Just letting you guys know that I'm starting to think that I might want another Pado or a Paran.... Very iffy... I do want another MSD I think that I can mess with more than Hiero in terms of face-up and stuff but I'm not entirely sure yet. Whoever I get will be the one subject to me testing things on.

they are dikadoll hands and in the yellow skintone, i was told that they would match but Lucan is way too peachy and the hands much too yellow. despite the color difference i really enjoy the hands, they seem to give him more personality and i want to play with him more too!!

Awesome hands, QMA, can hardly tell the difference in color, and I just love those hands! Gosh I really want a set!

Maybe you can sell those off and buy a new pair in the pinky tone? I bet that would match well? But until then, they're so cool, especially in photographs, I think they're keepers!

I kind of want a suntanned doll but I'm on concerned on how their yellowing process is.

Well, I'm still keeping my suntan girl in my room, and taking her outside only for quick moments to take photographs, but I think Captnklaus has had her D for a long time and he's only changed a little bit. I think Dollmore resin is Urethane not French and if you take care of it like you would regular resin (all resin goes yellow when left in the sun or under florescent lights, etc...) I think at least with Dollmore and regular care, you shouldn't have troubles. But my girl is still very new, I'll know better when I've had her a few years I have had a Dollmore suntan Banji for a couple of years, but he has always stayed in a box except when I'm playing with him. but he doesn't look to me like he's changed at all.

Captnklaus' boy is gorgeous, if his color has changed it is not noticeable, and in any event his color is very nice, not orangey at all. But don't tell her I said so. Joking. Seriously I get the chance to see him IRL at meetups, he is fab.

Ingie: Flourecent lights can do it too? OO; Wow. Well my boys are pretty much all living in their boxes for a while until I play with them, so I can see how a suntan should be fine... As long as it's not like, I know my friend has gotten an Iplehouse tanned doll and it went pretty yellow in a few months... So I suppose it's light conditions more than heat that effects them?

Well now, glad you think so, Stella

The Dollmore tan is very different from the IH tan.
I've had my boy for over a year, and I don't keep him in a box ever. He's out either on a shelf or in my cabinet, but more often then not he's exposed to sunlight and/or florescent light in one way or another. DM tan is very stable and I have had only minor changes in his colour that is barely even noticeable. Just don't keep it sitting in full sun all the time, and you're fine. But that goes for any doll.

And speaking of Dollmore tan, Saturday we had a mini meet up at someone's house.
D spent a good part of it trying to stay as far away from the others as possible



Until we stole him for a line up with a couple of MNFs and an SDC Kurt (who I really like now)


He doesn't like the fact that frog-boy is taller than he is
He has been feeling extra aggressive ever since ;3

 

Just adding my 2 bits about yellowing . I bought a Miro from DOA and she has been with Utsumie I think for about 2 years and she said she has palyed a lot with her and even slept with her and the coulor is just fine and even the elastics are just great which isn't happening with my Dollzone that I got in April . Her elastics are all loose and now I will have to resting her .
I think Dollmore is just great .
I think that if we have to worry about a million things how the doll might turn yellow we won't be able to enjoy them totally. If my girls yellowed I wouldn't mind too much as long as I have had a ball with them I bring them with me almost everywhere and have a zillion photos of them. What is the use of having these BJDS and not playing with them ?

I have some Iplehouse dolls in Real Skin now too, and I noted immediately upon arrival that they had a greenish hue to them, but it looked right, so I mentioned it, and one of the ladies said, "yes, that's why it's called olive skin" And then, LOL, I started looking at people around me (out in public n stuff) And I saw that it was true! There are people with a complexion that has a slight under hue that's greenish! Just like my doll! So my dolls being brand new, I knew that that was the standard I would go by, and if I saw a greenish under-hue, I wasn't going to freak out about it, and remember it was always like that, and that it looks good! It was more pronounced with my dolls because they had no faceups, but once I gave them faceups, it didn't look strange anymore Now I have seen the pictures of Iples that have gone green and they really show as green, I’m just saying, my imagination could go wild and I could, if I hadn’t noticed it, fret over the greenish hue . I do have my dolls sitting on my dresser, and I throw a baby blanket or three over them so the artificial light doesn’t bother them, just because it’s easy to do, and I want to protect them as much as I can

I think you're right scrollbrush! I think I'm going to make my DM girls the dolls I take with me places, just so I don't have to freak out about the light I only have one, just one little problem with my DM dolls and that's that their knees keep dislocating, but it's not that much of a problem, and being the only annoyance, man, these dolls are darn awesome!

I sneaked back in here because last night I performed "surgery" to turn one of my roommates DM kid boys into a girl. I have to say the boy body makes a good girl body. "Her" chest is only a little flatter, she looks skinnier due to the ribs showing and her hips are very girly XD
I'll be starting her face tonight...this is the first time I've ever done a boy to girl mod!

and, jumping into the yellowing conversation, I don't have tan, but if the color change the NS does is yellowing, I'm tempted to put all my DM dolls in the sun a little. I love the way my first Kara Klum and Pado (my two oldest) look, I want the rest to catch up.

IngieBee ~ if you can get your hands on some armature wire, wire your girls legs. I never had trouble with my Pado at all, but my Sona was so freaking kicky and annoying. That lasted two minutes and then I wired her. She has no issues whatsoever now.
Plus, the bonus to the armature wire is it can force them to hold half-bent knee poses. My Pado was standing sooo cute last night and it was due to the wire. I've tried thinner wire in the past and found the armature is the best. it works on SDs too, but is wonderful for MSD sized dolls.

