics of her!

 

Thank you ever so much! She was my first doll, I got her second hand from a friend and was completely blank, a little yellowed and chipped around the eyes but I fell completely in love with her at first glance. She's gone through several faceups with her but always disliked the final result until this one.

This isn't a very good picture of her, I just snapped it on my phone but she's still so, so pretty!

It has taken me a long time to get these two together with twin clothing. Dollmore Youth Eve Elf Mio LE, but not really elves.

 

Shirokuma: aww they're very sweet and I love the way that the one in white shorts is posing you're very lucky to get such sweet little twins together and I like what you've done with their clothing

Sephy_Kiriyama: your Hwi Ki is lovely! I always wish there were more around, they're such a lovely sculpt.

 

Aww thank you I like the Hwi ki sculpt so much though she was hell to paint, I couldn't do anything with her and I tried several different faceup artists before I was eventually able to find something that worked for her. I love her so much now though I'm really glad I persevered with her, I think she's so lovely.

Seeing everyone's photos is making me so excited to order my Kara Klum. ^_^ Yes, I'm finally going to get him. XD Not immediately, but hopefully before the end of the year...or at least by January, barring any unforeseen happenings. He's been on my wishlist for years, but others kept coming up first. But his turn is finally coming.

 

Omg I haven't been to this thread in way too long.

I have question for you few with Eve heads. Does anyone have a 65 ish cm girl body they can try an Eve head on?? My Fine is getting replaced (I have a Biwol head coming - hopefully today - for her) and I would like to know if any of them, Fine especially, could pull off a taller body. I'm not too worried about resin match, and I can mod if necessary, it's mostly proportion I'm worried about. Her face is pretty big, so I think it could work, but I don't have a girl bigger than 58 so I don't know...

And in case someone didn't know, Dollmore discontinued a bunch of their molds a few days ago - including Miso and Thinking Kara Klum *sobs*

I was looking at him this past summer, and thought I had all the time in the world. That was what I liked about Dollmore, how long they seemed to keep sculpts. Can't blame them, though, for wanting to do a little housecleaning, since their aesthetic is changing with the times...

I don't blame them either, especially if popularity is a factor....but I would have liked warning. I totally would have bought a spare thinking Kara head. If I ever get around to the mods I plan for the one I have and ruin him...I'll be so depressed.
Same when they discontinued all those sculpts last time, I was so depressed about missing out on U-Jee....Warning would be nice lol

EDIT: BTW does anyone have a Biwol?? What size eyes look best in her, 10mm??

 

This crushes me so much. I've been wanting a Miso for years to be my Lilis Liv's cheerful twin sister. >_< If I'd had a warning, I'd have scrambled for her. (I've done that in the past with other companies...) I should try to get an Ohoo and Chami before it's too late.

 

That makes me sad too...not a lot of us out there own Miso, I would have loved to see more! But I love Chami and Ohoo, you need them!!

So I have officially replaced my Fine with Biwol. She is faceless and has no eyes (I don't own any that small!) but I'm totally in love. She's so much more Isis - at least the Isis of today as opposed to the Isis of years ago when I got Fine. I can't wait to get a face on her.

 

Hey everyone! I'm absolutely sure that someone has already asked such a question, I'm so sorry, I can't find this. T_T So the question is, which kinds of bodies look good with Youth girl? I know that Zaoll looks pretty good and I've made a topic of trading Youth eve <=> Zaoll, but I'm sure that no one needs such a trade or doesn't have Zaoll body for this DDD I don't like this body's big breast and too long legs, and I need something more... hmm... natural? Well, hope someone will answer me (T-T)
