Thank you for the kind words about my Zihu twins! I love them to bits - their size, their bodies, their cute little faces XD... I'm pondering what to do with Clarissant's wild mop of hair. In fact I like the sheer mass of it, but I don't want it to look as if I couldn't be bothered to do anything with it :p. anjav, your Narshas look so sweet! Much more cuddly than mine XD... I like their soft, natural face-ups!
Hello! Just ordered my Narsha and am looking for clothes for her. Does she fit into Unoa clothes? the measurements are very close... Thank you
Domino again wants to say hello to all All the dolls are adorable Besselsleigh, I had never tried clothes UNOA
i think it would depend if there was a bust dart since narshas are flat chested and unuoas aren't also narsha arms and legs are shorter so you'd need to stick to short sleeves, capris or shorter skirts. if you can find clothes for iplehouse kids they fit more closely as they are the same height and similar build, also apparently clothes for the 14" tonner dolls
that seems to be a common problem/complaint and not enough companies sell bodies separately unfortunately. you usually have to find someone who wants to do a split or look for bodies on the marketplace.
gardenofdolls.com, have you looked at Iplehouse's website to see if they sell the bodies of their 35cm dolls separately? Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Besselsleigh, I haven't got a tutorial, but what seems to be the problem? If it's the little bar instead of a hook, I put my shoelace around the elastic in such a way that the metal bar stays in place, then put on the head, then carefully retract the shoelace. -Um, I should probably draw this? XD Can't take a photo of myself performing the 'operation'. Alternatively, I have been known to slip in an s-hook, put on the head, slip in the metal bar and retract the s-hook. I should probably add that my dolls tend to be loosely strung.
Here's my lovely old Narsha in Colvin jeans for Effner's 13in Little Darling! They fit perfectly! She has to wiggle her feet to get in, but they fit and look great! They even have pockets! Becky has them on sale today on eBay.
Your Narsha is lovely! I asked if Dollmore will have French resin for Zihu, but they said they don't have plans on making it. I really like the way French resin turns yellow, since I want mine to be an asian girl with normal sort of asianish skin tone...oh well, searching for the older Zihu now if there was any at one point..like did for Narsha.
Narsha Girl - Basic(Black hair) - LE99 is listed as French Resin and is still available on the Dollmore site. http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=99&b_code=B20021125011548 The Narsha Boy - Basic(Pale Blonde) - LE99 and Narsha Girl - Basic(Blonde) - LE99 were also French resin but are sold out now. The French resin is more expensive! PS: Mine is the basic black hair.
I had no idea it was that much more on the French resin...I'm really close to getting Zihu..Nancy, are you going to the korean bjd convention in Korea town in Los Angeles in April? I'm so excited already thinking about it. I'm not sure if I should wait until the show, or just get her now.
I don't know if I will be able to go to the convention. It depends on how DH recovers after surgery in January. It depends on your budget. If you can buy Zihu and still have extra funds for the convention, go ahead! They may not have her at the show. They have a lot of dolls and probably can't bring them all. Do you know if Dollmore has committed to coming?
Yes, it says they're commited..you're right...they may not bring Zihu..afterall, they have so many dolls to bring...and I don't want faceup, so I guess I should get her on line when I have enough to spare on a doll...I haven't gotten a new BJD in the longest time~sigh` o~well..I hope all will go well for you & DH?.
you could probably save the shipping at least by arranging to pick her up at the convention if you preordered her and had her bring her there.
Dollmore has backed out of the Korean bjd convention in Korea town in Los Angeles in April. That's too bad. I would have enjoyed seeing more dolls in person!
Aww, I'm sorry to hear that, nancy. They had a booth at Ldoll last year and brought an Elysia; I was delighted to see her for real. There were no Narshas, but I'd brought mine so I did some Dollmore advertising . Hm. If they are liable to back out of conventions, I guess it is not such a good idea to ask them to bring an order for me to pick up (I was considering doing that for an Alexia). I'll just have to come to terms with the fact that I'm doomed to horrid customs charges :p.
I would ask anyway. I don't think Dollmore would agree to deliver it at the convention unless they were sure they were coming. At least we don't have customs charges. It would just be nice to see them in person! I have an Alexia and an Elysia! I love them both!
