DollMore Catish Dolls discussion part 1:

[MENTION=26432]Ryuichi Sakuma 13[/MENTION] That's horrible to hear! Where on her head is the staining? Is it the head cap or on the main head/face aswell? I soak parts with stains in rubbing alcohol and have had great results. Is there anyway that you could soak the parts stained and avoid getting the soaking solution on her face-up?

 

dark wigs unfotunetly can possibly stain any doll...that really sucks. I have the same wig that came with my black resin catish girl I'll have to make sure to check my doll that I put the wig on.

tracking # from Dollmore doesn't seem to work so I'm just playing the I'll just be surprised when my 2 girls come in game..lol. Of course I'll probably get a lovely slip in my mailbox.

 

Unfortunately, its in a ring around her head, wherever the wigcap's elastic band sits. I've had this happen before, but never this bad, nor on a LE doll. Usually I wash the wig and use magic eraser on the doll's head, but this time, with her being a LE, having a otherwise really nice wig AND having a limited faceup....

I'm hoping that if I soak the wig in a vinegar mix, it'll get the dye to set. I"m going to do research on what others have done to help/prevent this problem. I'm also going to chronicle this via pics, maybe in the Workshop area of DoA. If I do, I'll link it here so that others can fix/solve this problem should it happen to their LEs.

Hi. Just thought I'd ask. Catish fits pretty well into MSD top bits, as long as the dress/top doesn't have tight sleeves. Has anyone found a solution for dressing the legs and feet? SD pants, tights and shoes are too big, while her hips are wider and her legs longer than the average MSD.

 

I only put her in dresses, so I can't say I've had problems with things fitting. I put MSD stockings and bloomers on her with no trouble and all my MSD shoes seem to fit as well.

Yep got the slip in my mailbox Drat. But at least I know they are really close my fiancee will pick them up on Mon so first thing after work I'll be able to open them up so excited.

Length on pants can be an issue but I'm sure most stretchy leggings will fit well on the Catish girls..maybe one made for Doll Chateau MSDs since they have long legs as well. For shoes maybe look for slim fits that might fit minifees...I can't remember where I got my heels for my girls..I think they are made for the 22" american model dolls...at least I know the open toed ones work well but the closed toe can be tricky. The others I have are Ready to Rumba shoes also open toed that fit Cissy dolls (6.4mm). I have the flat feet as well but haven't really had a chance to try them on the MSD shoes I have though I do know the few Dollmore shoes I have are too big.

Update: My girl arrived! will have to take some better photos but here is a quick pick. Her name is Zhukova after the Russian fashion designer.

Well, customs did finally release my girl and only with a small charge so I went to collect her on saturday and I am in love! She is absolutely stunning and her default make-up is so much better in real life I've named my girl Ouzel and here she is without her wig, so you can see the lovely blushing in cream and deep pink on her ears (they look like petals).

 

These dolls are stunning. As you say, pictures don't do them justice.

 

Congratulations, beatnik! Your Ouzel looks lovely and yes, her ears do look like pretty rose petals - they really did a beautiful job on her!

Here's a picture of my Black Lac Reaa (customised face-up) and Pink Fluxus Dreaming Reaa for comparison. I had thought the only difference was the eyes, but the head overall is smaller and the features much closer together than the standard Reaa head sculpt. I would love to see more of these dreamy eyed girls!!!

I've been intrigued about how the black resin looks in real life and can't help but feel that these darker resin dolls would benefit from a lighter face-up to enhance their features.

I understand the difficulty in taking pics of black cat dolls, Natawik. I happen to have a Black Catsy and it can be a real challenge to take pics of her, but I do think they're worth the effort, especially when the pics come out as nice as yours did! She's such a lovely kitty, too!

If it helps anyone in the clothing department, I recently ordered the Luts Model Delf clothing set-Shining Purple and it fits beautifully on my girl. Their measurements are very close to the Catish girls, so the other girl clothes should fit. Just make sure you don't get anything marked KDF only, since those dolls are a similar height to the Model Delfs, but are built like regular MSDs. :b

I love my Russian Dream boy! The gray resin is fantastic..I really thought about getting the girl one as well but decided to just stick with one gray kitty...I'll hold off to see what other beautiful catish dolls they have in the future.

I've been comparing my current two girls and it would appear that not only is the head on the dreaming catish smaller, she is also shorter than the standard catish girls as a result. Here they are side by side, looking decidely marshmallow in colour

The resin on the pink fluxus has much more tooth than the white resin which is lovely, however her thigh joint spins whenever I sit her down so I've applied a very thin layer of PVA to help things grip together better

I am so looking forward to finishing my layaway on Melancholy Mink!

 

hmm I know mine is shorter because she has flat feet guess I didn't look that closely same with the head I just thought the dreaming one had more closed eyes..lol not very observant am I. You will sooo love Mink, her resin color is simply gorgeous! Now that I'm think about it maybe I'll take that photo of all my Catishs that I keep saying I was going to..lol

[MENTION=50765]Kitty Blue[/MENTION] your catish crew are gorgeous! The Mink resin reminds me of the same resin they used for the LE Blossom Paran and Vian dolls which are stunning but they just don't fit with my desired aesthetic at present.

At present I have two more of the existing catish releases on my wishlist, so I think once my current layaway is done I may be placing another one shortly after.

I really wish I would have jumped on the lalasweet it sold out so quickly since it was a limit of 10..also contemplated getting one of the Rule the World glow in the dark ones..really liked the outfit on the Red version and the faceup on the white version. I'm doomed if they ever come out with more in fantasy colors. I just got a Pipos Minuet in Cranberry Lavender that I'm absolutely in love with..I'll have to try and do some comparison vids/photos of all my kitty anthros including my Luts ones.

