Dollmore Trinity Discussion - Part 2

I think you guys should calm down and not take comments about lifeless resin dolls as personal slights. Maybe I find it offensive you've put words in my mouth and have bent the entirety of what I said. At no point was I speaking of human beings, so please relax. I am entitled to my opinion of not liking the size difference between them and it has nothing to do with you or any person you know. Let's stop being silly.

@nancy_schroeder_ca Yeah, I also don't like his style either. Especially the face. I think they were trying to go for a mature, smouldering look but he just looks kind of unpleasant lol.

Anybody have suggestions for a chair for a Trinity doll? Did you make your own? Can I see pictures please?

 

@MaleficentMrsofEvil You could try kids' chairs, I guess. I'd get a solid, sturdy one for a heavy BJD like Trinity.

And...I'm confused. Dollmore states a female Trinity weighs 21kg/46 pounds and a male Trinity weighs 27kg/60 pounds.
Does anyone know why they're overstating weight?
(My Lusion is 9.25lbs but Dollmore claims it's 14kg/31lbs.)

 

They may be including the weight of the clothing and the stand. That stand is no joke. It's a heavy bugger.

 

They may be giving a shipping weight.

 

Both of my Trinity's sit in dolls originally made for antique/reproduction dolls. I bought both well before I got into BJDs in 2005.

 

I received the tracking number for my Edna doll this morning. I am so excited❤️❤️.

 

Finally got around to restringing, wiring, and washing up Elysia (headcap says Alicia?). One very disgusting, black sponge later she's looking nice and spiffy. She stands on her own now, too! Although I wouldn't leave her alone without a stand, lol.
I discovered a pretty big chip on the back of one leg, though. I emailed Dollmore Abby and asked about the best way to repair damage to their dolls. Abby said to send pictures, and they'll make a new leg for me? I didn't realize that was a thing... I mean, of course I have to pay for it, but still. I thought that was a pretty cool offer.
Still eagerly waiting for the outfit I ordered for her. I think she's going to look awesome in her new duds. Plus knickers. My girls gotta have knickers. It's a thing, man.

 

Dollmore news: as I love Kate a lot, but the trinity size is so hard to handle... I asked at the customer support, if they plan to release Kate as Zaoll-size as well as they did Elysia and the answer is YES. Abby confirmed, that she will be released as a Zaoll-size around christmas. Thought to share this here. Of course- not just cause maybe some Kate owners wish to have a mini-me for her lady.
Of course I wish to order her in this size. I had Kate and sold her. I loved her but she was too hard to handle for me.

 

Wonderful! I would love a Kate! Trinity is too big for me also these days. I asked Dollmore to bring Elysia down for the Zaoll body! I was surprised how fast they did it! Maybe it was already in the works!

 

Dollmore Abby said about 2 more weeks! Weeeee! Alicia/Elysia is gonna be so fancy in her new duds! I'm also getting the jointed hands, and I'm super excited for those.

I mentioned this in the other large Dollmore thread, but I emailed a picture of my cat mirin' Alicia to Dollmore Abby. She said that the owner's cat just crossed the rainbow bridge last week. So if anyone wants to send condolences, I'm sure Abby would pass them along.

Update, i received Frozen Tear, but with a Marianne head, was nice and i keep it, then complete my Frozen.

 

Ok, I wanted drop by and say it’s been awhile lol. I love my Edna doll! I have since changed her clothes because she is able to wear toddler dresses just fine ❤️ I think that she is the perfect size bjd and is made very well, Dollmore does great work. I’m very glad I bought the stand for her.

 

Hello and Happy New Year everyone
Few day sago i received Eugenia head and i have completed my Frozen Tear Eugenia set, well... still need faceup to be completed, but i'll do in future. She is definitelly my favorite Dollmore sculpt.


I love the outfit, it's really well make, .

 

Dollmore clothes are not cheap, but oh yes - the quality is outstanding.
Elysia loves her new clothes, and those cheap little fairy wings you can get for kids on Halloween fit Trinities perfectly!

