DollLove Baby Love (1/6 Dolls) discusion part 1

Yay! Finally a discussion thread for these guys! ^__^ I was going to make one myself soon if no one else jumped on it. Thanks, hiesna!

I can't help with the tan skin question, but as for the eyes I just got a pair of 12mm dark brown glass for my Yoyo, and they fit her fine with no glaring gapping issues. The colored part is a tad bit small in Yoyo's wide eyes for my personal preferrence, but they still look nice.

 

hiesna i have also heard that many people who have tanned skin doll have problems with them going slightly green over time, like how normal resin yellows .
But i haven't heard anyone saying Doll-love resin has the some problem, yet i have hardly seen any tanned doll-love dolls.Sorry i can't help anymore.

oh and here is a photo of my Angel with Ringdoll 12mm eyes, yet i know some brands eyes very in pupil and iris sizes.

 

Here is my Ke. She is white skinned. I really like the 12 mm eyes, too. Mine have the ones that she came with, so I guess they are 14 mm.

 

i would like to share a few pictures of Hope, she is female version of Enen in yellow skin with peapod legs. she is wearing 12mm eyes yet i am going to see what 10mm looks like.


i have also used a doll-love body with peapod legs and a doll-zone head just to see if it would work and in the end i fell in love and bought Hope.


Oh and if i remember correctly i think Doll-love started up in 2009, but i started collecting dolls in the begining 0f 2010 so i am not sure ?

hiesna: They're Mint on Card's 12mm glass round with a little back stem (if they'll fit in the doll, round is the best way to go in my opinion; I do have one pair of flat ovals and they're great for filling up longer eye openings, but I tend to steer clear as I have a terrible time trying to position them correctly ). The iris on these actually looks to be only about 8mm, so a little on the small side. 9mm would probably look a bit better I'd think.

Fainne: Ke has such a happy bubbly expression. Very cute! Your girl looks so sweet in that dress...and the fabric looks delicious! lol

hiesna - Pretty name! Hi, Aishmine! ^__^ Congrats! That hat is awesome, and so are her bright blue eyes.

Lotis - These guys seem to fit standard Yo-size shoes (I was able to squeeze my girl socks-less into a pair of Bambicrony Ciao Bella boots, but as they're made for slimmer 1/6 dolls they're a tight fit around her legs).

 

If she's double jointed, there will be elbow & knee pieces that separate the top and bottoms of the arms and legs...if that makes sense. Basically each arm will have a top half, elbow joint piece, and a bottom half. Same thing with the leg: there's the thigh, the knee joint piece, and the calf. On a single jointed doll, the elbow is kind of sculpted onto the bottom half of the arm, and the knee to the bottom of the leg.

 

Hi, I have a question. Actually, I had two but you guys already answered the 14mm vs 12mm question for me already. ^_^ My other question is: what size clothes fit them?

My sister just ordered herself a YoYo, this is the first doll that she buys herself, and I want to have something nice waiting for her to wear when she gets here. Can you guys tell me what clothes fit best?

ShadowMist It depends if she got the old body (21 cm) or the new body (26 cm) I had the old body and boy it was a pain to shop for so I had my friend hand sew my dresses. I think maybe blythe clothing may fit them but I don't know for sure since they never replied to my email D:! I know for sure though that if you pay attention to the measurements some blythe shoes fit them well. Though if it's 26cm your in luck because that's a normal yo-sd size and very easy to get clothes for. Just search for yo-sd clothing and you'll find that they will likely fit. I know that luts honey delf clothes fits, as well as fairyland's littlefee clothes fit too. A little research on yo-sd sized clothing and you'll find that theres a lot out there! You just gotta look.

Anywho this is my Magdalena and I just got her the new 26cm body. I sold the 21cm body because I wanted her to be bigger. ^^;

This is the most normal picture I have of her and it's her old body. Sorry it's so big! Once she gets a new face up I'll give pictures of the new body.

By the way I am so happy there's finally a thread for these cuties!!! And I can't wait to see your Ke hiesna !

 

WiseOne: Magdalena is such a pretty name, I love it! She looks rather saintly there in all the lace.

ShadowMist: Congrats to your sister! Yoyo is a great choice if I do say so myself. It's likely she'll be on the newer body (I think Yoyo & Zozo were introduced at the same time or just after the larger body came out) so as WiseOne said, you should be fine with standard Yo-sized clothing. So far I've mostly sewn my girl's clothing (I'm finding it's fun designing stuff for her size...& her personality XD), but the rolled up jeans she's wearing in the below pic are LTF-size and they fit nicely.

