Everyone's' dolls are so cute!

 

Thanks so much!! I'll have to use it more often, then! It's a nice way to display the smaller dolls!
My little brother let me borrow some of his easter candy for my pictures :p
I will! I do agree that tere's too little yiyi out there--when I was looking at dolls to pick one I liked, I could hardly find any owner pictures of her sculpt! Though most of my collection is filled with uncommon sculpts, lmao!
Thank you about the dress though! I got that one from MegannArt over at etsy! It's a pretty high quality dress, too!

I have to say, though, Francie is a cutie too, I love how the darker hair colors look
As you can tell, i go a little overboard buying dresses for my girl

Wow! That is one gigantic flower garden Alice has come upon! I absolutely love seeing all the dollies too! That nautical themed outfit sure is the cat's pajamas!!!!! Awe, she sure does have a cute string baby there! Thanks for sharing her with all of us!!!!!!!!!

Oh gosh the green eyes really go well with the blonde hair, and the photo's got great composition, too! Alice is a total cutie

 

It's so fun taking the little ones to the park! And that dress is simply adorable! Where did you find it?

 

This dress is actually 3 pieces including bloomers, a blue dress and an elaborate white apron. I bought it from.... I think mybayer2008 on ebay but I believe I saw the same dress listed on mintoncard. They call it something like 'going to grandma's' on their site. It's as close as I could find to a AiW type dress in my comfort price range. Here's a shot of her in just the blue dress without the frilly white apron part. I'm sorry if I have posted this pic before. I was quite proud of this flower too last year.

I really like Yoyo, her face is super cute, and there's also a sleeping head of her.
Not to mention DollLove sells so many different hands for their yoSD line and I love that too.
I wish more companies did many hands.

My favorite size is YoSD so I'm always looking for cute sculpts to add to my collection

 

That's so true! There are many hands for the dolls. I almost got some for Francie, but I have to admit I'm probably much too lazy to swap them out. I've had her for about a year, and her strings are still so tight! Yoyo does have two heads! I love having that option! It's always best do take your time with getting a doll, it makes it that much more special when it does happen.

 

Do they not seal the faceups or something? My You You just had her right eyelashes come off when I was trying out new eyes, and they took part of her eyeliner with them. Thankfully it's just the plain black part around the edges of an eye, and not the eyeshadow, but I'm really kind of freaked out. :'( It contributed to a really bum day yesterday... Has anyone else had this happen?

Ps: Seconding that You You is very tightly-strung! Her head popped off yesterday (ouch, that just sounds so bad out of context, doesn't it? ^^ and it was really, really difficult to get back on. I ended up hooking the elastic with a large screwdriver and using it like a lever: it's a miracle I didn't break something- on the doll, or myself!

 

@sprinkles Oh no! that sucks !! They probably seal the face ups, the glue might have taken some layers of sealant with it when it came off, and with the sealant off it goes the paint as well, especially if it was acrylics (which is probably what they used as black liner).

Hope its an easy fix? If it only took paint from where the eyelashes were, maybe glueing a new pair would cover it.
Make sure you use a non permanent glue. Most people use elmers or an equivalent (it's a white glue that dries transparent and is often used in school projects, at least here). It's good because it is resistant but it becomes softer with water, thus making it easy to remove the eyelashes later on.

@mollym I'm lazy too but I think it must be so much fun being able to pose the hands in different ways! Soemtimes I get bored taking photos of my tinies because their hands lack movement and that limits what I want to do with them for some photos.

 

@sprinkles I think the faceup is sealed, but the glue peeled it off along with the eyelash. I had to re-glue an eyelash as well. I used Aileen's clear gel tacky glue.

I'm sorry you had a bad day. Do you do your own faceups or know an artist? Sadly, faceups don't last forever if you handle your dolls, and what fun would it be to not handle them? Once you recover from the initial shock, you may think it's not as bad a defect as you did at first. Maybe no one else would notice the tiny bit of eyeliner is gone? Take a deep breath. She will still be pretty even if she's blank.

@Ellesmera Yeah! I wish more companies had different hands too. Fairyland has lots of hands as well. More and more of the bigger doll companies are now making jointed hands, and that's neat. I'd love to see some different hands on the baby Doll Loves. I wonder how consistent the resin color is with Doll Love...... hummmmmm......

I can do faceups a little bit... but I think that I may just leave it that way. It gives her more personality!

I just ordered some eyes and wigs from Alice's Collection, where I first got her; hopefully she'll be looking a bit more presentable soon!

 

I've looked at their other hand options and it is impressive how many they've gotten! It is nice to have a variety, especially if you're not happy with the defaults. I'm pretty happy with Zéphyrine's open hands for most pictures.
I love YoSDs as well, so I can understand that!

Awww that jumper is so cute, mollym! I love seeing Francie's adventures in the thread.

And I'm glad to see your issue got resolved, sprinkles, though I have to say I had a similar experience with my girl, too! One day one entire row of her eyelashes fell off...I just kind of said "bah!" and pulled the other side off to match,though.
But little things like that is what gives each doll its charm! I can't wait to see your doll when all her items arrive!!

I'd like to post more of Zéphyrine today, too! I took another doll's scarf and turned it into a headband...and nabbed my MSD's apron just for fun. Of all my dolls she is the most solid in posing and keeping balanced, I love it!