 

What an adorable litter of resin kittens! I love the way they're all lounging around in supreme comfort. Cats are the masters of getting comfortable.

 

lol..very true it is their nature..all my Kitties are named after fashion designers, they have a sort of backstory of living amongst a fashion house in France..so I'm trying to create a certain look for each one..unfortunetly never enough time. Here is another of them all posing..lol. And yes my black kitty seems to look shorter than the mink one...not sure why that is they are wearing the same heels I'm going to have to take a closer look at them later. My pink girl is wearing platforms so I know why she looks so tall...lol

I have been working on redoing one of my girl's face-ups. She was originally a Black Lac Reaa and somewhere along the way she ended up having her default face-up wiped! She came to me with a nice custom face-up which I originally altered but have now decided to replace altogether. Here is my first reworking...

This bound to get a few more attempts before I decide I am happy with the results!

I stuck with the same raspberry lip colour, but used mint green eyeshadow and shading on her ears and pink blushing as before. I just need to find some wigs to match her new look!

Beatnik, that custom face up is very pretty. I would love to do faces someday but I don't have a good place to work with MSC. So, no face upping for me.

Miss you all! You're making me want to take my girls out of their boxes and play... and try to get a Judith body for my Pink Eyed Hybrid Weird Catish Doll (whose name is now Bonita Trouble Pussy after my late husband's first cat and all the hassle she has given me... hehehehe!)

In respect of face ups I steer well clear of MSC and have found a non-toxic option with liquitex matte varnish, so that's an option worth looking into if you want to do your own face ups at some point.

It's been a while since I got her, I remember that I had bought extra feet for her and several pair of shoes, so I don't even remember if the flat or high heel feet came with the original doll. And I don't remember if there where shoes with the doll itself, sorry.

I have another crazy question. What clothing do you fit your girls into? The Judith body is fairly… Mature… So I'm not sure if regular MNF clothing would fit.

 

Another question - do any of you use wig caps for your Reaas? If so, do you cut holes and poke the ears through, or slits and slide the ears in from the outside? (did that make sense?)

 

Shoes should be included with the Catish dolls all of mine came with them..as for high heel vs flat feet it depends on the catish mold my new pink girl came with the regular Judith hands and flat feet..the mink and black catish girls were suppose to come with flat feet but mine came with heel feet however they ended up sending me flat feet when I inquired on it. As for wig caps since the wigs have the slits for ears I've not had to use wig caps.

BTW did anyone see the new catish girl...I really like the yellow wig they way they have it styled..she's cute but not quite for me. Her name is kaleidoscopically : Dreaming Reaa http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=14310

No. She doesn't need a wig cap, as Kitty Blue explained. However, on other dolls, I use thin strips of moleskin as a wig stopper. This is the best method I have ever used

I've been visiting the Dollmore site since the first Reaa dolls were released! I just have not found the right time to order one, but I really do want one

I have finally gotten started though, only it is a Kid Zuzu Delf CURLY boy that I have ordered. One of my many BJD plans is to have a family of anthros. And it won't be complete without a Catish Reaa

 

Kitty Blue, I have been browsing your delightful Flicker pictures. Who is Harmony, (not that I need another doll)?

 

Some one mentioned Zuzu Delf. I have two cats who are totally, totally delightful. Does anyone have any suggestions for clothes for them?

Gaaahh I'm totally in love with the Catish girls, especially the Mink, the dreaming Pink Fluxus, the Russian Dream and the Melancholy Black Reaa. I'm really tempted to order one while they are still available but I just can't decide on one out of those four! At first I was super smitten by the black Reaa but I'm scared that her black resin won't take pastels that well and make the MSC look cloudy (I like to do my own faceups). Anyone with the black Reaa can help me with those concerns? She looks stunning in the company pictures but her faceup isn't quite bold enough for my taste and her body looks too shiny, I guess it wasn't sealed. Argh this is driving me insane because I can only afford one Reaa right now and am afraid that those four will be sold out soon. My second choice would be the Russian Dream Reaa, which is not quite as dark and I like her dress more. But I already have one grey kitty incoming (Pipos Derek) and am really fascinated by black resin.
The again the Mink Reaa looks super beautiful and the face of the dreaming Pink Reaa is so adorable! Can you see my dilemma?
So I guess my question is, are there any owners of the black Reaa and how does she photograph? Any other help in my decision, please..?
Oh and am I crazy or did Dollmore offer layaway until recently? I remember reading about it a few months ago but now it seems they don't offer it anymore.

 

[MENTION=54431]Zomboid[/MENTION] Unfortunately I can't help with your query about the black Melancholy Reaa, but I own the pink fluxus dreaming girl and she is stunning in person I've also got Melancholy Mink on layaway (only one payment left woohoo) so I'm really looking forward to her arriving. Both of these girls have been ordered on layaway, which they don't advertise on their site but they do offer it and they offer very very very long layaways on big orders too. You just need to add up your order and ask what terms they can accept via the 1:1 contact option and once you've agreed the conditions you can put the order through and note the agreed layaway terms in the comments box, they'll then send you your first invoice.

Hmm that is indeed a very tempting idea, but I still can't decide on a Reaa! The pink Fluxus has such a nice face but I've always wanted a very dark resin doll, but is the black too dark?! Argh this is too hard lol. I think I'll wait until my next paycheck in three weeks and hope I made a decision (I hope they are all still available until then!). I agree that the company face-ups on the dark resin really do it much justice, so maybe this is something you could change if you order one? That said though, I think the Russian Blue girl would be a perfect compromise if you feel you can't quite convince yourself to order one in black