I recently got Sugar a wig from Jpopdolls (6/7 Kanalong in Dusty Tears...the bangs were a bit long so I trimmed them) and today I made her a new top. The inspiration: delicious buttery popcorn! :3

 

Just placed an order for my twin Enens (or Ann as they are known on the English website :3) and I have a few questions:

1) Still tryin to decide eye sizes... Can anyone provide pictures of him in both?
2) Posability of the new 27cm body- reviews?
3) Wig sizes? :3

Twins! Congrats, ninjaxdestiny! I can't help with Enen's eye size specifically, but 6/7 is the standard wig size for these little ones (I tried my Bambicrony's smaller size 6 wig on my Yoyo and it's definately too small, but 6/7 wigs fit her well). As for the body's posability, I'm very happy with it. My girl arrived from the company strung very well and so far she's been able to hold any pose I put her in.

 

ninjaxdestiny AHH! Twins are always awesome! My best buddy has twins too! I can't help you with eye sizes and ImmortalDarknyss hit the nail on the head answering the wig question but I certainly can help with posing! To be honest it's really great! There are some set backs but they'll do what you want them to with patience. Let me start with the problems (or what I consider problems)

They cannot sit with their legs bent up. Here' s an example

They can't sit like that unless you pop the legs out which I haven't really tried.
My doll can't lean forward or backwards very well at the torso joint. It can lean and or back but it doesn't hold it. I'm sure sueding would help though. Though it can go left and right just great!
Lastly the range of motion in the right ankle joint is terrible. In comparison to the left.

I pushed her feet as far down as possible. Though in the long run this does not interfere with how I want her to pose. At least so far it hasn't.

Besides that since they're double jointed they can do some great things!!

I bought this dress from mintoncardinc.com

It was super cheap but super cute. This was actually my favorite from the ones they had in stock but I wanted to make sure my sister would like it and so asked her to choose and she ended up choosing the one I had wanted all along. I could have kept it a secret but wanted to make sure I didn't buy something she didn't like. ^_^

 

Question for those who purchased their doll from ebay: My sister's doll, which she purchased from liwenjie0310 on ebay, has apparently shipped on 7/31/11. There was no tracking # given but when I read the e-mail she got it said to expect deliver between 9/2 and 9/12. Are the dolls not shipped EMS? Could that have been a typo and was actually meant to say expect delivery between 8/2 and 8/12? She's not home right now but I'm going to get her to e-mail the seller and ask for a shipping # when she gets off work but I'd thought I'd ask you guys in case one of you has purchased from the same seller. It didn't honestly take over a month once shipped did it?

ShadowMist: If I recall, the seller never actually gave me a tracking number. The number just showed up under the item listing in My eBay Purchases. I'm not sure exactly how the package was shipped (EMS or airmail) now that you mention it, but after it shipped it took around a week or so to arrive. Of course it was some weeks after placing the order that the doll was actually shipped, so in total the wait time was around a month. Maybe that's what the time frame your sister's email had was referring to?

I already posted this pic elsewhere, but here's Sugar enjoying that festival I mentioned earlier. It turned out to be...not as cool as we'd hoped. XD This was the only shot I took (wish the wind wasn't blowing her hair forward so much, looks more messy than it actually was. >_< I pulled the long part into a ponytail and used tiny claw clips to hold it up in the back, then kinda had the ends sticking up like a firework bursting over her head. lol):

she makes me feel alot better when i am feeling ill and always seems to put a smile on my face.

 

ShadowMist: Thanks! ^__^ Definately looking forward to how your sister styles her girl, eyes & wig & such. I realized the dress you bought is the same one my sister has for her Bambicrony. It's very cute, but a bit big on her girl. I haven't tried it on Sugar, but it should fit the Doll-Love kids perfectly.

goldendiamonds: Hope is just too adorable. How could anyone not smile after looking at that face? Her pink eyelashes are very cool! And is that the C.C.T candy print dress I spy (love their stuff! I've got the yellow floral dress & one of the monster hoodie sets ^_^)?

 

Here's a few quick pics I took of Sugar today. She's wearing a new pair of eyes & a sweater that were supposed to be for my Leeke boy, but they seem more suited to Sugar so I guess they're hers now. ^_^





I was hoping to get more outdoor shots but in the course of the three minutes I was out there I got bit by mosquitos seven times, and Sugar also decided to leap from the branch I had her perched on and fell about five feet straight down to the base of the tree! She was luckily unharmed except for some dirt in her hair...which had of course landed a few feet away from her still attached to her headcap. XD

MythicMelodies: Yay! Another soon-to-be Yoyo owner! ^_^/ Did you decide on skin color? My girl is the normal pink skin; it's sort of light pinky-white. I was suprised when I got her just how light she is (she almost appears white skinned next to my normal skin dolls from other companies), but it's a nice shade.