Here is a photo of Alice! It's been a while lol What I've made tonight, a babytop(? Is that correct lol) Dress in pink to go over her fullset dress. It's not perfect, gotta make the arm holes bigger and not have stitches out but I like it ^_^ I also trimmed her bangs a bit lol

Im not sure what you would call that over-dress: an apron, maybe? Whatever it is, it's cute! I like it.

 

I just got my first Doll Love doll and it is a Fuyumi. Her character name is Chloe Clockwork. She is currently wearing borrowed clothing from a MSD so that is why it looks oversized. She is also wearing a blue wig from Dollzone that is meant for a MSD, but I think it looks cute on her. I think she needs smaller eyes. She will be a work in progress for me!

 

Oh Nekko! She's such a cutie! (I love those little lips.) Can't wait to see her with her face-up.

 

Thanks! I am smitten with her. My first doll was a MSD and came loose and did not pose well, so big difference with this girl.

I hear what you are saying, Nekko; I own larger dolls but I find the tinies are so much easier to handle. (And, so much fun to play with. You can just carry these little guys around anywhere.)

Im no expert, but I have found that most YOSD sized clothes fit them. I buy a lot of stuff off of Ebay, Etsy, and Alice's Collection.

What an adorable little room, Sprinkles! Wow! Look at all the little props! I love all the little details. Your You-You looks very happy! Now, all she needs is a little stuffed bear, or even a bunny! (Im partial to bunnies...)

 

I'll try to find her a bunny. Right now, she has a little resin cat Christmas ornament (not shown.) I had a cute, tiny little brown stuffed bunny, but my Calico decided that she needed it more than I did and she absconded with it. I still sometimes find it around the house when I'm cleaning. She likes to stash it away for the future. ^^;;;;;;;;

 

A little YouYou spam: Ivy (DL YouYou, pink skin) and Sophie (DL YouYou2, white skin)

I really need to change Ivy's eyes. I definitely picture her as a blue-eyed girl.

I also want to get a Ke. I think that sculpt would make a lovely boy.

 

I just ordered a DollLove YouYou (YoYo?) from Alice's collections. She is so adorable! I have wanted her for quite a while now and finally was able to get her. Waiting is the hardest part!

And, I don't think the wait is too awful terrible for DollLove dolls. I only had to wait for about two months when I got my YouYou2 last year. Hang in there!

LOL! Thanks for the enabling, Ballet! Right now, Ke is at the top of my "tiny" wish list, right next to 5star's Aiden. I love the thought of a chibi Hellboy in red resin.

But, unfortunately, it will be a while. I blew my dolly cash on the recent Dollzone discontinuations and got a couple of mini(s) before they were gone for good. I hate when companies discontinue sculpts!

BTW, did you finish your "babydoll" top for your YouYou?

Quick question for you all. Can Doll Love YouYou fit Sparkle and Barbie clothes?

 

They're way too pudgy for Barbie clothes, unfortunately. ^^

(Does anyone know how often Doll-Love does the free faceup promotion? I'm really kind of tempted by the pink You-You, but she's too much right now! )

 

I literally just ordered a Pink YouYou from Alice's collections during DollLove's last event (discount and free face up), and it ended about a week or so ago. So they probably won't be doing it again for at least another couple months. From what I'd observed though, they seem to do it like twice a year. Hope this helps!

About the clothes, unfortunately, my YouYou(s) can only wear YOSD sized clothes.

Don't feel too bad, sprinkles. I'm waiting for the next promotion, too.

 

@Princess_Sarah_Em I think all of the sculpts of this size are on the same body. I've found a few outfits on ebay for not much, here in the MP and there are a few sellers on etsy that are pretty reasonable. Sadly, Barbie doesn't fit these kids. It's awesome to see your EnEn they are too far and in between!

@sprinkles Don't fret about the freebie faceup. If you don't mind a seller that also deals via ebay, there's Milky Queen Doll Castle and those dolls come with a free faceup and wig all the time.......... just something to consider.

 

Yeah I love how rare my EnEn is and I think mine is allot different then how other owners style him.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! This place was suggested last year by a member of our local group. We had such fun the first time, I had to go back this year. I'm so glad I found this thread! I just got a YanYan and I'm wondering where the best places are to buy clothes/wigs that will fit her well. Any advice/suggestions? I plan on trying to hand make a few dresses to.

 

@pandakey Yay!!!!!!! I'm so happy there's going to be a YanYan joining the party! We haven't had many, I had to look long and hard when I was deciding for myself but ultimately went with YiYi since she reminded me of my paternal Grandmother's smile. I am really excited for you! I can't wait for you to share pictures!!!!!!!!

I'm going to give it an educated guess that she will require a 6/7 wig but the bodies are all the same for the recent dolls. I think originally they were single jointed? Anyhow, regular old yosd will fit well. Francie has the biggest wardrobe by far since it's so easy to find clothes that fit. That's great you will sew for her. I've done one small sewing project and it went well. Please share your creations and your new doll when she comes home!!!!

I agree with mollym, my Doll Love girls are very easy to buy for since almost all regular YOSD sized clothes fit them. You can find clothes for them everywhere. My favorite places are Ebay, Etsy, Alice's Collection, and even Denver Dolls Emporium.

 

I have her..well, sort of. She arrived just days after I left for a study abroad trip. So she's at my friend's house in her box waiting for me to get back! Thanks for the replying to my question!!

 

Awesome! And yes, I will share once I get back home and do a little photo shoot. I don't see many YanYans around (on youtube, etc.). YouYou seems to be the popular sculpt, hahaha! Something about YanYan's gentle expression made me choose her though. Anyhow, thanks for the advice!
