Dollmore - Illua Doll Discussion Thread - Part 1

I am so thrilled to see this. I have wanted a Lusion since they came out but the size was a little too big for me. I might have to try to get one of these girls, they are beautiful.

 

I want to see a comparison of this doll with a regular SD and Lusion bjd.

 

I just can't decide if I like her this size or not... I've been trying to get away from the 1/4 sized dolls, but I LOVE Lusions (Dahlia in particular) and this version is SO much more affordable.

She's so cute. I don't know!

If I wasn't in the middle of relocating and getting a new job situated, I would order her in an instant. As soon as life settles done I certainly will be placing an order for her

 

I won't be able to get her for now, lots of thing happening, so no money to buy bjd, expensive hobby for sure

 

I'd be really interested to see what (if any) hybrids work for her! Hopefully some owners will share their experiments when she starts arriving.

I would love to see a comparison picture of this Dahlia with a Lusion. They do look really cute next to Trinity dolls.

Ohhh, this size is perfect for younger siblings of SD dolls! I'd given up on shelling one of my dolls little sisters because I personally find MSDs have too adult proportions to be a 10-12 year old sibling (no offense to those who like msd/sd siblings, it just isnt my thing!). So this is good news for me, I'm putting here up there on my wishlist

 

So lovely! I wonder what these girls would look like next to a Volks DearSD, or Dollzone 1/4 BB, or Luts Baby Delf. Illua are taller then all three, but have a similar feel and look to them.

 

She is wonderful! She actually makes me want the big one even more...So I could have a sweet little girl and her mini me dolly!

@ker246 It's possible that it does. I'm actually hoping that the height difference of 6cm is about right, because with Dahlia's slightly older looking face, I'm wonder if the Illua's could work as slightly older sisters or older versions of the dolls I mentioned above.

 

Me too!! I love this size, and I was just being overly weepy about moving on my full-size Lusion. And then the very same day? This announcement. Best of all worlds.

Here's hoping they release another basic set, as I'll be waiting a good while before I can purchase.

Ahhh mini Dahlia! I fell in love with Dahlia when she was first released because she reminded me of Yumiko Kawahara's Plants doll, but was hesitant to purchase due to her size and price. This size is perfect and I love how her sculpt/body is an exact mini Dahlia. I'm definitely keeping my eyes on future Illua doll releases to find my ideal Dahlia!

 

@ker246 I absolutely recommend the series to all doll owners! It's part of the main reason why I fell for this hobby.

I just realized that I can ask for custom makeup for these Illua girls. ...which means I don't have to wait for Dollmore to release my ideal Dahlia...decisions!

Here's a first picture of my Chocolat blanc! She is adorable! She is a wonderful size to play with. She is definitely bigger than MSD's!

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca She looks so pretty. How does she look with other SD dolls?

 

She does have the default Chocolat Blanc faceup!

She's about 19 inches and wears a 8-9 wig. I think she will work well with SD size dolls. Like a shorter friend! I will try to get a picture tomorrow, but these are the first pictures I have gotten in several months!

SD panties are too small but Zaoll panties and Hot Pants fit just fine!

I think some SD heads would work on this body.

 

I ordered a Chocolat Blanc Petit Dahlia on layaway and am halfway to fully paid!

Also, there is a 4th petit Dahlia on Dollmore now

@nancy_schroeder_ca Thank you so much for the pics of your girl, I am super excited to get mine now! I am curious from the time you paid, how long was the wait to get your doll?

 

@Studio404, I paid in full and got her in about three weeks! I think Dollmore must have started production on the first dolls before they announced them! I can't believe that will be a typical delivery time.

 

Well, maybe, but there are other dolls waiting and my photo time is limited at the moment!

There are other with new Illuas! Maybe they can help!

 

I'd love a picture of Trinity, Lusion and Illua all together but the Trinity and Illua one is pretty helpful.

So happy that nancy_schroeder_ca led me here! I am so crushing on this doll...I may have to have her! I sold my Lusion, but I still have my Trinity, I am wanting to recreate that photo for myself. I am thinking of the basic girl, but maybe the red head.

I just finished paying for my Chocolat blanc petit Dahlia! I'm so excited!
I hope the wait isn't too long! I didn't get a faceup, so that should help

 

I fell in love with the Renoir's Blue Coat Illua and ordered her on layaway. I have two more payments but hopefully will get her in the new year.

I vividly remember seeing this painting at the National Gallery in Washington DC when my high school took a trip to the US. Can't wait to see her in person.

 

Yes! I was planning on doing just that I don't have a big dahlia for size comparison, but you could at least get an idea about how the mold compares. (I also plan to make comparison pictures with some other dolls... msd, SD, baby delf, and I might have a dollzone 1/4 BB for the lineup as well, just depends on how soon the illua doll gets here!)

On that note, does anyone have an idea on how long it usually takes Dollmore to prepare orders? I have a ordered blank Chocolat blanc Illua doll and a bunch of random clothing, shoes, and accesories. I am so impatient

Also, just something extra that may be useful... the Illua doll shipping is something like $95 to the states so if you are thinking of ordering, keep that in mind as it may be advantageous to order enough to be eligible for free shipping

 

I have been in love with that pouty face for years and decided to take a leap and ordered a Chocolate Noir Dahlia about 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing more photos of other photos of girls as they come in!