 

MythicMelodies: Yep, she's double jointed. I'm personally really happy with her posing ability. She came very well strung straight out of the box (perfect tension; not too tight or too loose), so she stands like a rock & can hold her head, legs, and arms up and in various poses without much difficulty. This earlier post by WiseOne has some more details on how well these little ones pose. ^_^

I'm thinking about getting a yoyo (shes adorable and all your pictures are so lovely :3) and I was wondering if anyone knows what colour skin she is in her promo pics? I thought it might be the yellow skin, the pink skin looks paler?

 

I think that the skin in the promo's is yello skin, from my research!! ^-^ hope I helped! I'm getting a yoyo to! For my birthday on saterday!!!!But I'm asking the dealer on ebay what color it is so I'll repy back later!!

 

thanks MythicMelodies, um next question is does anyone know what their yellowing is like? I'd rather get the pink resin if she's gonna look like a banana in a couple of years :P

here is an answer to your question here is my Yoyo Angel with pink skin she is 10 months old
and here is another photo of another of my doll-love doll in pink skin whichs is 9 months older.there is hardly any yellow yet the pink has slightlygot darker over time, but it is hardly noticable. There is no real way of stopping yellowing on resin completely but if you keep them out of sunlight the resin does not yellow so fast.

 

I can't remember who asked for this photo of comparing white and pink skin of Doll-love but here it is anyway.

i decided to take some photos of Angel because it has been a few months now since she's been out her box. i also tried her in a brown wig which i think is cute but i think i like her in her pink hair more.

 

It had been a little while since I'd played with Sugar, so the other day I changed her outfit (it's borrowed from my other little girl so not exactly her usual style, but I like it on her anyway) and when I was posing her I found a cute new use for the "pointing" option hand!

In other news, I just noticed Mint on Card is now an official dealer for Doll Love! It seems they're having a bit of a rough week over there, so they haven't yet gotten a chance to list any stock for sale or preorder, but more info should be up soon.

 

Aww that dress looks really cute on her, and it looks like it fits well too I'm sure the little girl probably would have got it covered in jam or something anyway :P

Thanks, Annelida! The dress is a little snug on her, but still workable. I'd seen some of the other LaLaLoopsy fashions before and figured they'd be roughly Yo-sized, but I never liked any of them enough to buy until I saw this pink tea party confection. Love at first sight. lol

Your Arya is adorable! She looks like a little cherry blossom branch. I love how those ent legs look like real wood. They're really cool.

 

Awesome I don't think I've seen doll clothes sold separately here though I did find a dressing gown for my MSD girl in a random teddy bear shop :P hopefully LaLaLoopsy will continue making cute dresses from now on :3

Hehe yeah I figured if she was going to have a pink wig her blossom needed to be pink too XD The legs have whorls in them and everything :3 though blushing them took a few attempts to get right D:

 

You did the blushing yourself? Well you did an amazing job! It definately looks like you put a lot of work into it. I'm really impressed with the acuracy of the details.

mydaffer, take a look in the girls' toys section at Target. There's usually a LaLaLoopsy section towards the end of an aisle. In the stores near me the clothing sets for the big dolls are hanging to the left of the mini dolls (watch out though, those minis are an addiction in themselves lol). In addition to the pink dress I've seen a red checkered dress, some pjs, and a white coat with orange fur. They run around ~$10 each.

As for those eyes, it looks to me like they're probably 14mm.

 

Hehe thanks! I can't take credit though, the details of the lower legs are from the resin, all I did was coat them with brown acrylic :P I did paint her upper legs to match though, with woody detail bits and everything :3 can't really see that in the picture XD

mydaffer - I agree they're probably 14mm, I tried checking the Doll Love site and milky queen castel but neither seems to list the eye size 0.o

 

Hi everyone!
So I fell in love with the Doll Love Yichiyu but I'm not a fan of the tiny bodies from Doll Love but I do love the Angell-Studio tiny bodies.

I was wondering will the Doll Love head fit on the Angell-Studio body? Also I'm not sure how different the DL's yellow skin resin is from the A-S's butter skin resin. Or how different Butter skin resin is from Translucent Butter skin. Can anyone help me? Thank you everyone!

(Also if this was already posted I'm sorry I tried to search thoroughly before posting this.)
