Well last night I fell in love with Calix and I plan on getting his head next week. Would i share him here? @VampireAngel13 , your Liv is gorgeous
Is this from May? Yikes. I didn't get notifications. I thought it was more active. Have been out of commission for a few months. (bad car crash) Here's Hrolf looking very contemplative and Halloween-y. .
I love how he is squinting at the camera! So many expressions you can get from him @petiteballerine . And gosh, I'm so sorry to hear you're going through a hard time I hope you'll be better soon
@petiteballerine I like your Timo above! I'm sorry to hear about the crash. I do hope you are recovering well.
woman in pickup truck hit me head- on . didn't see my red car on a sunny day. After 2 1/2 months walked without walker tuesday. yay, me. DOA has been a good place to visit, & today painted a doll head with music blaring. almost normal. still a bit to go. still have fractures but not so painful. I'm so grateful no hurricanes or threats to deal with!
Aw, you poor dear, but thank heavens you are still with us! Regardless of the pain, life is still worth it, and I'm glad to hear you are a tough cookie
Well, I finally ordered a Calix Ward head. I'm so excited to see him. I'll be putting him on a body I already have until I can get him his own
My first and original doll was a Glamor Model F Lisa Rubik bought in 2009 or 10 and I recently bought a Lasia head. Lasia head came in today and I promptly put her on the Lisa body and... Need to find a body now!
Congrats light the light! Lasia is super cute, I love her lip shape especially. As I am about to jump back to the Dollmore train I am browsing here looking at dolls and probably not helping myself... I used to own Dollmore Thinking Larme back in the day and since then I have been going back to Dollmore site to look their releases. I have been eyeballing especially Dollmore girls way too long and trying to make finally a choice this summer between few choices.
You must have disturbed him, he doesn't look pleased nor impressed @VampireAngel13 The look is familiar if you have any kids, LOL
I’m in need of flat feet for a 65 cm boy mine with at least 8cm feet. The doll more site has quite a lot of basic flat feet in stock but there’s no size for the women’s feet. (The men’s are too large at 8.8+cm …) Have emailed dollmore but no answer yet. Does anyone have the specs for their female feet?
based on the shoes I can cram mine's feet into, I'd say around 8.5cm (she can share shoes with some of my big dudes)
Does anybody know how a Model Doll F head would look on a Glamor Eve body? I'm considering oneday ordering, most likely a Mione Wixon head on that body if it look ok. If anybody have any image of any Model Doll F head sculpts on a Glamor Eve body, I'd love to see if that's ok
Yes! I have a tattoo Lasia head on a Glamor Eve body. There's a slight mismatch between the colors, but sizewise it matches just fine. I don't have any good photos already uploaded, but here's one and I can take more if you want!
Thank you so much, she look amazing on that body My worry were more if the head size would look off since it's meant for a Model Doll F size head. But even just in that picture I think she look pretty good! I don't have the chance to do any orders just yet because I already have some doll plans set up for the Luts special resin color, Summer event. But I'm working towards my first Dollmore SD sized sculpt in ages, so any images would be great
I'm planning on ordering from Dollmore and was wondering if the normal skin leans toward pink or yellow. Any help would be appreciated.
Best to ask Dollmore about the doll you want. I recently ordered a Zaoll size Elysia and then heard about a change to yellowish skin. They offered to do my doll in the prior pinkish skin.
Wow, she looks absolutely gorgeous! I’m not too familiar with Dollmore dolls, but she looks really great.
Dollmore was my first doll in like 2009 (Lingerie II(?) Lisa Rubik), and when I got back into the hobby last year, I ended up ordering a lot (like a lot...) of wigs and outfits from them to fit her, and had great experiences with their process, shipping times, etc. So when I saw the Tattoo Lasia head for sale on FB, I immediately knew I wanted to order a Glamor Eve body to fit with her! The color mismatch between head and body is greater in person (I use my phone to take pictures and it's not the best), but size-wise it's a great match. They're probably my favorite company.
I'm so glad you shared her; I really like the style and will definitely look more into their dolls from now on.
Last year when I ordered my Zaoll, I asked Dollmore Abby if they were planning to rework any of the older, single-joint bodies. (I think I may have miffed the sculptor...) Abby said that the sculptor was not interested in redoing any of the bodies except for the Trinity female body. I'm scrolling through all of the lovely pictures on Dollmore's website, as one does, and I see that Dollmore offers a Model F heel leg body now. Is that a peanut joint knee I spy? Also - my Zaoll is in "normal" skin, and she is very pink.
