Dollmore Fashion Doll Discussion

Here's a pic of my Grace doll. Her skin is light tan and I purchased a wig for her. I too, have noticed that Dollmore seems to be under represented for some reason. I think they are beautiful dolls. I only wish they made high heel feet for Grace.

 

Ugh, unfortunately my RS bodies are "on Hold" in New York. I suspect it's because there aren't enough flights to ship things and they have a backlog now. Time to use trains again, I say

@IngieBee : AUGH, the SUSPENSE! Oh my, I can't wait for them to arrive!!! And yeah, I've had a number held up at customs more recently due to backlog. It will clear eventually! ^^

 

Yah, a pain in the bum though, especially when you really want everything to come home! Still, I'm pretty sure these two bodies will end up with Fairyland Minifee heads on them, and the Dollmore heads will end up on Withdoll bodies, but it's still exciting to see if these bodies would work as well! Also, I think I'll have an extra body as I really only want one for my minifee. I got two just in case the withdoll bodies don't work out. I know I can always use a body! LOL

 

AAAH I got my shipping notification!!!! So excited!!!!! My Thelma head is on it's way!!!! Ooh I do hope it works on the Withdoll body I have - I really want to start making her a dress but I'm superstitiously holding off until I see if the hybrid works for real. I do hope shipping doesn't take too long, I'm so excited to see her!!!

 

Oh my goodness, I'm crazy excited for both of you and just canNOT wait to see the hybrids!!!!

(Also, I totally, totally wanna see a Minifee hybrid on that Shi body~)

Oh @TasiaChiba I just saw that they delivered the package to someone in Boston. Now I'm virtually positive that it was addressed to me in California at one point on the website, but now it's addressed to someone in Boston. I just wrote to Sun, but have no idea what happened

 

Yes, I intend to put her on the original Withdoll body, if it works, but I'll try her on anything that looks like it might work and take pictures to share to help you all.

I think that's the best I can hope for, but Sun didn't answer my email, which makes me feel like they are confused and trying to figure out what happened. But it could just be they didn't get to emails today??? I can only think about the worst case scenario.

 

Happy to report that RS simply sent me the wrong tracking number. The new number they gave me shows it's in customs Los Angeles and should arrive by May 3rd, thank goodness! I got really bummed now I feel a million times better and excited again

Oh, it's so awesome, my bodies arrived! I had to change out the S-hook of course (far too big) and I'm hoping these can go with my incoming MNF heads still (great match, OMGosh!) and I still want to use the withdoll bodies, but these really look great. The only thing is the hands are a bit too big. It may not be a big deal to some, normally I love big hands, but as these are to be "fashion" dolls for me, I am looking forward to Withdoll hands which look really small. Still, for my MNF, the hands are perfect

The shoulder width isn't too bad either Oh, and she is wearing jointed hands too But the regular hands are exactly the same size (and absolutely gorgeous too!)

BTW, I special ordered the color, and in daylight they are 99% correct which is mind boggling to me as I went through a process to get the closest Pantone # to Fairyland Normal. It's so close, just slightly yellow/browner, but not darker and hard to see. I simply couldn't be happier

 

One really great thing about this body is that she can wear some Tonner doll clothes. I think this is intended for Ellowyne Wilde

Oh, it looks so much like the Mei body, only double jointed. Is it smaller than the Rong? It looks so good!

As for hands, I agree. It's the only draw back I'm having atm. I literally just got in a pair of Ring Doll hands today. They're a definite improvement, but still on the large size. =sigh= However, they are gorgeous hands!

 

@TasiaChiba Yes, I think it's a little smaller than Rong in the hips, or at least narrower, certainly looks it, let me pull them out next to each other.... Ugh, I can't find my tape again. She couldn't get the dresses I put on the Shi body on, her bum was too big. So I think the Rong body is just a bit bigger, though visually it's not a great difference. There is more difference in the heights, with Shi being taller with longer arms, and maybe a longer torso as well. And Shi also has broader shoulders, more realistic proportions.

 

Oh, I would definitely like to see that and compare some measurements. I have a feeling it really is a double jointed version of the Mei/Lan single jointed one like I have! Or a slightly larger one.

I'll try to take more pictures tomorrow Posing n all Aesthetically it is a lot like Mei, but indeed bigger, broader shoulders too. Sun said the Shi body doesn't ccme with the thigh joint but I requested it and they did it for me, and I'm super glad, as she can pull up her knees very nicely

Ah, that's great to see the bodies arriving!!! The proportions look really good! Meanwhile, I'm trying not to sit here constantly refreshing the tracking on my order... so far it's got as far as the airport in Korea.

