DollLove Baby Love (1/6 Dolls) discusion part 1

It's not that hard...they can wear Yosd and Littlefee clothes from what i understand.

 

My parents said they're getting me a YoYo for my birthday since MOC has her in stock... SQUEE ^-^

My Sugar has been with my favorite faceup artist for three weeks now. I miss seeing her cute smile everyday (I'm looking at her headless body sitting on my desk in front of me right now in fact XD). I'm anxious to see how she turns out.

 

They're going to order her tomorrow to make sure that she gets here before my birthday~ (which should happen, MoC is usually very quick about their in-stock orders, and my birthday is 11 days from tomorrow) I myself am ordering a cheap blonde wig I found that I'm going to cut and style into semi-short pigtails ^-^~ hopefully it'll look as cute as it sounds haha

 

Ke can be hard to find wigs for because she's got a very 'eggy' head so her sizing is weird. YoYo's head is more normal though, I haven't had problems with having her share with my other YoSD sized dolls.

 

Hi everybody!! I'm Jenna *waves* I got my DollLove YoYo about three weeks ago, and I thought I'd introduce her to everyone!



This is Mali Symphony. She is my very first BJD and I love her! I had a slight issue with her eyelashes getting stuck inside her eye socket, and I ended up having to pull them out because it was so annoying. Once I get the funds together, I'm going to get her a custom faceup by Virginia from RawKiss, and also some really great blue/green eyes. Right now they're dark brown and REALLY hard to see in pictures. I also plan on getting her a new wig; a shoulder length straight one in the same golden brown color. I think it'll come from MoC. I'm so excited...but first I need to scrounge up some cash! :P

 

She's cute jennabean! My YoYo will be my second, I had MoC send me a picture of the one they had in stock and she's got black eyes, I don't really mind but we'll see how I like them XD

Thank you so much, ChibiBei! I got Mali from an eBay seller, so she came with a free faceup and a free wig {the one you see pictured}. It saved me lots of money, hehe. But I think next time I'll be buying direct from a company or from a dealer in the US.

 

Chiisa was shipped today! :3 I'm so happy~
I won't get her til next week though since she's my birthday present, but I'm very thrilled ^^ I'm making clothes for her~

I just ordered Mali some new eyes from Safrin Doll. They're the caribbean color, so they're going to be bluish greenish. I'm so excited!!!

 

That little beautifully wrapped box with a bow and Birthday card attached is bugging me soooo much XD I won't wanna wait til Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness, ChibiBei, you made those leggings and her hat?! They're gorgeous!!! I always envy those who can make clothes for their dolls. My sewing skills are practically nonexistent...and making Mali her own clothes would save me SO much money!

Mali got her new eyes today from Safrin Doll! I was a little worried they were too bright, but I got used to them pretty fast. What do you all think?

Here's a recent picture of Corinne (Ke). Since I've got her, I've blushed her, given her a mani/pedi, added freckles, and enhanced her blush and lips.

I think I would like to switch her eyes to a 12mm.

ChibiBei - Oh my dear lord, I'm in love with Chiisa! Her wig suits her perfectly {in my opinion} and that outfit is just to die for!! I can't wait to see her in her new wig, too!!

Congrats on Chiisa, ChibiBel! Looks like you've got her spoiled already with all those cute clothes. lol Isn't it fun to sew for this size doll? I've made more stuff for my girls this size than for any of my others. I think it's because they require so little fabric, so it's easy to use up scraps on them. :3

jennabean, Mali's wig is really pretty. And I love the color of her eyes! Three of my dolls actually have eyes similar to that color (including Sugar, though hers are darker). I'm a sucker for bright aqua/teal shades.

I like what you did with Corinne's faceup, Fainne. Those freckles are adorable. Now that I think about it...was it you who I missed seeing at Otakon last year? I remember us saying it was too bad we missed running into each other since we both had our Doll-Love girls. Will you be there this year? I'm going to have Sugar with me again, and probably also my Volks girl. ^_^

Well Sugar's been back home from getting her new faceup for a few weeks now, but I haven't yet had time to take any really decent pics...which is too bad because I'm super happy with how she turned out! The bright pink default look was cute, but wasn't doing her total justice. Now she has a more versatile natural color-scheme. I also had the artist reapply her eyelashes (I had taken them off at her box-opening, but was curious to see how they'd look with the new faceup; now I think she looks better with than without!).

