Finally got to work on some stock to sell. ^_^ So far I've got a bunch of necklaces and am working on a number of shorts and pants for Doll Chatuau Youth.

 

I will be selling items that I make... heads, shoes/boots, clothing, glasses.

Sizes include pukifee, yosd, minifee, Kaye Wiggs msd, dollstown elf.

Also rehoming a few misc. purchased items... resin parts, wigs, eyes, props.

Well, the dolly video /room gift for the DoA peoples is coming along....
All the sets are done, the characters are painted, and today is finishing up the lighting kinks.
Tomorrow, I should be able to have a full day of photography....wish me much dolly posing luck! Please, heaven, no nose dives!

I wasn't sure about doing room sales, but I have so many wigs that I might open for room sales when I'm not shopping them. Seriously, how many floor-length white/blue/green/purple etc. wigs does one person really need? How did I even GET so many!? So, lots of fantasy colored (and natural colored) wigs, mostly Leeke and Soom, 8/9 or 9/10 with a few smaller ones, too. Some eyes, mostly Soom, along some urethanes in 12-14mm for trade only. Whatever outfits don't sell in the MP thread, along with a few others. Maybe a head or two, and some well-scaled props if I have enough room in my suitcase. Since this doesn't look to be a cosplay con, I'll use the space usually reserved for heavy leather cosplays for sale stuff!

I am looking for fantasy outfits and accessories in a variety of sizes, fantasy or antique-looking props, mini books, DOLL EYEGLASSES!!, HATS!, and, yes, a few dark colored wigs in 8-9. (No matter how many you have, you never have the one you need. )



I will bring my eye box. I have some lovely urethanes in 12mm-14mm, but would prefer trading. Looking for 12-14mm urethane eyes in all shades of blue and gray.

MissEmily what a perfect idea...I know I did a video a month or so back of some sale stuff but I might have to do this if I have time for the stuff I'll be bringing to Dollism..hmm how are people going to find what rooms they are looking for if they want to shop with specific people? I'm not sure how strange that would be to give out my room number because I'm bunking with others.

I've been going through my stuff like a fiend and have A LOT more to sell than originally planned. Especially dolls (really wish I wasn't flying at this point D: Driving would make things easier.). So if you're interested in resin, clothes, shoes and wigs, stop by!!

 

I think I have all my stuff packed for room sales (unless any I get any other requests).

--Unusual clothing pieces for Girls in the 60-70cm range, especially on the 65-70cm end of things (I have a whole troupe of circus performers, and they refuse to wear ordinary things
--Hound sized clothing. Some high-quality casual & formal pieces, but mostly seeking unusual pieces. Drat that circus.
--MSD boy clothing that will fit over the new Dollzone booty. Hipster/metro/professor style.

DOLLS
--girl in the 65-70cm range. Preferably a unique/strange sculpt. Damaged dolls are definitely welcome, as the character is part automaton and will be undergoing serious mods/additions.
--MSDish girl, slim or otherwise. Preferably either slightly larger or slightly smaller than normal MSD. Or if not oddly sized, then oddly proportioned.

 

Greetings. I am looking for a pair of Dollshe eyes in green hazel for an old SA Saint head. I'm also looking for a masquerade mask for a Dollshe Saint head for the convention. Will also be looking for various and other sundry items so looking forward to those room sales!!

I am rooming with VampireAngel13. I also have TONS of stuff. Clothes, (handmade, from market place and from companies) Wigs, Shoes, Dolls. VERY reasonable prices. Lots for $5.00 or less!

 

TIPS for selling:

* Please clearly mark the sizes of your items! It's not easy to ask about every single thing. If I don't see a size marked, I'm just going to skip over it.

* Please clearly mark the prices of your items!

* If possible, have picture print-outs of your wigs and clothes if they are bundled up in a package and not easy to see.


It would also help if you--

* Sign up for Square of Paypal so you can take credit cards with a smartphone.

* Or at least make it obvious if you are Cash Only or can do PayPal through the internet, etc.

I just love buying stuff, but when there's so much to look through, I'll just get overwhelmed if things aren't clearly marked.

You can use paper tape or post-its or removable stickers from Office Supply stores, or just about anything to mark prices and sizes and what things are if that isn't obvious. Seriously, I would SO appreciate it as a buyer!!!

 

Good tips! I think I'll get to printing some photos once I get my printer working. >.<

Does this mean feral5 and I can be "Woo, Tiny Summer Canadian Trading Post"? >__> Just a heads up though, if your Square was issued to you guys in Canada it will not work in the US. feral5 and I already looked into this as a comic illustrator friend from the US made mention to us that her American issued Square doesn't work up here when she was up for a con. So unless one of you guys has a US issued Square you won't be able to take payments down there unfortunately.


feral5 and I packed up all our sales stuff and it is literally an entire small suitcase. It is ridiculous how many wigs we have accumulated over the years.... also a little disturbing. Just a quick run down now that things are in order though...

IMPORTANT ADVERTISING QUESTION!

I have made a little poster per the dollism sales page recommendation.

The poster advertises the stop motion film I have made as a little gift/event for attendees in lieu of room sales.

I would like to give a similar thing to the dealers, an invitation to take a little break and enjoy a dolly film, but I don't want to break some unwritten rule! No, I am *not* asking them to display this invitation, it is a private invitation for each of them!

