[MENTION=53169]mollym[/MENTION] - Destry (blue) is technically the older twin, though only by like a minute. they're my little demon twins who were taken to the human world for safety and their carer is their half brother (though they don't know it!) and it's very complicated by very fun! I have no doubt I will be making more tiny twinsets (especially doll love ones xD)

 

Thank you! I agree that she's much cuter now. I'm so in love with her. Yes, I did paint on the upper lashes. I didn't have any brown lashes and her old black ones didn't match the faceup so I saved them away. That, and I kind of like my dolls better without lashes though I may change my mind later.

 

I know dem feels! I'm kicking myself for not paying for faster shipping. I'm sure I'll love him. He'll make an awesome playmate for Charlie.

My daughter is begging for a YouYou now. I do love my Doll Loves.

Thank you ^^ Probably something like this young lady, because they're both supposed to be blob monsters so they've got sort of a pastel rainbow thing going on. I've ordered a wig for him, it's similar to hers, except it's shorter, probably just reaches the ears

More spam, you say? My Yichiyu's wig apparently never shipped (I got a refund though) so the poor guy's still wigless, which leads to Kandís (Youyou) hogging the camera. I need to find Yorn (the Yichiyu) another wig :/ It's just that all the rainbow wigs I find are usually long like hers, and the one I found that was perfect for him turned out to be a no-ship. Maybe he'll just be blond.

Just thought I'd share a snap of my wee Doll Love army.



Sitting on the bed are my daughter's YouYous Lillith and Eva who are visiting the doll house to play ponies with the other kids.
On the left is our newest addition, a Fuyumi all the way from Australia, Hope. Next to her are my Chi, Trevor and, of course, my sweet Charlie (Ke).

 

Hey guys I ordered a You You about 2 1/2 weeks ago, then mollym "found" me in the waiting room and invited me over here.

You You is actually for my cousin, but we're roommates, so I'm sure I'll see a lot of her. =P She'll be the second girl doll in the house, but the first Yo-SD sized. And I'm pretty sure I'm nearly as excited for her as my cousin is. XD

Stupid question, because I keep getting confused, lol: Are the Yo Yo and the You You the same doll?

 

Never a stupid question. I believe they are the same sculpt. I know Alice's Collection offers a second style face-up though. I don't see anyone selling YoYos only YouYous. Ok, so I only checked Alice's Collection and Mint on Card, YMMV.

 

@ Whoa! That's a wonderful crew of Doll Love little ones. I don't think I've seen so many together before. They are so super sweet. I am facinated with their room setup. I love that floor and the furniture and walls look so cool! Congrats on your boy making it home and the newest kid on the block, Hope!

I've been looking for so long for a cute tiny girl that has both OE and sleeping head and that I can get different pose hands for and I found that Yoyo fits the bill with everything!

I'm really tempted to get her, but Alice collection's doesn't list the heads separately nor they have the different hands listed. Mint on Card has everything listed but they do not accept paypal D:

I found ebay seller dollonline2009 has everything, is that their official ebay dealer now?

 

I don't know if there is an official ebay dealer right now. I also bought through ebay but used Milky Queen Doll Castle because you also get a free wig from that seller..... they are on sale now, so that's cool. You might want to check in the waiting room to see if anyone has used that seller, but they look legit at a glance. It might be worth it to check with different dealers about what they can order for you. From experience, just because a dealer doesn't list it, doesn't mean they can't get if for you. I would compare because some dealers will price gouge on the shipping for add-ons like the hands or extra head.....

I thought of getting extra hands for my girl, but I think it would be really hard for me to switch her hands by myself. I've had her about a year and she's strung very tight still. It's a cool option I have thought over though.

I actually ordered my 1/4 Doll Love head from Alice's Collections by sending them an e-mail asking for the cost, and just using the USD1 option to add as much as needed. (I ordered my Yoyo at the same time, so I just added the head as well). You could easily do that too, and I suspect the 1/6 heads cost about 30USD. Just make sure to e-mail them first so that it doesn't come as a surprise.