I did ask, but going by their response, they were a bit stunned by the question. Possibly because I asked it now and Ldoll is mid October . They told me they would do it, provided I paid the doll in June. But I'm still wondering if it is such a good plan - if I travel by plane, like last year, I'd have to find a way to put her in my hand luggage (and limit my hand luggage accordingly). It might be more trouble to travel with her than to have her shipped. Also, Dollmore often ships really quickly, so I'd have an extra long wait if I wanted to pick her up. Speed, or taxes? I don't know. I'm still thinking (there is enough time, haha!). Alexia, Elysia and Narsha - do I detect Gu Mi-jeong love, nancy? I do adore her work. I think Elysia has the most beautiful doll face I have ever seen, but she is much too large for me XD. Alexia - well, I have an Alex whom I adore, a Hansel full set. I can't bear to customise him, but at the same time I'd love to work on one, so I'm thinking of getting a blank Alexia whom I'll paint myself. Very similar reasoning to the one that made me end up with two Zihus. It's my own little Gu Mi-jeong madness :p. I feel mildly ashamed for this lack of self-control, but at the same time I can't regret a couple of these lovely couples... That reminds me that Clarissant is still waiting for a new outfit. Meanwhile, another picture of her brother Lovell. Lovell, the Little Wolf by severelysigune, on Flickr
I ordered Narsha but didn't pay extra for sanding the seams. Now I wonder if I made a mistake? Has anyone else gotten her without sanded seams? and what did you think? Is it worth $65? scotty
I bought my Narsha on site at the Austin show many years back, I didn't have to pre-order her. She's one of the black haired limited girls in French resin. I believe those girls came already sanded, I didn't have to pay extra for it (of course, that was 2006...). Gardenofdolls, I'll be at the show, I can make sure I bring my girl I haven't gotten a chance to take pics of her since Pam re-did her faceup, so it will be a good opportunity.
I'm fairly sure mine has seams, and even if not, I have plenty of DM resin with seams and they aren't a thing. I've seen way worse. Definitely don't worry about it!
scotty, my two Narshas have seams, but they are barely worth mentioning. The only one of my Dollmore dolls who came with big seams (in his legs) was my Alex. I'm considering asking for seam sanding when I place my order for Alexia, but for Narsha (or Zaoll or Theo) I wouldn't think it necessary.
Thanks to clochette, VampireAngel13 and Sigune for your answers about seam sanding. It sounds like I don't have to worry about it!
i've been away for a few days so i'm a bit lat replying, but i have a deardoll and a narsha and i ordered both without the sanded seams. i figured since i was doing their face ups myself i could sand the seams too, but they didn't need it. the seams aren't any more noticeable than on any other doll i have so personally i wouldn't pay the extra.
I ordered my Zihu without the option of sanded seams and I was glad I did because he didn't even need it There were barely any obnoxious seams. It was very clean.
Hi everybody! Narsha is on my wish list, so I just thought I'd poke my head in here and look at all the lovely owner photos. All of you have some really gorgeous dolls! Also, this may be the wrong place to ask, but can anyone tell me if Dollmore Dear Doll is on-topic for DoA? I can't find a discussion for it, and obviously can't check the wiki right now. Thanks!
there is a discussion thread it's just really dead. here's the link but looking at it i can see no one has posted to it for over a year. not sure why, they are really cute dolls. if you revive it i'll pop over and join you
Thank you! I haven't got a Dear Doll yet... Narsha and Dear Doll Shabee are in the plans for 2014 (self-birthday-gift if I can swing it). i was just curious to know if Dear Doll was on topic, and if anyone else has one. I will check out that thread, though and probably just post a hello over there to see who else we can get to respond.
she is i have a narsha friend shabee and a dear doll shabee, my dear doll is in line for a new faceup since she is one of my oldest dolls and my first faceups, but the sculpt is really lovely on both sizes.
I love Shabee in both the Narsha Friend size and the Dear Doll size, but it was sweet little Dear Shabee that really stole my heart. I want a girl Narsha and a girl Shabee...they are perfect for two of my characters. I'd love to see a photo of your Shabees some time.
shabee stole my heart too and turned out to be a surprisingly versatile sculpt. here she is in the narsha size as ellyce ellyce by onebluestocking, on Flickr. i think she pulls off the more mature look of the larger body quite well. they actually use the exact same head for both bodies, which i found surprising. it makes the head a little big at the back of the neck on the dear doll body (which is covered by the hair) but the change in proportions helps makes the two sizes look different ages.
She's really cute! And she does look older than your Talia (I just saw Talia in the other thread). Wow...that's really interesting that it's the exact same head sculpt on both bodies. I should've guessed that, considering they're listed as wearing the same wig. The faceups on the Dollmore site do make them look different, though, and Narsha Friend Shabee does look older than Dear Shabee. It's okay that the head seems bigger on the Dear Doll body, in my opinion, as babies' heads are proportionally bigger in relation to their bodies. Maybe that is why Narsha Friend Shabee looks older. While I do adore Shabee very much, my planned doll in this size is going to be a girl Narsha.
narshas are lovely too, there are lots of them on this thread. as well as zihus which is the one i want next
Howdy folks! I haven't had time to share my Shabee much. She went out to an artist and got a new face up. She was back just in time for Christmas. I really do love this very child like sculpt.
Thank you Opal! My Shabee has been all over, from flickr to FB. Auntbear, your ellyce is gorgeous too!! Is that a default faceup?