 

Agreeing with VampireAngel. I never had much of a problem with knees dislocating, but I wired D's knees so he could hold those half-bent poses and it's done wonders. And it's so easy to do.
I ended up doing the same with my Narsha and my IH Tatiana (because those weird "hidden" joints would never come out and stay out right xP The wiring has helped though).

Oh, and thanks guys ;3 I think the ego boost is helping his sour mood, haha

That makes me be more at ease, knowing that the Dollmore is more stable than the Iplehouse tan. I agree that what's the point of spending the money on these dolls if they're just going to not look as good later down the line? Granted they arent *choke* Barbie(R), but most people don't spend 300-1k on a Barbie*.

That said! That makes me want to get a Tan DM for sure! I'm still batting around if I want a DF or a DM MSD for my next boy, but I won't get both. Can't afford it. I'll probably end up getting some clothes and a DM that I'll be happy with. I'm in shock actually how much I like Pado, but I'm not sure if I'd want two and have them be 'twins' or get a different one and have it be something else...

...Which brings up the idea of 'don't get snowballed'. Snowball effect is good for companies, bad for college students.

Sure they look like different types of cat girls. But they don`t have to be like sisters by blood. I could get this Impl doll the same kinda fluffy hair as Vanilla have. And smaller cat ears. I think they would have looked real cool together But I won`t buy her for ages yet anyway. I just thought she would have been a cute little sister to Vanilla. I`ve been thinking lately that one day I just gotta get vanilla a cat girl little sister. I`ve been thinking about that before to actually. INGIEBEE: Yeh, I'm also not too crazy about the knee caps dislocating too. I don't know much about other companies as I only have 2 other dolls which are Dollzone but one of them has a new double jointed body and the joints are just great, no problem
with the knees and can sit and bend beautifully. One thing I have to say about Dollzone is that resin is beautiful and come sanded
too but I still prefer the sculpts of Dollmore.

Yah scrollbrush, I do love everything about my Dollmore dolls except the knees. Love their arms! Wish they'd redo those knees and sell the leg parts for replacement some day

Ingie you are spot on. I can tell you for a fact since I spent twenty plus years in the makeup industry, that the majority of people have yellow undertones to their skin. Green does exist most certainly, and blues and pinks. However that is the minority. Most folk are yellow, with reds and pinks the next runner up.

I took some more pictures of my girl Vanilla. I would love to take her more out. But now I am keeping her as much out of the sun as I can until she gets her Dollpire hands. I don`t want her to end up getting hands/ paws that have different colors than her body.

Anyway here are some pictures of the most loved MSD girl I have ever had.

Only 2 pictures. On these pictures you can easier see her eyes. You could not see her eyes properly on the earlier pictures I took.

 

The are ^_^ My Bluefairy girl is actually wearing most of my Sweet Wind Memory Torrie's fullset outfit..The ears are pretty chunky though, which is a bit sad. I'd rather them be somewhat thinner.

yup manabusama she's a torrie. Her dress is a Dollzone 'witch' dress...and I had to modify it by snipping down into the skirt part and adding another snap--otherwise there is no getting it on >.< Still though, I don't regret my purchase ^^_^

 

OMGOSH! I think my Torrie head has arrived, I'm not that sure cause I have alot of packages and I have to wait until Saturday to see if it's the head or not. [My PO closed on Fri&Sun] =w= I'm sooooo excited though!

Anyone know how long it would take to get one with only a face-up, and wig/eye specifications?

 

I havent bought a doll from DM personally, but I think most companies takes about a month-ish? Quote from DM's page;

 

writerm: When I bought D, I ordered him with a custom face up and he took about 3 weeks.
He is also tan, so I don't know if that makes any different.
The wig/eye requests don't really take extra time unless the ones you picked sold out

 

I would say 3 weeks to a month for a faceup. The ones I've gotten have taken around that time. blank is much much faster...two of mine shipped after two days XD

and captnklaus is right about the wig/eye requests not making a difference in time, but if they are sold out of your request, they usually just give you something different, so you won't be waiting on that.

Looking at all the Torrie pictures here kinda makes me want one to. Torrie`s chubby cheeks are to cute Not saying I am going to get a Torrie. But I must admit that the Torries have made me looking at them plenty of times on Dollmores site.

But I gotta stop my self. Currently I don`t want to put any more dolls on my wish list before I`m done and finished with all the dollie stuff needed to be done on my list. Like buying a body for a floating head. Commission Illness Illusion to do face-ups on 2 of my dolls. Commission FiltyWaruMono to sew a little something for one of my dolls. And then Dollmore Miro is on my list of DM kids. She is going to be the daughter to Vanillas master Manabu.

Isaac is actually very beautiful and cute. She was the very first DM kid I looked at. But then I went for Vian girl instead. The first thing I thought when I saw Isaac was she would have made a great cat girl with her big cat like eyes.
So far I am only getting one more DM kid. And that is Miro girl because I have a SD guy at home that want`s a little daughter. And Miro look like a good daughter for him. But seriously how am I supposed to be able to only stick to 2 DM kids. Gosh I want so many of them that I go crazy