Awesome that you found your dream girl, the Yoyo is a wonderful sculpt! I hope you will be happy with her and post a lot of pictures here

Edit: You can of course also ask them in the e-mail if they can sell hands to you with the USD1 option, I'm sure they would ^^ I forgot to add that part, sorry.

I'm eyeing a lot of tinies right now and Yoyo is definitely on that list ! If I get her I'll be sure to post pictures here.

What do you guys think of the Doll Love resin? I read in this thread some pages back that their doll yellowed faster than others from different companies, but I don't think anyone commented on it.

 

Ellesmera, you're welcome! I can't comment on yellowing since I've only had mine since September last year so they're less than a year old, but they haven't changed in color in that time at least (I keep them mostly in a closed cabinet so that might be a factor too). But I can tell you that the Doll Love resin is verrrry smooth and velvety feeling. I kept running my finger over it and being amazed :'D Can anyone else comment on the yellowing bit?

 

I've had mine less than a year. The resin is just as nice as my other dolls. I think the yellowing depends largely on the colorant used in the resin. I could be wrong, but that's the impression I have from the folks who have been collecting longer.

 

Yeah some pigments like red tend to fade easier and no matter what all dolls will yellow! But I don't know haha some people commenting on the resin made me doubt a bit. Thank you @FacelessPuppets and @mollym for your input on the topic!

I don't have many dolls but they all have different kind of feel when I touch them, and they all seem to be of very nice quality, though the resin I liked the most was dollshe's, but I sold that doll haha

 

Oh, yeah, Dollshe.... I think there's a slight texture to the surface of those dolls. It could be the resin itself, or it could be the way they make the mold. I have noticed that too. I have a variety of brands. I couldn't say that one is of less quality than another resin wise. It's more about the joint articulation and if there's very thin pieces that get tension on them that might break them. I've had my Yiyi for almost a year and she's wonderful. She's my first yo, so I've really had a fun time gathering clothes for her and making over how small and cute she is. Other companies are cute too, but she was the doll for me.

Yoyo also has at least one other head sculpt that's a sleepy face and maybe one more???? I forget and there's hands, oh and some of the outfits in the promo pics can be purchased too. Their default faceups are cute too. Mine has a default until it becomes damaged or I get tired of it.

 

Yes what I love about Yoyo is that there's a sleeping face and a half closed eyes head as well and tons of hands to choose. And She's a cutie !

I love YoSD size dolls, I own 3 but only one is "human" and uses regular clothes so it's the only one I spoil. I so want to get her a friend, dress them in matching outfits and play with different hand poses since my Peak's Woods Lady Alice only has open hands and it gets boring after a while.

 

I absolutely love You-you and I can't wait to get my girl some more hands. I made my little one, Alice, a Walking Dead outfit for the season premiere.

Here is Alice with her new wig, which is a tad big but I'm sure with a wigcap or wearing hats she's fine lol. I haven't been getting notifications lately for this thread, weird!

I've been learning to sew. I've been trying (unsuccessfully) for over 20 years now. Thanks to my friends and youtube, I've been gaining some ground. I made Francie this jumper. It was my third try to make a skirt. It didn't look quite right with this fabric, so I added shoulder straps to make it a jumper. I'm a little nervous and excited to share.

@Ellesmera Awe, thank you so much! I was very excited it came together and actually snapped in the back without a gap, which was my problem with some previous attempts. That, and I had always been trying on crap machines... it wasn't all me after all.

If you can make santa hats, you could make circle skirts. Once I feel I have 'mastered' the pleated skirt, I plan to move onto circle skirts. I'm just learning as I go. Today I learned about the blind hem stitch, which is exciting to me.

Francie doesn't complain about my beginner sewing skills, and I'm finally having some fun making things for her. I got the bow idea from some other article I bought for her from a Chinese ebay shop. They made a bow from a bit of ribbon, thread and a tiny safety pin, so I just did the same but with the fabric.

Get ready for some serious Francie spam coming. I'm taking her with several outfits to a park this weekend for a big photo shoot. I just hope the weather cooperates.

There's too few Yiyi sculpts and Francie and I am so happy to see another. I love her dress, those flowers are super cute and that's a great color of blue.