Actually, they are! Raccoondoll hands are, too, but still too big for the Mei body. I'd honestly think both would be perfect for that Shi body! I was honestly thinking of eventually giving them to the Dawn centaur body I need to buy as I think they will be perfect. (Which uses the Shi top, if I recall. ) I can see the comparison with the Tonner, and the Mei is closer in size if I remember correctly. But yes, it's a slight difference in size, but enough to be noticeable. I'll try to get some comparison photos of all the hands I have in that size together! I have Minifee, Unoa, Resinsoul, Raccoondoll, and these Ringdoll hands. =thinks= Hrmm... I believe that's all, lol. I mean, aside from my meat palmy MSD and old DollZone, lol

I'm planning on blonde hair and a Renaissance dress.

 

Ooooh, pretty, I'm doing similar with two of my big girls Late medieval to Renaissance

 

SHE'S HERE!!!! And I'm so excited about it!!! I'm glad I waited before starting to make clothes though as she's going to be on a completely different body and have a different hair colour, so I'm still sorting that out, but she's so cute!!! Now, without further ado, what you've all been waiting for: the hybrid options!



Left to right: Dollmore FMD Thelma head on a Minifee body, a Withdoll original body, an Impldoll Child body and a Souldoll Kid General original body.

Thoughts:
The FMD head is a very pale pink and so it doesn't match anything I have - NS is far too dark on all of them, WS is probably too light and all my dolls are dreadfully yellowed! So blushing to match might be the best bet? Also they all look a bit weird here but much better with wigs on!

Minifee: Propertions look surprisingly good but the neck is too thick and doesn't fit well at the back so movement is limited. Long hair would hide that okay, but neck modding might be needed for any movement. I didn't think this would work but actually I think it's my favorite?!

Withdoll: the body I intended to use but it's a big fail!!! The neck is far too long and the resin match is awful! However - sanding down the neck would work fine I think, the proportions are otherwise good, and Withdoll do a Rose White resin which I suspect might be a good match (Or blushing could work). Unfortunately this is the discontinued original body though, not sure how the new one would be - you can compare them here: :::::::::: WITHDOLL ::::::::::

Impldoll: Not bad, it's a cheap body at least, but I don't know what the match for NS is like. Proportions are actually good, it's just not my favorite body aesthetically, but it might suit others very well!

Souldoll: another long discontinued body, sorry - and I know the NS match wouldn't be good as it's much pinker. But...I really love the look of this head on the body??? Even though it's really yellow and doesn't match at all? So that's my plans changed! Proportions are good, although I should note I bought this body modded and the neck was made smaller, so I'm not sure how the original was.

So that's what I've tried so far - it's evening now and I've lost the light, but I can take more pictures tomorrow if anyone wants some, like close ups or head fit from the side? Or in wigs and clothes? I also have some boy bodies I can try if anyone is interested, and also the Little Monica Hot! body that I didn't get time to try out - so sing out if any of that's of interest!

Ha, so she was going to be blonde and on the Withdoll body, but instead she's going to have either red or black hair and be on the Souldoll I think - here's a sneaky picture of that!

At least I'll finally get to use that wig? And the Withdoll body can have a Raccoondoll head one day instead.

 

I really like all the bodies, except that I would have to adjust the neck. But the souldoll body is an excellent choice, love it! Also, I'm shocked that the Impldoll body works! Yah, I knew the resin color would be super light as I have some Dollmore Kids and knew I'd have to match the body colors. I have an Impldoll young body that is rather new, but it doesn't look like that. I'd have to unstring her though because she has a mnf neck adapter on her, but I think I might do that because I'm curious She is way chunkier than other minis I have.

 

Ah yes, the impldoll Child body is A LOT smaller than the Young body - both are MSD though. I have the male Young body and it’s huge!

 

Oh ok, so is the child body still around? I never saw it before?? Anyways, I think all of them could work, and I am feeling really excited to get my Withdoll bodies even if it's going to be some time yet

 

Huh, I just checked, and the impldoll child body does seem to have vanished! Which means I pretty much only took hybrid photos of discontinued bodies, how useless was that! Sorry everyone!

Okay, phew, I finally had a day off! Here's all the slim mini hands in the house, outside of Song, because I forgot his hands, and my DZ are really too old to be of use.

I also want to point out that the right hand (here) of the Ringdoll hands does appear to be smaller. I know it's curled inwards, but it does look to still be a smidge smaller anyway. Otherwise, they are just gorgeous hands! And I think they'd work even better on the Shi body.

I'm still on the lookout for smaller hands, though, so if anyone knows of any potentials, lemme know!

 

There's also the Iplehouse FID hands you can buy seperately - about the same size as Raccoondoll hands, but much more elegant looking!