I’m seriously considering buying a male Trinity doll. However I can’t fully decide on it yet as I have another doll in mind. Is anyone thinking of buying a male Trinity doll? Which one are you choosing?

 

It seems like they only offer one male head sculpt? The Danny White M sculpt, and he's got a furrowed brow I'm not a huge fan of. I'm kinda hoping they make a Model M head bigger. But the body is amazing....

 

I am about in the middle of a long lay away for the Baker Street version. I'm getting him without a faceup (to cut corners on the co$t). I think there were some pictures of him without a faceup somewhere. The scowl can be minimized with a different faceup, or if you're okay with it - can be sanded off. But I think just a different faceup will be enough for most people.
Check out the pictures of him in the Trinity Male clothes they have up now. He doesn't look so angry IMHO.
Personally, I like the frown. It's so hard to get a proper frowny look on a neutral face.
(I'm weird, I know)

 

There are several female Trinities on sale right now, and if I wasn't in the middle of a long layaway myself...
Le sigh. I seriously looked long and hard at my layaway (also with Dollmore), but I really do want my girls (a Model F Mellow Cole, a Model F Keeley Sum, and mermaid). But maaaaaaaaaaaan. I would LOVE a Kate. I love her face sculpt.
But it's never "just" the doll, right? I would want another pair of jointed hands, and I love Dollmore's seam sanding service, and maybe some more clothes, and and and... lol. It adds up really quickly.

 

@aernath, your comment made me look at the Trinity male, and while I won't buy any dolls bigger than 70cm, I like his frowny face, too! So I'll be weird with you

I like all happy or contented dolls. I get enough scowls from hubby.

 

Dollmore just added a new boy, i am tempted, but as i have a trinity body on layway i must say no...

 

I like his face, but I think Dollmore went a lil too red on the lips of his face-up.

I still need to get a lot more arm strength and money before I could ever order one though

Please note I know absolutely nothing about children's clothing or shoe sizes. All I know is, I found these little zip-up cheetah print booties in Aldi's Aisle of Shame (Aldi is private-label grocery store with non-food seasonal items, jokingly referred to as the Aisle of Shame, cuz they're such a good deal! How can you not buy!), and the box said (U.S.) Toddler size 5/6. They are a perfect, snug fit on default (flat) feet:


I will now be stalking the children's shoe section at local stores for toddler-inappropriate, but doll-perfect, shoes.
They were $15, by the way.

Your girl has same hair as my Miya doll (that it's still waiting for the body) and she looks great in this outfit. I also buy 4-5 yrs old kid shoes for my trinity girl and fit nicely...also, it's cheaper than dollmore shoes

I hate to be that person, but the total percentage off is actually less, since you're taking 10% off after the first discount so it comes out to about 23.5% off.

Sorry I haven't checked in in a while friends! Congrats on everyone who has gotten dolls, and oh boy, those boys!

They aren't exactly my type, but they are handsome! The height difference between him and the female trinities is a lot! I like it, but I almost wish there were a different version of the body that were a tad shorter. Or a female body variant that was a tad taller? Either way, kinda wish there was an inbetween size, but still, they look great together.

 

I am once again feeling like I want to buy those trinity jointed hands for my Lumie, does anyone know if they pose well or do the digits just kind of slide however they want?

 

They really do slide wherever they want to - they are very loosely strung. Also, don't pay for blushing - Dollmore sent mine already chipped because they couldn't get it to stick. Better to just DIY it.

 

Oh, also - Elysia is currently hanging out on an ottoman, but I snagged one of my niece's IKEA chairs, so Elysia will be getting an upgrade soon. Probably going to keep the pillow though:

 

Are really loose strung, as everyone said here, but can pose nicely if you are patient enough, i think will be even better if decide to hot glue its, it's not that hard because are kinda big.