You might also want to post a request in Photo Reference. @SKYWHYS keeps the joint hopping with their fascinating "can you guess this sculpt?" questions.
ZAOLL BODY - do you find it fits SD13 and SD clothing volks size well? would love some feedback on it. Overall it looks slimmer?
Hi TreeLore! Sorry I took so long to get this pic taken to show that Zaoll girls are very petite compared to Volks SD and SD13 girls, both in height and body build. I think Zaoll girls might swim in some outfits. Also, there is a separate chat thread for Zaolls; sometimes it falls off the first page and gets "lost" for a while. /threads/zaoll-discussion-thread-part-four.728200
thank you!! so you do find the body hard to dress I would guess? It almost looks volks MSD size there...
@TreeLore, today I was redressing my Zaoll, and making note of how she differs (or is similar) to Volks SD size. Their torsos are approximately the same length, but Zaoll's legs are shorter. Her chest and shoulders are slim, and her hips a little broad, but not quite as big as Volks SD. Zaoll's feet are shorter, so some Volks shoes could be a bit long, unless she's wearing stockings. Dollmore doesn't offer a lot for Zaoll -- https://www.dollmore.net/Product/Category/list/cid/261 (clothes) https://www.dollmore.net/Product/Category/list/cid/343 (shoes) Fortunately over the years I've accumulated a variety of clothes sizes, but it's still hit-and-miss, and I improvise Most MSD size clothes might be too small, though.
I received my first Dollmore this week, a Model F "You Under My Raven Skin" Lisa Rubik. This is the best pic I have of her so far, I am nursing a leg injury and can't get up the stairs to where my doll stuff is, so can't dress her up or give her eyes&wig for the moment. I love her so much though Black Lady by jefvonk, on Flickr I've never owned a Dollmore Model and am a bit lost on what fits her. Most sellers use the size categories of SD13, DD, SD16 and EID/Feeple65 and it feels like she doesn't fit any of those categories very well, especially for stockings and such. Which one would work best?
Congratulations, and I hope you get well soon For sizing of clothes, I've found going with more mature SD clothes to be decent. So, DD (for large or maybe at least medium bust) may work decently. I have a Volks SD16 dress from back in the day that works beautifully on the Model Doll body. I've also interchangeably used Iplehouse SID and Model Doll clothes with each other's bodies, though SID tends to be a bit larger in the torso. I could see little girl style SD10 clothes not working out too well, but the Model Doll torso isn't super chonky like the SID tends to be. (Really, all of the Iplehouse ladies have chonky torsos, even my MSD-equivalent JID that's got the smallest bust possible, essentially no breasts, and it's hard to shop for her.) I'd say from shoulder to upper thigh, the Model Doll body isn't any longer than normal, but note that the legs are extremely long, so dresses and skirts will be leggier than originally intended. I've pretty much just stuck with Dollmore shoes for the Model Doll, especially when it comes to the high heels. Model Doll feet tend to be fairly large, and the high heel feet are very angled to accommodate very high heels. Thankfully, Dollmore has loads of Model Doll shoes for sale. Here is that Volks SD16 dress I was talking about. I bet it was intended to fall below the knee on an SD16 doll, but it's above the knee on my Model Doll.
@Robyn_in_WA - this is for you. One of my cats has taken a real shine to Alicia/Elysia. He sits with her all the time, and he's been known to headbutt her hands for pats (he has been thus far disappointed): She and I are impatiently waiting for her new duds.
Thanks @MaleficentMrsofEvil for the darling photo of your sweet kitty with Elysia! Elysia is quite lovely and looks like she’d do great pats for your kitty if she could! Thanks!!!
A tanned Keeley Sum is on my wishlist for next year. But I've heard their larger dolls easier chip in the jointed areas. I don't have him anymore, but I had a Model Doll M Haneol Moon ages ago and it were definitely the case back then. Especially behind the knees. Is it still like that?
I will say that I have 2 new Dollmore dolls. The Judith body (bigger MSD) is a nice, solid resin. She feels very sturdy and substantial. I don't expect to have chipping issues with her. The Zaoll body (50-cm tweener) is a very, well, soft resin. It's beautiful and lovely to touch, but I can definitely foresee it being very easy to scratch. I will not be doing much hand, feet, or head swapping on her. As was pointed out to me in the big Iplehouse doll thread, Dollmore uses multiple sculptors, so each line is almost like a different company. My (old) Model F body is what I would definitely call fragile. I restrung her and ended up adding a 5 mm grommet to her neck, cuz the S hook just burrowed into the resin like it was made of mozzarella. The resin around the joint ends is very thin and therefore prone to chips and cracks, solely because there just isn't that much material there. But also, it's an old body. I don't have a new one to compare (yet).