 

Oh yes! I would have loved to have bought them for my RD girl, but she's Milk Mocha~ Still, hrmmmmmm I bet they'd work on that Shi body? This is a good possibility! O_O I think I'm taken by getting one, lol. I had planned on getting a Rong body for some of my floating heads, but I Like how that newer one looks. And I'm always on the lookout for expressive hands, heh

 

Wow, the raccoon doll hands are smaler than any of the others? I'm shocked, really! I didn't even look at my Iplehouse FID hands to compare and wow, they are about the same size as my Impldoll. I'll have to check with my ResinSoul hands

 

@IngieBee : Oh, that's exciting! And actually, the Ringdoll hands are almost identical in size to the Raccoondoll, it's just hard to tell, haha. Not to mention, that left hand is a bit flat, so makes it look wide. The nails, though, are just gorgeous sculpting and what drove me to try them. Minifee hands are the right length, but super wide (wider than my image because they turned a bit sideways).

Speaking of Impldoll, does anyone have the Fashion Doll Body? I have a feeling the neck is too thick, but I wondered if it was a possible option.

 

The Impldoll fashion doll is really cute but it has short arms and tiny hands! Which means maybe those are the hands I ought to get??? I've been wanting to get Eva. Another problem though is that Ava's hands are sort of clawed out. I don't know why impldoll has been making all their hands that way, it's not the best look for most versatile hands to have. There are a few fashion type Barbies or something that might work, or we could still get the dollmore hands?

 

And here's the last of the hybrids I can try: the Little Monica Hot! body. (Yes, that's what it's actually called).

Resin match for normal skin is terrible, as with all the others, although the body does come in White Skin too. Neck is a bit thick and would probably be better with some sanding but proportions are generally good. Note that she's on the high heel feet, and I put different hands on her as I didn't like the sausage fingers she came with.

They're Iplehouse hands - I'm pretty sure they're FID but it could be JID - I've ordered both before and I've forgotten which ones they are??? But I'm pretty sure it's FID! The colour match is bad but oh well. But yes, the Dollmore head looks really good on this body too!!!

I'm resisting stealing all the bodies for these dolls so I can have my doll family in scale - that said, I am SO tempted to go ahead and order another FMD head while they're still on sale!!! I don't suppose anyone owns a Mika or has found other pictures of her? I really like her but I want to see more!

Decided I need another FMD head for my two "teen" characters, the other one I think I'll use the Withdoll body but alter the neck, it just doesn't look right with the Raccoondoll head next to the FMD - as an older character, sure, but not the young one! So now I have to decide between another Thelma head, who I think looks young enough, or a Mika... it would be kind of nice if they were different sculpts I think?

 

ResinSoul must really just have big hands! Does anyone know if Dollmore has layaway? And yup, they look like FID hands unless they changed the sausage hands the JID GIRLS USEDTO HAVE??-

Note, they did update the JID hands, and I'm going to bet those are JID simply because they do look so small, and my 'RS hands are the same size as my FID hands REALLY good to know

 

@morganatron , what size eyes do you have in your Thelma please? I have some, what I believe are size 6, but they seem too small . Thanks!

@Bristol oh no my only holdout on buying several of these lovely Dollmore guys and gals was lack of a long layaway. My fate is sealed and now another portion of my paycheck will be off to Bjdivas.

 

Awesome, Thank you @morganatron I need to order some and I think I know which ones I want. Hopefully they won't be too warped to word (hand made I think). I think I am going to have to do a lot of neck modifications on my Withdoll body when it comes But it should still work!

Once again I have no self control and went right ahead and ordered a Mika head!
Stupid as I could have ordered the two heads together last month, but I wasn't sure the hybrids would work, and now I have my cute little devil I naturally need a cute little angel to hang out with her! Not entirely sure which hybrid body I'll use or even which girl will have which head - but once it's here I'll work it out and then they can finally get their face-ups I hope!

So it's back to the anticipation of waiting for a doll to arrive! And at least I can make the first girl her clothes in the meantime!

 

LOL @morganatron I'm eyeing Erico and Jaden, that would be a long layaway, so I'd have to order through BJDivas. I can't do it for a few months, but I'd love to now see what the original body is like.... mayb I'll be bad and get another head too, rOFL

So I got size 8 eyes with 3mm iris. The iris still looks a bit small for Sara but works perfect IMO on Eya. Still, I wonder if I could get size 10mm in those eye wells because I do see space still in the corners?? Size 10 with 3mm iris? You think they exist? LOL. Anyways, I am going to wait until I get some lashes in the girls before I buy more eyes to try


I'll probably get Sara regular 8mm eyes, they fill the well perfectly. Which is counter intuitive!

And Eya, though with smaller looking eyes, has wider eyes I guess. And the eyse just don't seem to fill in at the outer corners, though they're perfect on the inner corners. Hum not sure what to do??

But man, I love these dolls. I can't wait for my other two bodies to arrive so I can make a final choice as to what they will get and match their faceups to the bodies So exciting still!

Eya may be a little bit too prim and proper. Sara will hopefully get her to live a little and into some trouble, LOL

 

Ugh, I really want my girls to get assigned to their new bodies so I can do a proper faceup, install lashes and dress them nicely! Has anyone made progress on their girls? Or boys?? The thread has gotten too slow!!