 

Thank you for the heads up about the hands MaleficentMrsofEvil and Ishogai, I had wondered since other jointed hands I've had in smaller sizes have also kind of done whatever they want :P Figured it would be even more pronounced because of the weight of the fingers, etc. Then again maybe because they are the size of doll legs/arms hot glue sueding could be a great option.

@MaleficentMrsofEvil can I ask who that GIANT doll next to your Elysia is, wow.

 

That is the crown jewel of my collection, Xin Meng Doll Magical Angel Iris. I adopted her from another forum member, and she is pure endorphin. 6 feet (180 cm) of endorphin, to be precise.

Unrelated: kid chairs, such as Ikea's Sundvik, are perfect for Trinities.

Hey there! I'm a big fan of Dollmore dolls from 2 years ago and I was wondering if someone has a Trinity male. For my they are too much but I also would like to purchase one them, not now obviously, but I would like to know your impressions about these huge dolls in general. Dollmore Trinity Male White Night

But I just got my White Night Trinity boy in last week. This is a picture of him on the left, and my Lusion Sleeping Dell on the right. Iple House HID, bald right now, and a Lumedoll... Usil? I think that's the sculpt name.

This guy is Huge! I love him! But wow is he a handful! I had to stand on his feet and hold him up, and push his knees into position... and then very carefully get his balance just right... He can stand on his own. But no way I would try outside on a windy day! lol

The jeans were a free gift. Trinity M Serenity Grayson is wearing a US boys size 4 shirt and US toddler size 10T shoes, which fit perfectly.
I got the cutest three-piece suit pattern in size 4 boys for Grayson. I am a beginner sewist. I think I might start with the bowties first...

@aernath - I don't get the BB code option when using an app (phone or tablet) - only when I'm using PC, if that helps?

That is Xin Meng Doll Magical Angel Iris. Since she's 1:1 scale and therefore off-topic, she just hangs out in the background. (She's 180 cm or six feet tall.)

Fair enough. She's definitely a 2-man-carry and dress doll. Thank goodness Spouse is a big dude. I could not handle her by myself.

Editing to add: @aernath - question for you. Did Dollmore super glue your mobility thigh and lower knee joints on your Trinity M too? I restrung Grayson today, and that was certainly a choice that they made. I can see the super glue in the joints.

@Ixiada If you can't find a black flower crown for your Lusion, try a dollar store for black flowers and hand-stitch them to a stretchy, fabric headband or hot-glue the flowers to a child's hard-plastic headband. The same would work for Trinity.

Dollmore has blown up my favorite sculpt (Zaoll Luv) and made her a Trinity, and I am so tempted. Even though the body is old and desperately in need of updating... I am still tempted. So tempted. A Zaoll Trinity. It's kryptonite for my wallet, y'all.

 

And Mio too! I absolutely love Mio

105cm is a complete impossibility for me (way too big, way too heavy) and I have her in the original smaller size anyway, but I love the faceup for the Trinity Mio. It is so soft and warm.

Zaoll Luv looks lovely, too. I can see why you would be tempted @MaleficentMrsofEvil! Since she's new, you should have plenty of time to consider it, though. Perhaps they will update the body at some point?

I'm still hoping for a Zaoll-size Lumie and Eugenia in the future. We'll see!

Yes! Super glue or hot glue in the lower part of the knee joints... I'm hoping hot glue because I would like to get it out of there. Though I guess they did it for stability?

I really want to get this big lug outside for pictures, but wow, that's going to involve a bit of planning.
I wanted to see if I could get a picture of him mowing the lawn, but he's not quite tall enough.
Then Christmas came faster than I could prepare for. lol Now spring is just around the corner and I have no ideas yet.

Hi all! I am in the planning stages of buying a Trinity! For my story I have three deities, two of whom will be represented by a Trinity Lumie and (I think) Klaire. One of my trio is a man, so I was thinking about one of the Trinity M sculpts, but They are sooo much taller than the girls! Not that that's a bad thing, but stylistically not what I'm really looking for. Does anyone have one of the Royal senior delfs or the male spirit doll they could compare to their Trinity girl so I can see how they look together?