Oh, sorry for the double post, but I emailed that picture to Dollmore Abby. She thought it was hilarious - but also, the owner's cat just crossed the rainbow bridge last week. If anyone else wants to send their condolences, I'm sure Abby would pass them along. She said my cat was very "health." It's okay, Abby. We know he's fat. He's on a diet.
Ok. I hope that the newer bodies are a bit stronger now. But to be on the safe side I might put something in the joints and neck area just to be safe. I wonder if a layer of hotglue works a bit. There's also self adhesive bandage that I've been curious about trying even just as sueding in the joints.
You might also consider some UV resin? You can buy it in squeeze-bottles (like Elmer's glue) and just spread some round the inside of the joint at the bottom. Then pull out your little UV flashlight and cure it. I know they sell it pretty cheaply at local craft stores (or even cheaper online), and it's generally clear.
My Dollmore Model Doll Leah Cox is from late 2009, and the only thing that broke on her was one finger, and that was because I didn't package her well. I have had her head removed a bunch of times during dressing, and I haven't noticed any mozzarella effect, but I wasn't looking. She is strung pretty tightly head to toe, too. My Leah is the most regular of color, not tan or white, so take that for what you will. I heard that the little tab piece in the torso beneath the breasts is prone to chipping, but it's still intact on mine after all these years. Even if it chips, I don't think it would be visible, and it might actually help. EDIT: I just had my Leah's head off. I'm not seeing anything concerning where her S-hook rests in her head. No mozzarella.
You might be right about the size of the S-hook. While it's not alarming for me, I do agree that it's perhaps a bit large for the grooves despite me not really having any problems with it. EDIT: I took a few photos of my beloved Model Doll Leah today Here's one. Nearly 14 years later, and I am still in love with her And her legs
That's good I very much decided to get Keeley Sum. She's the one I've had my eyes on a lot of times before, throughout the years, even though I did not take the step to do the order. I'm hoping she'll look great next to my HID Falcon. I still have a bit left until I have finished saving up for Falcon. But I did start by ordering her, her clothes and shoes.
Keeley Sum is a gorgeous doll, and tan resin? Sounds amazing! I am excited for you and can't wait to see your pictures when she arrives!
It's going to be a hard wait! She'll be the best friend of my SID Omar (Andrei). Andrei are soon going to be sent for a makeover and become the freckled ginger guy he's always been meant to be She won't be dating either of the boys though because Falcon is Andrei's future husband.
OK. So after dropping $150 on someone's very expensive prescription food and scooping three litter boxes, I might be taking this a little personally... Left to right: Dollmore Trinity Alicia (now Elysia) The Turncoat Dollmore Zaoll Luv Dollmore Model F Mary Pierce Dollmore Dreaming Luv head on Dream Valley B56-01 60 cm female body, face-up by @Eyezofeden
My Trinity clothes are shipping tomorrow! Yay! I had a very interesting discussion with Dollmore Abby. I wanted to order the new Model F high heels body, because double-jointed knees! My conversation went something like this: Me: How do I order a doll with the high heel legs body? Abby - don't do it. Oblivious Me: can I order a full doll and ask you to swap, or do I order the head and body separately? Abby - you have to order the head and body separately. Fails to Take a Hint Me: adds head and body separately to cart. Abby - Don't buy it! It can't stand on its own! Get the regular Model F body, which is much better. So... apparently, they made the body to shut up collectors like me. But if you try to buy it, Abby will tell you not to.
That's hilarious! I wouldn't order them because I don't like that you're stuck with the molded high heels. I want shoe variety, and so would my doll!
My Kara Klum is finally here after a week of sitting at Tullamarine Airport! Here he is in the least-worst wig I had on hand with his sister, Magome, my Liebe Klum, who's at least 13 years old. He's a little bit pinker but their resin looks a near perfect match. He was well worth the wait – I love his grumpy little face
We... we all do this with our jointed hands, right? I feel like I have a new doll. The clothes are superb. Everything fits perfectly and was a snap to put on Elysia.