Now, the only problem I can potentially see is that we WILL be having room sales as well. My roommates are bringing things to sell, and I may throw some stuff in the car if I have time. The normal poster has this exact text in the bottom corner : "(Also, ROOM SALES!!)" That's it. But the vendor version of the invitation will have NO mention of sales whatsoever, so that it cannot be construed as trying to advertise sales on the vendor floor, because that is NOT my intent. I just want as many people as possible to see the little film!

Is this a problem? I don't want to cause a ruckus or be impolite!

 

I would gladly pay a premium for a Kinder Surprise.

 

Kinder eggs! We are heading into Canada Thursday, can we smuggle those back in? I haven't had one of those in years! >.<

 

With comments like this I might have to make a shopping trip for some Canadian chocolate gold.

Every American I know hates the taste of ketchup chips *laughs*. I believe they were called 'foul' by one person *snickers*. As for Kinder smuggling... be aware that every Kinder egg smuggled into the US is worth a $2,500US fine. No, that's not a typo and apparently border security is very serious about keeping out the threat of life and limb of Kinder Surprise *rolls eyes*. You could go with the perfectly legal Aero (which comes in several flavours now), Coffee Crisp, Whoppers and apparently we still have several types of Mars bars that aren't available in the US.

 

For the record, I was not at all serious about bringing Kinder Surprise, because I am aware the border is freakishly vigilant about those harmful little chocolate eggs. That said.... holy crud I did not know the fine was /that/ much. That is insane. @___@

 

They claim that Kinders are a choking hazard when eaten. Uhhh, what? Really? Have they even seen the size of the plastic piece inside holding the prize? But whatever, they are freakishly vigilant about preventing Kinders from entering the US to protect the children *shakes head*. The fine is insanely high. Just think, a 3-pack like you buy in the dollar store for like $3 would ding you for a fine of $7,500US *gasp*.

I'll likely have some Laura Secord chocolate with me to snack on the train and I'll be sharing that with my US friend when I get there *grins*. They do so love our Canadian chocolates.

 

Now all I want in the world is a Kinder Surprise egg

We do that locally at meets, it's what I was planning on doing for those who'd rather use PP instead of CC (though I can do all the things. Or at least all the things Square will let me do.).

I'll be searching the room sales for a few things - Jammies, undergarments, socks, and modern casual attire for a big bust SD girl, and SD boy as well as wigs for them. Undergarments, and non-fur short haired wigs for my SSDF Cane. Maybe shoes too.

I'm also looking for a mini I can take with me on my numerous road trips. I miss my dolls when I leave them.

 

I'll be looking for a wig that actually looks good on my Vampire Shiwoo, and shoes for all of my dolls. Also would really like some furniture, it's so hard to tell whether furniture will look appropriately in scale with my dolls from pictures, and some accessories.

 

Knowing what I do now thanks to this thread, I will be bringing furniture! I have a really bad habit of hoarding stuff I don't need (especially props). I'll also have some limited SD16 clothes, a body, some SD13 and mini clothes for sale ... and probably more.

I really need to be packing, but I'm procrastinating instead...

Yes, you are! They're for a girl, but I realise they need some washing. My girl has been all over the USA with me and wore one outfit for a straight year Come poke at me!! I only bite if I'm hungry (or I really, really like you).

 

Have added a plethora of heads, some limited Volks clothing, and a body to my suitcase. IT'S STILL UNDER WEIGHT! I may have to make a last sweep of the doll room tonight. Looking forward to selling and shopping with all of you.

 

Another selling note: It's good to have some $1, $5, $10 bills handy to make change. You don't want to lose that sale if you can't make change!

Using Paypal through a laptop or wireless using tablet... I think you'll need to buy the hotel's internet service for your room. I really wish hotels offered free internet!!!! But it doesn't look like this one does.

It is possible for people with smartphone connections to Paypal you through their phones, I believe (I haven't tried it, but it should be possible). Of course, you'd have to trust them, or have a way to check to see if you've received the payment! So you might be stuck having to purchase internet connection for your room from the hotel anyway.

 

yea, my friend and I will be going to the bank to make change before we go, and we're bringing one of those change boxes, too.

 

Oh just cheat and make all your prices end in 5s and 0s to make change easier. >__> I mean whuuuut?

Also, I checked the Hyatt site and it looks like internet is inclusive in all guest rooms, but don't quote me. I would be really surprised if it wasn't though. Internet included is pretty standard in pretty much all mid to upper class hotels here, and we're usually a little slower on those things and only seem to do them once the US has been for ages. I love you my homeland, I really do.

As for Paypal, there is definitely an iPhone app. I imagine one for Android also, plus most people have their paypal to set up email notifications so as long as you've got wi-fi or tower access for those not coming from overseas/across the border there should be no problem sending and receiving paypal.

Edit: just got back from looking at room sales tonight. Apparently there is someone from the hotel going from room to room telling people that room sales are in violation of some agreement with the hotel and shutting them down. I feel really sorry for the people who were not able to arrive until this morning and were counting on tonight to buy things.

 

The problem was that someone made a complaint about the noise. Probably some crabby person that didnt like dolls >_<

 

Earlier today someone told me that the noise wasn't even us it was a drunken wedding party.