Once I get the proper materials, I'm going to redo Chiisa's faceup myself.
I'm not too fond of the pink-ness she originally comes with >.< I want her to look more child-like as well. I'll probably get to doing that next month

Chiisa's new wig came in!~ I put the clip in, I was bored lol. I love it! Though I may shorten the pigtails a bit later I don't know. Once I redo her faceup she's going to be precious >w<

 

So cute, ChibiBel! One of my sister's dolls has that same wig in brown. I love those tiny little braids. :3

 

ChibiBei!!! She is fantastic, I LOVE her new wig!! It suits her sooooo well.

It's really interesting to know that almost all of us YoYo owners are getting custom faceups. Haha!

XD the original faceup she comes with is good, but the problem I have is how it looks like she's wearing pink eyeshadow. The faceup seems way too.... pink. XD I want her to look more childlike. I also need to replace her lashes, the right one kind of fell out so I had to pull the left one so she didn't look awkward. She's jealous that her big brother has eyelashes and she doesn't XD

 

That's exactly how I felt. The quality of the work was very nice, but the hot pink lips & eyeshadow...I didn't necessarily hate it on Sugar, but it was sort of limiting since not all colors/styles of clothes go well with such a bold bright color. Now she has a very minimal "makeup" look (really just sheer lip gloss with a little shimmer powder all-over) more fitting for her pre-teen character.

I have to say though, Yoyo's default pink faceup can't hold a candle to the pinkness of how Angel of Dream used to do theirs. My ZiYuan was my first BJD, so when I got her I didn't realize right away that there might be something strange about her face... XD

 

This is 100% exactly how I feel! I want Mali to look more natural. And the same exact thing happened to Mali's eyelashes!!!

 

It seems to be a common thing to happen with Doll-Love tinies... I'm guessing they just don't use that strong of glue or enough glue to attach the lashes o.O
I hope to make her faceup match her brothers a little bit >.< his is the default faceup by Luts.



My new camera lenses came in today and as I went out to test them, Chiisa and her big brother Kadan wanted to come out with me and get some fresh air. :3

Thanks! I've realized it's sometimes a challenge to pose a Yo-SD next to a MSD. She only stands to his waist! I've managed to get her to ride on his back once though... it scared me senseless XD I thought they were going to topple over!

 

Haha oh my XD those eyebrows! They sort of remind me of Jeffree Starr's eyebrow makeup o.o
Chiisa's age is supposed to be around 4-6 years old, so when I get her faceup redone I'm going to go more for a very natural child-like look. I'm probably going to do it myself, hopefully it turns out well XD

Earlier today, Chiisa stole Kadan's teddy bear. She was proud of herself to say the least, lol. She has a teddybear more suitable for her size, but she just couldn't resist *shrugs*

 

Is it bad that I've found names and personalities for a Yoyo and a Yichiyu that I haven't even bought yet?

Geez I just look at their pictures and imagine I already own them, and then I come out of my dream world and I don't.

Feel like I have to jump in on this thread since I only have one doll, and that's a Baby Love Yoyo! I fell in love at first sight and just had to buy her!
Got her about a month ago, shipping went by really fast (about three weeks) and she was delivered to my front door. I was so excited and happy about the package that the postman couldn't help laughing at me
I named her Eliza, and she was soon to be the victim of my very first face-up (which didn't turn out very well). Now she looks a lot better though!

 

Welcome to DoA, Yoshiii11! Congrats on your first doll. Yoyo was a great choice (if I do say so myself lol); you're definitely not alone in your love for the sculpt in here. We all could start our own Yoyo army! XD

Eliza looks ready for Christmas in that outfit. She's really pretty. Love her hair. And her little freckles are so cute! :3
